Problem in Installation of oracle 11i
Hi,
I'm trying to install oracle 11i apps in windows server. I have done all prerequsite steps before starting intallation.
In front end screen its saying
compled unziping 81 of 114 at (71%)
at one particular point the installation is not proceeding and its not writing any information in logs .
Please let me know anyone has faced smiliar problem and how you rectified it.

Java Plug-in problems following installation of Oracle 9i
I have been experiencing repeatable problems with the Sun Java Plug-in following installation of Oracle 9i on our servers. Our installation of the Sun JDK 1.3.1_04 or higher seems to conflict with the Oracle installation. Following the install, navigating to any web page that includes an applet reference results in a plug-in error stating that it cannot locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in\1.3.1_01. The key does exist however for the installed version of the plug-in. ie [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in\1.3.1_07]. My only workaround to fix this is to add a new registry key 1.3.1_01 that contains the contents of the registry key for the installed plug-in (for example 1.3.1_07).
The Oracle installation only inlcludes the JRE, which AFAIK isn't referenced outside the ORACLE_HOME directory. The internal JVM couldn't be causing the conflict either. Might be an installer bug of some sort, but not one I have heard of.

Problem in installation of Oracle 10g database on RHEL 6
I am facing the problem when I am trying to install Oracle 10g database on Red Hat 6. When ./runinstaller is run, the message seems to be if I remember correctly is like ‘……………bad ELF interpreter’. But, the same source seems to be installing correctly in Red Hat 5.
Please, help in solving the doubt.

Problem in installation of Oracle 9i in windows xp
hi everybody
I've encountered an error while installing Oracle 9i. At the end of installation process when it wants to configure "Database Configuration Assistant" it passes the two first steps :
"Copying database files"
"Initializing database"
but it fails through the step of "Creating and starting Oracle instance" at the progress of 81% and it shows an error dialog with no comment and no hint (just an empty window is shown).

Problem of Installation of Oracle Forms & Reports Release 6i in Win XP Pro
I can install Oracle Forms and Reports Release 6i in a P4 WinXP machine by using different Oracle Home. But the Net8 Easy Config cannot be run. This can be solved by editing the file TNSNAMES.ORA manually to configurate the connection. After that, the forms is workable but when I print the report, the report background engine show the error for printing.
I am still asking for whether any patch files or update can be downloaded to fix the installation problem of Oracle Forms and Report 6i in WinXP Pro.I don't have the 651, but the 865. The 865 came with a Mega disc and required installing the Intel drivers from the disc. Since the 865 is driven primarly by USB, windows would attempt to assign a driver to motherboard and devices, but would inevitably be wrong. Only by installing the Intel drivers were things found properly.
Is there any chance there are such drivers with the 651 as well? -
Problems with installation of Oracle Database 11g, Enterprise edition
I am having trouble with the whole DHCP setting on my windows vista business OS.
I went throught the steps to install a loopback adapter which is supposed to be a solution for DHCP-enabled computers. When I check to see if I have a loopback adapter, it is showing that it is the "local area connection 2."
But at some point during the installation, it says that I need to make the loopback adapter the primary network setting. Is this what is preventing a successful installation? I went through the installation process to the end despite this error message and it seemed to install ok. I created a database using the Database Config Manager. Now I am having trouble accessing this database. Is this related to the error message I described above?
I created a username and password at the database creation page.
When I go into command prompt I type in "sql plus" and then my username and password.
But it says "ORACLE not available."
Any help would be much appreciated.Don't bother with a loopback adapter unless you are using a laptop that needs Oracle to work whether connected or unconnected to the business network. Much simpler to just arrange for DHCP to assign you a fixed IP address (a lease reservation).
It's the change of IP address which trips Oracle up, not the existence of DHCP. So if you can make sure your IP address will be the same, no matter how you acquire it, that's all you have to do.
Installing a loopback adapter which isn't the primary interface at the point you install Oracle will mean your installation will get very confused as to whether to address things via the 127... address or the "normal" IP address. And yes, at that point, you'll not be able to connect to instances, or run listeners or do all sorts of other things reliably.
If it were me, I'd uninstall the mess you probably now have as far as Oracle goes, install something like VirtualBox (free) or VMware Workstation (costs) and enjoy your Oracle experience inside the confines of a virtual machine whose networking setup you can configure and control to your heart's content, without it screwing up your real machine's ability to connect to your work's network when it needs to. -

When i am installing Oracle WebDB, in the part when insert the SYS user password and TNS names Alias; i introduce for example: Sys password: bird and TNS names alias: webdb, but when clic OK, the program say that the SYS user password or TNS names alias is incorrect, but both sys and tns names is correct(in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin, i define my TNS names alias called webdb)

Problem with installation of Oracle Grid Infrastructure failed on Oracle Linux 6.4 x86_64
Hello!
I try install Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.1. OS - OEL 6.4 x86_64
But running script "/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/root.sh" failed:

I am Nilesh ,trying to install Oracle UCM on Windows Server 2003.
For this I used MS SQL Server 2005 as Database & IIS as Web server. This is giving Error of Connection of UCM & Database.
Can you please guide me in installing UCM ?.
I am thinking to use Oracle 10g as database.If you have answer using Oracle 10g then also reply me.

I m doing installation of oracle 11i on Red Hat Linux .
Installation was successfull but when i started the appln i got the error as unable to start the discover gatekeeper process.
I heard that after applying patch,resolves the below issue.So pls help by sending Patch 3170128 , i heard this patch solves the ( addisctl.sh start) problem.

PDF documents doesn´t open in browser!
When i enter to a page with pdf content it don´t shows on the browser instead it downloads to the desktop! i need to fix it! any help?
