Problem in search  example on MYSQL and ORacle

Hi
I have a sample application built on mysql 5.0 and ADF BC jdev 10.1.3.2. All the functionalities are working fine upto the expections. But the only problem is date format masking. When i run on mysql 5.0 date format is YYYY-MM-dd . Records can be searched when connected to mysql.
When i switch the application to oracle DB it results into
AND ( ( (CsRegn.CR_REGN_DT = '2008-05-05') ) )
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
how to overcome this sort of problem
regards
Amit

  • Problem with Linus Ubuntu 7.04 and Oracle-Xe debian package

    Hi all,
    Installed Oracle 10g XE on my Ubuntu 7.04 using universal Debian Package : oracle-xe-universal_10.2.0.1-1.0_i386.deb. No problem during the installation . After finished the installation, I configured the database to use port 6000 and its password (Listener port set to default).
    But when I tried to access the database home page using "http://127.0.0.1:6000/apex", it cannot be accessed. Then I tried to verify my database server using /etc/init.d/oracle-xe status and here's the output:(before it, I make user the database was realy online by typing /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start)

    Hi,
    You don't say if your Redhat Linux is 32-bit or 64-bit because 10.2 HSODBC was never ported to Linux 64-bit.
    Also, 10.2 HSODBC is now desupported and has been replaced by the 11g Database Gateway for ODBC (Dg4ODBC) so you should install and use that so you are on a fully supported version. The following notes in My Oracle Support have further information -
    Note.466228.1 How to Setup DG4ODBC on Linux x86 32bit
    Note.561033.1 How to Setup DG4ODBC on 64bit Unix OS (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX)
    Note.1083703.1 Master Note for Oracle Gateway Products
    If you are Linux 32-bit and want to continue with the HSODBC setup then please review this note -
    Note.264567.1 How To Setup HSODBC on Linux
    and make sure you have the setup correct.
    For example, in the listener.ora entry you should have an entry for the ENV variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to make sure the process spawned by the listener picks up the correct libraries -
    (ENVS=LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib:<path to odbc_driver_directory>/lib)
    such as -
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = hsodbc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = /home/oracle/server/10.2.0/)
    (PROGRAM = hsodbc)
    (ENVS=LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/oracle/server/10.2.0/lib:/home/odbc/dd/lib)
    You need to stop and start the listener after making any changes.
    If you still have problems then send the -
    - odbc.ini
    - odbcinst.ini - if being used
    - full name and version of the ODBC driver being used
    - full version of MySQL being accessed
    - modified listener.ora

    Hi there,
    I had the same issue last friday.
    It's probably because you are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 instead of 10.1.3.0 or 10.1.3.1 for which the example is made.
    I haven't been able to fix this yet, other then by commenting out the this part of the css.

  • Problem with character set with servlets and Oracle 9i AS

    I am deploying a servlet with Jserv on a Sun machine.
    My servlet is working but some special characters in text fields like "i", "h", "`" (French language) are replaced by "?" when refreshing the HTML pages.
    Is that a Jserv or Oracle 9i AS settings problem or machine settings problem ?
    Thanks for you help
    Lilian

    The solution to this problem is described in MetaLink note #211920.1. But this note is published with LIMITED access as it involves using a hidden parameter.
    You can get access to the note through Oracle Support only.
    The problem itself is solved generically, if the source database is at least 10.1.0.3 and the target database is 10.2

  • Problem with Date - Text File Source and Oracle Target

    Hi All,
    I have a source data (text file) with date column in the format of 'MM/DD/YYYY'. My target is oracle. I am using the LKM FILE TO SQL and IKM SQL Control Append. When i execute this interface, i am getting an error as
    7000 : null : com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.b.i
    com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.b.i
    at com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.b.f.getColumnClassName(f.java)
    at the Load Data step.
    How to load date columns from text file to oracle tables? Please help me in resolving this...
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ram Mohan T

    The worst solution is to define for your text file the date as a string and then to rebuild your date type in Oracle.
    something like
    convert(Substr(myfield,4,2)||Substr(myfield,1,2)||Substr(myfield,7,4) ,'MMDDYYYY')
    this is maybe the worst solution but it should work.

