Printing in Adobe Air with css print media rule
I am new to air and I am having a big problem with printing, I got some come snippet that triggers printing but the main problem is that the <code>window.htmlLoader</code> is passed to the addPage() and the print renders a screeshot of the first page.
This is not what I want, I defines a media print style rule and I want the print to print some portion of the page regrding the print media rule, is there any option or help. I have a deadling, the programming with JS is not the problwm but the printing is the problem. Is there any better API that can streamline this, I am running out of time.
Thanks in advance
Can you explain exhaustive abour your problem i can answer your question www.ticaretsicili.net

How to print from Adobe AIR with on the iPad?
Is it possible to print from an Adobe AIR app on the iPad? I've searched and I know PrintJob won't work. Is there another way to print? I'm developing in Flash CS5.5 and have Flash web app that already prints using PrintJob.
Has anyone seen an example of how to create one for printing? I need this functionality for Android and iOS.

Can no longer print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer
iPhoto 09. Cannot print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer. I select the photo from iPhoto Library, go to File>print. The screen for Print comes up with another one on top of it that is blank but with text "Print...Processing 1..OK". Clicking OK prints from that screen "Print, Processing page 1" (on correct 3x6 photo paper in black!).
I have run Apple Software Update. Run Permissions with problems (one: "Permissions differ on Library/Printers/h...". Have reinstalled iPhoto which has left one icon on Dock and 3 on desktop: iPhoto 07-27-19.app; iPhoto.app; iPhoto Library that I don't know what to do with with them, so just use the one on the dock which opens iPhoto Library.
Believe I read that after reinstalling iPhoto, a plug-in (possibly third party plug-in for HP?) must be installed. I have updated my HP printer to latest driver.
Would you advise how I can print photos in my iPhoto Library again, and also get those iPhoto icons off my desktop which only confuse me. Thank you for your prompt attention.
Out-of-patience Great GrammaMake a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Printing in another room with USB printer
Printing in another room with USB printer.
I have modem/wireless router from my ISP (my current network), a time capsule (version 2?) not currently online, an AirPort Express, a USB photo printer (Epson 2200), a recent Retina Macbook Pro.
I would like to print photos in a room across the house. Can I accomplish it with these tools? If so, how?
I'd like to keep the Express unit nearest the modem/router.
Should I set up a second network?
If Bob Timmons is out there, I've added the express to the previous formula.
Thank you.If the current AirPort Express is configured to "join" the current network there, and you can move it to the desired printer location and try things out as a test......that would give you an idea about whether buying another Express would allow printing in the remote location.
There are some real "Ifs" here. One is whether the Express can pick up a strong enough wireless signal in the remote location. The other is whether the Epson and Express are compatible with each other, since Apple does not support all USB printers. -
Multi-Page Printing in Adobe AIR
I developed a commercial application for a client in Adobe
AIR about 3 months ago. Now my client wants to add a printing
feature. The problem is it requires multi-page printing based on
the number of rows in a SQLite table.
BUT I FOUND OUT TO MY AMAZEMENT that I'm limited to less than
3K vertical pixels (or about less than 3 or 4 pages of printout,
depending on the vertical size of the page in the set)!
I was really dumbfounded (AND EMBARRASSED WITH MY CLIENT) to
see this rather fundamental shortcoming in Adobe AIR. It is
supposed to revolutionize desktop application development, but
AIR's lack of such an important printing support as multi-page
printing is really very disappointing.
Most desktop applications require and are expected to provide
multi-page printing. I hope the members of the AIR development team
are listening to this well-justified criticism and will roll up
their sleeves and work on it!
Thanks!quote:

have seen people mentioning AIR's printing problems all over the

issue, the "evangelists" always seem to be out in force. I think
that means no one is even working on this, and no one wants to talk
about a negative that doesn't have a fix around the corner or even
on the horizon. (If you don't have anything good to say, don't say
anything at all). Its really a shame, since printing is so vital to
the desktop and AIR is supposed to be the bridge between the
desktop and web.
There are a couple bug reports on this issue that you might
vote for if interested:
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-13895
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/ASC-3300
Of course the status of the bugs is "deferred" and the
priority is "none," which only reinforces my belief that Adobe
doesn't intend to address this any time soon.
If this is true, then its really bad
I already had selected AIR for my University Project, and If
adobe doesnt add printing support within 6 months, then im going to
have a hard time
Is there any article which talks about those semi printing
ways like Save to HTML or simialr? -
Printing in Adobe AIR (JavaScript / Ajax) whereas skipping the print dialogue
Hi,
Can I do what the topic says? Basically I would like to check with a timer a URL and once something appears there I want it to be sent directly to my default printer.
Is that possible? And if Yes, how?
thank you,
GeorgeHi, I have not investigated exactly your problem as yet but this seems to be related to it:
http://anirudhs.chaosnet.org/blog/2008.02.15.html
For me it was printing only the upper-left corner
but specifing a Rectangle for size for PrintJob.addPage() second argument fixed that
please consult
http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/flash/9.0/main/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context =LiveDocs_Parts&file=00000334.html
for help on Rectangle. You can use geom instead of display;
frameworks/libs/air/AIRAliases.js contains an alias directly to geom:
air.Rectangle = window.runtime.flash.geom.Rectangle;
so you may use directly air.Rectangle to construct the size.
It works on AIR 1.5 as well as AIR 2 beta
Code snippet I have used and worked:
function doPrintAir()
var pjob = new window.runtime.flash.printing.PrintJob;
if ( pjob.start() )
var poptions = new window.runtime.flash.printing.PrintJobOptions;
var rectangle = new air.Rectangle(0, 0, 800, 800);
poptions.printAsBitmap = true;
/* poptions.pixelsPerInch = 300; */
try
pjob.addPage(window.htmlLoader, rectangle, poptions);
pjob.send();
catch (err)
alert("exception: " + err);
else
alert("PrintJob couldn't start");
//comment the line below if you do not want to mess with existing
//window.print
window.print = doPrintAir;
this make js window.print() available for use as one would normay do.
Let me know if this helps and fixes your problem.

