Printing from additional dialog instance didn't works

Hello to all!
I installed a new dialog instance and found that I can't print anything from this instance.
I see an error in the SP01:

I think that it could be a permission problems. How can I checked it ?
Also I found that I have too /usr/sap/EW3/SYS/global/ directory.
One on the central instance and second on the dialog instance host. So I have too spool catalogs. My instances has no any shared directories.
Could it be a problem too ?

2. At the time of the releasing the printouts what is the status of Spool work process status? and also how many Spool work process are you having in the one SID?

Install additional "dialog" instance on another drive on the server

We are running NW2004S (SR2) with BW on SQL 2000, Windows 2003 on a two-node cluster. We have an existing ABAP/Java instance installed on
the "C" drive (#11) on one of the servers. I would like to install
another dialog instance on the same server as instance "01" on the "D"
drive, but when I run the install (sapinst) and select "custom", the
installation recognizes the existing instance on "C" and doesn't give
me the ability to install the new instance on "D" (just "C"). How can
I install this instance on the "D" drive ? Do I need to uninstall the
existing "11" instance on "C". Also, on this server there are two "enq"
server processes installed (ABAP #30, and Java #35) on the "C" drive -
what happens with them ?

I did specify the CI node when referencing the SAP profiles in the cluster and they are all recognized. My problem is that the installation only gives me the ability to install on the "C" drive. As a follow-up, SAP stated that since this is an additional dialog instance install, sapinst will perform the installation wherever the "saploc" shared says (in my case "C" - /usr/sap). It appears that if I want to basically move my existing dialog instance (11) from the "C" drive to the "D" drive, I need to uninstall the instance, along with the "enq" instances, then re-install the instance on the "D" drive.

You'll need to install a Dialog or Application server...
You can find the instructions on how to install an application server for BW at SAP MArketplace.

Hp printer Office Jet Pro 8600 wont print from my Mac running Mavericks. Worked fine with PC.

I am having trouble getting my printer to print with my MAC. It recognizes jobs in the queue, but keeps telling me the printer isn't connected? I have uninstalled and re installed it, updated the drivers. Grrrrr
Need this for school. Not sure what else to try?

Printing from an Adobe product suddenly not working

The latest security update for 10.5.5 seems to have messed up my printing ability.
Printing from Adobe Illustrator or InDesign (CS3) my files are mysteriously reduced and rotated, or just reduced as if they were forced to fit smaller paper. The workaround is printing from Acrobat.
Printer is a Savin 3528 color using the Postscript driver.
Another similar Apple in the office developed the same problem once update was installed. I am pretty sure it was this update: HT1222

Installation problems installing new Canon MG3170 onto MAC Book Pro with OS X 10.7.5. Tried installing using set up disk. Didn't work. Uninstalled files and downloaded drivers from Canon Website. Didn't work. Uninstalled again and plugged printer usb

Having problems installing Canon MG3170. Anyone have any solutions? Here is what I have tried:-
-Installed from provided Canon disk, firstly with wireless connection, then using USB connection. Printer could not be added because the Macbook returns that the software is not available from Apple for both types of connections.
-Uninstalled software from the Canon disk, checked for software updates, then downloaded drivers (printer and scanner) from Canon Website. Again tried to install using wireless connection then USB connecton. Printer could not be added because Macbook returns that the software is not available from Apple
-Uninstalled drivers downloaded direct from Canon Website and plugged printer into Macbook using USB, Macbook recognised the printer and searched for the software, again Macbook returns that hte software is not available from Apple.

Sorry it took me a while to repsond, Ive been pretty busy with school and work. But for my hard drive problem, I did hours and hours of more research and trying countless ways of installing and tweaking things in my laptop and absolutely nothing worked that I could do. It was very irritating because I felt like I was so close to fixing it and I was just missing a step somewhere. Though It still boggles me why the disk utility shows a different capacity for the HD's. One thing I'm going to try next is replacing the hard drive cable that goes from the internal HD to the macbook. I read somewhere that sometimes those can go bad over time, and also if you get a new, modern hard drive, sometimes the old cable (for some odd reason) might not be compatible with the new HD. So i want to test it out for myself to see it that is the actual culprit.

Have you made any progress on your hard drive at all? If worst comes worst for you, you can probably get a SATA to USB cable and try to reformat it that way (this is the way that worked for me, but the only problem was it wouldn't be recognized when I installed it internally. Thats why i want to try getting the new cable), and if it still wont recognize it after that, you can just leave it outside of your mac, and just boot from that. The only thing that ***** about that is you have this big hard drive handing off the side of your mac when ever you need to use it.

Capturing data from additional subform instances

I have a form with push buttons to add and delete additional instances of a subform containing fields. WHen I distribute the form and the form is returned, any additional instances of the subform are not captured and added to the dataset. Any ideas?

