Problem in using LOV's (List of values)

I have created a few messageLovInput items on my OAF page. I have created a table based on a VO in the inline Lov region corresponding to each of the Lov items.
When I enter data manually in messageLovInput and then click the torch button besides it, it opens the inline region and usually queries the VO depending upon the input given in the field.
I have also set the Search Allowed property to 'true' for all the Columns of the table in the inline region of the Lov.
But in my case in few of the Lov input fields, when I enter the data and press the torch button, it goes into error.
The error is an oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException in which it shows the query of the VO along with a where clause.
Eg: If Column name in the query of VO is Employee_number(i.e this is mapped to the messageLovInput item where we enter the data), the error is :
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement:
select * from(the query of the VO) qrslt (where Employee_number like :5 )
The error: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01008: not all variables bound
as the above where clause is dynamically generated.
I am not able to get solution to this problem as this problem does not occur with most of the remaining messageLovInput items on the page. I have also matched the properties of all the Lov input items and have found them to be same.
Can u please provide some help in this issue?

  • Problem in using LOV for validation-JHS 10.1.3

    Hi all,
This problem was also noticed by Phil McDermott (Problem in using LOV for validation-JHS 10.1.3
I am following the demo and I noticed that the Use LOV for Validation functionality does not work on the browse page. However, it does work on the details page!
Another effect of this problem is that once you tried to validate on the browse screen, the lov button does not work anymore.
    Thanks, Joep
Just found out that is does not work when entering "ph" like suggested in the tutorial. When I enter "p" and then tab to the next field, the lov popup does show.

    Thanks for your reply Steven.
I had the same problem as Joep reported here, following the steps at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/jhstutorial/index.html#genandrunagain
    Your solution works for me.
The "completed version of the tutorial application" also has this issue:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jhstutorial/MyDemo.zip
Are there any other known issues for this tutorial? Where can I find such errata list?
    many thanks

  • Displaying the description using a Named List of Values

    Hi All,
Can anyone help me to display just the Description rather then Value on an updateable report using a Named List of Values.
    Thanks
    Arif

    Hi
Create the named list of values. Go to the Report Attributes and then to the column attributes page for the column that you want to be displayed as description. In Tabular Form Element section select Display As: Select List (named LOV). Then in the List of Values section select the LOV that you created in the Named LOV. Set Display Extra Values to No.

  • Can I create  a multi-selection list using a dynamic list of values?

I'm reading section 19.7.3 from the dev guide - it explains how to create a selectOneListbox using a dynamic list of values. Is it possible to create a multi-select listbox from a dynamic list of values?
What I would like to do - I have a read-only view object with a hard-coded query - I would like to display the results of the query in a dropdown list box, or dropdown list box with boolean checkboxes, to allow the user to select multiple items from the list. How can I accomplish this?
    thanks

    Hi JavaX,
I don't know of any JSF components (at least not any ADF Faces components) that lets you do multiple selection in a drop-down. There is an af:selectManyListbox, but it does not render as a drop-down.

  • Problem in using LOV (List of values)

We created a folder 'Testing FCG' in the Business View Manager.
    1) In this we created a new connection of TCD371 Database ( conn) ,
    2) We created a new Data Foundation(DF)  using the existing connection and we added table 'cdhpmember' in the DF
    3) We created a new business element(BE) using DF and we added the column like Firstname,Groupkey and Gendercode
    4) We created a Business View (BV) using DE and we added DE to the BV
    5) We created a LOV(Memkey) using BV and we selected memberkey field
    6) We tried to implement the memberkey field into crystal report as a dynamic parameter
    7) When we try to run the report we got the error like this
Promting failed with the following error message: 'Liat of Values failure: failed to get values. [Cause of error:CSELOVDataSource::setReportInstanceCUID The List of Values did not schedule sucessfully and must be re-scheduled.]'.
    Error source : prompt.dll Error code: 0x8004380D
Could any of you give your input on this error?

It's happening in Crysatl Report designer tool. Not able to run the report. There's not point deploying it in info view.

