Printing Issues with HP PSC 750 on Dell Inspiron 3647 using Windows 8.1

Recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3647 desktop which has Windows 8.1 unable to get my HP PSC 750 to print correctly.
I have downloaded all applicable Win 8.0 drivers and even tried using the HP print & Scan Doctor application.  I get partial test pages printed, but the emails, documents, etc. are not complete.
I had one error pop up stating that the USB 2.0 may not work with the 3.0 on the computer, but never how to 'work around that issue'.
I tried calling HP support and they wanted to 'remote' into my computer as that was the only way they said the issue could be fixed...never done that before and was not comfortable with it...
Any other ideas - before I go out and buy a brand new printer (this one by the way still works great!)
Thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome to the forums
I saw your post about trying to install and use your PSC 750 on your new Windows 8.1 system. After checking the drivers out for this printer, I have discovered that there is no driver available for Windows 8.1. Perhaps try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to see if that will help with printing. If not, I would then suggest looking into an upgraded printer which will have more up to date software and would most likely function with 8.1.

  • Issues with my recent purchase of Dell Inspiron 15 3000 - 3543

re: Inspiron 15 3000 Series, Windows 7 Professional English 64bit (includes Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit License and Media)
Had it for a few days, main issues:
    1. really bad wireless connections (compare to my concern #2 this is still bearable)
    2. when I am away from my laptop for maybe 20 mins or longer, it would freeze and no matter what you do, it would not respond. I had to shut it off by long pressing the power button. My laptop battery setting is screen never off on battery. (not power saver so it should not go to sleep, even it went to sleep..it should wake up at some point doesn't it!! =0=).
Called dell tech support, they asked me to run a test and found out hardware were all ok.
Do you think i should return this? If so, please recommend another model. I need it for basic daily usage, I need to purchase from dell website as I have a $250 e-gift card. so any price as close to $250 would be great.
    Thank you !!!

A system failing to resume from sleep is a fairly common problem and unfortunately can be caused by any number of issues, and unlikely to be related to speedstep. Other than the poor performance issues already mentioned, this doesn't sound like an issue specific to the 3543.
While the call is out for the system to go to sleep all working processes are supposed to be stopped before the system is fully "asleep"  All it can take for one process to be running and not shut down correctly to cause the system not to recover from sleep.
Since it sounds like this is random that can make it even more difficult to track down the cause.  One thing to consider is what the system may have been doing prior to being placed to sleep.  If a specific program or device was being used just prior to the system going to sleep every time that you noticed that the system wont wake, there is a good chance that program is the problem.  Can you think of any common denominator, any specific program that you had running just prior to the system freezing?
When the problem happens, and you are forced to restart the computer are they any error messages and if so what are they?  If you haven't already I suggest running diagnostics they can possibly detect failing hardware.
Please let me know if you are getting error messages, and if there was any failures while running diagnostics.

  • Auto adjustment of page orientation causes printing issues with documents that have a page width greater than its page height.

    Hi,
Since an upgrade from Word 2003 to Word 2010, we are experiencing printing issues with certain
documents that have a page width greater than its page height.
In Word 2003, it was no problem to set the page width greater than the page height while setting the page orientation to "portrait".
In Word 2010, this seems impossible: despite leaving the page orientation to "portrait", if one changes the page width/height as stated,
Word 2010 automatically adjusts the orientation to "landscape". Resetting the orientation to "portrait" will flip the page's width/heigth settings.
This behaviour causes printing problems: the page prints out 90° rotated.
I do not believe this is a printer driver issue: I tried several different printer drivers, and all give the same (bad) result. Setting the printer driver's page orientation settings (before printing) makes no difference, as
Word 2010 seems to force the page orientation settings.
Inserting the documents 90° rotated is not an option, since it causes problems with the printing margins.
This is very annoying, since we have to print official documents of a municipality (driver's licences).
Is there a workaround for this issue?

my photos are not printing right with adobe manages color but works when i use printer manages color. never had any issues untill a week ago.

