LOV/Choice List - Default Value in Update OAF page

Hi Guru's,
Need help please, I am looking at personalization but its not working for me to default a value in Group by LOV/Choice List.
Please provide some pointers so that I can achieve this.
I have Requisition page from Buyer Work Center in Oracle US Purchasing Super user. when I pick requisition to update it. It goes to update page, in here I have a header "request".
In this request have a Group By LOV/Choice list it has initial value set to "Default", I wanted to set to "Requisition".
Is it possible by Personlization?.
OR
Is it possible by OAF page modification.
if OAF page update, can I get some information to get Page info and update value.
Thanks in Advance to all.

Hi,
You need not do this via personalization... Set the profile po%def%group%. This should take care of that.

  • Default values in Account creation page

    Hello.
    I'm new to CRM and this forum too.
    I need some guidance. I have to set default values in account creation page. For this, I thought to use DO_INIT_CONTEXT method. And, when I searched this forum, I see a lot of threads about BADI CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS.
    Can someone explain if there is any difference if we implement that using DO_INIT_CONTEXT method?
    Thanks to all!

    Hello,
    Actually, some BADI are WebUI specific.
    BADI CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS only gets trigerred in WebUI BP screens.
    DO_INIT_CONTEXT method will be triggered every time you open a window wich contains the view considered. So not only during BP creation.
    Chris Evans, This is the way to go to initialize some fields during BP creation : use of BADI CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS.
    Hope this helps.

  • Default Values option for entire page

    Is there a way to set the entire page to use the default values for the entire page. I know you can set it per variable, and I have quite a rythyme so I can do it fairly quickly but with multiple pages with 100 or so values it gets tiring. I have tried setting it under the Page Settings Manager by setting "usedefaultValueParameters" to True for the page. It seems to ignore this though, it is still sending the parameters.
    I couldn't find any other option, and I do need to still send them on some of the pages within the script, I just don't want to overwrite the same page when I pull it up in future pages after filling it with a databank file.
    Just wondering if there is a better solution or if I need to get back to my F4-Tab-Tab-Tab-Space-Enter-Down-Repeat.

    Thanks for the reply, the only navigation I have done on those pages was clicking cancel on the bottom to go back to the search screen, but it is not working. I guess it is back to setting each field up to use defaults. Unfortunate.
    Does it have to be recorded with that setting?

  • Can't get a blank entry in Choice List of Values (LOV)

    Using Jdev 11.1.1.3 but will be upgrading to 11.1.1.5 in few weeks.
    Need to display a Choice List that is bound a view object with static data. The List should show a blank item since users don’t need to select any.
    I am able to display the LOV in the page but can’t seem to get a blank item as a first item.
    Here is what I did:
    1.     Created the VO with static data. Initially didn’t include it in the Application Module based on the developer guide sec 5.3 but later added to get it in the data control list.
    (Note the application doesn’t need to use any database and simply is using Web Service but for test I am using a DB)
    2.     To configured the VO, tried to add a View Accessor to the VO, but couldn’t select a data source until I added the VO to the App Module !
    3.     In attributes tab added an LOV and specified the data source. In UI Hints ensure the “Include “No Selection” Item” was selected.
    (Initially didn’t shuttle the attribute to the right in the UI hints.)
    4.     In the List UI hints ensured that “Include “No Selection” Item” was selected.
    5.     Dragged the VO Data control to the page and selected ADF Select One Choice.
    6.     On running the List DID NOT include a blank item !? How to get one?
    In pageDef got:
    <list IterBinding="GenderListVO1Iterator" ListOperMode="navigation"
    ListIter="GenderListVO1Iterator" id="GenderListVO1"
    DTSupportsMRU="true">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Gender"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </list>
    I even added the tag NullValueFlag="start" to the PageDef but no blank entry.
    In Page got:
    <af:selectOneChoice value="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.inputValue}"
    label="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.label}"
    required="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.hints.mandatory}"
    shortDesc="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.hints.tooltip}"
    id="soc3">
    <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.GenderListVO1.items}" id="si7"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    If I don't use the VO and code all items in the JSPX page with a blank item that get a blank entry (didn't test with the Web Service yet since not ready).
    What is the issue with VO?
    ( I am also considering a number of SelectManyChecks on the same page but might be difficult)
    Thanks for the reply.
    Edited by: user8769031 on Jun 10, 2011 11:12 AM

    Thanks for the hint, but in my case the attribute is not required. I never see a blank entry. The only way I was able to get a blank is to add a blank item to the static list in the VO. The VO XML file has:
    <LOVUIHints
    ListType="105"
    MRUCount="0"
    ListRangeSize="-1"
    NullValueFlag="start"
    NullValueId="LOVUIHints_NullValueId">
    The Include "No selection" item is not working as expected.

  • How-To populate SELECT LIST default value from SQL Query

    OK, I've done my homework, and did not find my answer in the Forum, so here it is.
    I have a Page that displays fields from a SQL Query. The Page also has below that radiogroups, checkboxes, and Select Lists to allow the user to change values in the fields that are displayed at the top of the Region. I am able to pre-populate the radiogroups and checkboxes by performing a SELECT in the 'Source value or expression' of the Source area of the Page Item.
    However, I am unable to do the same for the Select List fields. Their default value ends up being the first value in the LOV ('-- None --' for NULL values). Source Used: Only when current value in session state is null. Source Type: SQL Query. Also, when I first go into the Page when running it, and check the Session State values, they are all null, so I don't understand why the field is not populated by the SQL Query statement as the radiogroups and checkboxes are.
    Any suggestions??? I've tried all sorts of combinations.

