Problem in saving oracle report

Hi,
I am into creating a matrix report.I am able to run it successfuly.But i am unable to save the file once after the data model hasd been defined.But i am able to run it without saving it.When i try tosave it,it is showing error like rwbuilder.exe has created an error log and you need to restart the program.So i loose everything i have done till then.
Can anyone of you kindly help me out?

Which version of Builder are you using 10.1.2? In 9.0.4 I have created lots of Matrix Reports for some customer, and I never had that issue. In 10.1.2 I also can successfully create and save Matrix Reports.
Lets try some tricks.
1. Before you save it, try Compile All
2. Try a different format. Save it as jsp and/or as rdf
3. Save the Report just before you start the Matrix wizard
4. Save it to another location (another disk) and check that there're lots of free space

Saving Oracle report to Database

I want to generate report on report but for that, I need to install Oracle report tables to store the report definition.
Can anybody tell me where to get script to create those tables. I am using Report 6i on DBMS 8i

No, I heard that the report RDF files can be saved in Database tables instead of file system. But When I try to save them in database it give an error an tells me to install tables in the database for storing the report definition. I want to know what are those tables and where can I get the script to create those tables.

PDF reports generation problem from single oracle reports in 10G

Hi All,
i am generating 4 PDF reports from one Oracle reports in 10 G.
i used RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built in 4 times with some different parameter list at a single time.
some time it generates but some time it generate 2 or 3 out of 4.
Can you anyone help me on this issue.

Problem is saving crystal reports to SAP BI server

Hi,
we have installed the crystal report 2008 and the SAP add-on on the desktop.
we have designed a formatted report in crystal report designer using an existing BW report that was created using Bex query designer. After this its askign for the BW role to save. Which BW role we need to give?
We have not published the report to crystal enterprise server, since the connection to same is not in place.
We would like to know how to publish this report in Enterprise portal ?
Can we bypass publishing the report to crystal enterprise server and publish the report on browser or through EP ?

There are some software packages to convert from CR to RS, but none work 100% AFAIK, and will require manual tuning.
Seems like a big hassle and learning curve just to get reports published via another method - I know I'd put up huge resistance if they tried to take my CR away from me!

Problem printing TAB character in Oracle Report Concurrent

Hi All!!
I have a problema with my Oracle Report Concurrent. I made a simple example:
DATA MODEL: select '@' || fnd_const.tab || '@' from dual;
Then i did a layout for this report with this field.
The problem is that when i do a "View Output" from the Requests Form the TAB character does not being showing and it's being replaced with spaces.
What could be the problem ??
The system is Oracle E-Businnes Suite 11i, Oracle Report Builder 6.0.8.27l. OS = SunOS

What is the value of "fnd_const.tab"? Does it contain any special characters?
Is the issue with viewing only, or with printing only or with both?
What if you download the concurrent request output file from the server, can you see the value in the file?
What is you print the concurrent request output file from the server using lp command, can you see the value in the print out?

Problem in viewing htmlcss report in the arabic encoding

Hi all
I use Oracle Report Service 9i release 2 with NLS_LANG=ARABIC_UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.AR8MSWIN1256
AND I want to generate HTMLCSS reports.
When I ran report through web I received a html file with encoding Western European (ISO) showing arabic character as garbage.
On the other hand, When I viewed the source of displayed html I found out that the charset in the html header was windows-1256(according to my nls_lang, I think).
I saved the source as a html and I realized that it works correctly.By the way ,I found out that html in the report cache directory works correctly too.
In both situation, when I view the html, I see them in arabic(windows) encoding but when I use report server it delivers html in Western European (ISO) encoding. Why?
Could anybody help me ?

For Persian Language show wrong (generated by Oracle Report Server)

When Oracle Report Server (10.1.2) Generate PDF output show persian characters wrong.
persian language(Use in Iran , Azarbayjan , Tajikestan ,... ) has 4 characters more than Arabic (cp1256) . this 4 characters is (پ ,ژ,گ,ج) .
when come (this characters ) in duration word appear a space between word.
for example word is پشتو But show in PDF پ شتو .
in HTML format we don't has this problem only accrue in PDF output .
This Persian characters :

then now i dont know this problem related to Oracle report server or Acrobat Reader viewer ?
when we copy پ شتو of Arcobat reader and paste to windows notepad show correctly (پشتو ).
i think this is relare to /Encoding /WinAnsiEncoding insite pdf file becouse :
Windows code page 1252(Arabic encoding) but Persian is 1256 , often called the “Windows ANSI”
encoding. This is the standard Windows encoding for Latin text in
western European languages.
Please help me how i can solve this problem ASAP.

Printing Oracle Report.

I have a problem printing an Oracle report on a dot matrix
printer.
I have the report set to print in character mode
with the width and height of the report set to 132,31
respectivley and the width and height of paper
set to 7.25,11 each.
The problem is:
when I print my report it still prints on a whole A4 page.
isn't it supposed to stop printing somewhere on half of the A4?

