Print report, choose printer

Hallo,
I am running Report 6.08 on SUN Solaris 8. When I want to print a report and try to choose a printer, it seems to me that Reports only accepts local printers. The name of my network printer is hp5pac5ps. When I enter this name in the field "Printer name:" I get the error message
"You have picked an invalid printer.
Please make another choice"
On a shell level I have no problems accessing that printer.
Thanks for help - Ulrich

Hello Ulrich,
Reports recognizes only those printers which are configured for use with Reports, as specified in the $ORACLE_HOME/guicommon6/tk60/admin/uiprint.txt config file. You need to specify the printer description file (PPD or HPD file) here. The file itself contains help on how to create printer entries in it.
You can also take a look at the 'Printing on UNIX' document on OTN at http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/reports/files/pbr_uxprt.pdf. This document is specific to Reports 9i, but the details are applicable to Reports 6i also, with some modification to the directory names etc.
Thanks,
The Oracle Reports Team.

  • Print Report - Choose from Multiple Formats

    Hello!
I need to give the client the option to print a report to a pdf file and an xls file via 2 different buttons/links. I have a functioning button right now that opens a pdf file (.rtf created using BI Publisher) but I'm trying to figure out how to do the same for an xls file (no specific layout; client needs to sort columns). I can create a link to an xls file via the Print Attributes tab, but then my button to open a pdf file breaks (I get a 'missing expression' error).
    TIA!

If I may suggest looking at this article.. It shows how to let the user select their output from a dropdown list...
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/apex/apex31nf/apex31rpt.htm#t2
Might be easier then multiple buttons on a page, just a thought..

  • Print Report - Choose from Multiple Formats Part II

    Hello again!
I followed the instructions to create a report that gives the client the option to select an output format using a select list. ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/apex/apex31nf/apex31rpt.htm#t2 ).
This works great, but I have a predefined template that I created using BI Publisher that I would like the PDF report format to use instead of the generic layout. All the other formats can use the generic layout option, but the PDF report needs to use the .rtf file. Is this possible, and if so, how?
    Thank you!

Here is one possible idea, from bi publisher forum: Re: Automatically  selecting a rtf template from multiple templates