    Thank you for the suggestion.
    I had considered that, but cannot do so, because we are using Oracle Application Express more for development than for data containment.
    We have all our data in an Oracle 10.g DB which is separate from the OAEX server, and the OAEX app will reference that data via VIEWs and DB LINKs. We are doing so primarily as an added data security layer, where the data is housed separate from the app, in case the Web site is ever compromised. The data that can be viewed is restricted to a subset of the actual data that is available.
    Since the data is on a separate server, (I assume) we will not be able to set the source type to Database column, because (I asume) that is dependent upon the data being housed by the OAEX server.
    That still leaves me with having to populate the field with a SELECT statement from the Oracle DB. This unfortuneately is almost a show-stopper for me because of down-stream processing data requirements. Have not been able to come up with contingencies yet.

  • Static list default value.

    I need to retrieve the default value of a static list Crystal report parameter. InfoView honors this setting but I haven't found the field exposed in the Java SDK.  I'm using com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data.IParameterField to access the parameter properties.
    Any pointers would be most welcome.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In your model project, create a view criteria (on the VO which you would be using for displaying values in the LOV). In your view criteria add the attributes and set default value (say add Empno and set its value to literal 1111). Now, when creating LOV for the next view object, select the view criteria you've created in previous step (instead of using all queryable attributes).

  • MySQL Default Values with Updates

    This is a bit off topic, I'm hoping someone can help me here so I don't have to join the MySQL email list.
    I would like to update a row in a table to use the mysql default values. So if TableA has FieldA which had a default value of 1, and now that value is 2, I would like to change this back to 1. Is there an easy way to do this?
    Is there a command in MySQL I can use? Something like:
    update TableA set FieldA = DEFAULT
    Thanks for your time.
    Tyson

    Not according to the documentation (of version 3, anyway). You could delete the record then insert it, not mentioning the field you want to set to default.

  • ADF web select one choice list return value

    hi
    how can i make a choice list that displays a value but return another value
    and then use it as a parameter in a method for a button
    my problem is how to return another value to the button
    thanks

    Hi,
    After creating the selectOneChoice based on the steps you followed, you will need to follow up with the steps below.
    1) Open up your Page Definition file. In the Structure panel, right click on bindings --> Insert inside bindings --> Generic bindings --> attributeValues.
    2) Under Data Source, select your iterator value used to bind the selectOneChoice component. The attribute should be your value ID (example: productId) that you want to be returned by selecting the selectOneChoice component.
    In the backing bean, you get the actual value of the selected item in the list in step #2 by resolving the expression (example) #{bindings.productId.inputValue}.

  • Numbered bullet list-default values

    I have been using Text Expander to insert templates into Pages documents. One of these templates creates a simple numbered bullet list, with only the number one, followed by a period.
    When I add text to this bullet list and press enter or return, I get each new number in sequence. However, there is a preset “Text Indent” under the “List” tab, and a preset “Left Tab” under the “Tabs” tab.
    The Text Expander macro is saving the text in rich text format.
    Is there a way to set default values for the “Number” bullet list in the tab value, such that I do not have these indents and tabs whenever I start a new bullet list?
    Thanks

    @Jerry-
    Thanks much. I've been reading on styles, and it does exactly what I need.
    Mucho gracias!

  • Select List Default Value

    I have wondered about this for a while but haven't found an answer, maybe because I haven't searched for the right thing.
    With a select list, is there a straightforward way to specify the first item on the list for the default value?
    What is the best way to handle a case where the query providing the list of values may take a while to complete? I don't want to double the setup time by repeating the query just for the sake of finding the first item.

    Yes, it is. I am never using default values but computations. Default value will be set only after page submittion and not on load. A computation will set the item session state on load. Usually, you use some kind of condition for the computations to set the value of the item to something only if the item value is NULL. One of the reasons is also that the computations are visible in the page property and default values are hidden within the item properties.

  • Problem in using LOV's (List of values)

    I have created a few messageLovInput items on my OAF page. I have created a table based on a VO in the inline Lov region corresponding to each of the Lov items.
    When I enter data manually in messageLovInput and then click the torch button besides it, it opens the inline region and usually queries the VO depending upon the input given in the field.
    I have also set the Search Allowed property to 'true' for all the Columns of the table in the inline region of the Lov.
    But in my case in few of the Lov input fields, when I enter the data and press the torch button, it goes into error.
    The error is an oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException in which it shows the query of the VO along with a where clause.
    Eg: If Column name in the query of VO is Employee_number(i.e this is mapped to the messageLovInput item where we enter the data), the error is :
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement:
    select * from(the query of the VO) qrslt (where Employee_number like :5 )
    The error: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01008: not all variables bound
    as the above where clause is dynamically generated.
    I am not able to get solution to this problem as this problem does not occur with most of the remaining messageLovInput items on the page. I have also matched the properties of all the Lov input items and have found them to be same.
    Can u please provide some help in this issue?

  • How to set system date as a default value in UIX/XML page?

    Example: We set default values using following statements:
    <set property="inputValue" target="${bindings.PoNumber}" value="${'1234'}"/>
    <set property="inputValue" target="${bindings.UserName}" value="${param.MyParam1}"/>
    In JDeveloper Help, we cannot find a way to set a Date attribute's default value to today's (system) date. Any suggestions?
    Also, does anyone have a reccomendation on a good book for uix/xml?
    Thanks, Ali.
