Problem in adding attributes to an iView

I am facing some problems while working with PCD api.
My requirement is to get an existing iView and add attributes to that. I am using the below code to do this.
My problem is that
1.  I am not able to add attributes using obj.addToEnvironment("test",myAttrs);
2.  Using IPcdContext obj = (IPcdContext)myPcdContext.lookup(iView_ID); when I do a lookup, I was supposed to get an object of type IiView. But getting IPcdContext.
IUser user = null;
try {
     user = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser();
} catch (WDUMException e) {}
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, user);
env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, IPcdAttribute.PERSISTENCY_ASPECT);
InitialContext   iCtx = null;
try {
     iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
      // Get the top-level context
     IPcdContext myPcdContext = (IPcdContext) iCtx.lookup("");
     <b>IPcdContext obj = (IPcdContext)myPcdContext.lookup(iView_ID);</b>
     Attribute attr1 = new BasicAttribute("attribute_created_by_figi1","one");
     attr1.add("two");
     Attribute attr2 = new BasicAttribute("attribute_created_by_figi2","three");
     Attributes myAttrs = new BasicAttributes();
     myAttrs.put(attr1);
     myAttrs.put(attr2);
     <b>obj.addToEnvironment("test",myAttrs);     </b>
} catch (NamingException e) {
     // TODO Auto-generated catch block
     e.printstacktrace();

Hi Figi,
It is best to use the semantic interface. So you need to:
Change the aspect in the environment variable to the semantic aspect
Get an IiView interface
Set the property there, and call the save() method to have the change take effect.
All of the procedures for this is described in:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/6aaf92f5a23672e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
Hope this helps.

  • Facing problem in adding attributes for sales  in organisation model

    hi i am murali
      for my organisation model in sales organisation i want to add division and distribution channel attributes.when i am in ooattrcust
    transaction,i found that they were in invisible maintenance and i am not able to change them.please help me

    Hi,
    Please read:
    Orgmodel-- Attributes
    1. Goto T. Code: SM30
    2. Enter T77OMATTR for Table/View and click Maintain Button.
    3. Now Double click on Attributes. Here create your oun Attribute by copying an existing one / Create a New Entry.
        Here you also have setting like Multi Values, Default Values etc.
    4. After creating New Attribute, double click on Scenarios and select your required scenario then click on Attributes/Scenarios.
        Here you include your newly created Attribute. Here you also have important settings like Inheritance Type, Reg Attr etc.
    Alternatively you use T.Code OOATTRCUST instead of SM30.
    Once this customization is done you can see your attribute in the Org Model Customization(T. Code: PPOMA_CRM).

  • DataLoad-Problem after adding Nav-Attribute to InfoObject

    hi there,
    i added a navigational attribute, which i newly created, to an existing infoobject, which had already data loads.
    i activated the infoobject and modified the transformationrule to fill the new attribute of the infoobject.
    after i activated the transformationrule, i started the infopackage to fill the new attribute.
    after the load has finished, i i started a master-data-changerun.
    but when i let me show the data in the infoobject, i view only the SID of the infoobject. all other attributes are empty.
    i am not using a startroutine in the transformationrule.
    when i debug the transformationrule, i can see all values (SIDs and attributes of the infoobject).
    i tried the RSRV transaction to check the masterdata of the infoobject, but it shows no errors.
    what can i do, to repair the infoobject?
    i'm using BI 7.0.
    regards,
    philipp

    Hi,
    First step is the check the data insde P table ( example /BIC/PXXX which will be there in the in master data and text tab)
    if you find the data for newely added attributes then it works fine.
    or else
    Delete the master data
    programs for individual IinfoObject  master data deletion:
    RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND or RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA_TEXTS
    then delete the transformation and recreate the transformation followed by DTP once again
    activate all atributes individually once again
    load data to the infoobject and check it.
    you should be able to relove the problem

  • Very urgent : Problem with field attributes in Datasource

    Hi
    I am getting a problem with field attributes in the datasource.
    The issue came up after i modified the extract structure-i modified one field and
    added one field to the structure.Now those two fields are not visible in BW.
    When i checked with transaction rsa2, i could find that for those two fields , the
    field attribute is <b>'A'</b> which is <b>'Field in OLTP and BW Hidden by SAP'</b>.
    I tried to modify the field attribute to make it visible.Now the issue is that it is not getting reflected after transport in the Q system.What can be the issue.In the Q system its still the old value 'A' ,which makes the fields invisible.
    Please let me know what can be the issue.
    Regards
    Leon

    Hi,
    did you change this attribute via RSA2?
    you need to change your datasource via postprocessing (RSA6); then transport your DS to your Q source system.
    Replicate your datasources in your BW.
    Finally modifiy your Transfer Structure by editing your TRules ( tab Datasource/Tran structure), move your new fields from the right frame to the left frame)
    Maintain your TRules
    Activate
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

