Problem creating an application

Hi I've got a problem with my application.
The normal Lab_View VI of my programm works just fine.
But as soon as I build the application I get numerous problems , like for example some of my DAQ Functions can't find their Physical chanels etc.
Unfortunately I can't post the VI.
I'm using LabView 8.2.

I have seen something similar. Did you create any DAQmx task or channel definitions in your project or did you create them in MAX?
In the case of a co-worker, the problem was the project based DAQmx channels and he had to blow away the project based channels and recreate them in MAX. The problem was verified by NI tech support but I never did hear anything about a fix.
I would suggest creating a very simple vi that uses part of your DAQmx code and run a couple of experiments. First verify that the small .exe has the same problem. If your original vi used project based channels, then try redefining them in MAX and see what happens.

Problem Creating APPLICATION Bean

As you all know, JSF application bean are used to store information across all user sessions.
When I create an application bean class with sun creator 2 release, my IDE freezes. And I have to restart creator and then it enters a slump again and the loop continues.
Please could someone guide me.
I intend to use the application bean to cache an object that is required by all users so that once the app bean is initialized then it can be available across all user session. Then each user can take that object and use it for it operations.
I will be glad if I could get help pretty soon.

I have tried to use the default ApplicationBean1 that gets created when u create a new project.
To my amazement, when I embed codes in constructor or init() creator freeze-up and i have to shutdown abruptly and restart. The problem persist until i use the file system to expunge the code i'd earlier embedded.

for data & meta data this is work o.k (test with no errors). the sld is o.k.

We also had same problem but no we won't. Check ur config on SLD again and the try to the test connection from the http://localhost:4444/webdynpro ( WAS 6.4 )server.
If this connection is OK then deploy some small application n see.
Is ur's JCo connection working for J2ee application?

Problem creating application from spreadsheet(.csv)

I am experiencing a problem while creating an application from a spreadsheet (.csv file). I select upload csv file, the filename, and on the set table properties page the columns are in random order. Normally, the columns follow the order of the first line of the .csv file with comma separated column names. If the columns are not in the order specified in the .csv file, it cannot be loaded. I have used this method a few times and never had this problem in the past. Any information is appreciated.

Sure you cannot utilize the spread sheet functions in creating a Database app.
You can do what you want by either using SQL function in the Report source, or if you use Interactive report then you can do it using Actions Menu >> Format >> compute .. Then you save your report as a default report.

Problem creating Application Server Connection

Hi,
I am experiencing some problem in getting the connection to work right after I install the JDeveloper 10.1.3, the following is the configuration I used, please help me on this:
Connection Type: Standard OC4J 10g 10.1.3
Host name: localhost , RMI Port: 23791
Firewall for port 23791 is turned off for both UDP and TCP.
When I test for connection, I got the following error:
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23791/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
I do not understand why this happen. Do I need to turn on any server to get this to work? Please help me. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. After doing much research here and there, I managed to get it work. I think it would be better that I shared my experience with everyone and this is how I get my first JSP on JDeveloper (OC4J) to work:
- Start the OC4J server by running [Where you installed your JDeveloper]/jdev/bin/start_oc4j.bat
- Create an application server connection. [For username: admin, password: welcome, URL: ormi://localhost:23791/]
Just wonder if anyone can give me a clue on how do I change my port to 80 instead of the default 8988 and also how to change the context root?

Modify a Page created in Application Builder (cursor problem)

I created a application in the 'Application Builder' that comes with Oracle Express. I can not get the cursor to start in the first field if that field is a 'text field automatically submit when enter pushed'. it only works when I change that field to 'text field'.
Is there a way to fix this?

Can I pull up the code for that page and modify it manually?
or
Can I open that form in JDeveloper?

Around here, apex, ApEx, APEX, is short for Oracle Application Express.
Oracle XE comes with Oracle Application Express, however it is Application Express version 2.1. The latest production version of Application Express is version 3.2.1.00.12. See here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/download.html for information on upgrading your version of ApEx to the latest version. It provides tons of improvements over what was already a sweet tool.
Application Builder is just one of the tools (albiet the primary tool) in ApEx. It sounds like you're definitely going to want to spend some time with the Help, and also in the number of tutorials available at http://apex.oracle.com/i/index.html to get up to speed with it. There's too many places to list here where you can incorporate Javascript into your applications - but check out the help and tutorials and I'm sure you'll soon no longer be a "total noob"! I'm assuming you do mean Javascript - not Java - two very different languages used for two completely different things.

The problem is an application (Angry Birds) in my app store's update section that doesn't exist my installed applications.
It has been seen update section for two months and that is created by an account which is not my account
How can I remove this object from my app store's update section?

Error while creating OCA application in NWDS 7.1

Dear Experts,
I am creating mobile application for Handhelds (OCA) using mobile 7.1.
I created the service component, ui component and application component. Added the dependencies, build the application, uploaded the 3 components to the server, assigned it to my device.
But when I login into the mobile client in PDA, in application launcher screen, no application appears. In Device admin portal when i check, the status of MCD is installed.
Also when i simply run the application from NWDS using the built in PDA simulator, the application doesnt show any data and on the NWDS console i get the following error

I am sure the coding part is not a problem. As before this application i created a similar application for Laptops and its working fine.

