Problem implmenting Authorisation Schemes

Hi All
I am having some problem testing a simple authorisation scheme. I have followed the example as set out in the HTML DB example (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gdb/develop/htmldb/htmldb.htm#l10).
I have created a descriptions tables for admin and inserted an admin user called A1. The next step was to go to create an authorisation scheme, I called it ADMIN. The scheme type was EXISTS SQL QUERY and the code is as follows:
SELECT '1'
FROM ADMIN_DESCRIPTIONS
WHERE USERID = :APP_USER
Next, I click on the report attributes links on a selected page, and into the primary key attributes. Under authorisation I clicked on ADMIN to enable it.
However when I try to view this page either with user A1 (who is on the ADMIN_DESCRIPTIONS table) or others who are not I get the following error:
''ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
     Error      ERR-1082 Error in executing authorization scheme code.''
I would appreciate any help.
Many thanks
Shahram

I solved this issue. For future reference, in case anyone was wondering, I had not granted the users to select the tables!

  • Exporting Authentication/Authorisation Schemes

    Hi, is there a way to export authentication/authorisation schemes? Also, if I manually creates the authorisation schemes on production server, and then import the pages, the pages won't link up the schemes like on the development server. How to fix this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi user469838,
    Which version are you using? We are on 2.0 and in that authentication/authorisation are included in the normal application export/import.

    Where is you XML coming from. Are you sure it's valid. If you are hard coding it as a SQL String constant are you hitting the 4k / 32K limit on the size of SQL / PL/SQL constant. Have you tried loading the content from a bfile..

  • Problem in building schema when try to invoke the another BPEL service

    Hi all,
    Whenever try to Invoke a another BPEL service using the Invoke activiy and Partnerlink, we need to create a variable structure similar to the providing service.
    For this I used create Auto Varible option available in the invoke activity. But after creating the variable, I tried to expand the variable for the copy operation, the error iam getting is Problem in building schema.
    This error never happened to me before. I have no clue.
    Jdev version:10.1.3.3.0
    Soa version:10.1.3.3.0
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks.

    Hi Lokesh,
    Iam not able to understand what you are trying to say. But my Input variable and Invoke Input variable are compatible, no problem on this. I got some clue from your reply.
    Finally I got it worked by doing it in another way.
    In my Invoking BPEL Process(ie. BPEL Process is trying to invoke the another BPEL Process using Partnerlink) wsdl I imported the partnerlink BPEL schema and it get solved my problem.
    eg) <import namespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/BpelProcessname" schemaLocation="ParnerLinkBPELSchema.xsd"/>
    This can be usefull for others and I never did this to import the schema manually before, but it works without any errors.
    Now only it causing this problem, whether it is any Jdeveloper issue.
    And i tryed this using Jdev version 10.1.3.4.0, but still the same exception.
    This workaround will usefull for others.
    Thanks for your reply.
    bye.....

  • I am facing a new problem with xml schema, plz help me

    Hi @,
    I am facing a problem with xml schema validation. Below is my code.
    public void initialize(String cfgFileName) {
    try {
    try {
    DOMParserWrapper parser = (DOMParserWrapper)Class.forName("dom.wrappers.DOMParser").newInstance();
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/dom/defer-node-expansion",true );
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation",true);
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces",true );
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",true );
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema-full-checking",true );
    Document document = parser.parse(cfgFileName);
    System.out.println("Vijay .. code .. damar\n");
    }catch (org.xml.sax.SAXParseException spe) {
    } catch (org.xml.sax.SAXNotRecognizedException ex ){
    } catch (org.xml.sax.SAXNotSupportedException ex ){
    } catch (org.xml.sax.SAXException se) {
    if (se.getException() != null)
    se.getException().printStackTrace(System.err);
    else
    se.printStackTrace(System.err);
    }catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Caught unknown exception : \n");
    e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    System.out.println("Vijay .. code .. success\n");
    DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    //docBuilder.setErrorHandler(myErrorHandler);
    cfg = docBuilder.parse(new File(cfgFileName));
    cfg .getDocumentElement ().normalize ();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    In the above code I am parsing the xml file and i am doing schema validation. Schema validation is proper and it is validating correctly. Only problem is that, It is validating and showing error correctly correctly but it is not catching that error.
    For clear understanding I am printing one statement before parsing and after parsing.
    SYSTEM.OUT.PRINTLN("Vijay .. code .. damar\n") this is before parsing
    SYSTEM.OUT.PRINTLN("Vijay .. code .. success\n") this is after parsing
    Here what is happening means, It is validating correctly and showing error :
    [Error] nw_layout-new.xml:800:97: Datatype error: Value 'y' does not match regular expression facet 'yes|no'..
    Vijay .. code .. damar
    Vijay .. code .. success
    Here it is showing error and still continueing not catching.
    Plz give solution for this.
    Thanks

  • Problem building the Schema...

