Problem encountered on the FM fo the New column content

Hello Gurus,
I am still new to the enterprise portal content delvelopment and also still don't have much idea on this.
One of our abapers developed a FM serves as the column content for one of the newly created field in the 'My Staff - ECM' - 'Promotion' Iview. Upon running the page, we encountered the following error message:
<b><i>An error occurred: com.sap.pct.hcm.ecm.ApplicationException: Error in the module RSQL accessing the database interface. &INCLUDE &P9, error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE</i></b>
Can somebody explain to me what's the cause of this?

Pdf printing problem encountered in specific applications in the workspace.

Hi,
I am experiencing this problem which i am not able to figure out.
After installing and configuring the BI publisher, for the newer applications i develop printing option works fine.
But for the applications which were already present in the workspace before installing BI Publisher, when I press the download button(which should branch to the url specified in the report query), it is directed to the specified url but the page is blank. I do not get any pdf attachment for downloading.
Could that be a problem in configuring the BI Publisher?

Following information might help you to resolve the issue.
An Acrobat PDF document generated from Web Intelligence XI Release 2 does not print correctly from some older Xerox printers. Some of the cells do not display the data that is there.
Business Objects 5.1.x uses the PDF v1.2 conversion engine. BusinessObjects XI Release 2 uses PDF v1.5. Therefore, the fonts are rendered as TrueType in the resulting PDF file. To confirm this, open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and click File > Document Properties > Font tab.
A PDF generated from BusinessObjects 5.1.x will have the font type as Type 1. A PDF generated from BusinessObjects XI Release 2 will have the font type as TrueType.
As per the product group, it states that this is by design, as there can be other regression issues for using the older PDF conversion engine and Type 1 fonts.
The printing problem has not been reported with newer printers.

On Sympatico homepage, my local weather and news does not come up unless I refresh the page. But when I return to the homepage during the same session, local news/weather is gone again. Is this correctable?

When I first open the browser and it goes my homepage, Sympatico.ca, there are 2 areas of the homepage you can personalize. On the left hand side "News" Column, the bottom box "Local News" allows you to select a location (Toronto, Ontario Canada for me) to display news from that area. On the far right hand column, below the advertising bar, is "Weather" where you select your city (Brantford in my case) and it will display the 4 day forecast in C or F degrees. Once you close the homepage the settings are saved. The problem is that when I leave the homepage to any other website, if I return to the homepage the weather and local news is back to the default setting of having to select the city again. I did find if I just refreshed the page, the personalized settings appear. I have Firefox 4 and it seemed to correct the problem when I installed 4 as the same problem had been occurring with my previous version of Firefox. But now it's back to having to refresh the page to get the saved location for local weather and news. My wife uses IE8 on the same PC and has not had this problem on her Sympatico homepage.

The ifconfig line the server is pushing is not right. That is meant for a point to point connection. That is why the local client is puking on it...it is not correct. At least for a tun type device. If it was a tap, then it would be fine.

I am aware that many people, like me, have lost the ability to mirror their iPad, iPhone or computer with Apple TV. Has anyone yet found a solution? One day it worked, the next day the option to switch between the device and Apple TV had disappeared.

Has anyone managed to resolve the problems encountered with Apple TV and the loss of ability to mirror iphones, ipads or computers? One day it was working perfectly, from all the above devices, the next the option to switch between playing on the device or mirroring to apple tv had disappeared. I have tried all the obvious such as updating iTunes, turning all devices off and then back on, but nothing is working. Help please!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your problem is most certainly network related, you might try restarting your devices including your router as a temporary solution, but in the long term would be better correcting the problems with your network.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

Removing the ID of a lookup column when exporting SharePoint list to Excel

Hi,
I export a list in Excel and I noticed the lookup column contains an ID together with the name (e.g. John Doe, #12). Is there a way I can avoid exporting the ID in Excel?

LookUp Field Values have a string representation of “(ID);#(VALUE)”, i.e. “2;#Second Entry”.
If you export the list in excel you could create a formula or macro that split/copy only the value in a
new column and then hide the real one.

How can i add to a listBox items near in a new column other items ?

The items on the right i changed the property of the listBox1 righttoleft to Yes.
My problem is i want to build a new column for the number so each number i'm adding will be next on the left to the belong item string. And not under it like now.
1. Maybe i need to use another control and not listBox ?
2. How can i add column/s and also maybe adding a title to each column like: Names Id Number....?

If you want columns, you should consider a
ListView or
DataGridView.

