Problem adding Paper Forms Barcode to form w/ Designer 7.0

Whenever I add a barcode to a form using Designer 7.0 I see the error "Argument invalid: not supplied/range/etc." in Designer's warning box. I'm suspect of this because I don't notice the barcode updating as I fill the form in.
Any clues ?

Problems adding context menus to each form

Hi,
I have some problems by adding a new MenuItem to a SBO Context menu.
I just try the following method:

I execute this code after FormLoad, the code add a new MenuItem, BUT... now my big problem:
when I click on the buttons in the toolbar to switch between different records of e.g. invoice, SBO removes the MenuItem from the ContextMenu.
When I watch into the object i can't find the menu. When I want to readd the menu, SBO says "Menu already exist"
Where is my fault? What can I do?

Hi Sebastian, it's not clear to me if you are trying to add a Menu exactly as the ones are showed in the main window of SAP B1. If this is the case you have to use type POPUP instead of String. You will have to add a node to the POPUP to make it visible.
Please check the sample "AddingMenuItems" delivered in the UI API folder under the Sap Business One SDK folder. Please put attention also at the position.
The menuitem was already entered in the Menu Collections of the application, even when you cant see it, this is why you are getting the message that the form already exist. In order to refresh the UI API you will have to reinitialize Business One.

Problem adding dynamic sections in a form

Hello,
I've previously used LiveCycle to design static forms, but am now trying to create a dynamic interactive form. I'm completely new to this process so I thought I'd learn by trying to re-create the sample Purchase Order form that comes with the software, to ease myself into it.
I'm using LiveCycle Designer 7.0 on Windows XP Professional.
Within the Purchase Order example, the two subforms I'm concerned with are the detailHeader subform which contains an 'Add Item' button and five static text objects; and the detail subform, which contains one drop-down, one text field and three numeric fields.
The Add Item button is scripted to add an instance of the detail subform upon clicking.
Now, I created the subforms and objects as shown in the sample Purchase Order form, and I entered the JavaScript exactly as it is in the example. I've set the whole form to 'Flowing Content', and have the same binding settings for each of the subforms as in the example. But when I go to the PDF Preview the addInstance just doesn't work.
The script reads as follows:

Can anyone suggest what it is I'm overlooking?

Check two things..
1) check whether you have set the subform to Repeat fotr each data item..(Check the below image).

2) See if you have set the form as Dynamic by following the below..
     1) Goto File menu -> Form Properties and select Defaults tab. Change the Default Render Format as Dynamic XML form
     2) Select the Preview Tab. Set the Preview type as "Interactive Form" and Preview Adobe XML form as Dynamic XML form
     3) Finally while saving the PDF select Save As Type as "Adobe Dynamic XML Form".

Problems with Paper Forms Barcode

hi,
i designed a PDF which has 2 pages. on this pages user enters data for 3 persons. name + adress
i want to add a paper forms barcode for the whole document on the second page, but the barcode object shows me an error (in the right corner of object) once the barcode is to small, anothertime the barcode is to large. i tried to magnify the object by 0,1in steps to find the right size but i couldnt.
how can i solwe this problem?

Paper Form Barcode decode error with UTF8 Chinese

I have a Paper Form Barcode
Symbology: QR Code
Scaning Method: Custom
Error correction level: M
Modul width:0.592 mm
Character Encoding: UTF-8
But sometime QR code decode data not equal original data
Case 1:

After decode: I got "哈哈" ==> OK
Case 2:
PaperFormsBarcode1.rawValue = "哈|哈哈|"
After decoe: I got "蜩�蜩亥嶋|" ==> Error!!!
Case 3:

After decode: I got "A|哈哈|" ==> OK

do you have the asian language packs installed? i can't comment on this specific example but i know that we've had odd issues with japanese characters because we hadn't installed the right language packs.

as per my understanding we have less then 800 character limit for barcode ,
do we have any impact of duplicate data on barcode ?
because when i gave same input to the barcode and scan it ,i dont find any data in it ?
for example: i gave "9" character 6000 times , which almost generates more 8 barcodes, but when i scan the barcode i dont find any data in it .
can you please help out whats the issue with it ?

