Problem in BI server generated query

Hi everyone,
I tried to generate a report which contains some case statements and summations involved in it. when i check the session log the BI server is generating a splited query . Instead of generating a single query it is generating 4 seperated queries and trying get the data into temp table and sum up their. But main problem here is i have only 3gb of disk space and it is trying to get 25 million record into it.Its getting out of space and not showing result ending with out of space error and its taking longer time to display that error.

If we observe test query is very simple and easy to back track but in Dev it is appending like sawwith0,sawwith1 etc..looking difficult.
Is there in any configuration to change to generate query like Test(with out SAWWITH0).
NOTE:Any how results are same in both instances.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Are your database settings the same in both of the rpds dev and test?
Check wether you didn't change anything to the default. Open your RDP double click on the Database in the physical layer and go to Feature you can check all the settings there

BI server generating wrong query

Hi,
I have an issues with query generation by report. we have one fact table and 3 dim tables using by query. If I use aggregate functions like max, avg and stddev in column formula, BI server generating wrong query but normal report without any aggregate functions working fine(generation correct query by bi server). fact tables sources>>content tab, level settng to all three dim tables is at detailed level. I'm expecting BI server to rollup the detailed data to calculate min, max and stddev but it's not doing that and it is trying to join so many other unwanted tables in the query and fetching no result.
How would I fix the above problem? thanks for your help

One of the dimension table have joins to other fact tables and query routed through unwanted dim and fact tables. this is happeneing because of aggregate navigation in fact sources, content tab set to detailed level. I'm trying to use aggregate functions...

Can we change/Modify BI server generated Sql query and run to fetch data

My client is saying that there is an option to modify bi server generated sql query to fetch data from source.
question:As a request is made in presentation services, A dynamic sql query is generated and fetches data from source. all this is loggedin Nqlquery log..well can we change/modify the sql query generated and run modified sql query to fetch data from source. ., if so how? if not why?

SSRS - SQL Server Spatial Query

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me.
I'm creating an SSRS report with Map and importing points via SQL Server Spatial query. I have a db table with 8,000 points bu the import only ever brings in the first 2,000 queried (no matter what the filter is). Is there a limitation in SSRS that can be
changed via a configuration setting?

Just to give the whole picture. I had 8,000 points in MapInfo version 10. I imported them to SQL Server 2012 via MapInfo Easy Loader.
The SQL Server spatial points import to SSRS and the Bing overlay map works great (so they import to correct space) but its only a subset of the points that import. I can pick any subset using the WHERE clause but I cannot get all 8,000 points.
I was hoping there was a configuration setting somewhere in SSRS that was causing the problem.

Problems with SQL server 2008 nvarchar type to varchar in oracle.

I did an Heterogeneous Connectivity between SQL server 2008 db and Oracle 11g, so far so good, but when i try to view colum data on RPD (only varchar type) i only see the first character of the string.
One more thing, when i try to see the data on Oracle SQL developer i get some strange characters, like when we have the wrong character encoding on our browser.

The spaces you see between the characters when using the gateway indicate a wrong charset is being used.
1. Which gateway are you using - DG4MSQL or Dg4ODBC?
2. Could you please post the gateway init file and just in case it is DG4ODBC also the odbc.ini file
3. What's the character set of the Oracle database?
4. Looks like you're connected using Putty to a Unix box - what is the Putty NLS setting?
5. What is the NLS setting when starting SQL*Plus and what is the LOCALE setting?
6. Was a NLS_LANG parameter set when the gateway was started? Please change in your gateway init file the HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL to DEBUG, then run again the query and post it to a share.

