  • JDeveloper 9i - Problem with using tag lib

    I am having problem with building my project, using JDeveloper 9i.
    My project includes custom tag libraries.
    When I build my project, I get back the following error:
    Error(1): oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Invalid element 'servlet' in content of 'web-app', expected elements '[error-page, taglib, resource-ref, security-constraint, login-config, security-role, env-entry, ejb-ref]'
    for every jsp file that has the taglib directive as follows:
    <%@ taglib prefix="srp" uri="/srpTagLib" %>
    Please note that the application runs OK, but it can not be build by JDeveloper for debugging purpose.
    Any ideas? Please help!!!!
    Thanks,
    Cathy

    What version is your tag library and what version is your deployment descriptor?

  • Problems in using tag libraries with JRun3.1

    Hi,
    I am new to JRun app server. I have a custom tag library named download. This tag library is used to download the files from the web server.
    First i want to know, where i have to put my tag library in the JRun?
    Second is there any configuration is needed to access it thru my jsp page?
    I copy the jar file and paste it in WEB-INF/lib directory of the JRun server.
    When i access my jsp page it gives the following error:
    /test.jsp:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Parse Error in JSP page: The taglib directive on line 1 is not valid. The tag library descriptor 'download' could not be found.
    allaire.jrun.jsp.ParseException: The taglib directive on line 1 is not valid. The tag library descriptor 'download' could not be found.

    There should be some tld files that came with the tag lib. These need to be placed in the web inf folder.

  • JSP : Tiles Error tag.getAsString : component context is not defined

    JSP : Tiles Error tag.getAsString : component context is not defined
    Im working with Struts 1.1 and Tiles, under Tomcat 5.0.16
    My application works fine using Struts 1.1 alone, however, when attempting to run the application in a Tiles environment, I get an error:

    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Error - tag.getAsString : component context is not defined. Check tag syntax

    I have defined this in my tiles-defs.xml file, and as far as I can tell, everything else is configured properly (I have looked over the included Struts document examples, and others on the web, and I seem to have everything configured identically).
    What am I missing???
    I have created a series of mostly empty JSP files, for simplicity sake.
    JSP FILES:
    -     header.jsp
    -     footer.jsp

    -     rootLayout.jsp

    and

    I found an entry in the Mail Archive for Struts. I got it working. My working code is below. You need to in the base JSP import the header and put the 'title' out to it.
    tiles:def file:
    <!DOCTYPE tiles-definitions PUBLIC
    "-//Apache Software Foundation//DTD Tiles Configuration 1.1//EN"

    <put name="navbar" value="/common/navbar.jsp"/>
    </definition>
    <definition name="petstore.Login" extends=".petstore.Base" >
    <put name="title" value="Login Page" />
    <put name="content" value="/Logon.jsp"/>
    <put name="test1" value="test1value"/>
    </definition>
    base tile def:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <title>pet store common (jsp)</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <tiles:insert attribute="header">
    <%-- both of these attributes are accessible from header.jsp It works!!! --%>
    <tiles:put name="title" beanName="title" beanScope="tile" />

    <tiles:get name="message" />
    <tiles:get name="content" />
    <tiles:get name="navbar" />

  • Problem while using h:selectOneMenu tag

    Hello All,
    I am facing a problem while using the <h:selectOneMenu in my JSP.
    My requirement is as below,
    I am having a list of manager in the select box.
    User will select any of the manager and click a command link to assign the manager.
    On click of this command link backerbean method should be invoked.
    My problem is,
    I am able to display the list box without any problem.
    But Once I select any value from the list box the command link is not working.
    That is click on the command link is not invoking the backer bean method.
    My code look as below,
    JSP
    <td>
    <h:selectOneMenu value="#pc_EmployeeDetailsView.assignedMgrPositionId}" id="assignedMgrPositionId" style="width: 170px">
    <f:selectItems value="#{pc_EmployeeDetailsView.managerList}" />
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    </td><td></td>
    <td><h:commandLink action="#pc_EmployeeDetailsView.assignManager}" onmousedown="setEditAction('assign');">
    <h:outputText value="Assign"></h:outputText>
    </h:commandLink></td>Backer Bean
         SelectItem managerSelectItem =  new SelectItem("0","Select Manager");
         ArrayList managerSelectItemList = new ArrayList();
         managerSelectItemList.add(managerSelectItem);
         int managerListSize = managerSearchList.size();
         for (int i=0; i<managerListSize; i++) {
              Employee manager = (Employee) managerSearchList.get(i);
              managerSelectItem =  new SelectItem(StringUtils.isNotEmpty(manager.getOrgInfo().getPositionNumber())?manager.getOrgInfo().getPositionNumber():"",StringUtils.isNotEmpty(manager.getFullDisplayName())?manager.getFullDisplayName():"");
              managerSelectItemList.add(managerSelectItem);
         setManagerList(managerSelectItemList);Please help me on this.
    Thanks In Advance

