Problem Applying J2EE patches in WAS installation

Hi,Himanshu Limaye here.
WAS installation process has been completed till the application of ABAP and BASIS patches( till SP-15 package)
I have downloaded the J2EE patches from SAP Service Marketplace and copied them to a folder along with the SAPCAR file.
<b>Three patches are successfully unsarred:
CTRLORA15_2000118.SAR
J2EERTOS15_020000018.SAR
SAPINST15_0_20000018.SAR</b>
However <b>the file J2EERT15_0_10001982.SAR is not getting unsarred.
Error in reading file.</b>
Unless this file gets Unsarred I cannot proceed.
Please help me in resolving this issue

Hi Samrat
I downloaded the<b> latest CAR file SAPCAR_3-20000252.EXE</b> from the service market place.
I started the procedure again but the same error exists on executing the DOS <b>command</b>-<b>SAPCAR_3-20000252 -xvf <FILENAME></b>
<b>Is this command valid</b> <b>SAPCAR_3-20000252 -xvf "J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR</b>"?
Because extraction started and again I was given the same error:
<b>Error reading from J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR</b>
The remaining SAR files were extracted successfully.
Do I need to again download J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR?
Please reply at the earliest.
Thanks.

  • Installing J2EE  Patches during WAS installation

    Hi Himanshu Limaye here.
I am <b>currently installing J2EE patches using SAPCAR utility.</b>However one of the .sar files is not getting uncarred properly.
    <b>The file name is: J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR</b>
I <b>repeated the procedure</b> by again downloading the same file from <b>SAP</b> <b>Service Market place</b>.But,I am still unable to resolve the error.
As a result I am unable to complete the application of J2EE patches during WAS installation.
Could anyone brief <b>me regarding the JSPM or SDM method of installing J2EE patches.</b>Thanks.

    Hi Himanshu,
You please specify the exact error which is being displayed while uncarring.
Are you applying a support package or just a patch.

  • Problems applying SAP Patches

    Hi All,
I am trying to import SAP support packages into SAP R/3 Enterprise (4.7), it is telling me that i need a kernel patch 1269. I have visited service.sap.com and i can't find this patch, where do i get this patch or do i have to move to the 640 kernel?

    Hi Trevor,
Please refer to the Note 19466 for the location of 6.20 kernel patches in
http://service.sap.com/swdc. Ideally, as the 640 kernel patches are downward
compatible, you may as well use the latest 640 kernel patch.
    Hope it helps.

  • Error while applying Java Patch 16 on WAS 640 ABAP+JAVA

    Hello Masters,
I am in process of applying Patch 16 to my BW 3.5 WAS 640 ABAP+JAVA systems.  I have successfully applied ABAP patch level to 16.  Now I am applying to J2EE Patch 16 to system. I did prerequisite check and everything is okay.  Platform - Sun Solaris 9, Oracle 9.2.0.6.  When I click on apply Patch 16, it goes thru central instance profile, java home directory okay. After this it is asking me to supply file for JCE and I gave path for file "jce_policy-1_4_2.zip".  after that it extracts this file to Java_home/jre and at point when it tries to extract visual.dat, it throws following error :

    Hello Digesh,
The firt thing please go to os level prompt for <SID>adm user and type echo $JAVA_HOME. What is the value that is reflected after issuing the above.
Also please check that your SAP-J2EE instance is running properly or not.
The JCE is used for Weak and strong encryption.
Also please check the instance.properties file. Does it contain proper parameter as per your SAP installation.

  • Installation Server Corruption when applying  a Patch

I have setup a installation server with 7.10 gui.  I have twice tried to apply a patch, the first time bw350gui710_1 patch, the second time was the gui710_4 patch.  Both times my installation server was corrupted to the point where I had to delete it and rebuild it.
When I called NWSAPSETUPADMIN I got a System Invalid Cast Exception and it showed that I had no components on my installation server.

Tried a few more times and it worked.

  • Problem applying patch 125547-02

I am attempting to patch a Solaris Sparc 10 06/06 system to the latest patches using the smpatch command. One of the patches that needs to be applied in patch 125547-02. However I am unable to install this patch as it has a dependency on patch 122660-10. I attempt to download and install patch 122660-10 using smpatch and I'm unable to do so (the patch cannot be found after issuing the "smpatch download -i 122660-10") command. Going to sunsolve.sun.com I am able to download a copy of patch 122660-10 however when I attempt to install it I am told it cannot be installed as patch number 124204-01 needs to be installed. Unfortunately I am unable to download or install this patch using either smpatch or logging into sunsolve. Has anyone encountered this problem before and been able to resolve it?
Needless to say I am very frustrated at the difficulty it takes to keep a Solaris system patched.

Thank you for your assistance. That was the patch I needed as I was able to install patch 125547-02. It's odd that sunsolve did not list patch 124204-01 at all on the site. Typically when a patch has been obsoleted it remains on sunsolve and a reference to the new patch is made. That was not the case for patch 124204-01. One other thing to note: I was unable to use smpatch to download and install patch 124204-04 as you suggested. I had to log on to sunsolve and download the patch and install it with patchadd.

The patch provided supposedly fixes that by renaming a function (log2 to mylog2) in itrender.c. I've tried simply running patch -i dumb.patch before running makepkg, but that obviously doesn't work since none of the files are downloaded. I'm guessing that I need to put the patch command somewhere in pkgbuild, I'm just not sure where.
So far, I've just downloaded and extracted the tarball, then I get the above error when running makepkg.
Well you don't need to get the package tarball alone. Get the tarball and open up the PKGBUILD file, see where it gets the source from, then get that source and apply the patch to it. After that you can just compile it yourself...

After trying to re-run the patch process I couldn't get catsem11i to run successfully. I have dropped my models, network, and removed the model data tables (that I originally created) containing SDO_RDF_TRIPLE data types so I'm not sure why I'm getting the error below. I am assuming you want to only apply this patch in a specific Zone? If that is the case you would want to use -G instead of -g as the option.
"Add patch(es) to packages in the current zone only. When used in the global zone, the patch is added to packages in the global zone only and is not propagated to pack-ages in any existing or yet-to-be-created non-global zone. When used in a non-global zone, the patch is added to packages in the non-global zone only."

  • Problem Applying Patch KB70009

    Dear All,
I have installed Solution Manager 4.0 SR1.  I have upgraded Support Package from 20 to 23 successfully.
Now I wish to apply BASIS Patch 70009. It asks for CRT i.e. SAPKITL417. I added the sam also in the queue. This CRT asks for SAPKW70009. I addeed that. Then when I checked the queue it asks for SAPKIPYJ79. I added that also
    Now I started importing it.
It started normally but keeps on running in " Main Import" phase for more than 20 Hours. It is still running.
What could be the problem & how to get rid of this.
Pls revert ASAP as I need to take action accordingly.
    Thanks

Macbooks are only supported if the're late 2008 Alu or early 2009 or later:
The OP may have an early 2008 Macbook. You have a Macbook Pro, which is different.

Install patches for BEx addon 7.0 which is available in service market place and also install DotnetFx exe in your PC.
Hope this would resolve your issue.