  • Flexible Report - choose the cols (and # of cols) on the fly - PDF

    Hi
I have a user community who would like to be able to choose the columns in a "Flexible Report" when they want to run a report to output to the browser, and then to PDF.
Now, I've played around a bit with setting up a number of page items - say 5 - called COL1..COL5 and setting the values from list-boxes and then running a report SQL:-
    Select :col1 COL1,
    :col5 COL5
    from my_table
    etc.
This produces the data, but its pretty tacky and the column names are COL1, COL2.... - also tacky, and the number of columns is fixed.
Anyone got any slick ideas on how to do this so the column names and # are variable?
I have tried a javascript example (posted elsewhere in the forum) that runs the report with all it's columns, and allows the columns to be shown / hidden depending on the state of a ccheckbox. This is very cool but it doesn't translate the flexibility to PDF output.
For those who have used Discoverer - I need a mini-Discoverer reportwriter!!
Any input greatfully received - Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi
i am sending you a sample of how to createa report in report painter follow it,
Main Steps in Creating a Report Using Report Painter
The illustration below shows the main steps in creating a report with Report Painter:
In this section, you learn how to create a Profit Center Accounting (PCA) report with Report Painter.
For these sample reports, you should focus on the tables that correspond to the SAP application areas with which you are working. The examples shown in this section have been created in Release 4.6C.
Sample Report for Gross Profit Margin
Bungee Corporation wants to use Report Painter to create a gross margin report. This Profit Center Accounting report uses data table GLPCT. The desired PCA report displays the gross margin for each profit center.
Below is an illustration of the completed gross margin report.
Prerequisites to Creating a Report with Report Painter
Before you can create a report with Report Painter, you need to:
    •     Determine the table
    •     Find the library
    •     Create sets
    •     Create variables
The following sections explain these prerequisites.
    Determine the Table
Before you can start creating the report, you must decide on the table you need to use. In this example, we use table GLPCT in Profit Center Accounting.
    Find the Library
Determine the library you want to use for the desired table.
If you need to create a library, on the SAP Easy Access screen, either:
    •     From the navigation menu, choose SAP menu → Information systems → Ad hoc reports → Report painter → Report Writer → Library → Create.
    •     In the Command field, enter transaction GR21 and choose  .
In our example, we use existing library 8A2 for creating a report.
    Create Sets
Create the required sets for your report. To create a set, on the SAP Easy Access screen, either:
    •     From the navigation menu, choose SAP menu → Information systems → Ad hoc reports → Report painter → Report Writer → Set → Create.
    •     In the Command field, enter transaction GS01 and choose  .
Note that this procedure is not necessary for creating the report given in the example that follows.
    Create Variables
Create any variables for the fields that must be entered before the report is executed. To create a variable, on the SAP Easy Access screen, either:
    •     From the navigation menu, choose SAP menu → Information systems → Ad hoc reports → Report painter → Report Writer → Variable → Create.
    •     In the Command field, enter transaction GS11 and choose  .
Note that this procedure is not necessary for the sample report in the next section.
Creating a Report with Report Painter
When you are ready to create the report using Report Painter, use the following steps.
Example Task: Creating a report using Report Painter
    1.     On the SAP Easy Access screen, either:
o     From the navigation menu, choose: SAP menu → Information systems → Ad hoc reports → Report painter → Report → Create.
o     In the Command field, enter transaction GRR1 and choose  .
    2.     On the Report Painter: Create Report screen:
    a.     In Library, enter the name of the library to be used for the report (for this example, 8A2).
    b.     In the Report, enter a name for your report and a short text description.
    c.     Choose Create.
    1.
To help you better understand how to create a report in Report Painter, the next procedures explain the varying substeps. You can either:
o     Define the rows (or rows with a formula)
o     Define the columns (or columns with a formula)
o     Define the general data selection
    Define Rows
Example Task: Defining rows (including defining a row with a formula)
To start defining the rows, on the Report Painter: Create Report screen, double click on Row
On the Element definition: Row1 dialog box:
    a.     To include characteristics in the first row of the report, select the desired characteristics in the Available characteristics frame (for example, Account number)
    b.     Use  to transfer the chosen characteristic to the Selected characteristics frame.
    c.     In From, enter the account number(s) you want to include in the row definition. Either enter to and from values or a group set (for example, the value 800000).
    d.     To enter the row heading, choose
On the Text maintenance dialog box:
    a.     In Short, enter the desired short text (for example, Revenue).
    b.     To copy the short text into the Medium and Long text fields, choose Copy short text.
    c.     To continue, choose
On the Element definition: Row1 dialog box:
    a.     To check if the selection is correct, choose  Check.
    b.     To transfer the selection to the row 1 definition, choose Confirm.
You have now defined the first row.
To define the second row for costs, on the Report Painter: Create Report screen, double-click on Row 2.
On the Select element type dialog box:
    a.     Select Characteristics.
    b.     Choose
On the Element definition Row 2 dialog box:
    a.     To include characteristics in the second row of the report, select the desired characteristics in the Available characteristics frame (for example, Account number)
    b.     Use  to transfer the chosen characteristic to the Selected characteristics frame.
    c.     In From and To, enter the account number(s) you want to include in the row definition (for example, 400000 and 490000).
    d.     To enter the row heading, choose
On the Text maintenance dialog box:
    a.     In Short, enter the desired short text (for example, Costs).
    b.     Choose Copy short text to copy the short text into the Medium and Long text fields.
    c.     To continue, choose
On the Report Painter: Create Report screen:
    a.     You can now choose to add further rows with other required characteristics. In this example, you can create a formula in the third row.
    b.     Double-click on Row 3.
On the Select element type screen:
                       a. Select Formula as the row element type.
                       b. Choose
    On the Enter Formula screen:
    a.     Enter the formula for Row 3. You can either type it in or use your mouse and the formula components buttons. If you type the formula, do not forget the spaces. In this example, Y001 and Y002 represent Revenue and Costs respectively.
    b.     To check the correctness of the formula, choose  Check.
    c.     Choose
On the resulting Text maintenance dialog box:
    a.     In Short field, enter the text for the formula field (for example, Gross Marg).
    b.     In Medium and Long fields, enter the required text (for example, Gross Margin).
    c.     Choose  .
You have now defined three rows (Revenue, Costs, and Gross Margin).
    Define Columns
    Example Task: Defining columns
On the Report Painter: Create Report screen, double-click on the first column, Column 1.
On the Select Element Type (not shown) dialog box:
    a.     Select Key Figure with characteristics.
    b.     Choose  .
On the Element definition: Column 1 dialog box:
    c.     In the Basic Key figure field, use the dropdown to select Amount in company code curr.
    d.     In the Available Characteristics frame, select the desired characteristic for column 1 (for example, Fiscal Year).
If you want to be prompted for the fiscal year at the time of running the report, you must make this a variable instead of a value.
    e.     Choose  to move the desired characteristic to the selected characteristics frame (for example, Fiscal year).
    f.     Place your cursor in the From value field and select the checkbox to the left under  (variable on/off).
    g.     To view the possible entries for the From field, choose  .
    h.     From the resulting selection dialog box:
     Select a variable from the list of available variables (for example, CYear).
         Choose  .
    i.     On the Element definition dialog box, choose  .
    j.     On the resulting Text maintenance dialog box:
     In Short, enter a text for the column header (for example, Curr Year).
     To copy the short text to Medium and Long text fields, choose the Copy short text button.
         Choose  .
Now you have defined the column 1 for your report.
    k.     Back on the Element definition dialog box, choose Confirm.
On the Report Painter: Create Report screen, define column 2 and all other columns you choose to define. You can define these columns either by:
o     Repeating steps for column 1
    o     Copying columns
o     Entering a formula that calculates the difference between columns (for example, between Current Year and Prior Year [variable is Pyear] in a column called Variance)
Adding a column or formula is similar to adding a row formula. After defining the rows and the columns, the screen would appear as follows.
    General Data Selection
After you define the rows and columns, define the general data selection screen for the report.
Example Task: Defining the general data selection screen for the report
    1.     On the Report Painter: Create Report screen, from the menu bar, choose Edit → General data selection.
    2.     On the Element definition: General data selection screen:
    a.     From the Available characteristics frame, select the fields to add to the general data selection as shown.
    b.     Choose  to move the selections into the Selected characteristics frame.
    c.     Enter the values for each field. (For example, the standard ledger for PCA is 8A to 8E and the U.S. company code in IDES is 3000. This example is a year-to-date report, so all 12 periods are in the range. The standard Version in PCA is 0, the Record type for actual dollars is 0, and CO is 2000).
    d.     To check the selections, choose  Check.
    e.     To create the definition for the general data selection for the report, choose Confirm.
          3.   On the Report Painter: Change Report screen:
    a.     To save the report, choose
To include the report into a report group, choose Environment → Assign report group.