    I have solved this problem by putting the list in portlet session and allowing the get method to get the SelectItem from the session

  • Problem when using weblogic.jspc from an IDE

    I am trying to call JSPC from an IDE (as part of an Eclipse Builder). To optimize performance I want to avoid to spwan a new process. So I am trying to call weblogic.jspc's main method directly from the IDE. Everything works fine for simple simple pages.
              But when the page refers to a tag library with a tag providing a TagExtraInfo class, weblogic.jspc complains about the class not extending the TagExtraInfo base class although it does:

              I could not figure out what exactly causes the problem. Using exactly the same settings workes just fine.

              This looks quite obvious that the class named by s3 simply is no extension of TagExtraInfo, but unfortunately the only class with that name being referenced by the class path does extend this class. I wondered what the problem might be and came up with the following answer:
              <p>
              The class of the bean instantiated by Beans.instantiate extends a class with the name "javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo" which is cast to another class with exactly <b>the same name, but a different class loader</b>. Since neither of the class loaders is parent of the other one, both classes are not considered being the same class although they have the same name. Sounds weird, but exactly this is the problem!
              <p>
              Where does it come from and why it works fine when the tool is executed in a separate thread or on the console?
              <p>
              From my understanding the problem is caused in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc:
              <p>
                   GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder);
              <p>
              This line of code creates a class loader not knowing a parent class loader by which the class weblogic.jspc was loaded. All classes weblogic.jspc is using or calling will be loader by either the same or a parent class loader - this is important to understand. Since TagExtraInfo is directly referenced by StandardTagLib one instance of the class object (the object of type class) will be generated and linked when the class StandardTagLib is instantiated for the first time by the class loader which loaded weblogic.jspc (or by its parent). This is consequence which can not be avoided.
              <p>
              But now look at line 1290 of class StandardTagLib: It explicitly requests the class to be loaded by the GenericClassLoader instantiated in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc. This class loader, off course, is not aware of the same class just being loaded by another class loader since it has no knowledge of it. It simply creates a fresh copy of the class object, which only differs in the reference to the class loader which created this class object.
              <p>
              Actually, I figured that the following line of code replacing the upper one, would resolve the problem:
              <p>
              GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder, this.getClass().getClassLoader());
              <p>
              Doing this, the GenericClassLoader would know its logical parent by reference and would implicitly - thanks to the implementation of java.lang.ClassLoader - try to find the class using its parent first, would find a valid class, and hence use the same instance of the class object instantiated by the parent class loader. The problem would be solved.
              <p>
              It works fine in the console or under a running application server, because they will always have the weblogic jar in their system class path. ClassLoaders not having a parent are implied to have the system class loader as their parent - the piece of code does work in this case.
              <p>
              Under Eclipse this is no option, off course. We would restrain us to exactly this version of the APIs used by the weblogic version in the system class path.
              <p>
              I was trying to patch this myself by extending weblogic.jspc by my own class to pass on a proper class loader knowing its parent, and I was sort of successful: The problem disappeared. But I can't gain exactly what I am looking for, because the method runJspc with four parameters (around line 447) of weblogic.jspc is private to the class and its public brother always passes true to this method as the fourth parameter - causing jspc to recompile all JSPs instead of just the requested ones.
              <p>
              Everything refers to WL81SP3.
              <p>
              That's were I got stuck currently. I have read some postings about this problem in the internet - some dating far back into the history. So, I have the impression that there have been some folks around with the same problem. I think the patch I suggested does not any harm and I could simply use jspc in my builder without any problems.
              <p>
              Regards,
              <p>

    Thanx Praveen,
    I have already googled this error.I found many people have already posted this problem.But my problem is different.I am getting error only when clicking on hyper link otherwise that arraylist is displaying result on jsp.
    I have also gone through this link
    http://blog.smartlogicsolutions.com/2007/06/12/struts-11-problems-with-logiciterate-tags-and-cannot-find-bean-xxx-under-any-scope/
    It talks about :-
    1) using logic:present tag if your arraylist can be null.
    2) Take care that getter setter are properly written.. I mean there are no spelling mistakes.
    3)arraylist is set in request scope.
    4)I have also included the necessary taglibs.
    I have confirmed all these things.Please help me.I am pretty new to java.Thanx.