Problem with NetConnection in Adobe AIR(Flex) using Flash Media Server.
Hi
I am creating a small chat application using Flash Media server. I have already created all my user interface components in Flex(Adobe AIR).In this application rather than sending text messages user can also send file to another user in his friend list.
problem what i am facing is, when i am sending file through FMS most of time it send successfully but for some files while sending application loss netconnection.
so i would like to know, rather than closing application what are other condition when FMS loses network connection?
Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks.Hi. It looks like your code is not finding the mp3. At least,
I can reproduce your error code by removing the mp3 from the
directory, or renaming it.
Btw, if you test with FF instead of IE, you'd see the error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032:
Stream Error.
at KZFlash_fla::Sound_2/KZFlash_fla::frame1()
Hope that helps. -
How do I print to "Adobe PDF" with an encrypted pdf?
I've created a form in livecycle and I want the security to be set up as such:
1) A password is required to edit the form in LiveCycle AND
2) People can print the pdf to "Adobe PDF"
I've been able to create livecycle password access, but when I put a password on the LiveCycle Access (currently: Printing Allowed: High resolution, Changes Allowed: Filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields), I get this error when I try to print it to PDF:
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
How can I edit my form so I can do both.It´s quite some time I was solving this.. but as I already wrote and I can somehow remember(as far I´m not working on this platform for 3 years): printing 150dpi is one thing - it´s printing like a simple pic. Printing in hi-res works in completely different way - pdf must be redistilled with pdf distiller or how it was called. Means, there must be additional step before printing the pdf form. Cant remember the details.

Memory Foot Print OF Adobe Air Application
I have to create adobe air application for peer to peer application which will be run on (gateway)embedded Linux.
The problem is memory in the device is very low <= 2 mb.
I wanted know what is the memory foot print of the adobe air application if the code size is 200kb.Hi, here is an update to my problem.
After enabling legacy CAS policy in my configuration file, the memory is released immediately!
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<runtime>
<legacyCasPolicy enabled="true" />
</runtime>
</configuration>
I am still hoping to receive feedback about the problem. What is going on? Is this the right solution? Will it work in the future?
Is it because our project has to run only as a 32-bit process?
Thanks in advance

Printing from Adobe AIR using Reader/Acrobat.
I have a product created using Adobe AIR.
I have a portion where a pdf is loaded into a window, and
they print it. When we change what paper they are going to print on
(different dimensions), it does not take effect.
We have to load it in a native PDF application (Acrobat) and
change the settings, then print the piece off again.
This is horrible for efficiency.
Has anyone had this problem?
Help!
AndrewHi,
If your PDF has embedded javascript, your AIR application can
talk to this javascript function where you can call the Print()
method.
Take a look at
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/flex/quickstart/scripting_pdf.html
Make sure you set the location of HTML control to a HTML file
(which has the object tag pointing to a PDF) using file:/// url
scheme. I remember a bug where if you point to it using the app://
or you don't specify any scheme, scripting between PDF and AIR
won't work. -
When I get an e-mail with an adobe document, I open it and try to print it. It will not print on my printer - it just says print to file and trys to download to a file on my computer. Then it locks up.
Do you have '''Print to file''' selected?

Adobe air with premiere pro cloud
I downloaded premiere pro via cloud. When I click on help it says I need adobe air. I already had it on my machine. But I went to the referred adobe site anyway thinking that it would be a different file, etc. I could not make heads nor tails of the air site on adobe.
What I'm looking for is how to get the "link" command to link my files. It used to be part of the project, right click menu. But it's not there anymore. So I went to help and the above happened. Can any one help me with these two problems???Do you have a clip selected? Link Media won't be available unless a clip is selected first.

Adobe AIR apps break the media player!!
Hi all,
I posted yesterday stating that I was having trouble with the iPad media player.
What was happening was that if I opened the WIRED app, I was able to view the video content as normal. If I then closed the app (via the home button) and re-opened it, the video content would no longer play (I could 'buffer' through it, but whenever I hit the play button nothing happens). What was more disturbing was that this seemed to affect other apps that have video also, i.e. if I open the WIRED app, play some video, hit the home button, then open the Guardian eye witness app, the video content in the Guardian no longer works.
If I uninstall the wired app, or restart the iPad this is not the case.
I'm starting to think this is something to do with Adobe AIR, and that when the apps are getting closed, they are not shutting down a media player component correctly.
Is this happening to anyone else?Hi Mukesh,
I installed the Flash CC 2014 update and added some Certificates from Apple to my Keychain. Now EVERYTHING works fine again!! :-)
Thank you very much for the Update! :-) Good job!
Best regards
Jan