  • Problem with the examples of Transmitting and Receiving Custom RTP Payloads

    I have tried the examples of this web:
    http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/CustomPayload.html
    Transmitting and Receiving Custom RTP Payloads
    I run the examples all right.
    But I want to transmit the sound using my own format, so i want to change the file PcmPacketizer.java
    and PcmDepacketizer.java
    I think the sound data is in the byte[] inData ---- {byte[] inData = (byte[])inBuf.getData();}
    so i change the data with my own function, so the inData have the diffrent length:
    then i transmit the data with the packet header
    public synchronized int process(Buffer inBuf, Buffer outBuf) {
    int inLength = inBuf.getLength();
    byte[] inData = (enbase((byte[])inBuf.getData()));
    byte[] outData = (byte[])outBuf.getData();
         if (outData == null || outData.length < PACKET_SIZE) {
         outData = new byte[PACKET_SIZE];
         outBuf.setData(outData);
         // Generate the packet header.
         int rate = (int)inFormat.getSampleRate();
         int size = (int)inFormat.getSampleSizeInBits();
         int channels = (int)inFormat.getChannels();
         outData[0] = 0;     // filler
         outData[1] = (byte)((rate >> 16) & 0xff);
         outData[2] = (byte)((rate >> 8) & 0xff);
         outData[3] = (byte)(rate & 0xff);
         outData[4] = (byte)inFormat.getSampleSizeInBits();
         outData[5] = (byte)inFormat.getChannels();
         outData[6] = (byte)inFormat.getEndian();
         outData[7] = (byte)inFormat.getSigned();
         int frameSize = inFormat.getSampleSizeInBits() * inFormat.getChannels();
         // Recompute the output format if the input format has changed.
         // The crucial info is the frame rate and size. These are used
         // to compute the actual rate the data being sent.
         if (rate != (int)outFormat.getFrameRate() ||
         frameSize != outFormat.getFrameSizeInBits()) {
              outFormat = new AudioFormat(CUSTOM_PCM,
                        AudioFormat.NOT_SPECIFIED, // rate

                   int copyFromHistory = Math.min(historyLength, DATA_SIZE);
                   System.arraycopy(history, 0, outData, HDR_SIZE , copyFromHistory);
    int remainingBytes = DATA_SIZE - copyFromHistory;
    System.arraycopy(inData, inBuf.getOffset(),
                   outData, copyFromHistory + HDR_SIZE, remainingBytes);
    historyLength -= copyFromHistory;
    inBuf.setOffset( inBuf.getOffset() + remainingBytes);
    inBuf.setLength( inLength - remainingBytes);
         outBuf.setFormat(outFormat);
         outBuf.setLength(PACKET_SIZE);

    return INPUT_BUFFER_NOT_CONSUMED ;

    System.arraycopy(inData, inBuf.getOffset(),
                   history, historyLength,inLength) ;
    historyLength += inLength;
    return OUTPUT_BUFFER_NOT_FILLED ;
    I think I change the data use my own function debase(), so i should decode the data in the file:PcmDepacketizer.java
    but int PcmDepacketizer.java the example is so simple that i don't know how to find and change the data.
    there is only a few lines here:
    Object outData = outBuf.getData();
         outBuf.setData(inBuf.getData());
         inBuf.setData(outData);
         outBuf.setLength(inBuf.getLength() - HDR_SIZE);
         outBuf.setOffset(inBuf.getOffset() + HDR_SIZE);
         System.out.println("the outBuf length is "+inBuf.getLength());
    I write a function : public static byte [] debase(byte[] str)
    but i don't know where can i use it.
    please tell me what should i do or where is wrong about my thought.

