Problem adding CSA external interface in IPS 6

I configured my AIP-SSM sensor running IPS 6 to connect to the CSA MC, but I get a connection failure. The sensor is showing the following error when trying to connect:

    I just added two external firewire drives and they keep going to sleep.  I did not have this problem when using USB external drives.  I have turned off "put disks to sleep" in power preference.

    It is not clear if these are the same drives, just connected
    differently, or different drives?
    One thing that may be happening is that the drives firmware
    itself is putting it to sleep when inactive.  Many drives on
    the market have ths feature and it is turned on by default
    and require a drive utility from the manufacturer to disable it.

  • Actionscript external interface onload

    Hi
    I Have this external interface code that sends a video url to a video player when a user clicks a button it goes some thing like this:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
    function callJavascript(sendText){
       window.document.myMovie.SetVariable("testValue", sendText);
    </script>
    The code above works fine when a user click a button with onclick the passed variable is a video url
    and is send to the player.
    The problem is I would like to get the video url passed when the page is loaded.
    I have tried.
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
    var sendText=$("Videosroll/Videos/1.flv").val();
    window.document.myMovie.SetVariable("testValue", sendText);
    </script>
    This does not work. I think its because the videoplayer is not fully loaded when this action is called.
    I have looked at javascript timers etc. If any one has a solution please help.

    Hi
    This is extremely helpful. My current actionscript is:
    var testValue:String = "";
    watchCallback = function (id, oldval, newval):String {
        result_txt.text = newval;
        myVid.play(newval);
        return newval;
    _root.watch("testValue", watchCallback);
    HTML/PHP:
    <?Php
    //This is a while loop with many videourls and thumb images. When clicked the javascript passes the video url to flash.
    <a href="" onclick="return false" class="gt" name="'.$vidfield.'"><img src="'.$vidthumb.'" width="180" height="105" align=center /></a>
    ?>
    Current javascript:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
        $(".gt").live("click", function(){
            var sendText = $(this).attr("name");
            window.document.myMovie.SetVariable("testValue", sendText);
    </script>
    The attempt is to automaticly send the a video url onload. So using your advice I added this to current code:
    HTML:
    <body onload="callnow(videourl)"></body>
    Javascript:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
    function callnow(videourl){
    return videourl;
    </script>
    Actionscript 2.0:
    import flash.Exteneral.ExternalInterface;
    var videoURL:String=ExternalInterface.call("callnow");
    //Videoplay called myVid.
    myVid.play(videoURL);
    This has failed to play the video url onload. Other effort include changing callnow function to:
    function callnow(videourl){
      window.document.myMovie.SetVariable("videoURL", videourl);
    return videourl;
    This has not been a success. I hope you can help and thank you again.

    I am facinf a problem in deleting the Order created by External Interface.
    We are loading Inransit as PO Mamo (ATP Category AH). Now we need to delete all the Record with AH ATP categoy before we reload new intransit to APO.
    Problem is we are not able to delete those order as those are not in Live Cache.
    We try using transaction /n/sapapo/bp2 but every time its throwing error "SAP APO system Q51CLNT100 has been declared as an SAP R/3 system.
    and even i try deleting from /SAPAPO/RLCDEL. but its not deleting those order.
    Can some one suggest what to do.
    What all the option that we can try to delete the intransit.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Amit,
    You can use BAPI to delete AH ATP Category.
    1. Read all Purchase Documents from BAPI_POSRVAPS_GETLIST3 for product u2013 location for AH Type ATP Category only.
    2.Get the ORDID on the selection made.
    3.Call BAPI_POSRVAPS_REMOVEITEMS and load the list of order no. and then delete it.
    Please try this.

  • ASA 5505 external interface dying

    Hi,
    We have an ASA 5505 ( version 9.1(2) ) that frequently stopped functioning ie the external interface refuses to pass any traffic , ASDM wont connect,etc.
    The internal interface does continue to function and if we SSH into the unit and do a reload , everything springs back into life again.
    What are the best steps to troubleshooting and finding a fix to this problem?
    Chris

    Hi Amrin,
    you can configure SLA monitoring on ASA and that woudl work fine for you:

  • I've added an external hard drive, do I now need more memory?