We use CS6, yes we calibrate using x-rite. I have always had adobe manage colors when printing. This problem just occurred, all my settings are the same as they have been for years. The only thing we did lately is do an update to CS6. We thought it might be our printer but when we use the printer manages color it works fine, The problem with adobe manages color is it is not blending the light highlights like on top of the cheeks with the colors around the cheeks  and its putting a faint red between the two it just does not have a smooth transition. I printed a photo that I had printed 4 months ago with no issue, and this time it had the issue that I am dealing with now. Somehow the photo shop manages color is not getting the right info to my printer.
    I set paper type
    set quality
    no color adjustment

  • PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II print issue with Mac

I am having issues printing photos.  The picture comes out really dark, and the color is not right.  I am using the latest version of Mac.  How can I fix this issue?

    Hi droidus,
iPhoto is good for basic printing, but it offers very little in the way of color correction beyond the basic print quality settings.  If you are printing professionally with the Pro9000 Mark II I would recommend using a program that givse you more control over how the picture comes out such as Photoshop.

  • Strange Printing Issue With New HP & Pages

    Hello!
I have a very strange printing issue with a new HP printer. I have written pages documents heavy in Texts which are located within tables. The documents print fine on a Cannon and Epson printer and look great but when I print the document on my new HP Laserjet Pro 400 Colour M451nw some of the text on some rows come out of the printer looking like they are bold / slightly fuzzy. This only happens with some of the rows of text, not all of them. The font is the same in every row with the same format.
You can see this in the attached image. The first line (Thanks very much) has printed correctly but the subsequent lines look bold / slightly fuzzy.
After a lot of testing the only way I can resolve this is if I copy the content into a new pages document and only then it will print and look ok with the HP printer.
This must be a problem within my origional document. I would simply copy and paste everything into a new document however this would take a very, very long time (over 5 years of work producing teaching materials and over 100 documents and thousands of tables and formatting that cannot be copied and pasted).
Also, on other printers you can see the lines seperating each row of the table. These lines are not visible on the HP print outs, even when the table is copied into a new document.
Has anyone come accross an issue like this before? Is there a way I can fix this without creating a new document? Do I need to get a new another new printer (the 4th printer this week!)?
Any advise, wise words would be greatly apprechiated!
    Thanks!

Sorry, Fruhulda. After 4 hours on the phone with Apple care they are taking this issue further themselves. It seems to be a problem with our pages document and the compatibility with certain drivers. We have still not gotton to the bottom of it and Apple are going to get back to me when they have an answer.
We also worked out that the issue only happens when you print via Ethrenet & USB. Printing via Wifi is ok and there are no quality issues.
    Very Strange!

  • Lightroom printing issue with print server

I have a DP-G310 print server set up. It works fine with every programme but Adobe Lightroom. When I click print after a while I get the message failed to print. All my other programmes print ok, IE Word, Wordpad, Indesign CS3, Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3. The printer I am using is a Canon i9900. I also use a HP cp1700 set up on the same system the same way and has the same problem with Lightroom. If I turn the computer off after the page failed to print (not restart) and then turn the computer back on, it prints. Lightroom prints ok when I connect with a normal USB cable. I am using windows XP, 2gb ram Lightroom 1.4 .1 The same thing happens with Lightroom 2 Beta. Any ideas would be welcome.
Just in case anyone has a similar problem, this isue has nothing to do with Lightroom. By trial and error I discovered the problem was caused by my internet connection and was initiated by Lightroom connecting to the internet checking for updates. If anyone has any ideas how I can sort out this conflict so I can use Lightroom and print wirelessly at the same time as being on the Interenet I would be grateful.
    Thanks
    Alan

Did you run the OC4J in your web server box?

    Hi BC,
I have an issue with BC. When the shopping cart is used it takes stock out of inventory and holds it, regardless of whether or not a customer proceeds to purchase. OK.
To make matters worse, the stock is only cleared from the shopping cart when the customer closes the browser - not when they close the shopping window.
Now lets say a customer doesn't close their browser for a month - it happens! .. when their stock is finally returned it may throw out our stock levels that have in the meanwhile been adjusted. So their stock will be added on top of an accurate stock take, putting stock in that isnt really available.
    This is causing us mayhem.
We have not yet seen if stock is actually returned at all. In the test we did today where we filled a shopping cart then closed the browser without making a purchase, the stock was not returned immediately. So we dont even know when it will be returned - thats IF a customer actually closes their browser. Any solutions out there?
    Jo

    Hi there,
The way stock is managed in this situation is desirable for many in that case otherwise shopping on a site and adding to cart would not be viable or use friendly.
What you mention about not closing a browser though is a case that is not true. IF you go into the shop settings in the admin you can see the cart restore timer which is by default 24 hours but you can change this to as low as 1 hour if you wish.

