Problem displaying two columns in JCombobox using EnumerationBinding

I am using a JComboBox with an EnumerationBinding where I selected two attributes to be displayed in the combobox. But, it displays the first one only.
I am using jDeveloper 9.0.3 version(latest version).
The code is as follows.

Afaik, it's not possible using only classes provided in java.swing/java.awt packages.
One possible solution is to use custom renderer. By default JList and JComboBox are rendered using single JLabel. Our renderes should use several labels put on panel as rendereing component. For information see "Providing custom renderer" in "How to Use Combo Boxes" tutorial article, please. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/combobox.html#renderer

How to display two "columns" in combobox?

Hi,
I need to display two strings for each row of a combobox. Say string array str1 = {"abc", "aw", "axz12"}, str2 = {"12.1", "33.123", "5.06612"}. Now I want to display them in a combo box as a "table with 2 columns", i.e. when the drop down menu is clicked, it will show something like a table (with or w/o borders)
abc 12.1
aw 33.123
axz12 5.06612
if the first one is selected, it will show "abc 12.1". I could use jcomboboxA.addItem(str1[i] + " " + str2), but it does not show nicely -- not as a table. Is there any way to do it?

Thanks for the answer to the first question. Though if I include the list.setFont() method in the getListCellRendererComponent or in the custom UI i've created, I still get monospaced data.
As for the second one about getting long data to display correctly
I already changed the tabstop location from right to left and all data appears fine for most of the elements in the list, but if the text is very long for the second column, the long text values in the 2nd column smash up against the values in the first column. (I wish I could provide a screen print here... a thousand words and all that). Here's what the data looks like in the list:
aa's really really really really really long description
x x's description
y y's description
zz's really really really really long description
I've already resized the popup list so there's plenty of room to show the long text. I'll paste the code here so you can see exactly what I've got. I give the combobox 2 string arrays, one for codes & one for descriptions. combo.getText() needs to give JUST the code. The popup window stuff is mostly cut & paste (probably from camikr's other posting), so I'm not sure if the difficulty is there... I cannot profess to understand each line.

Problem with two-column layout

I've done table-based layouts for several years, but I'm
trying to switch to CSS. I still have a lot to learn...
I'm trying to create a web site as a favor for a friend. She
hasn't figured out what she wants yet, so I've just been creating
some pages using canned designs. I created one using "Two-column
left nav" under Dreamweaver's "Page designs (CSS)":

I want a fixed-width left navigation column and a fluid
content column.
I ran into several problems with the original design. The
most notible was that if I changed the browser window width, both
the content and nav columns would resize. I didn't want that, so I
set "navBar" width: 150px. That worked, but if I make the window
too narrow, the content starts to overlap the navigation column in
Firefox 1.5.0.6, and the navigation DIV drops to below the content
in IE 7 rc (I think) 3 and IE6. I tried removing the width
altogether, but that made things worse.
What is wrong with this picture? Is there a cleaner way to
solve my problem?

We are experiencing a problem when attempting to display Arabic characters within a PDF document using the Java APIs.

The method getXLIFFFile( ) gets the relevant XLIFF file for the supplied report locale (if it exists) – the three test files that we used were Italian (example_it_IT.xlf), Spanish (example_es_ES.xlf) and Arabic (example_ar_AE.xlf).
I imported the following JAR files from the XML Publisher release (version 5.6.2) into my Java application: collections.jar, i18nAPI_v3.jar, versioninfo.jar, xdocore.jar and xmlparserv2.jar.
The output is OK for all three translations in HTML format, using a charset of UTF-8, and for Italian and Spanish in PDF format. However, the Arabic characters display as question marks in PDF format. The same issue occurs if I stream the output as a byte array straight to the HTTP response rather than save within a file.
Note that the same RTF, XDT and XLIFF files produce the correct output in both HTML and PDF when executed within XMLPublisher.

I had a similar issue with arabic chars. With PDF layout, chars were appearing properly when preveiwd on local m/c, but as I implement file on server, it was displayed as ?????. I had raised a TAR 5798348.993 with oracle about this and they suggested to apply patch 4028294 Oracle Sourcing J Rollup and then patch 4182914. But later my users changed requirement and i cud not apply the patch to test if it works fine.
But here, you have suggested that installing fonts would do. Is it really that simple? If yes, dont know what is that patch for which I was told to apply.

Display two columns in hierarchy level

Hello,
I have created a simple hierarchy with 3 levels, each with a number key and description.
When I create an analysis, I only see the number being displayed for each level.
I have already tried adding the description column in the RPD as 'Use for display', but it didnt work.
Also tried messing with the hierarchy properties in the presentation layer, but no luck.
What I could do is create a calculated field which concatentates both number and description columns into one.. but is that really necessary?

Technically, Description ID column in rpd works with prompt selection because where you will have to select "Enable user to select code by column" which brings sql with id rather than text as shown below
OBIEE, Endeca and ODI: Description ID column - OBIEE 11g
In your case you should go with new column with concatenation let me know if you have any difficulty in doing it !

Problem with blob column index created using Oracle Text.

I'm running Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.1.0 standard edition one, on windows server 2003 R2 x64.
I have a table with a blob column which contains pdf document.
Then, I create an index using the following script so that I can do fulltext search using Oracle Text.

