Privilege issue

Hi,
This is actually a PL/SQL question and I don't know any PL/SQL discussion forum's. This was a little urgent so i am posting my question here. I will be glad if someone helps me out with this.
I have a package say TESTME_PKG. The owner of this package is say CLOUD. All the objects in this package are owned by CLOUD.I have a role created called THUNDER,created in this fashion.
create role THUNDER;
grant create session, alter session to THUNDER;
I have this another user say MIST.
GRANT THUNDER TO MIST WITH admin OPTION;
Now my problem is, when I execute this package, TESTME_PKG using EXECUTE TESTME_PKG.<Procedure Name>, it works great, but when I use to execute this package using DBMS_JOB, it gives me a message saying " PLS-00201: identifier 'TESTME_PKG' must be declared".
This is how my code to execute using DBMS_JOB is defined.
declare
jobno number;
begin
dbms_job.submit(jobno,'TESTME_PKG.runme;',sysdate+1/1440);
commit;
end;
I have also granted execute privilege in this manner,
grant execute on TESTME_PKG to THUNDER.
Why am I able to execute this package using the execute command from MIST user and why am I NOT able to execute using DBMS_JOB from MIST user.
Can any one help me with this?
Thanks

  • Grant sequence privilege issue

    Hi,
    OS is windows server 2008
    Database oracle 11g r2
    i have created a schema with name SME having DBA privilege from SME i have created another user SME_USER using the same tablespace of SME with limited privileges. The sequence was created in SME user. I am accessing the tables from SME schema. I have given insert privilege to one of the table in SME to SME_USER,but while insertiing we are using the sequnece with name IPSRNO from SME schema. Now when i tried to insert value inot the table from SME_USER its giving me the output "Sequence does not exist". I have given the grant select privilege for sequence IPSRNO.
    Please guide me on this issue.
    Regards,
    Bobby

    See Using Synonyms in DML Statements in the DBA guide
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/views003.htm
    >
    You can successfully use any private synonym contained in your schema or any public synonym, assuming that you have the necessary privileges to access the underlying object, either explicitly, from an enabled role, or from PUBLIC. You can also reference any private synonym contained in another schema if you have been granted the necessary object privileges for the underlying object.
    You can reference another user's synonym using only the object privileges that you have been granted. For example, if you have only the SELECT privilege on the jward.emp table, and the synonym jward.employee is created for jward.emp, you can query the jward.employee synonym, but you cannot insert rows using the jward.employee synonym.
    A synonym can be referenced in a DML statement the same way that the underlying object of the synonym can be referenced. For example, if a synonym named employee refers to a table or view, then the following statement is valid:
    INSERT INTO employee (empno, ename, job)
    VALUES (emp_sequence.NEXTVAL, 'SMITH', 'CLERK');
    If the synonym named fire_emp refers to a standalone procedure or package procedure, then you could execute it with the command
    EXECUTE Fire_emp(7344);

  • Privilege issues in Discoverer 10g

    Hi All,
    For some weired reason, I am encountering these problems using discoverer 10g:
    1) two identically set up/privileged users one working (can see business areas) and one not (cannot see business areas) ?
    2) BA viewable in web client but not desktop?
    Please let me know if you have any more questions.
    Thanks.

    Thx for the response Tamir. Yes the security and the privileges have been set up as expected using Tool -> options.
    We use db users since its a stand alone set up. The BA's have been shared to both the users the same way but for some reason they dont work the same manner.
    The second issue is even weired. I was wondering if other users may have come across similar issue. Just wondering.
    Thanks.

  • Can anyone help me with sufficient privileges issue

    Can anyone help me with sufficient privileges issue

    Helping with permissions often requires we know the specific error you find: what program, for example, and what you were doing when told you didn't have privileges.
    If you are running a standard account, you have to get back to the admin acct to make changes. If you are not eh administrator for that computer, find out who is.
    If you are in an admin account, trying a "Repair Permissions" can sometime resolve the issues. Find Disk Utility in Applications > Utilities. Select the indented name of your hard drive, then click the "Repair Permissions" button:
    In OS10.4 this usually under a 2-minute operation. You will probably see a lot of entries in the Reulsts pane but you can ignore those.

