Prioritized Messages in combination with Event-Driven Message Processing

Hi,
our Scenario (EO): Sender A sends large IDocs to Receivers X and Y (> Split)
1.
What we did first:
Prioritized Message Processing
Sender A sends large Messages, therefore we prioritzied Messages in the IE with EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT > 4000.
This works fine: Messages are queued in XBTL and XBTM and afterwards they are send to Receiver X and Y.
2.
What we did next:
Event-Driven Message Processing
Now we want to send the Message from Sender A to Receiver X directly and to Receiver Y at night time.
We add Event-Driven Message Processing, Sender- and ReceiverID for A and Y,Job and so on...
On it's own (without Prioritized Message Processing), this works fine: The messages are send at night time.
But in combination (Event-Driven + Prioritized Message Processing) the messages only passes the Prioritized Message Processing and the Event-Driven is ignored.
Our "Hop-List" for Split A to Y was:
1. XBTL
2. XBTJ2008...
3. XBTM
But actually all Messages passes:
1.XBTL
2.XBTM
Why are the messages not filtered for the Event-Driven Message Processing (in combination with the Prioritized Message Processing)?

It was an error in the SourceCode and is now corrected by SAP:

Hi Experts,
I am testing IDoc Packaging on Event Driven Message Processing and I got struck at scheduling the job.
My scenario is IDoc to File. I have created sender and receiver id with coresponding interfaces. While creating the message filter I have selected outbound channel --> IDoc Packaging Option n I have took 10 as Package Size in Messages. In SM 36 I have created JOB and in the step I have selected SXMS_START_JOBS.
Now my problem is while creating the JOB in SM36 what condition should I select? How do I test this event driven message processing with IDoc packaging??
Please guide me...

in the event, you should also have a job for RSEOUT00 scheduled so that the IDocs are send out as a package

Event Driven Message Processing in AAE

Hi SDNers,
I wanted to know if PI 7.1 EhP1 supports event driven message processing on AAE, means can I bypass ABAP engine by configuring the scenario with ICo (Integrated Configation) and still use the event driven message processing of PI?

"Event-Driven Message Processing" is concept related to Integration Engine. So if your are using AAE (skipping IE), you cannot use it. [Link1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/7a/00143f011f4b2ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
I think "Event-Driven Message Processing" and ccBPM are not related.

Event driven messaging in XI

Hi All,
We are using event driven messaging configuration in SXMB_ADM transaction to send IDOC in package to R/3.
I have tried to create multiple Msg filters for the same sender and receiver which in turn creates multiple job IDs.
But when we run the test, i see that the first Job execute and the msgs are assigned to the first Job but not all the Job IDs created.
Does XI not allow for multiple filters to be created for same sender and receivers.
pls help!

Packaging required for event-driven message processing

Could you pls. let me know whether message packaging is required for using event-driven message processing in Integration Server (PI).
Also can we use event-driven message processing in Integration Server (PI) for outbound HTTP adapter interface.

What is your scenario and why exactly your are looking for event-based message processing?
Normally those are background jobs which triggers the services(inbuilt ) and makes the process designed by us to run.
In case ofR/3 its possible to do so i.e to trigger messages based on event like incase of proxt to PI can be done through Event-based

Old text messages combining with new text messages

When I send a text message one good message is sent out along with another text message that is a combination of my current message and some random message from months ago that has already been deleted. The message will occasionally also contain CL_IOS. any ideas on why this is happening

That's definitely an odd combination, caseyhemmes. Are you using the default message application? Did you recently activate this device? What was your previous device? Can you please check the following settings: Select your Message application>Menu>Settings>Uncheck Enable signature if currently checked.

Periodic reading data with event driven programming

Hi all
I want to read data from a device periodically, for example every 2 seconds.
but I want to use event driven programming in order to response user events.
now I don't know how to do this......!!
maybe I should use timed loop or timed sequence structure
if I use this structures, should I use then inside the while loop or outside the while loop( I mean the while loop that contains the event cases)?
please help me and accept my thanks....

You ned to run these in two separate loops. Look at the Producer/Consumer template. Put a two second time-out on the Dequeue Element and you have a loop that will run every two seconds. The loop should also handle information from the event structure.
Separate loops is the best way of handling this.

