Problem in accessing query
Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange problem when working with BI 7.0, can you please help me out.
One user is facing some authorization problem while executing queries, he is using query through BEX.
In order to analyse when i copy his user id and when i go to BEX I am not able to find those queries which original user is able to see.
Is there any specific reason for this .

Hi Rakesh,
We have an authorization object S_RS_COMP1 which ll provide access to queries based on the owner of the query. In that if the owner field is set to $USER the user can see only the queries created by him.
When u copy the user all the authorizations will be transferred and now the second user ll be able to see only queries created by him and cannot see the queries built by First user.
Check if any of the roles assigned to user use this particular authorization object and check the owner field value.
This could be one reason. If this is not the case, we will check for any other option.

Hi,
I have a problem with af:query. Here's what I do:
1. create a VO, define view criteria
2. drag and drop view criteria from data controls to an empty form, choosing query and table
3. When I run the page and click any of the buttons, I get: "Because of inactivity, your session has timed out and is no longer active...."
I see no exceptions in output window. What am I doing wrong?

well, the problem is the name of the column, ARRIVDATE< - while MS Access allows the "<" inside a column name, Oracle doesn't if you don't be careful. Please see this:
SQL> create table testtab1 (arrivdate varchar2(100));
Table created.
SQL> desc testtab1
Name Null? Type
ARRIVDATE VARCHAR2(100)
SQL> create table testtab2 (arrivdate< varchar2(100));
create table testtab2 (arrivdate< varchar2(100))
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00902: invalid datatype
But this works:
SQL> create table testtab2("ARRIVDATE<" varchar2(100));
Table created.
SQL> desc testtab2
Name Null? Type
ARRIVDATE< VARCHAR2(100)
So your query might work if you put ARRIVDATE< in double quotes:
Sum(DECODE(LOAD1."ARRIVDATE<"+SYSDATE+7,LOADLINE1.QTY,0)/ITEM1.UOM) AS Loadtbl

After running Export from Access query the query empties itself

I'm facing a weird problem in Access 2010. I have several queries that I sometimes export to both Excel and HTML formats, sometimes when I export, the query empties itself. Meaning, the SQL code disappears from the query and I have to rebuild it before I
can use it again.
Does anyone understand how this can happen?

The export is indeed invoked using a MACRO that uses the ExportWithFormatting syntax to export a few queries in a row to XLSX and HTML.

Random results with random access query

when I execute a random access query
(fetchConfig.setResultSetType(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE);
fetchConfig.setFetchDirection(ResultSet.FETCH_UNKNOWN)) and iterate over the
result set twice, the second time the objects are retrieved in a different
order, also when I set the ordering of the objects. This only happens if the
first loop touches the last item. If not, everything works fine. I am using
MS Sql Server, microsoft driver, kodo 3.4

I am using datastore identity. I do implement equals and hashcode in the
super class, not sure whether that is of any impact. The order of the items
look random to me, however it stays constant after the second loop. The same
order is also produced when I re-start the test application. The output
shows the index of the object I am retrieving, the description of the object
(which is also the order in which the items are created) and their order
attribute. The query sorts on the order attribute. As you can see the first
loop is correct. I now and then have the situation where the last item in
the first loop (retrieve 7) results in the first item (item nr 0) being
retrieved. Same behaviour applies for both jtds and microsoft driver.

correctly implementing the equals() and hashCode() method? Failure to do
so may conceivably cause this problem.
Otherwise, can you provide some details about how the results are our of
order? It it exactly reverse or something, or are elements in random
order?

Help needed in changing Access query to Oracle query

I have already posted this question and got some help previously but i have additional query being added to the previous one so thought of seeking some help.here it goes
Am having an access report which comes from a query. the current query behind the report is a consolidated one and comes from quite a few tables . My requirement is to develop a crystal report( which comes with a native oracle db driver) which should look same as the access report. But am unable to use the access query becoz of its format or something. So anyone please throw some light on this. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

I am having some problem in SQL query. I am trying to get total sum of one inventory using the following query it works fine:

Sorry, I don't really understand what you want.
Whenever you have a question, it helps to post:
(1) The version of Oracle (and any other relevant software) you're using
(2) A little sample data (just enough to show what the problem is) from all the relevant tables
(3) The results you want from that data
(4) Your best attempt so far (formatted)
(5) The full error message (if any), including line number
Executable SQL statements (like "CREATE TABLE AS ..." or "INSERT ..." statements) are best for (2).
If you can present your problem using commonly available tables (for example, tables in scott schema, or views in the data dictionary), then you can omit (2).
Formatted tabular output is okay for (3). Type these 6 characters
{code}
(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after the tabular text, to preserve spacing.
What exactly do you mean by "monthly breakup"?
If you want separate figures for each calendar month, Blushadow's suggestion (TRUNC (mt.transaction_date, 'MM')) is what you want.
If you want separate figures for the last 30 days before today, then something like what you posted ("FLOOR ((:target_date - mt.transaction_date) / 30)": the extra FLOOR doesn't help any) should work, so if you ran the query on March 17, 2009, the first "month" would be February 16 through March 17.
In a CASE statement, there's rarely any need to use DECODE. The following is equivalent to the last line of code you posted:

I'm facing a non-sense problem in a query, I hope you could help me.
I have defined a structure in the rows of my query. Inside the structure, I have defined several selections and formulas. Selections are basically account intervals and formulas are additions of some selections.
Some formulas are correct, adding amounts properly but others aren't. Instead of the addition, a * appears.
Even if I copy and paste now one correct formula and show both in the execution, the first one appears correctly and the second one shows a *. How is it possible?

I have followed Mustafa advice in SPRO and now I don't see any *.
But there is a thing I can't understand now. As said before, I created a formula based on selections and it shows correctly the amount and the unit.
Then I have copied the formula and pasted after the first one. Both of them show the same value but only the first one is showing the amount.
What do you think? How is it possible if both have been defined identically? -

balance), you must first convert that value to a text string using the ToText function:

Instead of casting, you could also switch to the "&" concatenation operator which gives the added benefit of avoiding subtle bugs when attempting to concatenate strings of numbers. -

In xMII there is a list of predefined xslt transforms that do something similar to what you are explaining. The 3 that I think may be what you are looking for are
they are under Calculation Transformations and Subtotal Transformation take a look at these and tell me if they are doing what you want to accomplish. In the xMII help file do a search on Inline Transforms or navigate to Advanced Topics -> Inline Transforms -> Predefined Inline Transforms. In this section there are examples of how to use these transforms and apply them in the query templates. If this is not what you are looking for can you explain in a little more detail along with a simple example of how you want this transform to work. Also why do you want to use xslt if you can already accomplish this in BLS?

I have a problem in accessing the node3a's current element. Following is the context structure (which I am getting from backend BAPI).
Node1 is the parent node, it has 3 child nodes, and further Node2c has 3 child node. I need to access current elements of node 3a and display them in a form.

I have written the following code to access but its giving no output, i tried priniting size and i am getting the size as 1 that means there is data.

if atleast i get this one element "Meins", i can put a loop and access all other elemets, but no luck.
i also tried:

I want to know one thing while on loading( or execution of service ) are you sure that values are coming in all node.
if cardinality is 0-n means it can have 0 or n numbers of elements in it. and even if there is one single element is there then you can access it otherwise it will throw null pointer exception. if there is some value in 3b then you can access it by.
wdContext.nodeNode1().nodeNode2c().nodeNode3b().getCurrentElement().getAttributeAsText("Attribute1");
Check it and let us know if any issue persist.
