Probably asked before: debugging external AS files

Ive searched and searched first off so I didnt just directly
add a new post
I cant for the life of me debug my actionscript classes.
I have an AS file with an existing package so it created a
folder with the actionscript file inside. The actionscript file has
a class and a method inside the class and it errors out and in the
debugger it says:
Source Not found. [Button]Edit Source Lookup Path...[/Button]
and when I do so and point to the folder where my actionscript
class is it doesnt do anything and cant debug it. Ive tried a LOT
of different things like:
Right Click on the Project > Properties > Flex Build
Path > Source Path > Add Folder > Pointed to my class
folder > OK
Compiled it and has a huge amount of compile errors basically
describing duplicate definitions.
So then I tried removing the generated folder from the
project and just keeping my 'source path' folder there but then the
source path is empty and none of my source files existed anymore.
Guess I was trying to 'exlude' the AS files and point a source path
to it in hopes that I can debug my AS classes. I dont know why its
giving me this error now but its getting to point of frustration
that I almost cannot deal with it ontop of the many other issues I
have with Flex Builder. If anyone could PLEASE help, I would
greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Hello Experts,
I have a problem with the transaction me23n, the procedure is as follows:
me23n -> Purchase Order -> other purchase order -> I type the order number -> Messages -> Edit --> display originals.
before I had a window that appears and asks me to open, save or cancel the pdf file. the last time I had to uncheck the check box "Always ask before opening this type of file", and since that time when I click on "display Originals" that close SAP.
do you have an idea please, to reactivate the check box "Always ask before opening this type of file".

Its a windows option only . What is your OS ..In XP you can reset this using File Types tab of Folder Options.

Probably asked before-Can't install

I may have deleted fonts that are needed by Illustrator. Now when I launch
Illustrator CS2 it does not stay open. I just want to reinstall it alone. I've put in my CS serial numbers and tried my CS2 serial numbers but when I get to the install section Installation
Options, Selected Components, all components are grayed out and I can't go
any further. Photoshop CS2, InDesign CS2 and Acrobat all
work fine.
Of course Adobe support is not available without paying for it.

if i have a problem, i call Adobe, tell them my license and want to hear a solution.
we bought the download option of CS3 and still one year after i´m not able to install In Design as part of CS3. I were asking for a Installation disk which probably could solve the problem but they want me to pay for it.
the problem is that they do everything to stop piracy on their software - good idea, but they forgot a lot of stuff.
for example users who bought expensive software and suffering with problems. all this licensing and registration stuff for example is quirky. maybe a "stone-age" dongle would even do better.
once, i had to change the Read/Write access for my sys volume on mac for a certain reason, immediately everything of CS3 apps where screwed up. but all other non-adobe apps stay intact.
support solutions did not help. i stuck in the middle of a project, nobody at adobe did care about.
this was no hardware problem or misconfigured OS, its their fault.
i wrote several mails to any adress i could find, nobody wrote back or called me back, maybe just to say "hey, we´re sorry for that BS that happened"
go for support, its your customers right if software that you have bought for cash is screwed up or buggy.
nobody is perfect, but we´re speaking here of preofessional software.
i do not care if apple did mistakes or adobe overlooked something. they stay in business togehter and it´s about money! huge amount of money!
yes, i may be a bit negative person about this, but i´ve seen so many software BS in the last three years, i can´t count it.

I have an idea to use the input text field the check the variable/function is working right but this is not enough so is there any process in AS2 or AS3.

2.1 EA1: Externally Modified files - Debugging.layout Editing.layout

Hi Team,
I'm working with 3 instances of SQL Developer 1. for Development Environment 2. Production Environment (different color theme red) 3. Userdefined Reports Session monitoring (yellow).
Now I always get a popup window "Externally Modified Files" with checkboxes for "Reload Selected Files" C:\....Debugging Layout, C:\...Editing Layout. When I deselect them and click ok I get the popup again every few minutes.
1. What does this mean...?
2. What to do to save my preferences changed in one instance so that the other instances are based on this settings on the next restart?

There is a slightly simpler way to have 3 different settings directories without creating 3 different installs. You can create 3 shortcuts for the sqldeveloper.exe. In each one, give a program argument of -J-Dide.user.dir=<directory>. Each shortcut will then launch SQL Developer with a different settings directory so that you can have your distinct settings.
The -J argument on the command-line or in the program arguments of a shortcut just tells SQL Developer that the rest of the argument should be passed to Java and not handled by the launcher. It is equivalent to using the AddVMOption command in the conf file.

Always ask before opening this type of file - IE11

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with Internet Explorer and they way it handles opening file from the Internet. Sometimes it gives a prompt like this:
Which is great, I want to turn this on for all common document types (e.g. PDF, Word Docs, Zips). What I've found is you have to either untick the option 'Always ask before opening this type of file', or delete a registry key in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\AttachmentExecute
When I check my PC I find I don't have that option and the registry keys aren't present.
Could someone clarify this for me? I'm running IE11 and Windows 7.

Orarrp, IE file download dialog screen always asks before opening

orarrp 1.3.4 working, but under IE5.5, the File Download dialog
screen is activated when the web.show_document(<url>,'_BLANK')
call is made, where the extension of the file is ".rrpa".
The checkbox which reads "Always ask before opening this type of
file" is checked and disabled. This means that user intervention
is always required.
When I open the .rrpa file directly in IE (the file is available
on a locally attached drive -- that is, not as a URL at this
point), IE opens and immediately prints the .rrpa file.
Obviously the restrictions here are based on internet security
settings, however, I've been unable to overcome this problem.
There do not seem to be options in IE, nor in the
characteristics of the file types themselves.
Question: How do I set my environment to enable the "Always
ask ...." check box, so it can be uncheck?

