Print Header Information with an Executable File

Good Morning!
I have a LabView file that I have written to record data from testing equipment.  Once the test is complete, I have programmed it to automatically print out a picture of the front panel of the vi at the end of the test along with a header on the sheet that contains information such as date recorded, file path, etc.
The program works fine when I run it righ tout of LabView, but when I transform it into an executable file there seems to be a problem.  Once testing is complete, it automatically prints the front panel of the vi out just like I want it to, but the header information does not appear!
I really don't understand why it would work running right of LabVIEW and act differently as an executable.  Any help or advice with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Let me know if I have been to vague and should be more specific.
Thanks!

It sounds like you might have a filepath problem.  If your VI is looking for a file in a specific place then you will have to modify the path (strip one level I think?) to find it when running an executable.

  • Recovering a deleted bookmark file with 'Rescue my files' need header information of the .json file

I've reformatted c drive and forgot to keep bookmark backup file. So I'm trying to recover, but the bookmark is a .json type file and I need to add this to the list of files Rescue My Files recognises. To do this I need to input the file header information. Does anybody know how to get the file header information for a .json file

A JSON backup is a text file that contains data in JavaScript Object Notation format and doesn't have a specific header like an HTML backup has.<br />
The file should start with: <b><nowiki>{"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded":</nowiki></b><br />
All following data likes dates is specific to each backup.

  • Problems with installer/executable files

I created an installer with an executable file so I can run my program on another computer that does not have labview. I went ahead and installed all the drivers on the target computer and I installed 8.2.1 Runtime Engine as well as NI-VISA Runtime engine. My program tests circuit boards which are connected to the the various modules and the target computer will be used on the manufacturing floor allowing employees to test circuit boards but not being able to mess up my program which is why I figured the stand alone is the way to go. The main problem I am coming across right now is that when the DAQ modules arent even connected to the usb port of the computer the executable is still running and saying the test passed which is very bad in the case on the manufacturing floor because boards could be sent out that have failures. I dont understand why when the DAQ isnt hooked to the computer the exe still runs when I feel like it shouldnt. Is there some function I can put in my program to make sure there is a signal being sent to the computer whether it is connected or not?? The actual program wont run if its not connected because it does not detect the modules which is good. What also confuses me is that when the DAQ modules are connected to the developer computer and the executable runs the circuit board test fails, BUT if the DAQ modules are connected to the target computer and the executable runs the circuit board test passes like before when the modules arent even connected...it makes me think there is something else I need to install on the target computer...

What you have set up only detects unit under test errors. There could be logic/programming errors or external hardware errors. The subVIs are not working if there is no hardware. They are returning an error and the Boolean state of the read should be ignored. The subVIs will always return something, even if it's a default value.
Shown below is some of simple optiopns you have for error handling. Look through the shipping examples. You will see a lot in them as well.

  • What to do with "Unix Executable Files"?

What do I do with Unix Executable Files? I've tried navigating to them in Terminal and typing in the file name but that doesn't work. How do I execute them?
I'm trying to install some web development framework software, and it appears that the command names start with the file I'm referring to but when I'm in the directory containing the Unix Executable File and type in the file name followed by a command it doesn't work. I get "command not found"

    Hi warpdesign,
In old-style shell environments, all files in the current working directory were defined to be in your PATH, where the shell looks for executables. That was before Trojan Horses. Now you have to specify the current working directory in the command line. Fortunately there is a nice "shorthand" for that. If foo.sh is an executable in the current working directory then it can be invoked this way:
    ./foo.sh

However, as others posted great links and I stole them, my post became too long so I put it in a web page. Bill Scott did the same thing so here is Bill's and here is mine.

Are You using IronPort URL Filters or Cisco IronPort Web Usage Controls.
I'm using Cisco IronPort Web Usage Controlsand it shows:

  • Printing Header Along With Graphics on Customized Screen

I have taken SAP Standard Program 'GFW_PROG_CHART_TABLE' to print Graphics on my screen. I have alse created my Header for the Screen. is it possibe to take a print of my screen with the header also with Graphics.
How can i do that ?

By "print of my screen" do you mean screen shot or actually printed to paper?
Printed to Paper you can try the "Hard Copy" option in your SAP Gui top menu help I believe, it's near the end of the top far right side.
Screen shot you can just use your "Print Screen" button the keyboard then open up a graphics program and hit paste.

  • Can I print page information (i.e. the file name) on my printout in Reader XI?

I can do it in Acrobat Pro,  but I don't see any way to do so in Reader.

If you open the PDF in a browser (like Firefox or Chrome) the file path, including the file name, will print at the top of the printout. I'm unaware of a way to do it with Reader, but someone else may know how.

  • Print head alignment with Magenta Cartridge only

We have recently replaced the magenta cartridge in our CP2025, the old unit was genuine HP as is the new one. For whatever reason the printer is now printing out of alignment, we have taken the cartridge out and put back in, done numerous resets, calibrations and setting changes, all to no avail. We have tried using various PC's running W7, W8.1 and W10 still the problem appears. Is there anything else we should try? It is only the magenta cartridge that is the issue, the others print as they should.

I only use OEM, new, HP ink cartridges.  The ink cartridges (both 21 and 22) are new and full.  The link you provided is to the standard instructions, which I followed, and which say simply "perform the align cartridges" routine.  But as I explained, that routine starts and then locks up.  Every time.  The routine gets as far as printing the page alignment arrows when the lockup occurs (starts fast flashing on the front panel green LED).   I have had this printer for several years, and have performed the align cartridges routine many times without difficulty.  Have always used HP OEM cartridges, never any non-OEM refills.  Then this lock up problem started.  Don't recall if it was associated with one of the HP printer driver updates I get (and install) from time to time. Printer will also lock up if asked to print a test page.  But printer works when I send files to it, and the print quality looks good, so the alignment of the cartridges must be pretty close.  But it would be nice to be able to perform the alignment,  just to be sure.

  • How can I include the Header Information....for a File to IDOC Scenario

    Hi,
I made a File to IDOC Scenario with DEBMDM06 for MDM>XI>SAP R/3. The Header Information in the XML File which is at the XI end is Missing. For that reason In Tcode SXMB_MONI we are getting an Error that <b>"HEADER Information Missing: Message should Start with EDI_DC40"</b> i.e the Header Information.
My Question is that whether we can do some changes in the Message mapping Step in the Integration Repository. I HardCoded the Few mandatory Fields that were there but it Again gave me the Same Error as above.
Can you please Suggest some Solution for this. Since the data is Coming in from MDM part the Header information is not there but It actually Important as it has got all the Port Information.
      Kindly Inform me some Solutions.
    Thanks & Regards
    Somnath

    Hi Suraj,
Thanks for ur Reply, but Since we are Doing a File to IDOC Scenario the IDOC DEBMDM is on the Right Side in Message Mapping and as U know it is Mandatory to Map an IDOC on the Right Part. EDI_DC40 is coming as it is there in the IDOC but our XML File Does not have that. If we Don't Map then it Becomes RED, which is an Error.
Furthermore in the Receiver Agreement we have put the Necessary Details such as Sender Service and Receiver Service along with the IDOC Communication Channels.
Can U give as a Better Insight on this Note how to check the Header Part as it is mandatory to MAP.We also tried to HARDCODE it by putting those Values and Mapping them to a Constant but it is Giving the Same Error.
    Thanks and Regards
    Somnath