  • Help, permissions and privileges issue.

    Hi to all,
    Suddenly a few days ago, quitting Photoshop I received the following warning: "+Preferences can not be saved because you do not have necessary privileges+". Quite strange ... I'm using PSD since long time.
    So, going to see the privileges settings for PSD's preference file, I've found the set in this order:
    (Group) Everyone -> custom
    (User) me ............ -> +Writing and reading+
    (Group) Everyone -> +only reading+
    So simply deleting this "bad" preference file, I had not problems anymore. And then I got the new PSD's pref file with just me as user and the group everyone. Ok.
    Then I ran a "repair privileges" without finding out any problems a part with a couple of JavaWM files.
    Unfortunately then I found that many applications gave similar permissions' troubles. In other words, I can't update my preferences' files. And if I check these files I always find a double groups "everyone": the first one with "custom", the other one only "Reading" (and me as user with w-r).
    Opening an app that gave preferences error warning, I tried to assign for the group everyone-custom the Read and write permissions and reopening that app everything was fine. But it's not a right solution, I know.
    So at this point I don't know how to solve my problem. Surely I cannot delete all my preferences' files !
    I have a recent "good" backup. I could restore the entire Preference folder. But maybe is there a better way ? Or is there any other check to prevent a similar very annoying issue ?
    Thanks and cheers,

    Great.
    Searching and reading in this forum, I found another post about same issue.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa;jsessionid=1D85FFDB1B589AFF1D9EFE2943E5 353C.node0?messageID=11502097&#11502097
    The only problem was about the sudo command in Terminal.
    Using "sudo chmod -RN /Users/short_name" as suggested, I got invalid argument.
    But using "sudo chmod -N *" then "cd Library" and "sudo chmod -N *" and then "cd Preferences" ... then again "sudo chmod -N *" I've cleared ACL.
    Finally, booting up from Leopard DVD, choosing "Reset Password" from the Utilities menu and there "Repair home folder permissions" did the job.
    Now all preferences' files have only one group as "everyone" (and me as user of course).
    Cheers,

  • Mac mini sudden death after access privilege issue.

    Good Afternoon,
    I have a Mac mini running OSX 10.5.8.
    Today, I noticed that I couldn't access the Macintosh HD drive on the desktop as I did not have sufficient privileges. When I got-info on the drive, in sharing and permissions, I saw that "admin" suddenly had write-only privileges.
    I could not 'unlock' the padlock to change the settings, it wouldn't react or ask for a password or anything. (I am the admin on the mini).
    So I thought maybe it's just a restart needed; we run it for quite long times without a shut down.
    Now it won't get past the gray Apple with spinner boot screen.
    I've tried removing it from the mains to check if maybe the RAM would 'reset' or anything, but that hasn't helped.
    Then, I got my OSX installation DVD to attempt booting into the repair function but, as I have the bluetooth keyboard, it won't register the keyboard at the early stage in the boot process - I cannot hold down C or other keys to boot into anywhere.
    Having researched a bit, I came across others who also met this combination of issues, but none involving Macintosh HD itself and still being able to get to the gray Apple screen.
    Any ideas on how to take it from here?

    Hi- Stupid question, but did you actually try it? It should work, as the bluetooth drivers are one of the first things loaded before the apple logo even appears.
    Power off, power on, hold down the C key (or the option key), and you should be accessing the install dvd with no problems.
    Failing that, perhaps you can borrow a USB keyboard from the office or from a friend, and then do it from there.

  • Attempting to update flash: Privileges issue

    OS: Mac OSX 10.7.5 (Lion)
    Browser: Firefox 22.0
    Plugin version: Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700
    My Role (on my computer): Administrator
    Firefox is no longer auto-loading Flash anywhere on the web for me-- ironically, including the popups here on the Flash Forum's WYSIWYG editor.
    Each Flash instance contains a blank placeholder and a link to the Firefox Plugin Status page (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/), which indicates that my current Flash plugin (11.7 r700) makes my computer vulnerable.
    Clicking their "Update Now" button sends me to Adobe's Flash installation page (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) where clicking the "Download Now" button quickly downloads the standard disk image and installer for Adobe Flash Player.
    Running the installer and then entering my (correct) user name and password has repeatedly returned the following error message:
    "Host
    The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player."
    I've seen questions about this throughout the forums, but no helpful response or guidance on fixing this extremely annoying issue. Can anyone help?
    Much gratitude in advance.

