Printing the value of variable in group footer which is assigned in detail

Hi there,
A global variable is initialized in group header using a formula. The same variable is assigned in detail section (counting the distinct record based on a condition) in another formula. When the same variable is accessed in the footer, it is not returning the value assigned in detail section. If the value assigning formula is called in the footer, it increments the value by 1 and displays.
Can any one help on this how to solve?
Thanks in advance.

Can you copy and paste your formulas here?
There can be lots of factors affecting your result set.  Such as the declaration scope of the variable and/or on which pass you are asking to store the value to the variable.

  • How to Print the Value of a variable inside a PL/SQL package

    Hi Friends,
    Here is my Scenario
    I have a PL/SQL Package. Let us call it Baseline Package.
    This Package includes a dynamically built merge Statement.
    Execute Immediate v_merge_query.
    I have a procedure which replaces which few Keywords from the Package Text and Creates a new one depending on Inputs I provide. (This is something like a Code generator)
    Now while Creating the new package, I need to print the Value of v_merge_query.... I Need s Static Query to be Printed inside the new package and not a dynamic query.
    My Question is "Is there a way to print the value of the variable inside a different PL/SQL package?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mohit

    Print where?
    That PL/SQL code is server-side code. It runs in an Oracle server process.
    That server process does not have a keyboard. Or a screen/monitor. Or display canvas. Or an attached printer.
    That server process is incapable of "printing" as that is not its job or responsibility and not part of its environment.
    What is can do is record data for the client to look at afterwards. This can be done using static PL/SQL session variables. Or a SQL table.
    The former is done by DBMS_OUTPUT - a very primitive interface for writing text into a static PL/SQL string array. That btw resides in expensive private process server memory. The client can query the array after a database call and render the contents.
    PS. Also keep in mind that bind variables are critical for performance and server robustness - especially when (ab)using dynamic SQL.

  • Suppressing a line if the sum of a value = 0 in a group footer

    How do i suppress a line if the sum of a value = 0 in a group footer
    I have tried this this formula in the section expert - Sum ({RM_INV.QUANTITY}) = 0
    will not work.

    Hi Dana,
    The sum function needs to include the group you have your total in like:
    Sum ({table.FIELD1}, {RM_INV.QUANTITY}) = 0
    {table.FIELD1} would be the field you are grouping on.  Your formula was summing the grand total for RM_INV.QUANTITY.

    hi experts,
    pls tell me how to print the value of a field of  type FLTP. i.e in decimal format not in exponential format.
    thankyou.

    Hi ,
    I dont think in Floating point u can able to go for the decimal point display as it is for the minimum precission display..
    Define the variable as the 'packed' type and then u can able to define the decimal point...

  • How to store the value of sum of group in Crystal Report at the runtime!

    Hello all,
    I creates a Formula Field that hold the value of Sum of Group in Crystal Report. I would like to know how to store it in a variable and pass it to store procedure. Is it an option in Crystal report to do it. I knew that Crystal Report can cache the report for sharing. My detailed issue as following:
    - Created a Formula Field named TOTAL AMOUNT that calculated the complex expression. This TOTAL AMOUNT is dynamic based on group and variables.
    - I would like to store that value from TOTAL AMOUNT and pass it to the stored procedure parameter IN.
    Any helps are much appreciated. Thanks.

    I doubt that this is possible since it would only calculate this value once the report has data.  This sounds more like a report design question that should be asked over [here|SAP Crystal Reports;

    Hi again,
    1. what problem are u facing ?
      (there is no sapscript symbol / system symbol

    Fatehutl_http.resp is a record type Its defined like this
    TYPE resp IS RECORD (
       status_code    PLS_INTEGER,
       reason_phrase  VARCHAR2(256),
       http_version   VARCHAR2(64));http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/u_http.htm#i1012713
    I would suggest in your table you split the RESPONSE column into 3 different column and store the fields STATUS_CODE, REASON_PHARSE and HTTP_VERSION accordingly.

    Dear vivek,
    how is your work are structure - is it only with single field ?
    In your script after the each value give an extended line comman "=" which will take first and second values for print and after the second value give "line feed" or "carriage return"  command.
    Hope this solves your problem

    Hi all,
    I had Dynamic variable ETLRundate . I want use this variable in Answers page to see the out put ?
    Is it possible to get the value of variable through answers page ?if so how I can use ?