  • Adding attribute to an existing element

    hi all,
    i need to add an attribute to an element present in Document. The code is something like this: -----
    Element root = soapEnvelope.getDocumentElement();
    Element elm = null;
    Node node = null;
    NodeList nodeList = root.getElementsByTagNameNS(WSConstants.+WSSE_NS+,WSConstants.+NONCE_LN+);
    int length = nodeList.getLength();
    if(length == 0) return soapEnvelope;
    for(*int* i=0;i<length ;i++){
    if( (node = nodeList.item(i)) != null && node instanceof Element)
    elm = (Element)node;
    if (elm.hasAttribute(SOAConstants.+ENCODING_TYPE_ATTR+)) return soapEnvelope;
    elm.setAttribute(SOAConstants.+ENCODING_TYPE_ATTR+,SOAConstants.+ENCODING_TYPE_ATTR_VAL_FOR_NONCE+); //setting attribute
    i'm able to set attribute, but the problem is the attribute is coming before the namespace declaration like this
    <wsse:Nonce EncodingType="*http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-soap-message-security-1.0#Base64Binary*" xmlns:wsse="*http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd*">40ZJZhcGSCxc7pk0IfPZ+g==</wsse:Nonce>
    EncodingType is the attribute i added.
    is there some way to overcome this problem and have the attribute after namespace declaration.

    Hi Sunitha,
    you are right - reference means using the existing InfoObjects and its master data without any changes. Template means you can change whatever you want, but you will have to load master data for the new InfoObject.
    If you need to add an attribute that has master data tables with texts and so on I think you will have to create new InfoObject using template approach.
    Best regards,
    Björn

  • Steve's ADF Sample #131 : What if adding attributes in extendsproject ?

    Hi Steve,
    I want to further implement your ADF sample #131 : ADF Web Application with Component Substitution
    On the example there, on ExtendsProject , a new validation is added. and it changes the behaviour of the application in BaseADFWebApp.
    Our requirement is :
    - add new attributes on DeptEx entity in ExtendsProject
    - drag those new attributes into Departments.jspx in BaseADFProject
    ( th ebjective is to reuse the jspx for the DeptEx with the new attributes )
    Is there any any scenario to make this possible ?
    Thank you very much,
    xtanto

    Our requirement is :
    - add new attributes on DeptEx entity in ExtendsProjectThat is possible. No problem.
    You'd also need to extend the view object and add the new entity attributes to the extended view object, too. That is possible. No problem.
    - drag those new attributes into Departments.jspx in BaseADFProject
    ( th ebjective is to reuse the jspx for the DeptEx with the new attributes )That would require having a customization layer for the JSPX pages which is not available in 10.1.3, only in 11g.
    The only way to have a JSPX page the reacts "automatically" to the presence of added attributes in the view object (due to component substitution) would be to design the page to be rendered dynamically based on the attributes in the data collection. Unfortunately, in 10.1.3, we only supply a "Read Only Dynamic Table" component, but not one for editable forms. The latter is supplied in 11g.

  • Problem with adding Sun JSF RI v1.2 as a new library in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1

    Hi,
    I have a problem with adding a latest JSF 1.2 RI from Sun (https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/files/documents/1866/44998/jsf-1_2_03.zip) to JDeveloper as a new library.
    I created a new User library and added into it jsf-impl.jar and jsf-api.jar from JSF 1.2 RI.
    Then I try to create two new JSP Tag libraries based from .tld files.
    When a .tld file is placed in "TLD File:" field there is no information below about Library Version and Required JSP Version. If I check "Execute Tags in JSP Visual Editor" and click "Customize" button - list of tags in "Customize Tag Library" window is empty.
    I have errors when I try to use JSF Tags from this new library in JSP page like :
    "Can't create tag instance: f:view (class: null). Make sure, that the tag class or a library contained this class is available in this application"
    (free translation to English)
    Is this possible to add JSF RI v1.2 as another library in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 ?
    thanks for help
    koli

    Hi,
    This solution is not exactly for Jdeveloper 10.1.3.x I think.
    - "Create a JSF system library." section, point 2. - there is not possible to add library in folder other than User I see, so I added it in User folder.
    - "Register the JSF JSP tag libraries." section, point 5. - in JD 10.1.3 there is no dialog box, I checked checkbox "Show Tag Library in Palette". A new library was added to User folder but there is no new libraries in component Palette.
    Even as I use "Edit tag libraries .." from Component Palette context menu and add manually new tag libraries to selected, there is no libraries in Component Palette after it.
    I feel so problem is with different .tld files format, not with adding libraries method.

  • Error when Refresh Planning after adding attribute V9.2.1

    Has anyone encountered this and what is the solution:
    Added new attribute dimension in planning web and added attribute members. When I try to do incremental or full refresh, receive error message:
    Errors detected (AssocAttrDimension, 1060057) Could not associate attribute with member (attribute,member) Decanatura, Career -2147218881
    Career is the dimension and Decanatura is the attribute added
    Using 9.2.1
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
    please find some findings from planning DBAG which may be useful to resolve your issue:
    You can assign attributes only to sparse dimensions.
    You cannot assign attributes to label-only members.
    After you create attributes and attribute values, you can assign attribute values to each member of the dimension.
    You must assign attribute values to dimension members at the same member level within a dimension.
    You can define attribute values for Entity, user-defined custom dimensions, and Account
    members if the Account dimension is designated as a sparse dimension in all plan types. You
    can then assign attribute values to members of a dimension.
    Attribute values for an attribute must be assigned to the same-level sparse dimension members.
    Assigning an attribute value to another level causes an error during the application refresh.
    hope this helps.