    the function in PcmPackettizer.java is
    public static byte[] enbase(byte [] b) {
         ByteArrayOutputStream os = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
         //byte[] oo = new byte[(b.length + 2) / 3*4];
         //for (int i = 0; i < (b.length + 2) / 3; i++) {
         for (int i = 0; i < (b.length + 2) / 3; i++) {
              short [] s = new short[3];
              short [] t = new short[4];
              for (int j = 0; j < 3; j++) {
                   if ((i * 3 + j) < b.length)
                        s[j] = (short) (b[i*3+j] & 0xFF);
                   else
                        s[j] = -1;
              t[0] = (short) (s[0] >> 2);
              if (s[1] == -1)
                   t[1] = (short) (((s[0] & 0x3) << 4));
              else
                   t[1] = (short) (((s[0] & 0x3) << 4) + (s[1] >> 4));
              if (s[1] == -1)
                   t[2] = t[3] = 64;
              else if (s[2] == -1) {
                   t[2] = (short) (((s[1] & 0xF) << 2));
                   t[3] = 64;
              else {
                   t[2] = (short) (((s[1] & 0xF) << 2) + (s[2] >> 6));
                   t[3] = (short) (s[2] & 0x3F);
              for (int j = 0; j < 4; j++)
                   os.write(t[j]);
                   //os.write(t[j],(3*i+j),1);
                   //os.write(Base64.charAt(t[j]));
         //return new String(os.toByteArray());
         return os.toByteArray();
    just like the base64 function

  • "Default " problem while migrating from mysql to oracle.

    I'm migrating from mysql3.23 to oracle9i via the OMWB tool.While migrating i'm getting an error message "Failed to create default for the table <table>:ora00907 missing right parenthesis".This error is due to the difference in the syntax used for the keyword "default" in mysql and oracle.In mysql we have to give after the Not Null option whereas in oracle we have to give before Not Null.
    The problem is i'm migrating via the OWMB tool.Is is possible to handle this error with the help of tool itself.
    Thanks
    Jai.M

    Jai, I'm having Frank have a look at this for you to see if we can replicate it ans help solve this issue for you. are there any issues logged on the mysql site regarding saving blobs as file?
    thanks

  • Performance with MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox

    Hi!
    I'm having quite some problems with the performance of MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox. However, I'm very happy with the ease of using database connectivity toolbox. The background is:
    I have 61 variables (ints and floats) which I would like to save in the MySQL-database. This is no problem, however, the loop time increases from 8ms to 50ms when using the database. I have concluded that it has to do with the DB Tools Insert Data.vi and I think that I have some kind of performance issue with this VI. The CPU never reach more the 15% of its maximum performance. I use a default setup and connect through ODBC.
    My questions are:
    1. I would like to save 61 variables each 8-10ms, is this impossible using this solution?
    2. Is there any way of increasing the performance of the DB Tools Insert Data.vi or use any other VI?
    3. Is there any way of adjusting the MySQL setup to achieve better performance?
    Thank you very much for your time.
    Regards,
    Mattias

    First of all, thank you very much for your time. All of you have been really good support to me.
    >> Is your database on a different computer?  Does your loop execute 61 times?
    Database is on the same computer as the MySQL server.
    The loop saves 61 values at once to the database, in one SQL-statement.
    I have now added the front panel and block diagram for my test-VI. I have implemented the queue system and separate loops for producer and consumer. However, since the queue is building up faster then the consumer loop consumes values, the queue is building up quite fast and the disc starts working.
    The test database table that I add data to is created by a simple:
    create table test(aa int, bb char(15));
    ...I'm sure that this can be improved in some way.
    I always open and close the connection to the database "outside the loop". However, it still takes some 40-50 ms to save the data to the database table - so, unfortunatly no progress to far. I currently just want to save the data.
    Any more advise will be gratefully accepted.
    Regards,
    Mattias

  • Migrating from MySQL to Oracle 11g

    can u tell me the steps to migrating database from MySQL to Oracle using SQL Developer?
    I have installed Oracle 11g(11.1.0.6.0) in server and SQl Developer in my local system.
    I connected to MySQL and Oracle in SQL Developer and tried to MIgrate everything in MySQL to Oracle using Quick Migrate option.
    it took one and half day but didn't work at last...
    is there any pre tasks that i need to do before migrating to oracle from MySQL?
    and also when i export the MySQL data to Oracle using SQL Developer,it is giving data type mismatch errors like (date, boolean etc...).
    please give a reply what i need to do and any refferences also very much appreciated.

    hi Turloch ,
    I followed the steps mentioned above.
    When I right click my MySQL server db Connection and click "Capture MySQL server", it just shows a dialog with "Close" enabled.
    after clicking the close button, it gives following error messages.
    oracle.dbtools.metadata.persistence.PersistableObject.doInsert(PersistableObject.java:238)
    the same error is coming no of times.
    Kindly help me in this regard.