    Hi,
    I have two BPEL processes..Say 'BPELProcess1' and 'BPELProcess2'..I am trying to invoke the 'BPELProcess1' in 'BPELProcess2'..I am able to create the partner link..but the problem here is when I try to assign the values to the 'BPELProcess1' using an assign activity..It is not showing the variables of the 'BPELProcess1'....Instead it is displaying 'Exception:problem building the schema', Any how I am able to solve this by importing the schema of the 'BPELProcess1'...but Is there any way that we can overcome this problem with out importing the schema....
    Note: I am using the JDeveloper 10.1.3.3

    I have the same problem - Exception: Problem building schema! I assume something's wrong with the schema (:) but no clue as to how to fix it. Don't see anything helpful on the discussion forum so far, except previous post by Feroz without reply. Anyone?

  • Wwan connection problem: pap authorisation

    I have a Thinkpad Helix with a wwan modul and Windows 8 64 bit, but I can't connect to my operator apn bob.at in austria (which is a sub-operator of A1).
    Does anybody have a simmilar problem?
    I already googled the problem, and just found out that this might be a apn-setting problem (wrong authorisation).

    This was the answer given me by phone support and it did no good(*).
    An update of Access Connections, however, seems to have done helped, mostly.  So long as I disconnect the WWAN using the Access Connections hotkey before sleep or hibernate, I can bring it back after waking the system.  However, sometimes I have to toggle the hardware switch before the system can actually cause the system to see the WWAN.
    The situation is better than a reboot...
    (*) It did temporarily help the sleep of death issue, where the system doesn't sleep and after about ten minutes reboots after an invisible BSOD.  However, after recent Lenovo updates, that issue has returned.  Applying the patches no longer helps.

  • Security-Authorisation Schemes

    Hi,
    I would like to restrict access to pages to some users:
    For example:
    User 1 have access to Page 1 and 2
    User 2 have access to Page 2 and 3
    I know there's something to do with authorisation schemes but is there any tutorials I can be refered to ?
    Thanks

    See my response here:
    About Hiding Tabs
    As I stated, you should control the access using groups instead of single users:
    DECLARE
       v_group   VARCHAR2 (4000) DEFAULT NULL;
    BEGIN
       SELECT HTMLDB_UTIL.get_groups_user_belongs_to (:app_user)
         INTO v_group
         FROM DUAL;
       IF INSTR (v_group, 'TEST') > 0
       THEN
          RETURN TRUE;
       ELSE
          RETURN FALSE;
       END IF;
    END;And then follow the explanation in the mentioned thread. Make sure you run this
    authorization scheme once per session instead of once per page view.