My user has been granted the ctx_app role and I have other tables that store plain text which I use Oracle Text are fine. I even output the blob column and save as pdf file and they are fine.
However the database seems like not indexing my blob column although the index can be created without error.
Please advise.

The situation is I have already loaded a few pdf document into the table's blob column.
After I create the Oracle text index on this blob column, I find the system generated index tables listed in my earlier posting are empty, except for the 4th table.
Normally we'll see words inside the table where those are the words indexed by oracle text on my document.
As a result, no matter how i search for the index using select statement with contains operator, it will not give me any result.
I feel weird why the blob is not indexed. The content of the blob are actually valid because I tested this by export the content back to pdf and I can still view and search within the pdf.

Problem displaying Blob column as an image

Hi all,
Ik have created an attribute (as part of an Entity Object and a View object) on top of a blob column.
With JHeadstart I generated one insert group (display type fileUpload) and one query group (display type image).
I managed to upload (and store) pictures.
However when I query the pictures the folowing occurs:
1. when I scroll through the records the first time the picture is shown OK
2. the secod time when I scroll through the same dataset the picture is not shown...
3. when I restart the pageGroup, the pictures are shown..
Do you have any suggestions?

Spool ALV not displaying two column value

In spool ALV is getting displayed. But the output is not printing the value of 2 columns , both are MATNR values. I checked the output table it is fetching the material number but ALV is not displaying it. please help its urgent. The GI material is not getting displayed.

As per the above screenshot I assume there should be only 2 possible cases as said by Jyoti. Apart from that there is no other chance of missing data, especially for couple of columns in the output.
If you are passing the value at run-time to MATNR and you are able to see that in output, hence your final internal table which you are passing to the ALV is not filled appropriately with MATNR values. May be those values are cleared somewhere.
It would be better if you could share some piece of your subroutine FIELDCATFILL code. Also place a breakpoint before ALV display and check if the fieldcatalog and the final internal table are having the appropriate values.

assuming a static delimiter, and the split will end up with a max of 2 columns, something like this would work. basically you just need to determine where the delimiter is, and then use the left and right functions to find the 2 pieces.

Flowing text from two column master pages

I'm trying to create a document with a two column master page using two separate text boxes rather than a text box with 2 columns. When I flow the text into page 1 of the document it autoflows and creates the rest of the pages automatically but uses a page wide single column rather than the 2 columns I have on my master page. How can I make it create the new pages with the two columns on them? This is CS4.

I need to know EXACTLY what you've set up and how you are flowing the text before I can tell you what's going wrong.
Do you have a master text frame or frames? Did you override the master frame before placing the text? Are there column guides on the master page? Some screen captures might help, too. You can embed them in a post by clciking on the camera icon on the web page:

Two column display

Greetings all,
I had a MovableType blog hosted by Yahoo and I decided to move the files to my Network Solutions account where the domain is registered.
All files were transferred and the DNS changed to point to the new location (http://theargonauts.info/index.html). But the blog, which used to display in two columns, now only displays in one. Previously when I've had this problem it was because there were too many or too few </div> tags at the end of the post where the break is supposed to occur, around line 100 in my Dreamweaver editor. But Dreamweaver doesn't show any unfinished <div> statements and adding or deleting them makes no difference, it still displays in one column. I thought there might be something in the .css but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.
This is driving me crazy and any insight will be greatly appreciated.

How best to display a two column menu in Flash 8?

I have a flash 8 template and i am using Macromedia Flash Professional 8. I want to create a menu in a scrollable text box, which has two columns exactly aligned like so:

However, when i test the movie there is no formatting and the text is misaligned. I already have the above text (and there is alot of it) in the exact format, in a word file, so i could copy and paste the text instead of writing it out all over again.
I have been advised that it is better to use the Datagrid component to display the above text in a table?
My question is, how can i use the Datagrid component to display the text aligned exactly as above? Do i need to create html tables and then get the datagrid component to call this html file, xml file or actionscript? I am not familiar with xml or actionscript.

Not sure what the easiest way is to create such a two column menu in Flash because the tab key on the keyboard does not work in a scrollable textbox only the space bar. And using the space bar does not align the text correctly.
However, i do have a html file which i created using html tables. Is there a way to import the html file into a scrollable textbox in flash? The raw html code example is a little different as i have included the borders, but the idea is the same - a two-column scrollable menu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 17" Macbook pro with flickering red and cyan(blue) lines across the screen. The issue disappears temporarily when I tap on the computer, and the problem does not occur when I use external display or try to screen capture the problem.

I purchased my Macbook (17") through a certified apple tecnition in August 2012, it was refurbished and the motherboard was completely replaced. I do a lot of photo editing, but I have been unable to do so because of the red vibrating lines that interrupt my screen. The issue disappears temporarily when I tap on the computer, and the problem does not occur when I use external display or try to screen capture the problem. I brought the computer back to the technition I purchased it from and he said that it was a problem with my fan, so I have two new fans but the issue is still occuring. He says he doesnt know whats wrong. Does anyone have any information on this issue?

I recommend having your Mac serviced by someone competent. A force sufficient to "blow apart" the fans was clearly excessive and may have damaged the display cable, as well as any number of other problems.
Dust is properly cleaned with a vacuum, preferably one designed for computer service, and they are not cheap.
Compressed air should never be used. It just blows dust everywhere, often into places where it can no longer be removed.