    Hi
    Use the link below and download the documentation
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bi_ee.html
    I think you will find what you are looking for in the Answers, Delivers, and Interactive Dashboards User Guide, but in short the syntax to display a variable value is as follows:
    As shown above the syntax for using a presentation variable is:
    @{variablename}{defaultvalue}
    For Session variables use:
    @{biServer.variables['NQ_SESSION.variablename']}
    For repository variables use:
    @{biServer.variables['variablename']}

  • How to change the value of variable in .bpel file

    Hi,

    Can it be possible with configplan.xml or deployment descriptor?

    You cannot change the value of variable in .bpel file using config plan. If you want to change value at runtime , you can use Preference variable. Below is the blog to help you understand more.

  • How to get the value of a variable in group footer in the report footer also

    I have a placed a formula as below at the group footer and the report footer. The data is grouped on the basis of duedays which is again formula and the value in that is appearing correctly.
    Whilereadingrecords;
    Global Numbervar CNTONE;
    Numbervar P := P+1;
    IF P = 1 AND {@DUEDAYS} = 0
    THEN CNTONE := {spSUPPLIERSOA;1.INVOICEBAL}
    ELSE IF P>1 AND  {@DUEDAYS} = 0
    THEN CNTONE := CNTONE + {spSUPPLIERSOA;1.INVOICEBAL}
    At the group footer I get the value correctly for CNTONE but when I place the formula in Report footer I get the value for CNTONE as 0.
    Please do let me know how I could get the same value in the report footer also.
    Regards
    Sreejith J

    Hi Abhilash;
    When I give the statement whileprintingrecords then my above formula sums up only the first record and the last record of the group and when I give whilereadingrecords it adds up all the data in the group correctly.
    The formula that you mentioned for the report footer had worked out and it is showing my result correctly.
    I did not put up the reset formula on the group footer because as the group changes I had used another variable in another formula for example for the second group I used
    Whilereadingrecords;
    Global Numbervar CNTTWO;
    Numbervar Q := Q+1;
    IF Q = 1 AND {@DUEDAYS} = 30
    THEN CNTTWO := {spSUPPLIERSOA;1.INVOICEBAL}
    ELSE IF Q>1 AND  {@DUEDAYS} = 30
    THEN CNTTWO := CNTTWO + {spSUPPLIERSOA;1.INVOICEBAL}
    I have set up total 5 such formulas as the number of groups that will be formed is 5. I have put up these formulas on the group footer and suppressed it as I dont want to get it displayed.
    The as you suggested the solution for Report Footer I did that and getting the result correctly.
    I dont know I may be following a longer procedure

  • Double click and get and store the value in variable.

    Hi,
    My intention is when i double click a particular record on a tabular, i want to capture or store the particular value of record into a variable and call that variable in print/preview button PLSQL code.
    Below i show the screenshot which contain a tabular and print preview button. After populating the data. the user will double click on the agent code LC354 and click the print/preview button it should display report for only the
    agent code of LC354(this is what i want). But normally when i click the print preview button it wil show the report of agent code of LC354 and LC325(this what i dont want).
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/811/printpb.png/
    My problem is how to capture the value((*LC354*)) of particular record after double click the agent code(*LC354*)?
    i tried to store agent code in variable AG_CNT in mouse double click trigger with following plsql code. but it dosent work.
    declare
    AG_CNT varchar2(10);
    begin
    *AG_CNT* :=GET_ITEM_PROPERTY('RFQ_AGENT_DETAILS.AGENT_CODE',CURRENT_RECORD);
    end;after that pass that AG_CNT value in *:AG_CODE*. below code is in print/preview button.
         cursor c1 is select nvl(count(ENQUIRY_NO),0) from scott.EXP_QUOTE_STATUS
         where ltrim(rtrim(upper(job_status))) like 'APPROVED%' and ENQUIRY_NO = :REQ_FOR_QUOT.ENQUIRY_NO
    AND AGENT_CODE=*:AG_CODE* ;how to do this?
    skud.

    Hi skud
    i juast want to store the agent code to variable.if i did get ur point...
    Why don't u just use a simple assign statment for example...
    DECLARE
    V_VALUE  NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    V_VALUE := LC354 ; -- IF it was a value as LC354 static i mean
    -- or u could use any value
    V_VALUE := :ur_form_item_name; --- if it was dynamic
    END;That's it .
    Hope this helps...