    Hi K,
    Whats the default character set of you MySQL and Oracle Databases.
    What version of JDBC driver are you using?
    Is there any unicode characters used in your data?
    Have you tried offline data move?
    Thanks
    Dermot.

  • Problems using Quick Migrate in SQL Developer 1.5 for MySQL to Oracle 10g

    Hi all,
    I am trying to use SQL Developer 1.5 migration tools (Quick Migrate) to perform online capture and build source model to migrate from MySQL 5.x to Oracle 10g on Windows platform. I get these errors and the Quick Migrate process fails:
    oracle.dbtools.metadata.persistence.PersistableObject.doInsert(PersistableObject.java:238)
    I did a search and used the sqldeveloper.cmd script but still fails. Then I created a new database and truncated the repository. I now get the above error plus two new ones listed below:
    oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:112)
    Error loading nls:OALL8 is in an inconsistent state
    Error occurred during capture: Protocol violation
    It fails during the capture process for MySQL 5.1 database
    when it begins to capture the tables from MySQL.
    Does anyone know how to resolve these issues when migrating from MySQL to Oracle 10g using Quick Migrate with SQL Developer 1.5 release?

    Hi all,
    I put the following in my sqldeveloper.cmd file:
    SET ORACLE_HOME=%CD%
    What is very confusing is that with SQL Developer 1.5, there are several levels and several SQL Developer executables! I am really not sure which of these to use:
    I created the SQLDeveloper 1.5 directory called SQLDeveloper1_5 on Windows:
    1) cd C:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338
    there exists a sqldeveloper.exe
    2) cd c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper.exe
    3) cd c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloer\bin\sqldeveloper.exe
    Which SQLDeveloper 1.5 executable should I be using and where should I place the
    sqldeveloper.cmd file?
    Also I did try to use a different database and schema for the repository with Quick Migrate but it appears a bug exists in SQL Developer 1.5 version that causes errors with Quick Migrate for MySQL to Oracle? Is this correct?
    As an update, I ran the following commands:
    cd to
    c:\sqldeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin
    sqldeveloper.cmd sqldeveloper.exe
    Start sqldeveloper.exe
    Perform standard capture for MySQL using the new mig2 schema as the new repository
    It starts the capture but fails on the errors below:
    Error loading nls:OALL8 is in an inconsistent state
    UPDATE
    ============================
    I tried this again and it worked with the exception of one error message listed below:
    Here are the steps that I followed:
    1. Create a Windows cmd script
    Put the following entries in the script:
    SET ORACLE_HOME=%CD%
    save the command windows script as sqldeveloper.cmd
    Copy this script to the base installation directory for SQLDeveloper
    Example:
    1. cd c:\SQLDeveloper1_5\sqldeveloper-5338\sqldeveloper
    2. Start SQLDeveloper with the command script that you created earlier
    Example:
    Open a Windows shell prompt window and execute the following scripts:
    a) sqldeveloper.cmd sqldeveloper.exe
    b) sqldeveloper.exe
    3) In SQL Developer 1.5
    From the Migrate menu,
    a) Delete current repository and create a new schema in Oracle target database call it mig2.
    b) Then create a new repository in SQL Developer 1.5
    c) Right mouse click on the MySQL 5.x database and choose capture
    It worked with the exception of one error message:
    o.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Error while registering Oracle JDBC Diagnosability MBean.
    So it looks like something is screwed up with my JDBC drivers and configuration for MySQL. How do I diagnose the JDBC driver issue for MySQL?
    Thanks!!!
    Ben