New column header on Interactive Report

We have an interactive report on a view and when we add a new column to the view, we would need the report to add the header automatically too (without previous deployment). Can this be done in simple manner?

Hi,
I have tested the behavior of the different reports in Apex.
This is the conclusions:
Created a new column in a test table and running directly the Apex application with the table mapped in three reports:
1- Interactive Report:
- No errors in the report when you open it but the new column is not showed.
2- Classical Report with default options:
- Errors showed when you open it (ora-01403 No data found)
3- Classical Report with the option checked "Use Generic Columns Names":
- It shows automatically the new column in the report.
But still I do not have a solution to solve the problem.

New Column in Report

Hi Experts,
I am creating a report and stuck, Let me give some context and then explain the problem.
I am having a characteristic called Cost Center which is a hierarchy and few more like Project Description, Project EClassification.
Now the requirement is to create a report, which has a column called DIVISION, and this is related to Cost Center Characteristic in a way that few cost centers make up a division. and the report could be sorted on other characteristics like Project Description, Project Classification.
Eg:A and B cst centers make up X division.
Now the problem is that, How to create this new column, called division.
I have created a structure and correspondingly restricted, it worked, but the sorting according the Project Description or Project Classification isnt working. Even if i sort it according to Project Description in Query, its sorting in the corresponding Divisions but not the entire column.
Can any one help me out please

Hi Arun,
What I got from you is you want to display in report data based on the characteristic which is sorted and which is not part of structure in rows( basically a characteristic structure). If this is the case put ur characteristic above the structure you defined and you can sort the characteristic by right clicking on it.

Is there an easy way to append a new column of data to an existing xl file?

I am modifying and existing program and the new needs are to have a compilation of averaging information to later be plotted with an xl graph. The VI will need to open the existing xl file, add the new column of data points without disturbing the existing columns of data, with a column header, and save the new file with the existing file name. The open and save are obviously not a problem, but I have never appended a new column, just rows in the past. The existing program is LV5.1, but i have a professional developement version of LV6i at my disposal if I need to convert it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

INdeed there is. YOu want to use the "write characters to file" node. (If you're using numerical data, you might have to convert with one of the STRING conversion functions) YOu want to concatenate the string as follows: TAB/DATA/CARRIAGE RETURN. Also be sure to wire TRUE to the Append File terminal of the WRite Characters to File node.. Good luck!

Mapping tool creates new columns one at a time

Hi All,
I'm using Kodo 3.2.2 with MySql 4.1. I have a fairly large table (over
2million rows) representing one persistent class. I need to add several
new fields to the object, which will require a refresh mapping on the
database to add new columns for the fields.
It seems when I run refresh mapping on the database, Kodo is adding each
new field individually in seperate ALTER TABLE statements, rather than
adding all the columns in one ALTER TABLE statement.
With MySQL and large tables, this can really increase the time required to
refresh the mapping - I've tried with MSSQL and that database must handle
ALTER TABLE commands differently because it doesn't take a fraction of the
time that MySQL takes.
Is this a bug (I doubt it), but rather a feature improvement?

Thanks Abe for the reply - I've been meaning to look at the process of
creating SQL scripts to perform the refresh mappings on our databases.
I'll have a look at this process before we talk contracting!

Addition of New Column name "Qty" in user defined layout for CJR2

Hi Friends,
I am going thorugh variurs posts but could not a fetch correct answer. If that was available and missed, sorry about that.
My requirement is, wanted to have new user defined layout which would be copied from 1-701 (CJR2). The layout should have new column which would be named as "Qty".
Note that I tried to change name after pulling new fileds from left side to right hand side but these fields are grayed out in change layout.
What is the work around solution to have new column and tthis wouold be named as "Qty". Let me ask one question is it possible to add new fields name to standard layout like 1-702 other than what it has been delivered by SAP????.

Have you tried MENU > Edit > Columns > Append additional fields?
I think you can not choose any other characteristics other than SAP has provided which is mentioned in SAP Help.

Add a new column in Folder in Discoverer9i Administrator

We are using Discoverer9i Administrator. Initially we have created a view and add this view in Discoverer Administrator. After somtime we have added two new columns in the view, but these new columns are not reflecting in Discoverer Administrator.
I would like to know how can we add both these column in Discoverer in same folder without deleting and recreating the folder.

Login as Discoverer Administrator, right click on the folder and select refresh. This should then prompt you to add the new columns to the folder.

can't you just write an SQL script to update the new column?
