Print to Go - installation hangs

Installation of Print to Go failed to complete on my Win 7-x64 laptop. At the installation screen with the "This could take several minutes", the completion bar went to the far right but installation didn't complete, even after waiting 4 hours. I have to use the Task Manager to close the application. When I try to reinstall, I see a screen asking if I want to repair or uninstall. I choose Repair and get a message saying "Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one." I have to restart my PC to free up the application. When I look at the installed Progams and Features after restart, Print to Go is not included. I go through the installation process again but same result.. installation does not complete. I also tried disabling virus protection with no benefit, same result.

Then, after much troubleshooting and inspecting the logs, I figured out that it was hanging on the "net start spooler" command in the install script. Then, I noticed that the net command was hung in task manager. I was able to complete the install by terminating that running process. After doing that, the install routine "un-froze" and reported successful installation and the PrintToGo printer was present under printers. Not sure if you are having the same problem but check your task manager for any running net* processes when the install routing hangs.

Its installed on a Win 7 64 bit PC i7 with 6G ram
PS is version 12.0.4 64 bit
The print dialouge box does come up eventualy around 10 mins later (some times). While waiting PS is totaly dead and the task manager shows it as not responding
Anyone got any ideas?

I might suggest seeking out an updated printer driver to see if that will help.
Is it possible you have a network path configured in there somewhere that's pointing to something no longer available on your network?

Do you have the same problem with printing from other apps, such as TextEdit? Have you looked at your printer's control panel to see if an error condition is displayed there, and if so, what is it?

Panel print to Acrobat X Professional Hangs

Upgraded to Acrobat Pro X on Win7 x64 machine (was previously Acrobat Pro 9, with no problems) and now Panel prints will no longer complete (acrobat pop-up progress window hangs at ~75%). Lookout hard crashes from this hang (must reboot, process kill in task manager will not kill Lookout properly).
This is nasty. Any hope?

I had the same problem, except no crashing, it just would not generate any .pdf files. My program worked fine and could print to pdf no problem with Acrobat 9 Pro, but when upgraded to Acrobat X Pro would no longer print. I talked to Adobe tech support and they said they only support Microsoft Office and AutoCad for third party compatibility. They said it was a bonus that LabView worked with Acrobat 9 and were not concerned or surprised that it doesn't work with Acrobat x.
I ended up using the CutePDF writer which is freeware and seems to work well for LabView 2011 on 64 bit Windows 7.

Javascript printing causes Adobe 9 to hang

Hi,
I have a J2EE App that fills out a form for the user, then opens the pdf and uses JavaScript to print the pdf.
I have noticed that when I try and open the PDF(and javascript tries to print) AcroRd32.exe starts to use 100% CPU.
It doesnt even print!
Is anybody else running into this problem?

I added the folder that my app downloads the PDF's to the priviliged folder list.
This seems to clear up almost all of my issues.
The one remaining issue is that if i try and open up multiple pdf's (all printing automatically) at the same time there are a certain few that will hang. It is always the same pdf's that will hang, and doesn't seem to matter how many working pdf's are opened before that one.
ie if 1,2 work and 3 doesnt.
opening each seperatley will work.
opening 1 and 2 will work.
oepning 1 and/or 2 then 3 will cause 1 and 2 to work while 3 hangs.
If 1 or 2 is open then i open 3 it will hang.
And just for fun this occurs in Windows XP SP2 but not Vista (rtm or sp1) It also does not occur in adobe reader 8.x in both xp and vista.
Any ideas on what could cause this?

Print function causes VI to hang.

I am running two VIs concurrently one is an "operator screen" and one is a "test screen".
When I print the front panel of the test screen using the "Print Panel.vi" all VIs will hang for about 1 to 3 seconds.
This interuppts the data flow on the other VIs.
Is there a way to eliminate this interuption?

Perhaps if the two VIs were running in different threads? Can't say for sure because you only posted one VI and that VI was missing all the subvis so I couldn't run the example.

Help please - when printing to adobe pdf, this hangs and stays in spool status

Can someone help assist and troubleshoot this problem I'm facing with printing to pdf.
The background is I provided a vendor a Word converted PDF document approval letter to upload into the system. While UAT testing, we are not able to print to PDF - hangs in print spool.
However the document checklist that had been uploaded into the system, properly prints to pdf (see page 2 attached). Is there any way to debug or determine the root cause since the vendor believes that they have delivered a product that works from their perspective and suggest it's an Adobe issue.

I running the software setup from the HP website for windows 7 x64 and I keep getting stuck at SNMP reply Officejet 6310 ip_address.

I have a few questions that will help me help you.
How are you connecting the printer to the network (USB cable/Ethernet cable/wireless)?
Did you try downloading the software to your local computer then running the install?
Did you setup the printer from its front panel display?