Hi Prabodh,
I have used Debug mode and I see 2 debug entries added.
The first is just displaying all the page defaults - (I think the page gets reloaded when you select debug from the developer menu)
The second is the SUBMIT request and it shows the initial value of the hidden item (ie null) and then where I changed its value (ie Y).
The problem is, it does not list an entry for the page when it returns from the Report Status page, so I have no way of knowing if anything is
changing its value. I even changed code to set the item to N instead of null and then to Y on submit. But when I return from the Status page
the value remains at N, even though if I check the Session State values it will say Y. The only conclusion I can come to is that it is using the
cached values and effectively just displaying the values set before I submit the page.
I have been playing around with iFrames and it seems to work the way I want.
I created a new Page (5), then a HTML region. Within the HTML region i have the following code

</table>I also create a button (Return) + branch and on submit will return to page 1.
From page 1, instead of branching to a URL, I now branch to page 5. This loads the Report Status page into my iFrame and indicates that it was
successful, but now instead of using the OK button within the status page I use the Return button that is part of the Apex application.
This way I no longer need the javascript or hidden items to try refresh the page , it will be done automagically once the return button is pressed.
I know it may not look great but it is the only solution I can get to work at the moment.

Oracle reports...Most urgent clarification wanted

I am prasanth from india.I am a student.I am developing a simple project by using form builder and report builder. Actually,i have a problem in designing oracle report. Application name is 'voucher entry" now my output need is " if there are 100 voucher(for example), all the vouchers will have one field called "expenditure". Now i inserted all 100 records by using form builder. Now i want to print 5 records per page and i want sum of expenditure in all pages in such a way that first page total must be carrieforward to next page and now second page total i.e sum should be first page carrieforwarded amount + expenditure columns of second page and so...on. That is Sum should be printed in brought forward and carrie forward manner. If i tried sum built in function it is totalling the "Expenditure" coloumn at report end only. That is at last page..
please provide solution for above problem as soon as possible.

To get the running summary, simply create a summary that resets at report and a format trigger so that it only show the summary column on the fifth record.
If you want to print the sum from the previous page you can use a format trigger against the summary column field and store the value in a PL/SQL package variable. Then use another format trigger against the carry over field and the srw.set_field_numb() to update the field with the stored value.

Report printing problem in Oracle Report 10g

Hi group,
I have one report which I am callinng from form. Out put is comming directly in PDF format, While taking printout on EPSON Printer allignment is not comming properly.
But If i convert in to text format and print from MS-DOS prompt on same printer it is comming properly.
Now want to print same in report builder directly in first way. whole environment is on Oracle AS and server is LINUX and client machine is windows

Problem calling XML Report Publisher from Oracle Reports

Hi,
I'm facing a problem in calling XML Report Publisher from Oracle Reports.
Basically, I'm trying to customise Dunning Letter program. The program which is submitted calls another program. I have customised the second program and added a call to a stored procedure which in turn calls XML Report Publisher.I have created a template and attached it to the second program as well.
The procedure code is as follows.

Now, there are two problems I'm facing...
1. when the second program('Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate') gets called it executes this procedure ... logically the 'Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate' should get called twice ... second time from the procedure. Its getting called multiple times .. as many as 15 - 20 times.
2. The Xml Report Publisher program ultimately gets called but its erroring out with the following error:

I have checked from database that the XDO_LOBS/ XDO_TEMPLATES_B table has corresponding registration data.
I don't know what's creating the problem.
If anyone has customised the Dunning Letter program before or having any idea about this problem, please help me out ..

Problems about deploying Oracle web application (Forms, Reports)

I am going to deploy Oracle web applications (Forms and Reports) and plan to use the same server machine for both Application web server and Database server.
1. How can I enable SSL (for data encryption) on Application web server for Oracle Forms ?
2. Since both Application web server and Database server will use the same machine, do I still need Oracle Advanced Security for data transmission between Application web server and Database server if data encryption for transmission is required ?
3. Can I user Oracle Forms to call Oracle Report on web as I did in Client/Server in the past ?
Experts like you may have come across such problems. Would you please give me some opinions/ideas ?

Oracle report problem-Passing a column value from a query block to another

Hi I am facing a problem in oracle reports.
I have 3 query blocks say Q1,Q2 and Q3.
From Q1 I get a tblkey coulmn and for each value of tblkey I need to pass it on to Q2 which gives me a status and now finally Q3 will take tblkey and status to give me final output.
Can somebody please tell me how I can do it?

Depending on your report requirement, you may do a join of Q1, Q2, and Q3; or keep all Qs and for Q3 use subqueries ...
Select ... from ... where tblkey, status in (
select tblkey, status from ... where tblkey in (
select tblkey from .... where .... ) )