    I understand that you might find these steps repeating but please try the exact steps as mentioned below.
    Download the appropriate uninstaller from the following page: Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
    Close all browser windows, mount and run the uninstaller
    Restart OS X
    Delete all remaining files and folders locating in the following folders:
    \Library\Internet Plug-Ins\Flash Player.plugin
    \Library\Internet Plug-Ins\flashplayer.xpt
    ~\Library\Preferences\Macromedia\Flash Player\
    ~\Library\Caches\Adobe\Flash Player\
    At this point, Flash Player should be fully removed from your system.  To download the most recent version of the Player for installation, please visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    One the installer is downloaded close all browser windows, mount and run the installer.

  • Permission/Privilege Issues With Mac OS Lion

    I created a new user account after I installed Lion, transferred my files over, and now I'm having issues with my account. I don't know if permissions and privilages are responsible for the issues, but seemingly so. I also have to mention that when I was changing over user accounts, I ended up wanting to change the short names on both my old and new accounts, so I used the root user to do so. Here are some problems I've been experiencing:
    - When I open system preferences, it always opens up to the General pane. No matter what.
    - After restarting, certain windows that I had open at a certain time keep opening up, no matter if I closed them out and had completely new windows open.
    - Preferences in certain applications will not save. Audacity opens up each time I start my computer, there is a tick box for show this screen when starting Audacity, I untick it, but it still opens up each time. Photoshop gives me a message that my preferences can't be saved because I don't have the right privilages. Textedit keeps opening up to a certain file I had open a couple of days ago, and when I try to save a new document, it gives me an error. Safari only remembers history from a couple of days ago. And when I try to reset Safari, and reopen it, the same old history is displayed.
    - When I try to move files to my desktop or to the Trash, I have to authenticate it.
    I tried Repairing the disk, repairing permissions, inserting my Mac os leopard disk and doing the same, and using the Reset Password utility on the Mac os installation disk to repair permissions to my home folder, but nothing is working.

    Hi everyone, I have found a solution. This worked for me:
    1) Create a new user account. Make sure it has a desireable name, otherwise you're going to want to change it later, and that will cause permission issues. (check if preferences are saving in this temporary new account, if not, I can't help you.)
    2) Transfer all the files you want to keep by putting them in the SHARED folder.
    3) Change permissions to the folders and files in your shared folder by right clicking and clicking on GET INFO. Then go to the very bottom of the popup menu and unlock the picture of the lock. Next change permissions so that your new account will have permission to view the files. You might have to add your new account to the list by pressing the plus button, or simply allow staff the read and right, or just let everyone read and right. Next click on the gear menu (the one with the little gear on it.) and click on APPLY TO ENCLOSED ITEMS.
    4) Go to your new user account and take the things in the shared folder and put them where you had them in your older account.
    Now you have a new user with the files you want, the permissions right, and preferences will save!
    I really really really hope this works for you. I know how extremely frustrating it was. It worked for me, and I am so relieved now.

  • Privilege issue Mac Mini

    I have an old Mac Min (2ghz 1gb) running 10.5.2.  I had loads of stuff I didn't want on there, so was advised to delete the account holders and create a new Admin which I have done, giving me back all my storage space with new Admin account holder.
    HOWEVER, software update is now telling me to download the 10.5.8 combined update (and as the loaded Itunes in the dock needs a newer version of Quick time to work) I have tried to download this update.
    I have tried using the Mac Minis' update system and keep getting the same message - about not having appropriate access privileges to install the item.
    I have tried downloading directly from the Apple website and it downloads but says
    " Installer is damaged.  Installer is unable to open the package. This is likelly due to Install framework's runner executable not having the proper ownership and/or permissions."
    I have done a disk utility to verify and repair everything I can.
    I have checked the Hard Drive Sharing and Permissions and Admin does have Read and Write.
    What have I missed.