Paper Forms Barcode

When using the Paper Forms barcode, how do you select which fields will be encoded into the barcode? It does not appear there are any tools that allow you to select which fields within the form that will be encoded into the barcode.

Now, I read that you need to Livecycle Barcoded Forms to make use of this feature. Do you know if this is something that comes seperately or does it come with ES2 SP2?
You'll have to check with Adobe on that - I think the barcode part may come with Reader Extensions now, or something like that.
It is possible to manually encode the data into a barcode and extract it without Barcoded Forms, you need to build a delimited string of the data you want and put it in the barcode.
I guess another question I have is to see if there is anyway to test within Livecycle that the data is actually being encoded on the form.
You can check the .rawValue of the barcode object. Something like TextField1.rawValue = BarCode.rawValue; will dump whatever's in the barcode into a text field.

in the left window from the image, i checked for the value of parameter param_cls, and it's ok (16).
when i run the report from the Reports, i see all the repors (that table), but when i run from forms, i got just the headers of the table, the rest is invisible. i don't know why happens this..
:control.lst_clase returns a char, so i convert that char to a number, and that's the parameter passed from Forms.
Please help me..
edit: i saw in Reports that there are two buttons: Run Web Layout and Run Paper Layout. from the Forms, i wanna run the web layout

Adobe Forms Barcode Issue

Hi All,
I have an issue with barcode in my adobe form ( ASN Delivery Note - SNC ) When printing line items ( in table loop), I want to print barcode for the Product ID and Qty Field below the actual field value.
So I have modified the form and added the two barcodes and given the same binding as the two fields. The barcode does appear on the form, however when I scan the barcode its printing the default value which is incorrect, especially I have given the same binding value.
I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1 The fields are in a subform and is positioned.
I have also used the same barcode top of the form (static data) and that is printing the correct value, when scanned.
Any help would be appreciated.

As per my experience, a variable can be binded to only one screen element. If you bind the same variable to multiple screen elements it will not give corect value.
When I faced this problem, I took a temp. variable and copied the original value to that temp. variable and binded the temp. variable to other screen element.

Font Problems Upgrading from LC 7.2 Forms to ES Update 1 (8.2)

Old Environment: LC 7.2 Forms, Windows 2003, Weblogic 8.1 SP5, Oracle 10.2.0.4
Old Fonts Directory: c:\windows\fonts. The customer fonts were also added to this directory and the fonts were embedded into the adobe-FontManager.ear.
New Environment: LC ES Update 1 (8.2) SP3, Solaris 10, WebLogic 10.0 MP2, Oracle 10.2.0.4
New Fonts: Copied all the adobe-FontManager.ear ttfs into the customer fonts specified directory.
Problem: I have the same XDP template being used in the old and new environment. I have two environments (Old or New) with the code to invoke the LC Forms server. The old environment prints out a Chinese form correctly. The new environment prints out the Chinese form, but a lot of the text are bolded when it wasn't showing that problem before in LC 7.2 Forms. Any thoughts on what might be cauasing this issue?

I couldn't get a LC ES Forms server solution to this problem. Adobe LC support stated that I had to modify the XDPs that show the bolding problem. According to Product Engineering and Escalations group, LC ES 8.2.1 contained changes with respect to font attributes that we need to modify the XDP. There are no server level changes that can solve the problem.
Solution for me:
1. Open the XDP that showed the bolding problem in LC Designer ES SP3.
2. Find the bolded Chinese characters and unbold them. Save the XDP.
3. Drop the updated XDP on to the LC ES Update 1 (8.2.1) Forms server.
4. Render the form in LC ES Update 1 (8.2.1). No unwanted bolded characters for me. As a plus I noticed the XDP size grow smaller in terms of file size after I saved it on ES Designer SP3.

I am using a Dell PC with Windows 7 Professional as the Operating System.