Error [hyt00] [microsoft][odbc sql server driver] query timeout expired

I have the below network setup:-
1. Its a simple network at my father's office at a small town called Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra).
2. We are using private network range 192.168.1.xxx with two Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2 licensed copies and 15 local Windows 7 clients who are only using Server A.
3. The network is having a TP-Link Braodband Router Connected to internet with the IP 192.168.1.1.
4. Both there Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2 are running separate SQL Server 2005 Express with Advanced Services, you can treat them as Server A (Problematic Server with IP of 192.168.1.2)
and Server B (this is not having any issue with IP of 192.168.1.3).
5. Server A is also being used by 6 Remote users from our Kolkata office using DDNS facility through the NO IP client software which installed separately on both the servers. Kolkata remote users
do not use OR access the Server B.
6. Server B is being used by only 2 Remote users from our Erode office (Under Salem District, Tamilnadu) using DDNS facility through the NO IP client software which installed separately on both
the servers. Erode remote users do not use OR access the Server A.
7. The front end application which running separately on both the servers have been developed in VB by a local vendor at Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra).
8. Both Servers are having the same database structure in terms of design and tables format. Only difference is that both the servers are being used separately.
9. This error OR problem is only related to Server A, where on the clients we get the message "error [hyt00] [microsoft][odbc sql server driver] query timeout expired" every now and then.
10. We have to frequently reboot the server whenever we get this message on the client machines. May be after rebooting every thing works perfectly for 2 hours / 5 Hours / may be one full day but
the the error will come back for sure.
11. Current Database back up size on Server A is around 35 GB and take around 1 hour 15 minutes daily to take the back up.
12. Current Database back up size on Server B is around 3 GB and take around 5 to 10 minutes daily to take the back up.
13. One thing I have noticed is that when ever we reboot Server A, for some time sqlsrvr.exe file will show memory usage of 200 to 300 MBs but it will start using slowly, what i understand is that
this is the way SQL Server works.
14. Both the Servers are also running Quick heal Antivirus Server Edition separate licensed copies also.
15. Server B is also running Tally ERP 9 Licenses copy which is being used locally by 15 users of Ichalkaranji (District - Kolhapur, Maharashtra) same users
Can any one help to resolve this issue. Any help will be highly appreciated.

The error message "query timeout expired" occurs, because by default many APIs, including ODBC only waits for 30 seconds for SQL Server to send any output. If no data has been seen for this period of time, they tell SQL Server to cancel execution
and return this error to the caller.
This timeout could be seen as a token that the query is taking too long time to execute and this needs to be fixed. But it can also be a pain in the rear parts, if you are content with a report taking five minutes, because you only run it once a day.
The simplest way to get rid of the error is to set the timeout to zero, which means "wait forever". This is something your vendor would have to do. This may, however, not resolve the problem, as the users may just find that the application is hanging.
To wit, there are two reasons why the query takes more than 30 seconds to complete. One is that there is simply that much work to do. This can be reduced by adding indexes or by doing other tuning, if the execution time is not acceptable. The other possibility
is blocking. That is, there is a process blocking this query from completing. This is much more likely to require attention.
It is not clear to me, whether the vendor has developed the database part as well. In this case, you should probably call the vendor's support desk to have them to sort this out.
Finally, I am little puzzled. You say that you are using Express Edition, but one of the databases is 35 GB in size. 35 GB is far above the limit for Express Edition.

Execute generated query report in RSRT

Hello experts,
I tried to execute the generated report for a query in transaction RSRT and it failed ("query not found on server" was the error). Now my question is more general - what is this report for? Is it just a "background program" for a query and should not/cannot be executed in SE38? Can you execute your generated query programs in SE38?

Problem accessing Sql server Procedure from Crystal with JDBC driver

I have some Crystal reports using SQL Server procedures, most of them are working very well; however, I have 2 that have problems accessing sql server procedures. These reports are working using OLE DB connection without problem, but when I try to relocate the connection to JDBC Crystal generates an error like that the procedure not return records.
The procedure is working with other products including OLE DB connections from crystal.
What can I do?

I have discovered that the procedures create and work temporary tables. In other cases when is working ok, the procedures have not working temporary tables.

Javascript API and server-generated URLs

I'm creating a Shopify site for a client and part of the site is a complex Adobe Edge Animate animation. Shopify uses server-generated paths to files. My animation uses images and audio.
It looks like the animation sets a base path set in the Publish settings then it sets everything itself in the Javascript runtime and associated files. With Shopify, I end up with image URLs that are like this one: "cdn//path//image.gif?234324". I don't have a absolute path with an absolute file name.
Does anyone know of a way I can put these specific unique server-generated paths to the files needed for my animation in the files for my animation? Basically, can I customize and control the entire URL to all the files needed for my animation?
I see how I can put any URL for assets in the edge.js file. My bigger problem, I think, is being able to customize the URLs for the edge.js and edgeActions.js files.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd really, really appreciate it!

I am getting close on this! I'm hoping someone can help me figure out the last step.
I am using an iframe and sandbox method to load the swf video player like this:
<iframe id="playerFrame" src="player.html" sandboxRoot="http://localhost/air/" documentRoot="app:/"></iframe>
So now the JavaScript API for the player actually works in player.html. The BIG problem is that the videos are downloaded to the app-storage directory. Well, based on AIR security, the iframe (non-application sandbox) content cannot access the application storage directory. So now only videos that are in the app:/ location will load. Unfortunately, this application downloads video from a central server and places them in the application storage directory. Security also will not allow me to download to the app directory. So I am in an endless circle!
I can't use the API if I am in the application sandbox because there is no domain (sandboxRoot) available.
The API works in the non-application sandbox, but I can't access the downloadable content.
What am I missing here? Surely, people have needed to interact with a SWF file using JavaScript and load dynamic content at the same time.