    Hello,
    Ever since I added the external harddrive, I've encountered some problems: one is that my internet access has slowed down tremendously, behaving like a dial up instead of broadband cable.
    The other is in iDVD, I get an error message when burning a 1.5 hr dvd. Then iDVD freezes and I must force quit.
    I was wondering if the 1 GB ram was enough for the additional harddrive -
    I have about 60GB left on my internal hard drive.
    I have also run tests on my memory and all have come out ok.
    Thank you!
    Lisette

    "Question: if I were to clone everything over to the external drive, would I need to completely reinstall Mac OSX and all the applications that came with the computer?"
    No, when you clone using SuperDuper, everything would be duplicated and then you'd be duplicating it all back. The purpose is to defragment the HDD space. With possible very large files, the unused spaces themselves could get large and your Mac could perceive your HDD as being more full than it actually is. This despite the fact that Tiger automatically defrags. It's just that you may be using very large files, sort of exclusively, so there's no chance for Tiger to fill in.
    First check out this current memory problem and the compatibility of your MyBook and its software, if you're using that. Otherwise, you could spend a terrific amount of time and end up only freeing up maybe an extra 10GB on your HDD.
    Your page outs are very unfavorable, and indicate a very high demand for additional memory. I'm surprised since you have 1GB, but then I don't know what all you're doing. If this just happened in the last day or two, is it possible that you put a large amount of stuff on the external HD, and that Spotlight is in the process of indexing it? If that is happening at the same time that you're trying to use your entire 1GB of memory for iDVD, then that would be a likely explanation. Or anything like that in the way of multiple app use could be causing it. If that is what's going on, and your RAM is OK, then you'll be deciding about adding memory sooner than I thought!
    Edit-
    Sorry, also reread your posts, not seeing a reference to the external being firewire. Hope so, and that you're using that and not USB, being much slower. I definitely would not proceed with any cloning without firewire, or without additional RAM, unless you have a lot of spare time. Keep in mind, please, that too slow puts your iMac at some risk. What if there's a storm came up and power went out or worse in the middle of a day's worth of cloning? If you have valuable stuff on your HDD or external, don't be too quick to put it all at risk.

  • Success with adding an external eSATA drive to a Verizon FIOS DVR

    August 4, 2012 - Success with adding an external eSATA drive to a Verizon FIOS DVR
    I just upgraded from a Comcast DVR to a Verizon FIOS DVR.   I upgraded because my old DVR was limited to 500GB (1/2 TB) on the internal drive and the new FIOS DVR allowed for a much larger external eSATA drive.   Selecting a viable external drive for the FIOS DVR was easier said than done.  The three drives listed on the Verizon web site as compatible with FIOS DVRs are no longer manufactured by western digital and are not available on the market.
    The DVR that I received from Verizon was a Cisco "CHS 435 HD DVR" that came with a 500GB (1/2 TB) internal drive.   This is one of their "Multi-Room DVRs" that allows other set top boxes (not DVRs) to watch videos recorded on it.
    I selected a western digital "WD30EURS" eSATA disk drive because it was a follow on product to one of the three listed as acceptable by Verzion on their web page and it was 3TB in size.  I ordered from amazon.com for $170.99.  This drive is a "bare drive" so it does not come with an external encloser or a eSATA cable.
    According to the Western Digial web site this is a AV-GP drive:  "These drives are designed to last in high temperature always-on, streaming digital audio/video environments such as PVR/DVR, IPTV, and video surveillance systems."
    http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/AAG/ENG/2178-771131.pdf
    I got a "Macally G-S350SU Hi-Speed eSata/USB2.0 External Storage Enclosure for 3.5inch SATA HDD" to hold the drive for $34.39.  I chose this one because it does not use a fan that could cause continious noise.  The box is made out of metal so it cools itself as long as it is exposed to air (not covered up).  This box comes with an external power supply that has a small transformer that plugs into a wall outlet.
    Then I needed a eSATA cable.  I got a "StarTech 6-Feet Shielded External eSATA Cable M/M (ESATA6)" for $6.50 and a 3-foot version for $5.90.  I went with the longer one so that the cable would be less likely to become accidentally unplugged if I need to move the drive or the DVR.  The cables and the drive houseing came from the same Amazon provider so it saved me on shipping. The drive came from Amazon/Western Digial directly but they do not have external housings or eSATA cables on that site.
    The total cost was $255.56 including shipping for all these items.
    I went with the largest (3TB) drive from western digial's AV-GP line to avoid a future upgrade from a smaller drive to a larger drive.   There is no way to copy videos from one external eSATA drive to another drive because they are formatted by the FIOS DVR in a propriatary format.  That would mean that any future upgrade would require losing all recorded files during an upgrade.  That also means that there is no way to back up the contents of the drive to protect yourself from hard drive failure.
    The installer who setup the DVR did not want me to plug in the drive while he was there and explained that I was on my own when I attached this kind of personal device to the DVR.  When I plugged in the new eSATA drive it was automatically discovered.  I was asked by the DVR if I wanted to format the new drive.  I answered yes and within 2 hours the drive completed formatting.   I did not watch the boring format so it could have finished faster.
    When I started recording new videos they go directly to the external drive automatically and avoids the internal drive.  It had no trouble recording two HD shows and playing a recording at the same time.  I now have 20 hours of HD video recorded and the 3TB external drive is 17% full.  So far my experience with the external drive has been great.   No problems or issues.   Learning the new remote control, new DVR menu system, and web browser control of the DVR from a laptop is another story.  It will take some time to figure out how to make all the new features work.
    It took me a while to figure out how to make this work since the verizon web site made useless suggestions and pointed me to products that are not available any more.  I could not tell if this really would work until I plugged it in and then I was pleasantly suprised that it did.  I have had this working for 3 days without any issues.  I hope this post makes it easier for you to add an external eSATA drive to your DVR.
    Here are the three items ordered from Amazon to make this work:
    Western Digital 3 TB AV-GP 3 TB SATA 2 Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Driv...
    Macally G-S350SU Hi-Speed eSata/USB2.0 External Storage Enclosure for 3.5inch SATA HDD
    StarTech 6-Feet Shielded External eSATA Cable M/M (ESATA6)