  • Large DB Performance problems when updating schemas

    Hi,
    I'm facing performance problems updating the schema of large databases in SQLServer 2008 R2 and I can't find a proper solution. I would have thought that this is a fairly common problem so here it goes.
    I have a database which is about 700Gb in size. I am going to detail 2 different issues:
    EXAMPLE 1: CHANGING A FIELD TYPE
    In that Database I have a table with the schema detailed below as Table_TB. This table contains several million records. As you can see there is a column of type TEXT (Comment_FD). What I am trying to do is changing  the column type to NVARCHAR(MAX) to
    remove the deprecated TEXT type and support UNICODE characters in that field.
    The command I am running is the following one:
    ALTER TABLE DBA.Table_TB ALTER COLUMN Comment_FD NVARCHAR(MAX)
    This operation takes several hours to complete.
    I tried the following:
    -Adding the new column to the same table and copying the data over
    -Creating a new entire table with the new field type modified and copy the data over
    -Exporting to disk the contents of the table, truncate the table and reimporting the data both with Management Studio and the bcp tool.
    -When copying to a new table I made also tried removing the PK of the table to skip the overhead of creating an index.
    -I also tried using a simple spd to copy the data over (to the column in the same table and the other table) in batches.
    In ALL my tests I set the SQLServer Recovery model to Simple to skip as much as I can the overhead of generating logs.
    No matter what I do, the times to complete this operation seem to be unusable.
    Please note that I am reducing this problem to its minimum expression. Can't say precisely how long the operation takes, but a script that contain 5 field type changes identical to that one in that and other two tables takes 7 days to complete!!! The REAL problem
    is that I have several other fields to which I need to change the type, and they currently amount to a total running time of 14 days!. And this is just changing a handful of fields in a handful of tables. At some point every string in the system will need
    to be migrated to get unicode support, making this completely impracticable.
    **Based on smaller DBs in the same system I guesstimate this table will contain about 14M records and will be about 44Gb in size.
    EXAMPLE 2: ADDING COLUMNS
    I have another table int the same DB, with a schema detailed below as Table_2_TB, and again several million records in it. I am trying to add a colum using the following SQL:
    ALTER TABLE DBA.Table2_TB ADD strFiDatasourceName_FD VARCHAR(64) NOT NULL DEFAULT ''
    This operation takes a bit more than 7 hours to complete.
    **Based on smaller DBs in the same system I guesstimate this table will contain about 54M records, and a size of 98Gb.
    QUESTIONS:
    ---->Am I doing something wrong, or is there any way to optimize either the SQL or the SQLServer configuration to speed this up?
    ---->Are these performance levels normal at all when dealing with databases of this size?
    ---->Anyone out there with experience on DBs of this size?
    ---->Does Microsoft offer some kind of service (cloud?) to make structural changes in large Dbs?
    Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
    This is the schema for the first table:

    Hi,
    I just wanted to summarize the conclusions we got here, in case it helps someone else.
    For the case of the ALTER statement:
    First we analyzed the query performance and found out that the query was I/O bound. A handful of useful scripts can be found on the links below. Some high values on PAGEIOLATCH wait times suggested some memory pressure, so we incremented the amount of memory
    dedicated to the server up to 32GB. This single change was one of the most effective ones and reduced the query execution time by about 40%-50%. I guess SQLServer needs less paging to perform the operation when it can load more pages in memory at the same
    time.
    We run more tests tweaking some other mentioned variables like the server maxDOP, which made in fact the query slower the higher the value we set. The initial server config was set with auto CPU affinity, but I/O mask affinity set to the first 4 CPUs, and
    we found out that setting it to ALL AUTO perform faster for some reason.
    After some analysis made by Microsoft on the diagnostics/metrics data, the only interesting finding was that a couple of the storage volumes were performing slightly slower than the rest causing a bit of a bottleneck. We recommended the customer to look
    into it with their storage team, but even with those fixed, we won't expect the query to run much faster.
    No other tweaks have been found useful to speed up the ALTER statement. Basically it comes up to how fast you I/O subsystem is, and how much can SQLServer can cache in memory. No other suggestion has been made by Microsoft, and they've advised that any
    other tweaked query (split the column addition and the constraints for example) is going to perform worse than the plain and simple alter statement.
    On the NVARCHAR type problem:
    As it was suggested by Erland Sommarskog, SQLServer 2014 Enterprise edition performed this operation about 40% faster than SQLServer 2008 R2 with the same hardware specs.
    At the moment upgrading the customer infrastructure is not an option for us, so we don't have a proper solution to accomplish this in a workable time frame on SQLServer 2008.
    The strategy that we found might be the best option was the one suggessted by E. Sommarskog, bind our code for reading access to a COALESCED calculated column, and writing on the new converted NVARCHAR column. Schedule a batch job in the backgroud
    to migrate all the data over time to the new column, and finally remove the old column.
    Thanks a lot everyone for your help.
    David.

  • XSD Changes - Problem Exception - creating schema

    I am having a problem and need your help. New to SOA.
    I have a xsd file in my project. Based on the xsd definition in the file I have created a BPEL variable (using element) refering to the xsd element name. Added a simplae assign statement and I could see the child elements fine during the Assign statement.
    However when I add new child element in the xsd file or even change the name of the pre-existing child element name the variable in the assign activity gives the error "Problem Exception - creating schema". I created a completely new variable by refering the xsd element but still the new variable also gives error "Problem Exception - creating schema".
    It appears that it does not like me changing the xsd file at all. Am I missing any step. Do I need to take any more step after changing the xsd to be able to create a new variable based on the xsd file.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    I looked it from the variable definition by clicking on "Exeception - Problem Building Schema" and it showing more details. The error is "Duplicated definition for : VariableFetchPOData"
    Where can I see the duplicated definition information. ?
    Please advise
    Thanks