  • Printing issue with DeskJet 6940

About every 20 pages or so, printing in portrait mode, the printer does a form feed after printing about 1 1/2" of text. It happens intermittently, and there is no apparent logic or pattern.
I have reinstalled the driver, changed the USB cord, but to no avail. My LaserJet CP3505 on the same computer does not exhibit this issue.
Using Windows XP with SP 3, Dell Dimension 3150 with 3.25 GB ram. It also happened with earlier XP versions, so its not an operating system upgrade problem.
It happens with B/W or color printing, always using 8 1/2 x 11 paper from the upper tray. It does not appear to happen when printing in two-sided mode.
I don't know what to try next! Does anyone have an idea?

I have an older HP non-wi-fi printer connected to my Apple Airport Express wireless router which includes a USB port. This makes the printer available with my wireless network which I've used for printing wirelessly with my former Apple PowerBook and now with my MacBook Pro for years. I'm now able to print from my iPhone and iPad as well.
You need to have the printer connected to a wireless router for your wi-fi network, or purchase a printer that is wi-fi capable and if you do that you might as well purchase an AirPrint compatible printer which doesn't require a wi-fi printing app purchased from the app store.

Hello there Lawrence, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the troubles you are running into when you attempt to install your OJ 6100 printer on your Windows 8.1 laptop. I read all of your attempts and seen you have tried several methods to try and get the installation to complete successfully.
I would like to make some suggestions that may help. Let me know how it goes!
    1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: How do I turn off Pop-up Blocker?
    Try to install
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
    How to disable realtime scans
    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Try the install

  • Photosmart Printing Issues with Windows 7 RC

Good afternoon.  I've tried to search for this but was unable to find anything on our specific issue unfortunately.  I've got a Photosmart C4180 and it came with HP Photosmart Premium software.  While this is fine on XP, the disc is XP only. You cannot change compatibility mode of the file on the CD to XP.  I have not had the chance to try copying the CD to the HDD and changing it there (would that work?).
As a result, I've been using Windows 7 RC and Photosmart software that you can download for Vista x64 with very little success using Vista compatibility mode (I've tried both SP1 & SP2).  It will install and run, but when attempting to print with it, it is ruining prints and thus costing us money.  I've got to go back to XP to print anything and that's of course less than preferable.
The problems: When printing borderless, it skews the photo (rotates it a degree or two) and produces white space in two corners with a crooked photograph.  When attempting to print with borders, it stops printing 2/3 of the way through the photo...I guess it thinks the bottom border is supposed to be HUGE.  So, unfortunately, compatibility mode is a non-starter and doesn't allow proper printing of photos.
If anyone has any suggestions on fixing those problems, I'll happily try them. Using the older version of Photosmart in WinXP does not have these issues.
While speaking of Win7, does anyone know when HP plans on releasing software that will work properly for it?  The time is nigh.  RTM has already come and gone with retail to follow on October 22nd. Is there a beta that users can test or sign up for?  I'd be more than willing to be a guinea pig, just let me know what needs to be done.
My wife is set in her ways and absolutely must use Photosmart to print photos.  It would be very sad if we had a brand new copy of Win7 (pre-ordered) sitting there, waiting on HP to release software that is usable with it.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printing Issues with Online Maps & Financial Institutions

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer that I have wireless connection to my HP G72 Laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 9.  I am having trouble printing online maps from either Bing Maps or Google Maps.  It seems the print jobs get stuck in the print que and always show an indefinite status of “Printing” in the que but never get printed.
I’ve tested my other applications including Office 2010 and all other jobs seem to print just fine.  I do use the “Print” button located in each of the online Map sites (Bing, Google).  This is when the jobs get stuck.
I do also have the HP Bing Bar installed with Smart Print.  The Smart Print feature seems to work with the online maps just fine (seems I’ll just use it instead).
Another separate printing issue is that I can never get any of my online financial transactions to print from any of my online financial institutions with either the Internet 9 print features or the HP Bing Smart Print feature.  I can never get those to print (have to wait for the PDF statements to be available).
Any ideas as to why I can print the maps or online financial transaction?  I get no error messages either.
