Problem in upload the file...

Hi Gurus,
I am new in ABAP. I want to upload a file to Application Server.
1. I create a file in Excel and give extension .prn and save on desktop so i think this file is on my presentation server.
2. Now thru ABAP Editor i want to upload this file to Application Server
Because i have to use this file in BDC.
please give me the process..

Hi Yogesh,
As per the above suggestion you can use CG3Z tcode to upload your file directly from PS(Prersentation Server) to AS (Application Server).
Otherwise if you need the procedure for coding, then first sav the file in .xls or .csv or any format and upload the file into an internal table using any standard FM as per the extension ehich you use. Later use OPEN DATASET stmt. and open a file in AS and pass the data from your Internal table into this file through TRANFSER stmt and after completing the required process use CLOSE DATASET stmt accordingly.

This code is a mess! Don't put your logic and control into your JSP; use the JSP only for display!
As for your error, it's because you can't forward after the response has been committed. An illegal state exception will be thrown except you can't see it in the browser because the server has already committed the response and can't change it now. You need to get rid of the forward action. Put in a link to that page instead. Or use a a meta tag to redirect.
But really, this code cannot be modified to get rid of the problem. It should be scrapped and you should rethink your design. Have a servlet do your control and all this uploading code should also be put into a servlet; never in a JSP

Problem in uploading the file of internal table into appliaction server

i want to send the data of internal table to application server through selection screen and in selection screen and in selection screen parameter it should show the path of application server and through that path internal table data should go to application server , if possible give the code

How to avoid the split problem when uploading the data from csv file

Dear Friends,
              I have to upload data from the .csv file to my custom table , i have found a problem when uploading the data .
i am using the code as below , please suggest me what i have to do in this regard

in the flat file i can see for one of the record for the field Title as
Director, Finance - NAR............there by through my code the wa_empdata_csv-Title is getting splited data as "Director, and Department field is getting Finance - NAR" , i can see that even though " Director, Finance - NAR" is one word it is getting split .
.......which is the problem iam facing.Please could any body let me know how in this case i should handle in my code that this word
"Director,Finance - NAR"   wil not be split into two words.

Hi Madhuri,
Best way to avoid such problem is to use TAB delimited file instead of comma separated data. Generally TAB does not appear in data.
If you are generating the file, use tab instead of comma.
If you cannot modify the format of file and data length in file is fixed character, you will need to define the structure and then move data in fixed length structure.

Problem with uploading a file in Clustered Environment

Hi,
I have a problem with uploading a file in a clustered environment. I have an iview component which facilitates an upload action of an xml config file. The problem is that the upload of the modified XML file is reflected only in the central instance of the cluster and not in the dialog instances. The dialog instances hold the old config file.
Is there any solution to upload the file to all the nodes in the cluster.

Hi,
This is a known problem with clustered environment. Remember that your portal component runs on just on dialog instance and it doesn't automatically have access to the other nodes. However, there are some ways to get around this
1. Use KM to store files. KM is a common repository for all application servers and therefore you needn't worry more
2. Use an external batch oriented product (suresync/robocopy) to synch folders on the different DIs. You basically use your existing portal component, but there is a batch job which makes sure the upload folder is identical on all DIs (however, there is a slight delay depending on how often you run the batch job)
3. Store the files on a shared disk directly from the portal component.

In debuggin mode, i can see the itab uploaded with xml payload. But in that same place, the hexadecimal format has double zeros 00 after each character.
XML message : <?xml
Correct Hexadecimal : 3C3F786D6C
Hexadecimal in itab : 3C003F0078006D006C00
This makes the resultant xml invalid.
can anyone help me to solve this?

Object to upload the file in SAP

Hi All
I have a problem while uploading the .txt file, when i am trying to upload it just says upload failed, I added
the objects S_GUI and S_DATASET objects,but still no effect. Can any body provide any information or hint.
I ran Su53 and this is showing no conflict authorization.

How to use the applet to upload the file ?

I am facing a problem that , I don't know how to use applet to upload the file to server .
I have the code to upload the file by using servlet .
However , I want to use applet to upload the file .But , the format of servlet I have used is "multipart/form-data"
but applet can not do so , I think it is the header of the data . I don't know what can I do .....
Can anyone give me some suggestion or coding to write the file upload by using applet ?
Besides , using the socket are there any other choices ?