    Things just got worse.
    Thought I would try and find the old Admin account and the following..
    in single user mode entered the command : mount -uw /and when I entered the 2nd command : rm /var/db/.AppleSetUpdone
    it didn't work. When I tried to restart my MAC it kept going to the start up screen and just keeps on restarting over and over again. PLEASE HELP

  • PIM Item upload - Item Organization assignment access privilege issue

    After doing my analysis and scanning through Oracle Support website, I am posting this question here.
    Scenario: Item 100 was created in org X by user A using PIM Item Upload. Now, a user B is trying to create the same item in org Y and getting the error INV_IOI_ITEM_ORGASSIGN_PRIV. If the same user A tries to create the item in org Y, it works fine without any issue.
    I have checked that the ICC definition (Development Manager -> Setup -> Setup Workbench) has all users added under the People tab.
    I am sure I am missing a basic step here that will allow a user B to create an item 100 created by a user A in org X in a different org B. Please advise.
    Edited by: 881114 on Nov 8, 2012 6:56 AM

    Sir,
    For this program the two value sets used are
    INV_ITEMASSIGN_HIER_ORIGIN (this is C1 for u)
    INV_ITEMASSIGN_HIER_WITH_SRC (this is not showing the expected value) this is dependent value sent and is checking that INV_ORGHIERARCHY_PVT is contained in the previous value set.
    Can you please confirm that the responsibility from which you are running the request has the C2 organization access?
    Thanks
    Karthik.

  • Please help - external hard drive security / privileges issue.

    Yesterday while messing around with my mac I stupidly changed a setting I can't seem to remedy.
    I may have somehow selected an obscure security / privileges option, most likely within the 'get info' option and now my external hard drive icon is not visible on my desktop so I can reselect it to unselect the setting. I know its ok because 'disk first aid' can verify its presence but I can't see it.
    Urgently need access as I have data i need to retrieve.
    Please help.
    G4 OS 10.4

    I`m a little confused. Disk First Aid is a utility from MacOS 9.
    Do you mean disk utility ?
    If yes, in the upper line is a button for unmounting a disk. I don`t want to try it, but is it possible that a unmounted disk can be mounted again ?
    I just found out, that when you move the cursor over the button, it says: unmount or mount a disk. Maybe that`s it.

  • Apex load data privilege issue

    Hi All
    I use apex to load a csv file into oracle11gr2
    However, the table is created under the apex user's schema user and the apex user cannot see the table.
    This is not the same behavior as in apex.oracle.com or they use a trigger to create synonym and grant synonym for that table?
    Is there a standard package I can run to fix this?
    -Thanks so much for the help
    help still need I mark the message as answer by mistake!
    Edited by: xwo0owx on Mar 29, 2011 3:19 PM

    Yes We can create a synony for a trigger like this
    Create or replace trigger test before insert on emp
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('Hi');
    end;
    Create the trigger in scott schema
    and connect to apps schema and create a synonym like this
    create public synonym test for scott.test;
    or
    create synonym test1 for scott.test;
    And also view this example
    I have created a trriger on CREATE,in which i m giving execute immediate command for creating a synonym and using
    dbms_job.submit .
    it is not giving any error but its not creating any synonym on the table...
    code:
    create or replace trigger bdesai.DR_CRA
    after CREATE OR DROP on bdesai.schema
    declare
    l_str varchar2(255);
    l_str1 varchar2(255);

    dbms_job.submit( l_job, replace(l_str,'"','''') );
    dbms_job.submit( l_job, replace(l_str1,'"','''') );
    END IF;
    WHEN 'DROP' THEN
    if ( ora_dict_obj_type = 'TABLE') then
    l_str := 'execute immediate "revoke select on bdesai.'
    ||ora_dict_obj_name ||' from eqhub_developer";';
    l_str1 := 'execute immediate "drop synonym

    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(replace(l_str,'"',''''));