Problem downloading WebLogic Server 8

I am having problems downloadingl the eval copy of Weblogic server 8. The'Specify
Download Options' page in the Weblogic installer doesnt request proxy server authentication
information (userid, password). Is there a way to work around this issue and successfully
download the software.

about particular problems in the newsgroup or mailing list that is most
appropriate to the problem. If people who read this newsgroup only know about
the webserver, then they won't have any idea how to help you with installation
problems with WebLogic server, which this clearly is (the "webserver" is not
"WebLogic Server", but only part of the entire package).
Have you made an attempt to contact BEA support? It seems likely that your zip
file is corrupt.

I use the following instruction: ./filename.bin and I see the following message:
Illegal instruction (memory dumped)
(in french: instruction incorrecte (vidage memoire))
A core file is generated but it doesn't help resolving this problem. It seems
to be talking about unzip, as I found things like this message in this file:

unzipsfx: cannot find myself! [%s]
error [%s]: missing %ld bytes in zipfile

I have the following message:

Accessing Server Generated Files

How can I allow our users to access Server Generated Excel spreadsheets that are
not part of the ear/war. For example, the excel spreadsheets are dumped into
the directory
\bea\user_projects\WebDevelopment and I want to create an html link that accesses
the spreadsheets in that directory without the files being archived in the ear/war
file.

"The Outlook 2010 .prf file format has changed but Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, Office Outlook 2003, and Outlook 2002 versions of the file will work with Outlook 2010."
I was using Office2010 setup to generate a prf file and import it on Outlook2007 so maybe that's the problem.
I'll try generating a prf using Office2007 setup and see how it goes!

Commit Server Generates 0 byte Metadata files

Hi Experts,
We are using Oracle document capture as the capture s/w to push data to Oracle Web Center Content Imaging.
We have identified that commit server generates 0 byte metadata files in the commit folder. It did not happened earlier.
Our MDS password has expired and last week and now it has settled and reset the password. As we have figured above issue is happening after that.
Any suggestions ???

I need to print reports in PDF.
What I did:
1 I installed Apache Tomcat 6.0.14
2 I installed Cocoon 2.1.10
All works fine! http://localhost:8080/Cocoon opened OK
3 I copied fop_post to \apache-tomcat-6.0.14\webapps\cocoon\ , now I have apache-tomcat-6.0.14\webapps\cocoon\fop_post\sitemap.xmap
4 In apex I choose : Oracle BI Publiser - Standart Support
print server host address 192.168.1.112
print server port 8080
print server script \cocoon\fop_post\
Now I make simple report consists from 1 column from a simple table like emp table, and choose.
Output format - PDF
Report Layout - Default Report Layout
Apex is English.
I read that can be problem if I'll write use point in (example) 0.5 and everywhere I used 1.
When I run the programm and click print button I have error message : Acrobat could not open 'a[1].pdf' because is either not a supported file type or because
the file has been damage ......
I saved this file and opened with text editor but there was nothing and size of this file is 0 kb.
PLEASE, explain me where is problem and how to solve it?

What assembly is the class Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Query.Pipeline.Processing.OpenSearchReaderProducer in?

Hi All,
I work with Result Source in SP 2013 which is configured to use OpenSearch protocol. When I create KeywordQuery and execute the query with SearchExecutor the below error is thrown and log at ULS
Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Query.Pipeline.Processing.OpenSearchReaderProducer : Unable to complete OpenSearch communication. System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Query.Pipeline.Processing.OpenSearchReaderProducer.ReadAccountAuthCredentials(AuthenticationInformation
authInfo, String& username, String& password)
This code does work on certain farm setting, but for a particular setting like
+ Search Admin, Crawler, Content Processing, Analytics Processing is on 1 server
+ Query Processing, Index Partition is on 1 server
I've tried to find the assembly which has class OpenSearchReaderProducer to decompile and see what could causing null exception but I cannot find that assembly, does anyone know where it is or could suggest a better solution for above issue?

Hi Steven,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you tried to use Result Source in SharePoint 2013.
You can set it to anonymous search, then check whether it works.