    b.     Choose  .
    2.     On the Create report group dialog box, choose Yes to create and assign to a new report group.
    Display and Execute the Report
Example Task: Displaying the report you created in the previous steps
    1.     On the SAP Easy Access screen, either:
o     From the navigation menu, choose: SAP menu → Information systems → Ad hoc reports → Report painter → Report → Display.
o     In the Command field, enter transaction GRR3 and choose  .
    2.     On the Report Painter: Display Report screen:
    a.     Double-click on your report.
    b.     Review the report display.
    c.     To execute the report, from the application toolbar, choose execute.
    On the Selection screen:

    3.     On the next screen, enter appropriate values and choose  .
    4.     On the next screen, from the menu bar, choose:
o     Settings → Column attributes to change the column attributes such as changing the column width, setting the scaling factor, and setting decimal place numbering for number display.
o     Settings → Summation levels to specify a range of summation levels for which totals will display.
o     Settings → Print page format to change the layout of the report output.
    5.     To transfer the report to Microsoft Excel or Lotus 123, from the application toolbar, choose  .
    6.     On the Options dialog box, select the radio button of your choice and choose  . Note that for the report to open in Microsoft Excel or Lotus 123, you need to have these applications installed on your PC.
    7.     To get back to the original display of the report, select Inactive on the Options dialog box.
    Understanding the Report List
After executing a Report Painter report, several additional functions can be applied to the output to make your reports as meaningful as possible. You can:
    •     Sort on each column.
    •     Highlight rows that meet the threshold criteria, for example any amount greater than 6,000.
    •     Drill down from any line item. Drilling down you can access ABAP programs, transaction codes, SAP Queries, drilldown reports, or other Report Painter and Report Writer reports.
    •     Launch SAP Graphics.
    •     Send the report through SAP mail.
    •     Save as an extract to be brought up later.
    •     Expand and collapse rows.
    •     Change the layout settings.
    •     Display the report in Microsoft Excel with office integration.
hope this gives you an idea, and send me an email to [email protected] i will send you a doc on it,
if this was helpful then assign points ..
    regards

