Problem in uninstalling obiee 11g

Hi,
I am trying to uninstall obiee 11g on a windows server.
When i click on the deinstall button, the command prompt pops up and disappears.
The uninstall screen never comes up !
Any clues ?

Hi,
It's problem with your Java (i think u deinstalled java before deinstalling obiee11g) can you check it your java and if its not available try to install same java version, same path then try to deinstall obiee part.
Note:if you have permission to registry (delete all obiee,weblogic,java relevant and then reboot your pc after reboot try to remove obiee11g installed physical physical folder, delete obiee DSN (ODBC), delete services from ms_services, remove start menu folder after clean above all then delete TEMP/TMP folder etc..

I am installing OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 on Windows Server 2003 R2 - Enterprise Edition with System Local Administrator rights. When installation reached to 96% a notepad application instance opened and a warning message appears "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect". When I opened installation log file "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs" then I found follwing message in it:

Because of different new errors , decided to uninstall OBIEE 11g on linux.

I have a problem using the Obiee 11g 11.1.1.6.0

I have installed the Oracle BI EE suite 11.1.1.6.0. in Win Xp (32bit). And I couldn't view the 'analytic' from the browser an error " Error 404: not found" and sometimes "500 : Internal server error". And I tried to restart the BI services, checked through the console and em as well. I want to whether (11.1.1.6.0) is compatible to run in the xp are is there any prerequisites to be taken care of (or) do I have to rectify any of the installation errors if any. Thank you, Kindly leave your suggestions/comments.

As specified in my last reply too, here are the answers for your issues
1) Actually when I try to access the Analytics, Console, Enterprise Manager ( an error occurred saying browser could not connect to the port ).
Yes, if you try to access analytics on port 9704, it will error out. This is because from 11.1.1.5 onwards, simple install of OBIEE has only one weblogic server on 7001. So you must try the url http://IP:7001/analytics. If you have been trying this already, just check if there are any connectivity issues to the server or firewall etc
2)And when I start the BI services, there only one cmd prompt pop up other than Start BI window.
Yes, since there is only one weblogic server there will be only one command prompt.
You could try accessing all the analytics on 7001 port and see. I think your .6 is perfectly working fine and you do not need to get back to .5

Uninstall OBIEE 11g

Hi There,
I installed OBIEE 11g, then got tons of error, so I am thinking uninstall completely then re-install again.
I use Deintall, this does uninstall all the BIE components, but weblogic service is still running, do I need to uninstall that too?
Also I cannot delete Middleware directory, it said it is in use.
Any tips on completely install this?

I installed OBIEE 11g, then got tons of error[s],Yep, that pretty much has been my experience so far too.
I thought the same thing, let's uninstall this bad boy. First thing I want to tell you is that I hope you installed OBIEE 11g to your root directory (i.e. C:\ ). If you buried the install deep in a folder structure, you may have issues deleting files.
Here's roughly the steps that I took:
1) Uninstall OBIEE. --Sounds like you completed this.
2) Noticed weblogic components did not get uninstalled. Went to start menu, weblogic ->Uninstall. Uninstalled those components. -- You still need to do this.
3) Tried to delete remaining files in OBIEE 11g folder for clean re-install. Got error message saying file was in use. Go to your Windows Services (you're on Windows right?) and kill any running Oracle OBIEE 11g services that weren't taken care of by the uninstall process.
4) Delete the remaining files. If you did put your install too deep in a file structure, you'll have to get creative about how to remove the deepest files.
Let me know if that helps.

Problem in upgrading obiee 11g

I Installed obiee 11g successfully and while running upgrade assistant after giving web logic server port address i m getting an error as
router to destination not available
In my system there is no OBIEE 10g software and i have only that 10g rpd and catalog
wat is the source of the error

With limited information provided by you, make sure you have provided correct port number and OBIEE 11g is up and running. If the rpd connects to any databases ( oracle) make sure the tnsnames.ora file is copied to network\admin in oracle_common and bi_home.