Well, to upload files you need to
Server App - running on the webserver
1. Open a socket
(Study the classes Socket, InputStream, OutputStream in the Java API)
2. Wait for connection.
3. Open FileOutputStream
3. Read data from InputStream, Write to FileOutputStream
4. Close InputStream and FileOutputStream
Applet
1. Open a filedialog (Swing, AWT)
2. Open file (FileInputStream)
3. Connect to uploadServer (steps described above)
4. Read FileInputStream, write OutputStream
5. Close File and Socket
This is just simpl and basic terms get you on the right track

b. Are you running your computer from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? That is important for Premiere Elements 8 as well as for its
required QuickTime. In addition, right click the computer desktop icon for Premiere Elements 8 and select and apply Run As Administrator.
3. Project Specifics
For now, import your source media into the project from the computer hard drive using the project's Get Media/Files and Folders. Leave the Elements Organizer and Albums out of the equation for now. We will circle back to it soon after we decide everything else is working as it should be.
a. You need to set a project preset. And, that project preset should match the properties of your source media. So important to know properties of source media.
b. When you import your source media into a project you will get a red line over its content if the project preset is not a match - either because you set the wrong one or the program does not have a match for your particular video. That red line means that you are not seeing the best possible preview of what is being played back in the Edit area monitor. To get the best possible preview, you hit the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to get a rendered Timeline (red line goes from red to green after this type of rendering). That green line over your rendered Timeline indicates that you are now getting the best possible preview. This is solely a preview thing. Longer story, but I will leave it at that for now.
c. Check Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks to assure that those Scratch Disks are being saved to a computer hard drive location with enough free space to accept them. Make sure that you do not have pile ups of previews files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files.

Never move, delete, or rename source files after they have been imported into a project which has been saved/closed. Otherwise, nasty media disconnect problems. You have only copies of media in Premiere Elements. The originals are on the hard drive, and the project must trace back to the originals where they were at import.
Based on the above, try to start a new project. But, let me know ahead of time what you will be importing into the project. I am looking for

audio compression
frame size
frame rate
interlaced or progressive
pixel aspect ratio
If you do not know, we could try to get that type of information from knowing the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.

Pixel dimensions and how many photos?
Lots and lots of details, but eventually they all mellow into one workflow that you can customize for your projects.

Uploading the file as a blob to oracle database

Hi..I wrote a program to upload the files as a blob to the database. It works fine for JSP files but when i try to upload a css file...it gives "No more data to read from socket" exception. I have tried all combinations like trying to upload css file first and then a jsp file and then multiple jsp file and then a css file and so on, thinking that it might be a storage problem. But it gives an error only for the css files...could there be any delimiter kind of symbol or something in the css file which make the oracle think that it is the end of file? Just a guess...any help is appreciated...
n btw i upload the file using the file input stream and then i use preparedStatement.setBinaryStream method ....

Damn it...I cant believe that i took this long to figure it out...the maximum size of the file that my blob can store is 4 kb...and all my css files are bigger than that...wasted so many hours on this...:(

UCCX 8.0 "Error while uploading the file. Please try again."

I was on UCCX version 8.0.2.11003-10 and i was able to upload an script with the same name as an old one (overwrite).
Upgrade to UCCX 8.0.2.11004-12 and now I am receiving the error: "Error while uploading the file. Please try again."
There was a bug CSCth09248 that affected version 7 but supposed to be fixed on version 8 and was fixed on an earlier version. But after moving to a minor patch, problem came back...
Any ideas?

I belive the bug was initially opened to fix the issue when uploading script fails when using wizard to configure uccx.
But now they have re-opened the same bug instead of opened a new one for the issue that you have.
I looked at the case attached to that bug, case # 617145545. Below is the problem description that customer has which is same as yours and this bug has been re-opened to fix this particular problem.
When I tried to upload a modified script with an existing file name, the message "script file already exists.
Overwrite existing script file, continue?" comes up and when I select "OK" then,
it dispaly Status "Error while uploading the file. Please try again".
If I remove an existing file first, it will upload fine.
Using UCCX Admin 8.0.2.11004-12 and UCCX Editor 8.0(2.0).

Images of gallery doesn't load when I upload the files on server

The gallery works fine when the files is on my computer but when I upload the files on my server the images doesn't load.

This won't work on most servers: "./albuminfo9.xml". It should be "../albuminfo9.xml". That may or may not solve the problem. Be sure that all of your files and folders are in the same relative location on the server as they are on your computer. Also be sure that the case for each referenced item is correct. Upper and lower case are sometimes more important on a server than they are on your computer. JPG is not the same as jpg. Be sure that your files are uploading correctly.