  • Oracle Report REP-1219

I am getting error 'REP-1219 body has no size or width' when I run a report from Oracle Applications...But it's fine when I execute the report from within Report Builder.

    Hi Ryan,
Firstly you should understand that Reports is a bitmapped reporting tool (think 600-1200 dots per inch laser printer), so when you run under character mode, Reports is taking objects that are sizable to the laser printer pixel and mapping them onto a much, much less granular character grid (e.g., 70x54 grid). So, a report designed for bitmapped may have many objects where after rounding to the character grid the object ends up being a line or single point in the character grid, making it have zero size...and you get the error when that happens.
You can see how your report looks in the character unit grid by following the steps in the help topic "Setting properties for an ASCII (character-mode) report". You'll want to adjust your layout objects to snap to the grid points of the character grid. You'll also want to use a font that comes closest to the character grid; you can do an Edit->Select All, and then choose, say, Courier, Regular, 12 point.
To get to the objects in the margin area of the report, choose View->Layout Section->Edit Margin. This will put the layout editor in a mode for manipulating only the margin objects. You can see the objects in the body area of the report, but you can't edit them. Then click this menuitem again to go back to editing the objects in the body of the layout.
    Hope this helps...
    regards,
    Stewart

  • REP 1219 object has no size error? when using a character report

REP-1219 'Margin' has no size- length or width
I searched on metalink, otn, and dejanews for this. I saw a variety of responses none are helpful. I am a forms person and do not know reports well.
This error happens when I try to change a report to character mode. My client wants to be able to view reports in excel. To do this, I need to change them to client mode.
I read places that I am supposed to change the font of all objects to fix this? How? I brought up the layout model. Clicked select and changed the font and size. Did not help?
How do I resize objects in report? I look in the property pallete of items under 'Margin' and I dont see any properties for size. I go to the layout model and try to size things and I cannot drag anything.
I tried using the convert utility that someone recommended. This did not work.
Please be thorough in your explanation and understand that I have read the existing notes about this problem.

  • Report tree query

    Hi All,
I want to execute seperately a report which is displayed in report tree,
the program name it shows is something like FBRX01GLPCTSFINSTAT-FA-X.
What does this name signifies ?
    Thanks.

