Problem assigning internet user Role through portal

Hi All,
Please could someone help me with the following:
I am creating a registration process that creates a new CRM Business partner with contact person and internet user roles. When i run the Bapi from with in CRM everything works fine however when i run my jsp dynpage application and call the same bapi, the internet user that i create does not have any of the logon details or roles. Does anyone know why this is? i am using the same user when running in crm and the portal.

Thanks for your reply. answers to your questions:
1. Yes, all portal users are maintained and have the same roles as CUA users. Portal authenticates against CUA.
2. Yes the user is created correctly on the backend. i have created a BAPI that creates users, BP's and assigns roles. This Bapi works perfectly when run in CRM but as soon as it is accessed via the portal the internet user role does not have all the required information.

is created as a BP in CRM and relation ship is maintained to sold to

change password or change the roles of the users while creating BP
under the internet user role -- same as what we do in SU01.
This is now a security Issue because who ever can access the BP
(create/change) will be able to do the things we can do under
transaction SU01. But we still need to access the Internet user role in-order to assign the user id to the contact person . Is there any other
way of doing this.

Hi Ashwini,
you need to modify the logon routine and then in the user management (isauseradmin application) to do this. Then there are likely changes to the catalog identification, and very likely to most processes in the shop. I really wouldn't advise doing so. As accounts usually have contact persons: Why does your client insist in providing a login for the organization and not for a person?
To achieve something that looks almost like the desired solution you, e.g., could model a dummy contact person for each account that shall get a logon, that then does the job. The contact person could be named like the company and then you are back to plain standard.

Internet user role for BP category type "Organisation"

Dear All,
We have some BPs which is created under the BP category of "Organization" with role sold-to-party. Now the client wants to extend this BPs to Internet user role. Where as in Standard internet user role will be assigned to only person category.
Please advise me on the same.

Authorization problem to execute a report through portal

Hi All,
One of user while trying to execute report through portal, getting error message saying that
"you are not authorized to execute the report XXXXXXX'
Can not load query <query name> (data provider <data provider name> No authorizations for requested service.
The report is a web template which is getting executed through portal.
User is having all the authorizations to execute the report(report autho as well as infoprovider autho also)
we have regenerated the user roles , done user comparision....every thing is OK.
Still unable to execute the report.
Please advice what can be done in this case....

Are you able to run this report with your user id?
If so check the role or authorization objects which are missing to the user.
And also check whether he got portal roles assigned to his profile.

Problem in viewing Accounts iview through portal.

I am facing problem when i am trying to view the Accounts iView through
portal. The same iView is running well directly through CRM system.
In portal a small window is poped asking for username and password for
Site : crmprd.ssg.local and
Realm : SAP Web Application Server [CP1]
I tried by providing the user name and password of CRM but it's not
working. When I cancel that popped window then that Accounts iView is
displayed but all the tabs and links in that page are inactive.
And also when i am clicking on the any of the tab then at lower left corner of
the browser "access is denied" message is coming.
I will be thankfull for the reply.

The BSP is just a URL as far as the portal is concerned. Just make sure the same URL is being generated as if you called the BSP directly.

Modify user roles through SPML?

Hi everyone,
I've been stuck for a few days now on trying to modify the assigned role of a user through SPML. I'll be brutally honest with everyone: I have no idea whatsoever of what I'm doing, I just gather information and try to chuck along.
Up to this point, I've been able to create users and search for users through SPML, and that's where everything falls down very rapidly. I'm using SPML 2.0 for creating users and SPML 1.0 for searching them.
The IDM server has a specific role implemented named ITACCESS, which launches a process that calls other servers and things like that once it is assigned to a user. My goal is thus to modify the "Roles assigned" value of a specific user to "ITACCESS", basically.
Am I wrong in thinking I can use SPML for this? What other ways of accessing the IDM server do I have available?
The server is configured with the regular spml.xml and spml2.xml (stock sample ones, not modified). I have tried simply sending an SPML 2.0 modifyRequest, but to no avail:

Hi,
Roles are decided by IT managers. Suppose if Persons who are working in shopfloor or production side
give authorization to Production order create , change and Confirm like that etc
1. In role maintenance (transaction PFCG), choose the Authorizations tab page.
2. To change the authorization data for the transactions assigned to the role, choose Change Authorization Data or Expert Mode for Profile Generation. Otherwise, a dialog box appears in expert mode (see Regenerating an Authorization Profile After Changes).