  • Problem with Pop up key list of values

I have been looking at a problem with key popup list of values. I have some sql in a report region :
    select <columns>,"HTMLDB_ITEM.POPUPKEY_FROM_QUERY (47,resource_id,'select last_name,resource_id from rm_resource',30) "resource" ,
    <other columns> from
    <table name>
now, when I select the value from the pop up it gets returned to the wrong row. Everything appears to be one row out of sync, so selecting an item for row 3 gets returned to row 2. Row 10 returns to row 9 etc.
Looking at the code that is generated it appears to have messed up the sequences - I end up with two "genList0_f48_0" functions being generated.
    Any ideas why this happens?

    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=37683:39
On the page there are four records. selecting an Item from pop up in the last row gets placed in the row above.
If you look at the javascript that gets run on the first two lines they both have the code "javascript:genList0_f21_0()" the third line has
"javascript:genList0_f21_1()" when it should be "javascript:genList0_f21_2()"
    Hope this makes sense.

  • LOV/Choice List - Default Value in Update OAF page

    Hi Guru's,
Need help please, I am looking at personalization but its not working for me to default a value in Group by LOV/Choice List.
Please provide some pointers so that I can achieve this.
I have Requisition page from Buyer Work Center in Oracle US Purchasing Super user. when I pick requisition to update it. It goes to update page, in here I have a header "request".
In this request have a Group By LOV/Choice list it has initial value set to "Default", I wanted to set to "Requisition".
    Is it possible by Personlization?.
    OR
Is it possible by OAF page modification.
if OAF page update, can I get some information to get Page info and update value.
    Thanks in Advance to all.

    Hi,
You need not do this via personalization... Set the profile po%def%group%. This should take care of that.

  • Problem of POP LOV  in a  SQL Report  with pagination

I am using a pop up lov (along with some other fields), HTMLDB_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV(5, null, 'EMPLOYEE_LIST', '20', '50')), in a sql report. This is a report with pagination. Whenever I select any value from pop up lov on first page of the report it gets populated properly in the corresponding text field. But from second page onwards it doesn’t populate any value.
For example, my report fetches a total of 50 rows, of which I am displaying 15 at a time. The popup lov comes with a text field for each row. Whenever I do select from popup lov for 1-15 rows which come on page 1, the values come up in the text field properly, but for rows 16-30 on second page, 31-45 on third 46-50 on fourth the values do not get populated. When I changed the pagination settings to display 40 rows..the values were still coming properly on page 1(1-40 rows) and not on the next page. Any clues… how to resolve this problem?

good find. this is a bug that has already been identified and will be corrected in the upcoming patch release for htmldb. a good work-around for now is to use the equivalent declarative options in the tool. so rather than coding your query like...
select ename , HTMLDB_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV(2, null, 'DEPARTMENT', '20', '50') as "department" from emp
    ...just code it like this...
select ename , null as "department" from emp
...and then use the column attributes screen for your "department" column to indicate that you'd like that col to be rendered as a "Popup LOV (named LOV)" using your DEPARTMENT list of values.
    hope this helps,
    raj

  • "Show List of values"  showing different values than "Preview List of values for the same dimension Object

    Hi All,
I have a dimension object in Business Layer which is showing a different values than the original database values. When I right click on the object and select "Show List of Values its showing values which are not related to the original values in the database but if I right click on the same object and select "Preview List of Values" it shows the right values present in the database. Any suggestions on how to rectify. It was working good and many reports have been built using that particular dimension.
Is there any way to fix the problem without the deleting the object or recreating another similar object as the object has been used in several reports, so by deleting or recreating the object may break the reports.
    Please help!

    Hi
A  list of values is a list that contains the data values associated with an object, Lists of values inserted in the data foundation are inherited by any business layer based on the data foundation.
Right click on the object and select  “Show Values”… Display all the DB values including null
Preview List of Values – also display same values...getting differnece meens...Check weather using any Static List of Values.
If you uncheck the Associated list of values check box "Preview List of Values" options is disabled.
For best practice …LOV is disabled for un-necessary dimension objects
Also If you have Db access check the correct data by
    SELECT
Distinct Schema name. Table/View name. Object name
    FROM
    Schema.name. Table/View name

    create af:popup
    d&d vo as table
to search pass inputText binding and execute vo