    Report Tree:
An ABAP reporting tree program that allows the user to press enter or double click on any line. The report is updated with new internal table data and re-written. The cursor and paging returns to the exact same line the user was on, even though the report was re-written from the internal table. Input fields are filled with data based on ENTER of DOUBLE CLICK. [+] and [-] is displayed on each line and changes if user selects to expand/collapse.
Here, you specify the name of the tree to be used for report selection in the application menu. SAP supplies one default tree per application, but customers can create their own trees and overwrite the SAP tree.
Under Extras -> Control, you can define whether the reports in the tree are to be displayed in a selection window or on a separate screen. To suppress the processing of report trees for the relevant application by choosing Inactive . When you call report selection in the application menu, the list selected in the report list is then displayed.
It is also possible to deactivate the report tree for any end-user in any application by setting the user parameter 'KBT' to 'X'.
    Transporting the Tree Sructure
When you change a tree, it is included in a transport request (transport object R3TR SRTR). The following are then transported:
    • The tree structure all the texts
    • Node entries (the names of the reports and variants)
The following are not automatically transported:
    • User-specific settings (initial position, sub.trees, visible entries)
    • Saved lists
When you change a node, it is also included in a transport request. The following are then transported:
    • Node entries (the names of the reports and variants)
    Manual Transport (for Special Cases)
The tree structure is stored in the table SERPTREE. A tree structure can only be transported as a whole, and the transport request should contain the following entry:
    • R3TR TABU SERPTREE and SERPT. Function R transports all trees from the source system and overwrites those in the target system.
    • R3TR TABU SERPTREE und SERPT. Function K transports only those trees specified on the next screen. You must enter function R. You can only specify the tree ID; the node ID must be specified generically.
If you want to overwrite a tree structure in the target system, the node contents (table SREPOVARI, see below) and the user-specific views (table SERPENTR and SREPOUSER, see below) should also be transported, or at least deleted in the target system.
    Transporting Node Contents
The contents of report tree nodes (reports and variants) are stored in the table SREPOVARI. In this case, you should make the following entry in the transport request:
    • R3TR TABU SREPOVARI. Function R transports the contents of all nodes of all trees from the source system and overwrites those in the target system.
    • R3TR TABU SREPOVARI. Function K transports only the node contents specified in the next screen. You enter function R here.
If you want to overwrite a node in the target system, the user-specific views (table SREPOUSER, see below) should also be transported, or at least deleted in the target system.
    Transporting User-Specific Views
The views of the report tree are stored in the table SERPENTR. You must make the following entry in the transport request:
    • R3TR TABU SERPENTR. Function R transports the views of all users of all trees from the source system and overwrites those in the target system.
    • R3TR TABU SERPENTR. Function K transports only those views specified on the next screen. You enter function R here.
The views of the nodes are stored in the table SREPOUSER. You must make the following entry in the transport request:
    • R3TR TABU SREPOUSER. Function R transports the view of all users of all nodes from the source system and overwrites those in the target system.
    • R3TR TABU SREPOUSER. Function K transports only those views specified on the next screen. You enter function R here.
Delete country-specific reports from report tree
    Example
Deleting country-specific personnel reports from the report tree, for example, deleting the reports for USA.
    Further notes
Selection criteria on the selection screen:
    • Reports to be deleted: Specify the report name (optional)
    • Report tree: for example, SAP1 for the tree displayed when you choose Information systems -> Gen.report selection.
    • Delete also in user trees: Default = checkbox selected.
    • Change database: Test mode = Checkbox not selected, i.e. no database updates.
When you execute the report, you get a list of all countries for which country-specific reports can be deleted. You then select the countries for which you want to delete reports.
    • To delete single reports, choose Country-spec. report. To delete all country-specific reports for the countries selected, choose Delete tree area.
    • When you choose Delete tree area, you are prompted to confirm the deletion. The selected reports are then deleted and the system displays a log of the deleted reports (also in test mode).
Working with Reports in the Report Tree
    Prerequisites
Once you have accessed General Report Selection, you can expand the report tree structure to find the reports you want to start and perform other related functions:
    You can:
    • Start reports
    • Start reports in the background