    You are right. I can only access 2TB of my 3TB external drive. That gives me a total of 2.5 TB counting the internal (0.5 TB) and external (2.0 TB) drives. This is a significant improvement over the just the 0.5 TB internal drive. I have not been able to find a reason for this limitation. Cisco and Verizon do not mention any limits that I can find. I hope that a future BIOS upgrade could provide access to more space but this would probably require me to reformat the drive and lose everything recorded.
    I paid $170.99 for the 3 TB WD30EURS drive at amazon. I could have gotten away with spending only $116.99 for the 2 TB WD20EURS drive. Not worth returning at this point so I will stay with it. Makes me glad I didn't buy the most expensive 6 TB external  monster drive available from another company.
    I bought: 3TB drive: Western Digital 3 TB AV-GP 3 TB SATA 2 Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive WD30EURS by Western Digital
    I could have bought: 2TB drive: Western Digital AV-GP 2 TB SATA II Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Internal Hard Drive - WD20EURS by Western Digital
    Details of what I learned:
    The external 2 TB drive now has 41 hours of HD video recorded and claims to be 34% full (66% free). My estimate would allow me to have aprox 120 hours of HD on the external drive (2TB) and 30 hours of HD on the internal drive (500GB) for a total of 150 hours of HD. This will keep me happy for the near future.
    There is a hidden "diagnostic menu" that is not normally accessible or documented by CISCO or Verizon. This menu has a lot of interesting info on the inner working of the DVR. There was an obscure reference to this menu on another forum.
    To access this diagnostics menu:
    1) Get the DVR into normal live tv mode (no menu, no guide, no pause ...)
    2) Go to the Cisco CHS 435 HD DVR (not the remote control) and press these buttons on the front of the DVR: Press both the Left Arrow "<-" button and "OK" button at the same time and hold them both down for aprox 5 seconds.
    3) The "Verizon FiOS TV Diagnostics Menu" menu will appear. The menu can then be used by the remote control.
    4) I chose "D03 Memory / HDD" and then "Hard Disk Information" and finally "OK"
    A five page disk report appeared. With a little bit of interpretation I discovered:
    The Internal Drive is know as "drive 1/hdc1" has 461 GB total space with 454 GB free.
    The External Drive is split into two partitions "hdc2" and "hdc3" (aka two mount points).
    "drive 2/hdc2" has 1007 MB total with 317 GB free
    "drive 3/hdc3" has 1007 MB total with 974 GB free
    The normal DVR menu has an "Eject" feature that allows you to stop the external drive and make it safe to remove it from the DVR without losing anything via an unplanned drive removal. This can be found at "DVR" button on remote then "Settings"->"External Hard Drive"->"Eject".

  • Memory leak in external interface SetReturnValue?