File > Page Setup = Scale
The Scale control is what controls the size of what is printed to paper. 100% is usually the best setting.

Decoding 2D barcode on forms printed from Adobe Reader

We use LiveCycle Designer 8 in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro to create forms, which are then opened, completed and printed using Adobe Reader, then signed by the user and mailed back.
We believe we can put a 2D paper forms barcode on the form, but if filled in by Adobe Reader the data gets encrypted and so cannot be scanned (though if completed by Acrobat, the data is not encrypted - unfortunately most customers do not have Acrobat)
We heard that you could buy software or a hardware device to enable the received printed forms to be scanned and the 2D data decoded - is this correct still?

In regards to the Decoder, this is a piece of software that does the actual decoding of the barcode from a printed and scanned form (or faxed). It can decode barcodes from both TIFF and PDF documents.
If you are using a high-speed scanning solution then you more than likely have a decoder built into your solution. If not, then the decoder is an ideal add-on solution. In fact, with the new Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ES you can not only decode but you can integrate the data right into your existing workflow quite easily.

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

Problem using Option Buttons in a form

I created a form in Word using a table for defining the layout. Inside of some cells I inserted some Rich Text Content Control and in some others Option Buttons (ActiveX Control). Everything
was working correctly.<o:p></o:p>
The problem appears when I restrict the formatting and editing. I select the option "Allow only this type of editing in the document" and then choose "Filling in forms",
finally click on "Yes Start Enforcing Protection". <o:p></o:p>
Now if I want to fill in the form, at the beginning I'm able to click on the Cells with the Rich Text Content Control and type in some text, but as soon as I click on any of the Option Buttons
all the Rich Text Content Controls get blocked, and I am not able to modify the text anymore. <o:p></o:p>
The only way to make it work again is to jump to the next cells using the Tab key instead of using the mouse. If I go to the "Restrict Editing" and "Stop Protection", then
everything works correctly.
If I delete the Option Buttons the problem is solved as well, it doesn't matter if the from is protected or not.<o:p></o:p>
How can I solve this issue? I'm using Windows 7 and Office 2013.<o:p></o:p>

W1zard is correct. Switch to Exec_SQL. Oracle does not support Forms using DBMS_SQL.
Now... please explain why you are not using a dynamic record group. It is SOOO much easier!

Security setting problems preventing a rerun of a form.

System Specifications:
Windows XP Professional with Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
Enterprise Manager URL: http://dell9150:1158/em (there is no Domain Name)
Firewall is set to ON. I have no special software other than Windows XP Pro and
Internet Explorer handling my security. Oracle10g Database with Forms10g.
Sequence of Events:
1. Start OC4J Instance and Oracle Forms Builder
2. Open a previously debugged form, connect to database and run the form.
3. A sound like a pop-up blocker occurs and I am at the following address:
C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\Local Settings\Temp\s31o.htm
4. When I check the pop-up blocker it is ON. If I turn it OFF
the next time I come to this window it is set back to ON?
I can not add this current address to the pop up blocker exceptions;
however, dell9150 is listed as an exception.
5. I also get the message Explorer has restricted this file from showing
active contentClick option here. When I select Allow Blocked Content
I get a security warning run active content to which I reply YES.
6. Now the form runs, the forms works just fine, and I am at the address: http://dell9150:8889/forms90/f90servlet
7. Once I close the form, go back to Builder and re-run the form I get the following
message without ever reaching the internet:

In order to re-run the form I must close out of everything and start from scratch.
I have tried several combinations of setting in the Internet Properties/Security Settings with no luck. If I RESET (I assume this resets all options to the default) the same thing occurs. Obviously, there has to be a way of setting my Internet Options so that I can run a form without this problem but I am lost and could really use some HELP! I am in no way a Windows expert nor a Oracle DBA but I can follow directions. Thanks.

Try the following solutions :
1) Check on in IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> advanced -> allow active content to run in files on My Co
mputer
2) Make sure that you have in the Internet Explorer Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Check the check box
Enable third party Browser extensions. It will be under browsing.