Event Driven Kanban Process

Hi,
I tried to follow the process mentioned from other threads on this subject but with no success.
Scenario:
Header Mtrl: A
Assembly: B [E-D KANBAN]
Assembly: C
There is a requirement for A=100 ea. There must be dep.req generated for B = 100 ea??? as per the event [correct me if I am wrong].
How to exectute the above scenario?
Can anyone guide with the work flow and TCode for the E-D Kanaban.

Apart from all, i think you need to read more about the kanban and how it works.
Generally kanban are used where there is continious flow between 2 workcentres.
ie ) a constant demand and supply .
10 containes flows between 2 workcentres in which one workcentre is supply and another one is demand then kanban is used.
during such situation if you are planing to increase one container just for 1 weeek to meet your increased demand ( like christmas, new year) then Event driven kanban can be used.

How to search for a message or thread with a known message ID in forum?

How to search (or "swich") to a thread with a known ID ? The "Search
Message" yields no results when searching for a message ID. Is there a
other proper way for referencing a thread or message?

If you want to keep the threads for yourself, you can use your favorites menu or the site's bookmarks option.
If you have to transfer the number to some one else, the URL format looks fairly simple -
http:// forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=board number\name&message.id=your number.
if you enter the same board, you will have the board number. This doesn't look like a particularly convenient way, but I don't have a problem with copying and pasting URLs.
The other option would be to do a search, but that is not guranteed to give you an exact answer.

I have a Apple Mac desktop and recently was unable to access any YouTube, movies, videos, etc because a "Blocked Plug-in" message comes up with no error message. It asks to upload Abode Reader, but upon completion of this the message is the same.

if you already downloaded the adobe flash player onto your mac and still getting that message that means you need to finish the installation of the flash player
you do this by opening a finder window and going to your downloads, find the flash player in here and then double click on it and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
after this is completed you will need to completely quit out of the web browser you're using then reopen it for the change to take affect and your issue should be resolved. if it's not you need to contact adobe their number is 800 642-3623.

Report Painter - Characteristic cannot be combined with key figures

I have added a new field (ZZABTEI) to the report structure CCSS and using that field as a characteristic in the report. But when I execute the report, it is giving the error "Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures". Can anyone help me to solve this issue.

There no code for this. I had to add the new field to CCSS structure. Then there were some configuration to be done. Then this message is got when the report in the report painter is executed. The details of this error message is as follows :
Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures
Message no. GR410
Diagnosis
Characteristic ZZABTEI is being used in a report with a key figure that does not match this characteristic.
System Response
The system cancels generation.
Procedure
Check the report definition: the key figures used must be compatible with characteristic ZZABTEI. For examples of useful combinations of characteristics and key figures, see the SAP standard reports.
Technical explanation: The Report Writer table assigned to the report is defined as a view with multiple database tables (somewhat similar to Report Writer table CCSS) and a key figure used in the report refers to a database table which does not contain characteristic ZZABTEI.
Example 1 for table CCSS: If the 'cost' or 'quantity' key figures are used in a report (referring to tables COSP and COSS), you cannot use the 'Statistical key figure' (only occurs in table COSR) characteristic in the rows. On the contrary, using the 'Cost element' (tables COSP and COSS) characteristic is not permitted for the 'Statistical quantity' (table COSR) key figure.
Example 2 for table CCSS: If a report only displays line item data (key figures IE... or PE...), you cannot use the 'PERBL' characteristic, because it is only valid for summary data. You have to use the 'PERIO' characteristic for line item data.

CK727 -Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing

I get below error.
We have KMAT materials and scenario is Non Valuated Sales Order Stock.
in our PPC4 - we have below settings. (Both are SAP recommended)
Qty Structure tab we have Pass on Lot size "1" with individual requirements (must of Non Valuated Sales) and
Transfer Control "PC03" has "Current Std Cost" with "Transfer only with Collective requirements"
I just created a mixed cost qty structure. In it I even added Costing type "01". Sales order costing type is "18".
Mixed costing works as expected. However we are unable to create any Sales Orders.
Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing

Diagnosis
For costing variant PPC4 and costing version 01, it was defined in Customizing that a mixed cost estimate should be created for quantity structure category M0001. At the same time, it was defined in the costing variant that the Pass_on_lot_size function should be active.
System Response
Mixed costing cannot be carried out simultaneously with Pass on lot size . Costing cannot be proceeded with.
Any help is appreciated.