I have installed MinDB and all the required files on the PDA. It is synchronizing with the middleware.
On my NWDS PDA Simulator , the application is appearing but when i click on the application there is no data and it is giving exception

1) BASIS SWCV must be assigned in the Distribution Model Software Component Version tab of the device.
It is assigned
2) Activate the "DISTRIBUTE_USER_DETAILS" Rule in the admin.
Rule is activated
3) Activate the "DISTRIBUTE_USER_AUTHORIZATIONS" Rule in the admin.
Rule is activated
4) Make sure that you have installed the following components in the following sequence in the PDA
- Creme
- MinDB/DB2e
- PDA_eswt_container
- PDA Runtime.
Client is installed in this sequence only. I referrred to help.sap.com while installing
the application should atleast work in the NWDS PDA simulator. My basic problem is it is not picking up the data. giving the above mentioned error.

Error While create web application

When I try to create new web application on my server it return error as the Virtual directory already in use. For example if I create the web application in 9090 port means it shown the error the virtual directory 9090 was already used by other application
. but I am sure there are no site in the directory. I am try with 3 or 4 different port same problem. I have try to create web application with host header and without host header also same problem was occur.

Hi Ravin,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you create a new web application.
Please log on the server with administrator account.
And please check the followings:
Ensure you have a proper dns name / entry in the hosts file of your server for the new url you are wanting to create.
Ensure you have typed in the ‘host header’ typed in when creating the new web application.
If this doesnt work, open IIS Manager – Start>run> inetmgr> and verify the home directory – it could be located on a different drive.

How to create an application with a 'Windows' like interface?

I am trying to create an application with an windows like interface where menu selections need to open bound taskflows in a page/window but i can not get it to work. I did the following
- i created a page template with a panelStretchLayout
- added a menuBar with commandMenuItems
- created a start page based on the template
- created bound taskflows with page fragments for all menu items
- placed a dynamic region on the start page which initially shows a taskflow with an empty/blank page fragment
- change the dynamic region taskflow from every menuitem and added partial triggers on the dynamic region for every menu item
When i run the application the first empty page fragment is showed correctly but when i select a menu item the correct new page fragment is showed but it keeps showing a loading data .... hint and seems to freeze. So no data is showed while the underlying datacontrols work while using the bc tester.
Besides this problem i am wondering if i at all am going the right way with this with using a dynamic region? In the final application i will have a total of about 25 menu items over several menus and if they all will be showing in one main dynamic region with partial triggers set to all menu items it may get a bit complex? I saw you can also create a window in a popup which i like even more because it looks like an actual window but this is modal. I would like a bound taskflow to be opened whenever a menu selection is made.
Any pointers or tips or the solution to not showing data?

If have not encountered that problem. Are you sure you have a taskflow entry under the executables tag in the page definition of the page which has the dynamic region on it? I have one like this:

I am fairly new to vb.net and have read a few books and followed a few tutorials on youtube, what I would like to know is, are there any disadvantages
to the way I have connected to a SQL database using the SQLControl.vb. A lot of the vb books include data adapter and dataset within the form, I'm not sure if I'm following best practice by have the connection details outside of the form.
My other question is, I have created two connections in the SQLControl and call these connections within the same form using the same data adapter
and dataset. It all works fine but I just wanted to know of any potential issues?

1) You are not using Sepration of concerns for a solution that is doing data access, like using a DAL.

3) You are not using a UI design pattern, which leads you to tightly couple database activity to the UI.

@System243trd, parameters are important to prevent SQL injection attacks (people will insert SQL commands into the database if you do not perform basic checking of what you are passing to the database). If you write a stored procedure try to make
the variables the correct SQL server data type to avoid problems later of people trying to call it directly.  Darnold924 is right, I see no code to prevent against SQL injection attacks. In addition, during development in some instances LocalSQLDB
database system is used and during deployment you usually need to use the production SQL server database. Moreover, Linq-to-SQL is used on Windows Phone 8.1 and it is required for phone development later and so I highly recommend learning
it if you plan on developing windows phone applications.
@System243trd, If you want the code for the windows phone app I think it uses the MVVM model or that might be for universal apps or regular windows phone apps. I have been using the windows phone Silverlight pivot or panorama template (it might
be pieces of both). I've already submitted to the windows phone marketplace and it had to go through certification first. I plan on later making an article on it but I need to first fix one or two simple problems I have with it. Here's a link to

Error 1603 in deploying Office 2003 by creating an application object using its MSI package!

Hello,
I got the error of 1603 when I ran Office 2003 MSI package through NAL. I
have no idea how to resolve this problem. Even though I enabled logging in
Office 2003 installation, I still could not figure out what went wrong and
what caused the error.
I have used Snapshot to create an application object for a long time with
little problem. However, I could not successfully deploy any MSI package
created by an application object. I knew ZenWork Managing Application has
the feature, but I don't know how to make it work in our environment.
Do I have to know more about Microsoft Window Installer ?

Is it possible to embed DAQmx in Installer(created by Application Builder)?

The good thing of Installer (created by application Builder) is that it also integrates LabView Runtime Engine along with supports like Serial port support, Port I/O support etc. Due to which one can install the application developed by Labview on any system wheather that contains Labview or not, as the engine required by that application also gets installed.
But problem with my application is that it uses DAQmx related stuff, so I have to install DAQmx 8.0 prior to running my application installer on any system. Is it possible that the DAQmx related stuff required by my application also gets install through same installer as it installs LabView Runtime Engine, so that the distribution of my application donot require the complete installation of DAQmx.

You need to use LV 8.0. You can add NIDAQ to your installer in LV 8.0. In previous versions I do not think it is possible.