Pages prints incorrect photos - Christmas cards hang in balance

Using a Pages with various photographs. In printing, it duplicates some of the pictures instead of printing different ones. Doesn't show on preview.

You might check to see if there are newer printer drivers available from the manufacturer of your printer. I believe some HP drivers displayed the behavior you describe.

Print to Acrobat on LR 2.6 Win7 64-bit hangs?

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit with a clean install. I have installed Lightroom 2.6 and all is well EXCEPT I cannot print to the Acrobat 9 PDF "Printer". Lightroom and Acrobat hang and Lightroom must be killed and restarted.
I assume this is a 64 to 32 bit driver problem.
Does anyone know of a workaround?
Has anyone else seen this?

Reader X hangs when printing

Have not been able to print from Reader X since installing.
Windows XP to network printer. Reader X just hangs when spooling to the printer. I am able to print from other PDF programs (Foxit and Sumatra). Drag and dropping files to the printer after printing a page from the other programs will open Reader X for the other PDF documents and print but cannot print directly from Reader.
Any ideas?

It is a network Konica/Minolta scan/fax/copy bizhub 200 served through SBS2003 server.
Reader does not seem to print to any of the printers on the network - again, no problems with other programs. This includes Canon and HP printers too.

CS5 hangs up when I try to print.

I have been using CS5 for some time now. Recently I have had problems with CS5 haning up sometimes for 4 -5 min or more at a time when trying to print. It hangs up when I first hit the print button, then again once the dialogue box opens and I hit print preferences, again once I finally hit print. All in all it can take me 15 minutes or more to start printing a photo after I first hit print.
I am using a Dell Studio XPS with a 3.07 GHz Intel core i7CPU with 12 GB Ram operating Windows 7 64 bit. The printer is an Epson 7900. I didn't have this problem 2 weeks ago. The only addition to this computer since the problem started is a Drobo for backup of my images.
I have tried resetting my preferences without success. I am frustrated beyond belief.

In other words it hangs every time Photoshop tries to communicate with your printer driver.
Is the printer connected and on? If not, the driver may take a while trying to talk to the printer.
But your delays are due to the printer driver doing something and not returning control to Photoshop.

HP DeskJet D1660 hangs in the middle of a print job?

My HP DeskJet D1660 occasionally hangs in the middle of a print job. No error message appears but the light in the power button is blinking. I have tried opening the printer queue and deleting the job. The queue switches from status "printing" to status "deleting" and hangs with the queue never deleting the print job.
Solutions tried: turning off printer, unplugging printer, unplugging and replugging the USB cable. None of these clears the queue or restarts the printer. Restarting the machine also did not unclog the queue initially, however, after a lot of cable unpluging I got it cleared and was able to use the printer again.
Today It stopped in the middle of a print job again this time with an Excel spreadsheet (the first was printing a web page). After trying some of the same fixes again but before powering down the computer I somehow got the HP Guided Solution up (I"m not sure what I did to trigger it). Using this help system I managed to get the queue unclogged and the printer up and running following about ten different steps.
Why is this problem starting to reoccur. Is there a permanent fix or will I have to struggle thru the process of stopping and starting the print spooler every time it happens.

Opening Printer Connection Hanging

All of the sudden I cannot print.
Printer is connected directly to Time Capsule and then wireless to my MBP.
It was working fine yesterday.
So far I have deleted and added the printer.
Before I go any further does anyone have suggestions?

I've deleted the printer, renamed it, added it again. But no luck.
My MPB can see the printer it just seems to hang when trying to connect to it.
It prints fine from the PC which is hardwire networked.
I'm going to try trouble shooting the printer now.
On the PC I restarted the Printer Spooler service.
Then I simply unplugged the Printer for 5 minutes.
On the MBP I again deleted and reinstalled the printer which it found no problem. It may have updated the drivers at the same time.
I tried printing and noticed that it defaulted to "Last printer Used" I changed this to the recently added printer and it worked.
Not sure which of these made the difference.

Printer hanging on printing, cancelling & closing down

Printer is one day old..
Print settings set to double sided and I wanted 19 pages printing
Prints one double sided then hangs with message "printing" and it doesnt print (waited 12hours)
I cancel from print screen and messages states "cancelling" this also hangs
Try closing down and message reads "closing" but doesnt.
Only way to disconnect is by unplugging
Is this new printer faulty? and should I return to PC world?

I understand your brand new printer is not functioning up to par and the print jobs are not completing successfully. I have a few ideas in mind that could help.
For starters, power reset the printer and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Try your print again.
You can also check for a firmware update if you have the printer connected to a wireless network:

Let me know the outcome, and if there is still an issue, please tell me which Mac OS X you're running and how you are connecting the printer (wireless, ethernet, usb).