    Searching For Reports
To find a particular report in the report tree structure:
    1. Choose Edit  Find  Objects
    2. Enter your search criteria
You can enter basic search criteria and, for ABAP reports only, additional search criteria.
    Basic Search Criteria
    Search criterion Remarks
Report name This is the technical name of the report (for ABAP report, Report Writer reports, and transactions), or the user group for queries.
Extended report name This is the technical name of the report (for drilldown reports or report portfolio reports), or the query name for queries.
Title This is the report title. Here, the system searches for a title that matches the user's entry exactly.
Node This is the technical name of a node in the report tree.
You can specify additional selection criteria for ABAP reports as specified in the program attributes:
    Additional Search Criteria
    Search criterion
    Application
    Logical database
    Created by
    Last changed by
To determine the area in which you want to search for a report, check the appropriate boxes as follows:
    Restrict Search Area
    Restrict to… Action
Whole report tree Enter the technical name of the root node and select Find in subordinate nodes.
Sub-tree Enter the technical name of the sub-tree node and select Find in subordinate nodes.
Node Enter the technical name of the node and select Find in subordinate nodes.
You can search for a report using one or more character strings that appear in the report documentation, but this is very time-intensive.
You can also perform generic searches using *.
    3. Choose Execute
The list of results is sorted by node.
    Displaying Report Attributes
To display the attributes of a report in the report tree structure:
    1. Position the cursor on the relevant report
    2. Choose Edit  Node attributes
You see the following information (if present):
     Report type
 Technical name of the underlying executable program
     Extended report name
     Report variant
    Checkboxes also indicate whether:
 The report is started using a variant
 The selection screen of the report is skipped
    Displaying Report Variants
If a report has variants, these are listed as subordinate nodes. You can start variants just like any other reports.
To display the variants of a report in a different way:
    1. Position the cursor on the relevant report
    2. Choose Goto  Variants
    3. Ensure that the Variants field is left blank and get a list of possible entries
    4. Choose Display
You see a list of variants defined for the report.
If you want to start a report in the background, you must create a variant first.
For more information about working with variants, see:
    Variants
    Displaying Report Documentation
To display detailed documentation about a report:
    1. Position the cursor on the relevant report
    2. Choose Goto  Documentation
Starting Reports not in the Report Tree
If the report you want to start is not in the report tree, and you cannot access it through other menus, you can start it by running the underlying executable program. To do this, you need to know the program name:
    1. Choose Goto  General reporting
    2. Enter the program name
    3. Choose Execute
For further information about working with reports, see:
    Reports
Starting a Report in the Report Tree: Example
To get a list of the remaining leave entitlement of various employees:
    1. On the General Report Selection screen, expand the tree structure by choosing Human Resources  Time management  Absence
    2. Place the cursor on the Leave Overview report and choose Execute (or double-click the report)
    3. Enter your selection criteria and execute the report
The system displays the results on the screen.
    Report Variants
    Definition
Group of selection criteria that has been saved. A report can have several different variants, with each variant retrieving different types of information. For example, a vendor report might have one variant for U.S. vendors and another variant for European vendors.
    Use
Instead of entering the same values in the selection criteria input fields each time you execute a report, you can enter the values once and then save the selection criteria as a variant. The next time you execute the report, you only need to enter the variant name, not the selection criteria. If you use variants, the selection criteria screen is already filled with data.
To execute certain reports, you must use a variant. In this case, a system message prompts you to do so. Although you are not always required to use variants or selection criteria, it is a good idea to use them when possible. Your resulting lists will be smaller and take less time for the system to process.
    Background Processing
    Use
In background processing, the SAP System automatically runs any report or program that you can start interactively.
When you schedule a job in the background processing system, you must specify:
    • The ABAP report or external program that should be started
    • The start time
    • The printing specifications
The background processing system starts your job and runs the program(s) that you specify. Afterwards, you can check whether your job was executed successfully and display a log of any system messages.
Suppose you need to run a report of customers whose bills are overdue. You can:
o Start the report yourself from the ABAP Editor. If you do this, the system runs the report interactively, in a session at your PC or workstation. While the report is being processed, your computer response time may be slower.
o Or, you can have the background processing system run the report. To do this, you must create a background job that tells the system what you want it to do.
The background processing system runs your "late bills" report according to your instructions. The list generated by the report is either printed directly or is waiting for you in the SAP output controller (see Using the Output Controller). You can also check in the background processing system whether the report ran correctly.
    Features
    • Running a report in the background does not tie up the SAP sessions you are currently working with.
When you start a report interactively, your current SAP session is blocked for further input for as long as the report runs.
When you start the report in the background, running the report does not influence your interactive work with the SAP System.
    • You can shift the execution of reports to the evening or other periods of low load on the SAP System.
You can schedule a report or external program to run at any time that the SAP System is active. You can also set up reports to run automatically on a regular basis (for example, on the last day of each month).
    • Background processing is the only way you can execute long-running jobs.
To prevent tying up system resources with interactive sessions for long reports, the SAP System has a built-in time limit on interactive sessions. If a single ABAP report runs for more than 5 minutes continuously in an interactive session, the SAP System terminates the report automatically.
The background processing system executes long-running ABAP reports more efficiently. Often, such reports are automatically scheduled for execution in the background. In this case, you do not need to schedule them for background processing yourself.
    Reports
    Use
When you are working in the SAP System, you may want to access information from the database. To do this, you use reports.
In this documentation, report refers to the report program, and list refers to the output – that is, the results of the report.
Some reports display information; others allow you to perform analyses.
A report must be started, or executed. In many cases, the SAP System automatically executes a report. Sometimes, however, you will want to execute a report yourself.
In addition to report programs, the SAP System provides numerous reporting tools, each of which has its own set of procedures for executing report programs.
This documentation describes report programs only. For an introduction to the SAP reporting tools, refer to the Reporting Made Easy guidebooks (Release 4.0B). You can find these guidebooks at: www.saplabs.com/rme .