In the standard program the combination of mixed costing and
simultaneously pass on lot size is not possible.
Please review SAP Notes 402440, 584420 and 749128 .
In particular the SAP Note 402440 describes the determination of the
costing lot size at a mixed costing in detail.

Event-Driven Programming

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum and also new to event-driven programming. Anyways, I am doing a small exercise to get myself familiar with event-driven programming. In particular, the program responds to keys entered on a keyboard. The exercise in a way resembles how a second hand moves in a clock. So, here's what I am trying to do. Originally the hand points at 12 o'clock. when I press the right arrow key the hand should move 6 degrees to the right and when I press the left arrow key the hand should move 6 degrees to the left. The code I have so far seems fairly correct to me but when I run the program and press the arrow keys on my keyboard nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

}3) For key listeners to work, the component must have the focus, and JPanels don't get focus by default. You have to call setFocusable(true) first and then request focus in window on the JPanel.

Wpf: Event driven vs MVVM design pattern

I'm a beginning coder and I've been working on a WPF app for several months now and struggled to implement anything in MVVM due to time constraits to learn so I coded my program the only way to knew how: with code behind, tight coupling, and a whole bunch of
spaghetti code.
My program has grown into 20,000+ lines of messy (but working) code that is mostly event driven. The app I am building will probably be used and continue to be developed for years to come, but I will be the only one working on the code.
However, now that I have time to start learning MVVM, I'm wondering how useful it really is to follow the MVVM pattern. I'm considering refactoring my code into the MVVM pattern but everything seems 100x difficult to do with little documentation. With using
code behind and tight coupling, I can make the UI do exactly what I want it to do and everything seems like it can be coded so much faster through the event-driven methods.
How important is it to follow the MVVM design pattern for WPF apps, especially in the long run? Do you think it's a good idea for me to invest my time to redesigning this app and following an MVVM pattern?

20k lines is a lot.
That will mean maintenance will be a significant overhead.
Anything making maintenance harder will mean maintenance takes longer.
If you're going to do any serious wpf development ( and 20k lines is serious imo) then you should be using mvvm.
The thing is though, it's different.
You will need to learn it before it becomes second nature and doesn't appear to be an overhead.
It isn't true that "everything" can be coded so much faster with event driven methods.
In fact a number of things are way easier to do using mvvm rather than code behind.
If that isn't enough to persuade you.
Teams use MVVM.
Go to an interview and tell your prospective team lead you think mvvm is no good and you may as well not go to the interview.
If it becomes obvious in an interview you haven't learnt mvvm then you will not be chosen.
Teams also use automated testing.
This is nigh on impossible with code behind and one of the selling points of mvvm.
You can test without instantiating a view which means you can run thousands of fast tests in seconds.
That means you can make changes safe in the knowledge you're not breaking stuff you haven't worked on.
It means someone else in the team doesn't break your code without realising.
Since UI and code are decoupled you can makes changes to either or both rather easier - that decoupling = flexibility.
As your code base grows then re-factoring becomes MASSIVELY faster if you have automated tests in place and your layers are loosely coupled.
I don't know about this paraticular app you have because I don't know almost anything about it.
If you plan on doing professional wpf development then I suggest you re-adjust your opinions on MVVM.

Problem with PSE9 - Receiving message window - CAHeadless Debuger Event.

In my last request for Technical support (Case # : 0181931685), I have 2 problems. One about inability to remove PSE9 and reinstalling was corrected by following instructions from Tech.Support. The second problem is still with me. The message window CAHeadless Debuger Event is poping up with the message ...\...\Src\DataManager.cpp-410. The window is having one button <Continue>. When I press the Continue button, everithing work and look OK until next time the windows pop-ups. The computer is new Dell Studio 8100 running OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64. Originaly I started using PSE9 on old Dell with Windows 7 Home premium 32 without any problem. Any advice how to stop this un-plessant message comming?

this case is closed it was catalog issue. I corrected this by creating new catalog and importing pictures from hard drive. All is now correct.