Issue with OBIEE 11g Deinstall

Hi All,
While trying to uninstall OBIEE 11g 6.8 (Simple Install), I guess I did a wrong step, by mistake I unistalled Weblogic Server before deinstalling the Oracle Instance and now while trying to deinstall the instance using "Deinstall Managed ASInstance", it gives me an error "INS- Unable to connect to Oracle WebLogic Administration Server" which makes sense because there is no admin server running now without weblogic.
What should I do now ?
1. Should I proceed with deleting the binaries and then manually delete the instance folder later on - If I do this, will I get an error while doing a fresh installation again?
2. Is there a way to install weblogic server again and then I can start again by deleting the Oracle Instance again
I realize that I should have uninstalled Weblogic Server at the end but now I am stuck, can anybody please help me on this?

Ronny , No where you can't install weblogic to start with uninstall again !
just go with the option #1 if it is linux just rm directory should work otherwise delete the binaries, folders manually & environment variables

Not sure about the behaviour in 11g, but we faced a similar issue in 10g while passing the presentation varaibles to detail report where main/detail report where coming from different subject areas. The behavior was a little unpredictable. To overcome this, we tried using request variable instead of presentation variable and it worked for us.
You can give it a try by doing the same and see if it works for you.

OBIEE 11g install

I am trying to install OBIEE 11g on Windows XP with 4 GIG of ram and during Configuration it is failing at "Creating ASInstance" If I continue to configure then it also failed at " Executing: opmnctl start"

Removing Admin Server in OBIEE 11g on AIX 6.1

Hello all,
1. We had installed OBIEE 11g software only install and configured a instance which we had to uninstall later on. We had followed the steps provided by oracle for uninstallation of instance - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/bi.1111/e10539/c6_deinstall.htm#CIHIDHEB
2. We had also deleted the contents in bifoundation_domain.
3. Then we had deleted Managed server entry from console.
4. Then we executed config.sh for another instance and the port allocated to the new console is 7002, with a new set of Admin and Managed server.
Kindly suggest a way to delete AdminServer of the first instance, where console is using port number 7001.

Before going to install obiee11g,
just clean all existing obiee11g install registry, RCU Schema(DEV_BIPLATDFROM/DEV_MDS),
physical folders,
temp/tmp and services.msc (admin server/bi_server, OPMN/node manager -->delete services) , ODBC - obiee11g existing connection remove it via registry then reboot u r pc and then start install ...

when am trying install the patch for obiee11g 11.1.1.6.0 to upper version i facing this problem
OPatch Version : 11.1.0.9.0
OUI Version : 11.2.0.1.0
The OUI version is not applicable for current OPatch version.
OPatch failed with error code = 1

am not under stand what the purpose of Oracle_home is it related to DB or OBI Application?

you need to download the latest OPatch by searching http://support.oracle.com for 'How To Download And Install The Latest OPatch Version [ID 274526.1]'
After which you can start with the Patching of OBIEE.

Hi Titas,
with such problems typically, at least for me, the cause turns out to be something simple and embarrassing like:
- I am connected to another database,
- The database is right but I have made some manual adjustments without committing them,
- I have got the wrong query from the query log,
- I have got the right query but my request is based on multiple queries.
Do other OBIEE reports work fine?
Have you tried removing columns one by one to see whether it makes a difference?

OBIEE 11g - serious problem when rotating columns into "table prompt" area

Hi, I'm hitting an OBIEE 11g issue that's causing huge problems on reports. Essentially, the problem is this - if I dump all the columns of a query to a table, everything looks fine. But if I rotate one of the columns into the "table prompts" area, OBIEE is actually resubmitting a WRONG query. The query format changes from:

I completely do not understand what is going on here. The second query has a ton of problems. First off, it's doing some type of UNION operation - no idea why it's doing that. And the real problem is that it's unioning results from a different fact table, FACT_LEDGER_period instead of FACT_LEDGER_ytd, which is completely screwing up our results.
Long and short, I simply don't understand at all why the query should change just from rotating a column up into the table prompt area.
Any ideas?

Now, on the table being chosen for picking up "ORG_ID_DESC" might be pretty much depending on the best source available as you know. If you would like BI Server to pick up any particular source, probably you could try the "LTS Priority Group" way.

execute your query.
Goto ST04/ detailed analysis menu Oracle session.
Identify your session searching something like SELECT ... FROM /BIC/A* where * is your ODS name in the SQL statement.
Click on this SQL statement and then display execution plan;
if you aren't on Oracle then let me know what options you do have...
put this info in the thread.