  • Report showing vendors for particular material groups

I am trying to perform an analysis to determine vendors which have procured items for specific material groups.  I have 64 different material groups which represent indirect materials and I want to be able to determine what vendors have been procuring these materials.  I have run transaction ME2C to examine purchasing documents, however there is way too much information and the system cannot generate the list.
I was curious if there was some aggregate report that I could use in the Logistics Information System.  I know the Purchasing Information System has Standard Analysis for Material Groups, however I have to drill down to each Material Group and change the breakdown by Vendor to get the list and this can be somewhat time consuming considering I will have to do this 64 times.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Don

    use transaction MC$<
    execute the selection
in the report choose from menu settings > characteristics display
and select either Key or Key and description
then choose from menu  Material group analysis > Export > transfer to XXL

  • Customized Reports - Graphics / Calendar Style

    Hi,
    I'm a project scheduler,
    experienced with P5 & P6. I'm currently using
Primavera P6.1. I haven't done much report writing, and I
am currently tasked with creating two customized reports.
    <strong>GRAPHICS ON
    REPORTS?</strong>
    One of the reports is
an overall look at a project, so it would include the
project start/finish and project level user defined field
values. The UDFs are indicators. I want the report to show
the graphic value of the indicator, but I'm not sure how
to make P6 report editor give that. It seems to only be
able to give the text value ("green"). Is there a way to
make the report choose a graphic based on the value of the
    UDF or code?
    <strong>CALENDAR
    REPORT?</strong>
I know a lot of people
want to create a report that is essentially a lookahead,
but on a calendar layout. I've asked Primavera if this is
possible but they referred me to the PARs. I contacted a
couple but haven't found a calendar report. So does
anybody have any suggestions for creating a calendar style
report? It would list each task that is either starting,
ongoing, or finishing on that particular day.<br
    />
    All suggestions appreciated!<br
    />Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for the reply. I
don't like the sound of that - exports for graphics.
Do you mean export all project data & then use it
in some other tool to create the report? Like build an
excel template to process csv data? :cringing:<br
    />
I'm using P6 Web and it's got nice
graphics but you can't create a full PDF printout of
all the data which is why I'm trying to build the
    report.
    PAR = Primavera
Authorized Representative (aka the local rep)<br

  • How to handle multiple reports with single hyperlink parameter

Please suggest in my drill down report
i have two reports linked with one hyperlink
    parameter, how to handle this?
please suggest for popup window with sample solution.
    for example
    report A--->B--->Chosse Report c or D
based on parameter hyperlink at report B.
    Thanks in advance
    Raj

    Yes U R correct, that
I'm using srw.set_hyperlink in plsql format trigger
to open other reports , now the problem is
how to carry over the hyperlink parameter to popup window
and allow user to choose any reports based on the
    parameter value.
    for example
report A (Sales person summmary report)
    |
    | (choose sales person drilled to orders report B)
    |
B (report has the hyperlink on order no)
    |
    |
C,D,E (many reports based on order no
    customer,order details,pending items
    to be shipped)
Now how to handle the situation from b to c,d,e
I suggest use hyperlink at B to open popup to show
reports C,D,E with the order no has parameter.
please suggest for javascript to open popup window
    for reports c,d,e.
    Thanks
    Raj

  • Sort order on reports

I've encountered a number of report views where the sorting is obviously flawed. For example if I run the Modification Date Age Report, choose the Age Criteria of Month and Year, and try and sort on the Date - it sorts that field in a string sort, not numeric sort, so I get 1/2001, 1/2002, 1/2003, etc. instead of 1/2001, 2/2001, 3/2001.
Any way to cure or change the sort order behavior?