  • JTable sorting - problem when adding elements (complete code inside)

    Im writing this email with reference to a recent posting here but this time with the code example. (I apologize for the duplicated posting this time it will be with the code)
    Problem: when adding more elements to the JTable (sorted) the exception: ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException is thrown.
    Example: If the elements in the table are 10 and then the user requests for 8 the table will produce the correct result. However, if the user will ask for 11 items (>10) the exception will be thrown.
    The program: The program below (compiles and running). A JTable is constructed with 3 items, when you click the button - the return result should be 4 items - this will generate the error, WHY?
    I would highly appreciate your thoughts why this is happening and most importantly how to fix it.
    Thanks a lot

    The table listens to the TableModel for changes. Changing the table by adding/removing
    rows or columns has no affect on its table model. If you make changes to the table model
    the table will be notified by its TableModelListener and change its view. So tell
    MyTableModel about the change of data:

            defaultListModel = new DefaultListModel();

    you need -f, which sends ssh to the background, and -N which does not execute a remote command.
    If you need it to run as a user other than root, then you probably need to utilize su as well.
    it didnt work either. i am putting it in rc.local but doesnt work.

  • Problem removing session attributes

    I have a problem removing session attributes
    I try w/ mysession.removeAttribute("key");
    but it still lives in memory. I've tried setAttribute("key", null) as the API states that will do the same thing, but it doesn't work.
    I can get mysession.invalidate() to work, but I want to keep some of the attributes there, while removing another.
    I get no exceptions and no errors.
    Help.
    Running Tomcat 4
    jre 1.3.1

    Actually,
    response.addHeader("Expires", "-1");should be enough.
    The browser should then contact the Web server for updates to that page via a conditional If-Modified-Since request. You don't want a cache disabling 'overkill', since you'd still want the page to remain in the disk cache and used in appropriate situations without contacting the remote Web server, such as when the BACK and FORWARD buttons are pressed...
    Anyway, try this first, and if it doesn't solve your problem, add the other cache-disabling headers, as outlined in the previous post.
    If you're using JSP, verify also that your page has
    <%@ page session="true"%>

  • Problem with optional attribute caching on a custom tag

    Hello,
    I've created a tag by extending TagSupport. I have one attribute that is optional. I'm having a problem with this attribute since the tag is cached. If the value is not specified in the tag, it is always using the previous value from the past request.
    I understand why this is happening, but I wonder if there is anyway to reset this value besides doing it at the end of the doStartTag or in the doEndTag methods? I simply want it to be an empty string if it is not in the request.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Thats abit overkill in my opinion.Probably yes, but its a cleaner option. In case your doEndTag handles custom exceptions, you would anyhow need to put this code in a finally block, right ?
    public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
    try {
    call some methods that throws other checked exceptions;
    }catch(Exception1 e){
    throw JspException(e);
    }catch(Exception2 e){
    //log and ignore
    }finally{
    //clean up here
    return an int;
    Having said that, different containers implement the spec a bit differently. For example, in our project, we use weblogic and for wl, we put our clean up code in the release() method which according to the spec, needs to be called only before gc. Weblogic implementation is a bit different - its called after doEnd() for every use of the tag.
    This is from jsp spec regarding tag life cycle especially with reuse
    Some setters may be called again before a tag handler is reused. For
    instance, setParent() is called if its reused within the same page but at a dif-ferent
    level, setPageContext() is called if its used in another page, and
    attribute setters are called if the values differ or are expressed as request-time
    attribute values.
    Check the TryCatchFinally interface for additional details related to exception handling and resource management.
    cheers,
    ram.

  • Adding Attributes to Approval Form

    Hi,
    I've customised IDM 8.1 to fire off an approval to IdmManager if a user updates their own attributes. I want to customise the Approval Form displayed to the approver to show only the attributes that have been updated by the user.
    I see the Approval Form has an "approvalAttributes" variable which can be passed in to define which attributes are displayed. I also see that this list can be configured by adding attributes on the "Server Tasks -> Configure Tasks -> Update User Template -> Approvals" tab. What I can't see is where this list of attributes is stored when you add new ones. Does anybody know? If I knew this I hope I could customise the object to push out a dynamically generated list of attributes, rather than a static list.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Solved - they're kept, somewhat unsurprisingly, in the "Update User Template" object. I was confused by the "Template Library Repository" appearing to store a very similar list which gets polled every time the form is loaded, but editing this appears to have no bearing on anything.

  • Problem with adding new field to the mass change screen in FBL5N

    Hi,
    We have a problem with adding the field XREF3 to the mass change screen. We followed steps described in the SAP Note 640908, but the result is that when we try to mass change some documents in FBL5N and enter some values in the mass change screen, a message appears: "Please enter at least one new value" and nothing is changed.
    If you have faced with such a problem, we would be grateful if you give us some tips.

    The problem has been resolved: we didn't activate a code in SE80.