I have no solution to my problem -- just more research results.
From MS's support database, article Q232077, IE has a
predefined, hard-coded list of file extensions that it
inherently distrusts, which results in the "Always ask before
opening" option to be checked and grayed out. The hard-coded
list does NOT include orarrp extensions (such as .rrpa), but
instead, extensions like .exe, .com, .bat, .cmd.
Nonetheless, ".rrpa" is still seems to be treated as a
permanently distrusted application -- I do not know why.
To quote the aforementioned article: "[T]he File Download dialog
box is not preventable in any way. This includes the use of HTML
tags, script in the page, hosting the WebBrowser control, and
changing security zone options."
The article does go on to describe IE/Windows only solutions:
<IFRAME> tag pointing to a shared Windows directory using MS's
UNC; and ActiveX/cab construction and deployment. Clearly,
neither is a solution.
I can't quite conclude that there is no solution under IE, but
its close.

The problem is every time I try to copy a page from a website or attachment sent to me or anything that I don't create, the dialog box says I have to save it before I can print -- there are no other options on the dialog box. Very frustrating -- one of the girls in my office is having the same problem and we can't find a way around it.

How to read in text string pairs from an external txt file?

I have an external txt file containing 26000 pairs of strings in the format
string1a   string1b
string2a   string2b
string26000a string26000b
all strings are always 4 characters in length. For example,
a123   jkdh
b456   uusp
How can use TestStand 2013 to input this data into local string array varaibles? I also have legacy testers running TestStand 3.5, so I need a TestStand 3.5 solution as well. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Hopefully this can be done in TestStand without the use of LabView or LabWindows/CVI.

     It is very frustrating to have to implement workarounds in order to access text in an external file when using TestStand. TestStand already reads in text ini files, so it would probably take a TestStand software developer all of 1/2 day to write the code and 1/2 day to debug it. Here I will restate the obvious. Engineers have to deal with data, sometimes data generated from other applications. Sharing data in a text file is one of the most basic functions (and one of the easiest to implement). When I think of all the effort needed to support ActiveX, but NI did not see it fit to give TestStand users simple text file read/write functionality, it does not make sense to me. Maybe it was too simple or mundane a task so it did not get developed? Whatever the reason, I think users of TestStand deserve this basic functionality.
     Even if TestStand cannot read the data directly into array variables, it should provide some mechanism to read the text from the file, either line by line or all file text into a string, so the data could then be parsed into the array variables I need.
     I will pursue a CVI or LabView solution. Please also know that I am not directing these comments at you, I do appreciate your reply.

Need advice on retrieving Bitlocker Key or External Key File Location

My Windows 8.1 PC includes a system drive and data drives. All the drivers were encrypted using Bitlocker with the data drives set for autounlock.
I recently decrypted the system drive (without decrypting the data drives, <very bad>) and reinstalled the OS, after which my data drives required the Bitlocker recovery key to unlock.
However, I had "backed up" the recovery keys to my Microsoft account but now I cannot find them.
I have tried to use the "manage-bde" command at the console to obtain the Recovery Keys but I am only getting the Numerical Password ID and the External Key File Name. Can anyone provide advice on how I can retrieve the recovery passwords
or the External Key File location?
Before I had set the data drives to autounlock I had used a recovery password to unlock the drives. However, now when I try to unlock the data drives only the recovery key (which I don't have) is being requested not the password.

How do I find the width of an external swf file that I am loading in

I have loaded in an external swf file and it works fine.
However, when I get the width dimensions of the movieclip that is housing the external swf file it gives me a '0' for the width.

you must wait until loading is complete before trying to access the loaded objects width. at that point you can determine the width,height of the onstage/backstage objects in frame 1 of the loaded swf.

Lightroom won't ask how to edit a file when I select "edit in Photoshop CS6"

Yesterday Lightroom suddenly stopped asking how I want the file edited when I select "edit in Photoshop". I opens the file directly in Photoshop without asking do I want to "edit with Lightroom changes", "edit a copy", or "edit original".
I've tried finding a setting to turn this on or off and found nothing. I've tried shutting down. I've even tried removing and reloading both Photoshop and Lightroom. As far as I can tell it has defaulted to always opening with LR edits.
I'm using Lightroom 5.3 and Photoshop CS6 extended version 13.0. I ran updates on both after reloading yesterday. I'm using the Mac versions of the software.

Is it possible that you've switched to using Raw (or DNG) files? There is a different process when using a Raw file versus using a rendered file such as Jpeg, Tiff, PSD....and it's only the latter file-types which will prompt the "Edit a copy, Edit original, etc" question. If the ACR levels are compatible (which they will be if your ACR plug-in for PS CS6 is up-to-date) then there will be NO question when using "Edit In...." on a Raw/DNG file, the file is rendered automatically in the background by Photoshop's ACR plug-in, when you then "Save" in PS the now-rendered file (Tiff or PSD, depending on your external editing preference setting) will appear back in Lightroom.

External js file to be included into web template (2004s)

Hi everyone,
I was trying to include an external javascript file into a web application. The code was to be included in a script item (which I'd like to keep that way, for maintainability's sake) and then to call a function from the included file (which I had included with a script tag manually added to the page's XHTML code).
The problem is that the code in the script item gets put infront of every other XHTML item, so the functions will not yet be available at the time of execution. Is there a different way to include javascript without having to manually post the script item code into the XHTML body?

I keep my code in a script item, but would like to store parts of it in a separate file (so I don't have to worry about duplicating), so what's the way to go in order to have the external file included before my script item code gets called (without having to wait for window.onLoad to kick in)?
