I have two pages Page A and B. One can navigate from A to B by clicking a commandLink below
<h:commandLink action="employerViewDetailPostedJobs">

</h:commandLink>Problem is i am findind it hard to obtain the jobId in Page B by using
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestMap().get("*jobId*")any suggestions would be appreciated

Actually, in your original post you used ExternalContext.getRequestMap(), not ExternalContext.getRequestParameterMap(). They both exist and there is a difference.

I'm using RichFaces drag and drop support and I want to pass an additional parameter so that I can access it's value when processing the dragged/dropped object.
My JSP has:

The first time I drag an object, the param value is null on the bean. The second time, it has the value it should have for the first dragged object, and so on.
Apparently the param value is being updated after the drop event method is called. Any ideas on how to change this please?

To solve this problem I used <f:param> instead of actionParam:
On the drag support component:

Rendering hyperlinks using h:commanLink and setting f:param values

dear friends,
I want to render some hyperlinks with <h:commandLink>
and then I want to set the <f:params > value of each hyperlink
all those things are stored in a ArrayList whose values depends on
parameter that I want to pass through another JSF or JSP page
I have alredy tried combination of JSTL and JSF tags it is working
properly
but there is one problem when page loads for the first time
no hyperlink gets renderd on page after refreshing page it shows all those hyperlink s

This is a horrible way to return the contents of a table.
Are you doing this for educational purpose, or ... what is your goal here? If you just want to return a result set to a client you'd want to look in to using a REF CURSOR and not a bunch of arrays combined with horribly procedural (slow) code.

So i want to pass the URL behind the link to the applet as a Request Param..

Problem with Selection screen values of an authorization variable

hi Gurus,
I have an authorization variable for Division in my queries....Now whenever a user tries to run the query...a list of divisions is available to him....All divisions for which he/she has proper roles assigned.
Now the problem is that these values are not restricted to the ones relevant to that query (namely the multi provider)
Eg. for a Flowers Query (divisions relevant to Flowers only) all the divisions (including the ones for Vegetables, Crops etc.) are also visible only because these roles are also assigned to the same user. This needs to be avoided.
In a nutshell....
Is their any way by which i can restrict the number of values popping up for an authorization variable in the selection screen, to only those values which are relevant to the info-provider on which the queries are based ???

I did go through that SAP note. I just have one concern regarding that. The check at the Info provider level is clear enough and i already have that in place. Now there are 2 more checks required a) at the info object level and b) at the BEX designer level.
Are all three checks required???
and also how do you place the check at the BEX level??? i could not quite figure that one out...

System-property in param-value?

Is it possible to use a system-property override in a param-value element in the cache config? It doesn't seem to work for me. I have this:

Setting -Dfoo.expiry-delay=1m on the command line doesn't take effect. I've also tried putting a default in param-value and it works, but not the override. What I'm trying to do is use the same scheme for different caches, but parameterize the expiry for each.

I just ran in to an inconvenient quirk. I thought I would be nice to add system properties for a number of caches so they will be there when I need them. I had something like this:
In the cache mapping:

Changing init-param value for servlet filter after deployment

Is it possible to change the <param-value> of a servlet filter's <init-param> for a deployed app through Weblogic Console? Can't seem to find a place in the console where this is exposed.
The <init-param> of course is specified in web.xml as:

Problem when defaulting a value to the field

Hi CRM Experts,
I am new to CRM, i am facing a problem when defaulting a value to the field in the Tcode 'SOLMAN_WORKCENTER' (Solution Manager Server).
when i am defaulting it is displaying fine in the view( Redefined the getter method there i passed the value), i set a break point in the getter method when i am executing the getter method i am unable to get the defaulted value in the importing parameter value, but i am getting the value here when i used to type manually in the filed, i cant understand why it is behaving like that? please can any body help in this regard...

There are other ways to get the string-value of an enum (format into string with a %s formatter for instance).
But I have no idea what you are seeing.
However I would not use the enum to string technique chose you have, just add the enum to the 'file' VI as an input.
And the =0 comparison you have is useless, add the enum to the case structure as the selector.

Problem to fetch aquisition value

hi,
i am facing the problem to fetch aquisition value.
my smart form working fine if equipment is not goes for AUC settlement but when it goes for settlement then i m not getting the aquisition value for deptt.
since after settlement equipment assign with a new asset number. so i m not getting the exect field to get the aquistion value.
b4 that i m using aqistion value for deptt is kansw from anlc table but it fails under settlement.
i got one field AIBN1 in ANLA for new asset number under settlement but not sure about the amount that where it will b.
since in our dev system data is not there so i m not sure that where i will get the aquision value, i hav track one field in ANLA (URWRT) or field will be same KANSW for new asset number in ANLC..
please help me if u can?

RDC has been deprecated since version 9 meaning no new functionality has been added to it. Cascading Parameters were added in CR 11.
There is no set of API's to access these types of Parameters at this time.

How to open a report without refreshing and sending some param value

we have a summary report which has links to the detail report.For example the summary report has data like
Countries        EmployeeCount
UK                5
US                6
China                7
Total                18
When we click on China it must show the Employees whose country is China (detail report) When we click on Total it shows Employee of all countries UK,US,China...
Now when we run the summary report online say at 5:10 it shows the staus of countries at 5:10.Say the report is open while an employee of china is moved from China to Uk.But when we open the detail report it shows China count as 6 which should actually be 7 according to the summary report run time.
A similar problem exist when we schedule the report .When we schedule the summary report and detail report at same time..And then try to open the scheduled instance of detail report from summary scheduled instance ,It only works fine if no parameter is passed to openDocument url.
Say suppose I click China on summary report the Value China should be passed to detail report as Country.But whenever we try to open a scheduled instance of Detail Report along with a parameter using openDocument Url.It refreshes the whole data even though refresh is set to 'N'.So the scheduled data is lost..Even if we try for Drillfilters in detail Report we cannot set it at runtime using open document Url.

Having problem to get the value from radio button

i am doing my double module project for my degree course and i am also a newbie in JSP. Hope there is someone can help me to solve this problem. Now, i set the value of a radio button to "don't smoke", "smoke lightly", and "smoke heavily". Then i use request.getParameter ("smoking behavior") to get the value selected by the user, but the result is only "don't" or "smoke", which the character after spacing will be not be retrieved. I dun know how to solve it, so can any expert here help me to solve this problem? Thanks for helping.

Why do you have to use whitespace. If your radio button group is name smokingBehavior - no whitespace, wouldn't it just make sence to have values of don't, lightly and heavily. This would solve the problem easily. If your teacher is being a pain in the a&!, and requires you to use whitespace for your naming variables I guess you could insert %20 between the two words and unescape the value on the server side. This seems like a lot of unnecessary work and a silly solution - good luck!