Thanks Niall for the prompt response. I had actually come across both examples in my searching, however my form contains one table on a page. If the user clicks a button (Add Another Location) the form replicates this page (along with a number of other pages, thus giving me a new blank table). It is at this point that I would like the option of being able to copy the data from the first table instance into the second and so on but only if needed (hence the idea of using a checkbox to trigger the process).
Hope this sheds a little more light on my problem.
If this is somewhat confusing I'm more than happy to send you a copy of the file so you can have a look.

I followed the instructions to import favourites from IE but it didn't work. What did I do wrong?

All I get is a folder called "links from the united kingdom" containing three more folders which are the first second and fifth in my IE favourites list.

Incomplete importing sometimes happens (example of past thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/835144 Only 1/3rd of my bookmarks imported from IE. How do I move the rest?]). Could be related to the number/depth of folders, but I'm not sure whether anyone has definitely identified the cause(s).
For best results, export from IE to an intermediate file, which is in HTML format. Then import that file into Firefox. It will be a folder on the Bookmarks Menu, and you can use the Organizer/Library dialog to rearrange them the way you want them.

I have create a book in Lightroom 5.6 and want to send it to Blurb. No problem to create a account in Blurb but when i want to send my book to Blurb a green pop-up appears, i type my mail and the password, press the Send and then, nothing happens. I connected the Blurb-support, which recommend to contact the Adobe-support...... Some solutions? Thanks

Ian.. make sure your Mac meets Snow Leopard requirements > Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications
If you you can upgrade, better check the startup disk in case it needs repairing.
Launch Disk Utility located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left in the panel then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for > Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
While you have the Disk Utility window open, check Available and Capacity at the bottom of the window.
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space. If necessary, more would be better before upgrading to Snow Leopard.

This question and its answer might be interesting for the non german speaking members of this community, too. So I made a short translation of the discussion. Not in every detail but it should be sufficient to get the idea. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask here. For future discussions I would like to encourage all of you to use english as the forum language. The members of this community are distributed all over the world and using english is the only way to get feedback from most of them.
Now to the question:
Mr Schulz is interested in using GTS on a system i. To use the Adobe Printing Services support in GTS it is necessary to set up a Adobe Document Server (ADS). At the moment ADS does not run natively on system i. The PAM states that ADS runs on DB2/400 using a windows server. SAP Note 925741 suggests to run an additional application server. The question is now if there is no way to run a ADS on a system i without a windows server.
The answer given by Mr Hölters can be outlined as follows:
In fact ADS is not supported under i5/OS. To allow usage of ADS without introducing a second database platform to your system landscape there is a solution given in SAP Note 925741. Instead of having a second NetWeaver installation on a different platform you can add an additional dialog instance to your application server running on system i. If this dialog instance is running under Windows you can install ADS there and don't have to use a second database platform.

Dialog Instances Java are not up after System Copy NW2004s SR2 ABAP+JAVA

Hello guys,
I have just performed a system copy of our BW system (douple stack NW2004s) wich consists from CI and 2 DIs. First I made an export using SAPINST (Software from SAP_BUSINESS_SUITE_2005_SR2 for sparc solaris), where I choosed in SAP Installation Master->SAp Netweaver 2004s Support Release 2->Additional Software Life-cycle Tasks->System Copy->Oracle->Source System->Central System->Based on ABAP and Java->Database and Central Instance Export. I couldn't find any special task for export java from my dialog instances, so I thought it would be ok like that. Then I used the same software on my target system, choosed ...Additional Software Life-cycle Tasks->System Copy->Oracle->Target System->Central System->Based on ABAP and Java->Central System Installation. In the Dialog input phase of SAPINST I indicated that use db specific tools to copy your database. So I made the database restore+recovery with our DB tools and continued withthe SAPINST and Import.
Afterwards the ABAP part and Java on the central Instance run perfect, but Java Stack is not up by both of Dialog Instances. I have checked the configtool on the server where the CI is running (the DIs are running on different linux servers) and couldn't see any entries for my dialog instances, only the CI was seable there. I tried to start configtool from the application server, but there I could find only the file config.properties in the directory /usr/sap/<SID>/.../j2ee/configtool/, others were simply not there, so it was impossible to start it. Have i forgotten something by EXPORT/IMPORT or I should just use other software for coping a System with douple stack on a CI and DIs? Or should I get configtools for Linux platform ( have searched but not found yet) and try to make the same changes wich i have done by the CI before i started Java on the CI? The most irritated point is that i can't see the dialog instanes in Configtool from the CI.
Any other suggestions and good advices?

Is it really necessary to re-install the dialog instances?