  • Mapping problem with XML scheme

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario which I am trying to send a XML file through SFTP (Advanco) to a Z RFC.
    I created the message mapping, but I am dealing with a issue that I would like to see if it already happened with someone else and which is the best way to solve it.
    In the message mapping - test tab - source view we can find this xml tag regarding the messagetype (see that my MT is called ROOT)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:ROOT xmlns:ns0="http://www.post.ch/schemas/dfu/2006/20/Report6">
    the problem is, when I am testing the interface the original file comes like this below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ROOT xmlns="http://www.post.ch/schemas/dfu/2006/20/Report6">
    without ns0:
    And if I test in message mapping without ns0: I have the problem.
    Shouldnt it be equivalent ? I mean, as far as I know the ns0: shouldnt be a problem
    Does someone have any suggestion regarding my issue above ?
    Thank you
    Regards
    Diego

    Shouldnt it be equivalent ? I mean, as far as I know the ns0: shouldnt be a problem
    when you have a namespace in the message then you need to associate it with some prefix....since ns0 (or any other prefix) is not present you are getting the error....having the namespace but not ns0 is the problem.
    XMLAnonymizer bean may help you to add the namespace prefix...

  • Unexpected problem with authorization scheme of type plsql function

    Hi,
    I have created one authorization scheme of type plsql function returning boolean. Authorization scheme is for pages only. p2_user_priviledge is a textbox on home page which extract privilege (list of pagenos) for login user from database. Home page has no authorization required. AUTHORIZATION SCHEME always returns false. I am not able to trace problem in my code. same code works fine for a textbox's default returning 'c'.
    ----- CODE FOR AUTHORIZATION SCHEME------------------------------------------------------------
    declare
    pageid varchar2(10);
    privilege varchar2(300);
    c number(3);
    begin
    pageid := ':P'||to_char(:app_page_id)||':' ; ---Pageno get stored in format  *:P2:*
    privilege := trim(:p2_user_priviledge); ++------Contain list of privilege like    :P2:P13:P67:P23:  etc+++ select instr(privilege,pageid) into c from dual;
    if c>0 then
    return true;
    else
    return false;
    end if;
    end;
    One more problem is again related to authorization scheme.
    I created one application and one authorization scheme (auth_aug) which worked finely. Then after some days i added 10 more pages to same application, But now autho_aug was always returning false for new pages. So i copied code from 'autho_aug' to new scheme 'autho_sept', & it worked for new pages. I don't understand if code is same for both scheme, why required to use two different schemes.
    Now i have added few more pages to application, and facing problem mentioned earlier.
    any solution for both the problems.....

    Hi,
    Let me clear my problem once again.
    -->Home page i.e. P2 does not use authorization, So it is displayed along with text item :p2_user_privilege.
    -->Then user click on one of the links , Now page :P70: should get displayed.
    P70 is using authorization scheme.
    -->But :p2_user_priviledge value is not accessible at authorization scheme, I dont know why.
    I could not find out where to create Application item , as suggested by you.
    & not able to find Developer menu , session at home page as suggested earlier.
    And one more question, my application at runtime display
    X en us
    at bottom
    How to make it
    USER: X Language: en us
    Like in development environment.
    Hope I have cleared my problem, waiting for reply.

  • BI 7 Upgrade - Problem with Authorisation Variable on Compounded Char

    Dear All,
    We have just upgraded our DEV environment from 3.5 to BI7 and have encountered a weird problem with 1 of our authorization variables.
    Our authorization check variable checks the values from a table that the users are allowed to use (which includes the selection screen).  There are 2 variables 1 for the uncompounded char and 1 for the compounded char, the uncompounded variable is working just fine but not the other.  When the user tries to pick a value, they are presented with not just their restricted list but ALL the values.
    Can anyone explain this?  Has BI 7 changes the way authorizations work with Compounded Characteristics ?
    Before anyone asks, these variables work just fine on 3.5 and are working just fine in our QA and PRD environments.
    Help required urgently.
    Thanks
    Craig

    Hi,
    Yes authorisations in BI 7.0 are a bit different from the ones in BW 3.5. Here is the link which will help you know every thing in BI 7.0

    then
    I open an sqlplus session (sys/pass as sysdba) and to make sure that i am
    connected i execute
    select * from V$database ;
    it works
    then i execute :

    it works file.
    it mean that i am connected to database.