    I'm having trouble with a memory leak in my application. I'm
    hoping someone out there can help me find a fix or workaround, or
    tell me what I'm doing wrong.
    The leak seems to be coming from the flash external
    interface; specifically, IShockwaveFlash.SetReturnValue(String). My
    application is written in Visual Basic 2008, connecting to Flash
    9.0.124.0 (activex version).
    I've written a fairly simple flash/VB program pair to
    illustrate the problem.
    The SWF contains a button, 2 dynamic text fields, and the
    ActionScript 2 code below.
    The VB project contains a Form with a AxShockwaveFlash object
    and the VB code below.
    When this program is run, and the button is clicked a lot
    (10's of thousands of times), the application's memory creeps up
    and never seems to fall back down. If the string passed to
    SetReturnValue is longer, memory is consumed faster. But if the
    call to SetReturnValue is commented-out, the application's memory
    usage remains stable.
    If anyone has any suggestions on how to proceed, I'd be
    grateful.
    (By the way: I'm using a freeware program called DoItAgain to
    automate the button pressing.)

    I have developed two simple Java and corresponding
    C++ classes. Use code tags when you post your code.
    You are missing a lot of error checking. JNI calls, every single one, will usually be followed by some sort of error checking. Any that access classes, methods, fields or allocate object must be followed by checks for java exceptions.
    You will need to reduce your code to a smaller sample. Otherwise it is unlikely anyone will look at it.
    You also need to specify how you know that a memory leak is occurring.

  • What does "No External Interface" mean?

    Adobe Flash Player will not install the complete program.  It's telling me that it can only install a single file at a time.  The display box states that I have version 9.0.45.0 installed and my operating system is Windows XP then for the browser in states No External Interface.  Not sure how to correct the problem but it's telling me that Flash Player didn't install completely.

    Download and run the offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header (under the heading Progress bar hangs).

  • External interface memory leak?

    Hello,
    I am embedding the flash player inside a Visual C++
    application. My program uses the external interface extensively.
    The external interface is called several times a second ( ~20 fps )
    each time a ~1k XML string is passed to the flash player.
    During execution the program increases its memory by ~10 Mega
    each hour. I have used the Umdh tool to try to locate the problem.
    It points to the line where the container program uses the external
    interface to call a function inside the swf movie.
    Below is a typical output of the Umdh tool:

    The System.totalMemory value of the flash player ranges from
    2.2 Mbyte to 3.2. I tried using memory leak detection software like
    IBM's Purify but couldn't find the problem.
    I also tried to disable the BSTR caching by setting the
    environment variable OANOCACHE, but the memory of my program
    continues to increase.
    Below is my C++ code. The m_iflash object is a pointer to the
    ActiveX of the flash player.
    wstring CZFlash::CallFunction(wstring call_string)
    BSTR pcall_string = SysAllocString(call_string.c_str());
    BSTR presponse = NULL;
    HRESULT status = m_iflash->CallFunction(pcall_string,
    &presponse);
    SysFreeString(pcall_string);
    if (status != S_OK)
    if (presponse != NULL)
    SysFreeString(presponse);
    return L"";
    wstring sresponse(presponse);
    SysFreeString(presponse);
    return sresponse;
    Currently the swf movie contains only action script that
    displays the System.totalMemory value and an empty function that
    the external interface calls.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Amit

    Hello,
    Thanks for coming to National Instruments Discussion Forum.
    Can you give us more details about your application? Basically, I can’t find your main VI for your User Interface. Can you also give us the different steps to do to run your application and reproduce your problem?
    Generally speaking, your code on your block diagram have to be displayable in one screen.

    Hello IvoK,
    The 9881 needs to be externally powered. You can do it with a CAN Breakout Box or with a CAN cable.

  • CSA - External Access Policy

    Greetings!
    Guys, I need some help. One of our customers bought the CSA solution in order to protect and narrow Internet access when an employee is out of the office.
    Here is the scenario: If an employee takes one of the company's laptop to his house/hotel/etc and try to access any Internet based service(HTTP, HTTPS, P2P, FTP, Torrent, etc) it is MANDATORY that this person establish a VPN connection, this way all content will be processed by the company's Proxy and Firewall, there isn't split tunnel policy; otherwise all TCP/UDP stream should be BLOCKED.
    I'm using the Roaming - Force VPN(action: Query the User, when: MC unreachable & Ethernet Active and NOT when: MC is reachable) and the Cisco VPN Client Rule Modules; there is no Temporary Allow Web Browser rule enabled. But I need some help with the parameters, what happens is that if the user answer yes(allow) to the Query message and does not have a VPN Connection he still manages to access the internet and that's not acceptable.
    I need to BLOCK ALL UDP/TCP stream at first, ask the user if the VPN is established, check the status of the VPN connection and then, if is tunnel is UP allow access else block everything until the VPN is established.
    Can you guys help me?
    Thanks in advance!
    Att, Daniel Yamashita
    PS: I'm using CSA MC v.5.2.0.263 hot fix(fcs-csamc-hotfix-5.2.0.263-w2k3-k9.zip)