We are upgrading from NW04 (WAS 6.40) to NW04s (WAS 7.00) ABAP SR2 only on Windows 2003 with Oracle 9i. There is no JAVA stack in our environment and we don't need it.
In production system we have five separate dialog instances on five different physcial machines. All these application servers runnon Windows 2003 as well.
Reading through the NW04s upgrade guide "SAP NetWeaver 2004s
Application Server ABAP" dated 28th November 2006,
section 6.26 states we have to "install the new dialog instance on top of the old dialog instance".
In the past upgrades eg. upgrade to NW04, we did not have to use SAPINST to re-install the dialog instance. Instead, the official NW04 (WAS6.40) upgrade guide just instructs us to amend instance profile parameters and copy the new version of kernel binaries either manually or using sapcpe.
I want to avoid doing this re-installation work for the five dialog insatnces. Because I want to reduce the production outage period.
Question all the upgrade experts
1) Does any one have experience that indicates I should follow the SAP documentation to un-install 6.40 instance and then re-install at 7.00 level again?
2) Also, what is the technical reason to uninstall and re-install?

6.26 Upgrading or Installing Dialog Instances
After the upgrade of the central instance, you need to upgrade the dialog instance to the new release.
To do this, you install the new dialog instance on top of the old dialog instance using the tool SAPinst.
You can now also install additional dialog instances, if necessary.
Procedure
Proceed as described in the document Installation Guide ‒ <SAP NetWeaver / SAP solution> <Technology> on
<Operating System>: <Database>.
Caution
If you upgrade a dialog instance, make sure to use the same instance number as on the source release.

Thanks for your detailed response. Our system is very much heavy batch processing oriented. Therefore our management does not want to hand over the production system until all dialog instances are ready at the new version.
It would be great if the upgrade process is quick as you pointed out.
Can you show me where this "upgrade dialog instance" option in V7 SAPINST? FYI. I should be able to start sapinst over the next few days to look for this upgrade option.
However, I just got a response from ASIA-PACIFIC OSS that says I have to un-install and re-install the existing dialog instance. Their response is as follows :
The dialog instance does not need to be upgraded since in the dialog
instance, no database exists but only the kernel files and some
profiles exist. After the upgrade, you should re-install the dialog
instance since in the central instance, the kernel release has been
changed to 700 due to the upgrade. But in the old dialog instance,
it should still have the old release kernel files and profiles.
Thus, by using reinstallation, the new release kernel files will be
installed in the dialog instance.
As to the procedure, you should uninstall the old instance firstly since during the installation, the files will be put to the same path of the
old instance.We recommend you to backup the old dialog instance files
before the installation.Sorry there is no related note but you can refer to the upgrade and installation guides.

BI : dialog instance does not start

Hi all.
--> Before explain you our problem, I'm going to tell you our scenario: We have an HP-UX cluster where we have installed BI system ABAP+JAVA stack (NW 701). We have got one central package with SAP and oracle in node1 and one dialog instance in node2.
--> When we start the cluster, central instance starts succesfully and all works fine. But at the moment we start dialog one in second node, for this instance only starts ABAP stack, but not java one. All logs shows a clear error, and it is that not connect to database. But at the same time, in central instance we are not able to start configtool because not connection to database. It's strange because in all nodes, processes are running. Just at the moment we stop dialog instance, central one works fine again and configtool access is succesfully.
Lot of bootstrap logs appear, so we are thinking that some parameters are wrong in configtool, but we are not so sure.
Can anybody help us with this issue? What can be causing that database connection is lost when starting dialog instance?

which way you apply kernel patch on application server for iseries?
use following method to apply kernel patch on application server for iseries.
stop application server.
download the kernel sapexe.sar and saexedb.sar application server on windows for iseries.
extract both file in one folder. i.e kernel
also download patch for IGS i.e igs.sar
and extract it in same folder. i.e kernel
now
backup NTI386 folder on iSeries host.
\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386
now copy the content of extracted kernel from folder kernel to NTI386 folder.
now start the application server host.
consider following to install application server for iseries on windows server.
if you use a 64 bit windows server, please have look to Note 734428:
This Application Server (64 bit) is available for EM64T/AMD64 technologies and NOT for Itanium

SM51 - no connect to dialog instance

Hi,
we have an Netweaver 7.0 on AIX ( DB2 on z/os ) installation with several dialog instances.
Now we installed an additional dialog instance on Linux ( SLES10 ) for this sap system.
1)
But in TAC SM51 we can see the newly installed sap system on Linux, but we cannot
"jump" to this dialoginstance from SM51.
2) We also have another problem with the shared /sapmnt/SID/global where the db2passwd - file
is located.
We get the Linux instance only running to the AIX CI, when we have an own "db2passwd" for linux und one
for AIX.
Any ideas for this behaviour ?