Problem while uploading text file through portal into WebDAV repository .

Hi all...
I am not able to upload any file through portal onto my webDav repository for remote server however reverse is possible i.e. any document created at remote server is reflected in portal.
Everytime when i try to upload file though portal , i get the following error::
The item could not be created because an exception occurred in the framework.
Kindly suggest what to do....

Have you specified any user information in the webdav repository....Like always connect through this user, in the webdav repsository tab....This user may not have write permission in the windows.
Also are you sure that the user you logged in portal by which you failed to create new files or folders and the user that was able to create file in the windows are one and the same.....

Problem with ERP User Role: Cant do Bank Reconciliation using SM35 Pls help

Hi Everyone,
I'm having soem problems. A user can upload the electronic bank statement (MT940 format) using FF_5 however when they attempt to process it using SM35 the file is not there.
I think we might be missing an authorisation object or something that stops the bank file from being transported to the processing function SM35 but I dont know what the missing object is or how to correct it.

I'm able to run the programs as I have access to SAP ALL, I traced myself running the program (ST01) but cant make sense of the report to work out what's missing.
I'll try running the same trace for the user that is mising the authorisation objects to see what the difference is.

BW authorizations based on assigned PPM users/roles + inherited roles

Dear experts,
We using PPM 5.0 SP7, and we are having trouble defining authorizations for BW reports.
We would like to use the same authorizations as in PPM business client, so that BI would use/check the authorization from business client.
This check would include:
- users or roles gain access from direct assignment to an item
- users or roles gain access that is inherited in the bucket structure, both structure and classification buckets.
Users would have access to BW reports, but they could see data only from the same structures/classifications or direct assignments that are given to them in PPM business client.
Can we utilize the same authorization methods, or do we need to create and maintain this in another place (BW)?
If needed, how to create similar authorization model to BW?

Problems assigning policy to roles

Hello,
I am trying to assign a simple policy that I have created to a role that I have created.
I am following the instructions from the administration guide.
In the final step,
From the View UserManegement I choose the role that I want to apply the policy and I click on assign. It gives me a choice of policies that I can choose.
Here is the problem: When I choose the policy and hit assign button, nothing happens !!!
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong ?

However, If i create user request without passing any parameters it is working fine. I get error only when creating request with parameters.

Problem in calling BSP application through portal

Hi All,
We have EP 2004s and we have integrated a CRM (BSP) application with it .
CRM application is a custom application which contains two frames . The upper frame of this application is developed using BSP and the lower frame is ICWC .
We are calling this application (BSP) in portal using a BSP iView . When calling this application using iView it gives an error as some values needs to be initialized , though all the values have been initialized in controller.
When we are calling the same application using a browser instead of an iView it works perfectly fine .
Can anybody explain me how does portal treats the BSP application.

The BSP is just a URL as far as the portal is concerned. Just make sure the same URL is being generated as if you called the BSP directly.

More specific permissions assigned to user roles

We're looking for a new CMS like Bc, but it is lacking one thing that our current CMS has. We need to grant permission to only add or edit specific and simpler things like text and files on a page or module. This simplifies the UI for our clients and bullet proofs our wireframe and page designs. We don't want to grant them access to add modules to pages among other things. Is this or will this be possible in Bc?
There is also some UX issues where I did not grant access for the user to add a Web Form but the button is still enabled and shown. When the user clicks on it an Error is shown stating they don't have enough permissions for the action. In such cases the "Add a Web Form" button should just be hidden.

Thanks Liam, for your quick response. I see what you mean with good training and site structure.
It's too bad though, these features would polish the UX for our clients (backend users), avoid us having to structure the site a certain way and simplify training. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I think it'd be a key improvement on BC's service for us and other potential partners.