    Greetings "followurself",
    Sorry taking this long to answer but yes, I've managed to deploy the CSA as our customer wanted.
    I've decided to create my own Rule and Policy Modules. I'm not sure if this is what you need but here is a simple sketch:
    CSA-External Access Policies
    [Rule Modules >> Windows Rule Modules]
    -Name: External_Access
    -Operating System: All Windows
    -State Conditions: Apply this rule module only if the following state conditions are met
    \> When: Ethernet Active and Management Center Not Reachable
    \-> Not when: Management Center Reachable
    [Rules]
    (1)Terminate All

    As you can see the trigger for these rules is the Ethernet Active and if the MC Server is reachable or not. The only way the Pop-Up message could appear is when the MC is unreachable.
    I might've mapped a little too much but I it worked great! Let me know if this is what you need. Remember that you should worry more about what to deny than to allow ok?
    If there is anything else, don't hesitate to ask.

  • External Interface Connection (EIC) not working in Mozilla but ok in IE

    I am using XCelcius 2008 SP5 and have proven that I can expose the methods provided in the EIC interface to write data out of the flash movie to a javascript function. This works only in Internet Explorer, but fails in recent versions of Mozilla Firefox. I use two different methods to obtain a reference to the flash object by the way; one for IE browsers; another for non IE browsers. I have run debugger in Firefox and cannot see the EIC methods exposed as I can in IE when I debug the same code. Does anyone know whether XCelcius is simply no longer supporting this interface in a Mozilla/Firefox browser environment  any longer?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jim

    Hi Suman,
    Thanks for the link to the Xcelcius SP3 Pam.
    I tried to also download the PAM for XCelscius 2008 SP5 but couldn't as it required a password for some reason. Any chance you could get it for me?
    To answer your questions, the version of my Firefox is 29.0.1 and  user Agent is Mozilla/5.0
    The PAM you provided for SP3 stated support for Mozilla Firefox 3.0  (maybe this could be a problem?)
    Having said that, my XCelcius flash object is displayed properly in Firefox and it runs properly in terms of functionality (e.g. updating charts, slider controls all work etc) . Where it fails is when my javascript attempts to call any of the External Interface data Connection methods. Example: getDataSource(rangename)
    This same thing works great in IE.
    Here is an interesting link to an example of someone who did use a Firefox browser and apparently successfully ran EIC methods to get data in and out of their two XCelcius flash modules. (This is pretty much  the same thing that I am doing too.)

    Also, I have tried referencing the swf module in different ways depending upon your browser ( using this really helpful article)   http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/flashjscommand/

  • External interface callback breaks differently in different browsers.

    egad, got a bunch of hours in on this, and while putting a copy online for this question, found out that chrome and ie work fine, it's just firefox.  anyway, kind of simple, but a pain to explain, but here goes.
    javascript-loading SWFs into a div: new one replaces the old one.  using external interface to start/stop SWFs, and get info about their playing status.  made a simple version for this question and i'll throw the link down below.  the problem goes like this:
    i load the initial swf.
    a button on the page has no problem starting and stopping the swf.
    another button on the page replaces the current swf with a new one.
    firefox: when you first load the page, you can load SWFs as many times as you want, and wherever you stop, the start/stop button will work fine, but it won't work any more on any loaded SWFs after you use it on the first one.
    oddly, i'm finding out more about this as i go along:
    chrome: works fine online, but doesn't work at all locally.
    ie: works fine both online and locally (sigh)
    firefox: does the described problem locally and online.
    am i missing something altogether here?  i mean you know, looking for what i need to do for this to work consistently.
    if you want to see the problem, i've put the whole thing here:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11385083/problem2/index5.html
    you can also download all these wonderful files from the page.
    thank you thank you thank you anyone who can figure this out.
    if you want more info just ask.
    i'll be happy so blabber more and about this so anyone interested
    thanks,
    gpb

    haha nope.  thanks kglad.  i knew this wasn't the problem since i've opened and closed these things a gazillion times now but...  thanks for the tip, though.  hadn't thought about the tabs and all.  i've used external interface a lot myself, and never have trouble.  but i've never swapped swf files out and tried to use it from one to the next.  i'd sure hate to think that it's something like, because i've previously opened a swf that uses external interface, i can't use it on any subsequent swfs.  yikes.  would ruin my whole plan.  thanks again.