  • Problem with display tags (not accepting inner tags)

    Hi guys ,
    I am using display tags which is fine but i had a problem with anchor tag and the jsp display tag.
    <display:column title="Row_Id" >
    ' target="-blank" onclick=""><c:out value="${row_rowNum}"/>
    </display:column>
    here i got the exception:
    The value of attribute "href" associated with an element type "a" must not contain the '<' character.
    here if jstl is not used then how to put my value in anchor tag
    please help me.

    Can you use EL directly:
    <a href="example.jsp?id=${row.id"/"></a>

  • Error in using tag library

              I am using Weblogic server 8.1 and have a struts app. I am using the random taglib
              from jarkarta and recieving this error while using weblogic. With the same setup
              in tomcat everything works fine. What do I need to do special for weblogic?
              ERROR FROM WEBLOGIC
              /control/register/newMember.jsp(1): Error in using tag library uri='http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/random-1.0'
              prefix='randME': For tag 'string', cannot load extra info class 'org.apache.taglibs.random.RandomStrgTEI'
              probably occurred due to an error in /control/register/newMember.jsp line 1:
              <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/random-1.0" prefix="randME"
              %>
              taglibs-random.jar is in WEB-INF/lib
              random.tld is in WEB-INF
              the taglib include in my jsp looks like this:
              <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/random-1.0" prefix="randME"
              %>
              the call in my jsp looks like this:
              <randME:number id="random1" range="10000000-99999999"/>
              my web.xml looks like this:
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/random-1.0</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/random.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              any help would be appreciated

    This may not solve your problem, but WL8.1 SP1 seems to have a problem with
              closing tags.
              Where you are using:
              <randME:number id="random1" range="10000000-99999999"/>
              ...try this instead:
              <randME:number id="random1" range="10000000-99999999"></randME:number>

  • Problem in using SAX parser.

    Hai All,
    I have got a problem in using SAX parser.
    My XML looks like this:
    <authorizer>
    <first-name>HP</first-name>
    <last-name>Services</last-name>
    <phone>800-22-1984</phone>
    </authorizer>
    <destination>
    <first-name>John</first-name>
    <last-name>Doe</last-name>
    <company>John Doe Enterprises, Inc.</company>
    <department>Manufacturing</department>
    <phone>800-555-1234</phone>
    <address>
    <street-one>1654 Peachtree Str</street-one>
    <street-two>Suite Y</street-two>
    <city>Atlanta</city>
    <province>GA</province>
    <country>US</country>
    <postal-code>30326</postal-code>
    </address>
    </destination>
    my part of SAX parser code is:
    public void startElement (String name, AttributeList attrs)
    throws SAXException
    accumulator.setLength(0);
    public void characters (char buf [], int offset, int len)
    throws SAXException
    accumulator.append(buf, offset, len);
    public void endElement (String name)
    throws SAXException
    if (name.equals("first-name") )
    firstname=accumulator.toString().trim();
    if (name.equals("last-name"))
    lastname=accumulator.toString().trim();
    My problem is that i have to store the values of first-name and last-name.
    but i have that in both
    <authorizer> </authorizer> Tag and
    <destination> </destination>
    I need to retrive authorizer's firstname,lastname and
    destination's firstname and lastname.
    what i mean is i need to store authorizerFirstName,authorizerLastName
    destinationFirstname and destinationLastname.
    Pls let me know how to do that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Pooja.

    hi pooja,
    I think you are using DataHandler for parsing. Its deprecated. try using contentHandler . You can get the value of the element at the beginning. say for example
    <firstname>sdfs</firstname>
    the startElement will be firstname
    the next method that it invokes will be characters method which has the text associated with the element. I am sending a sample code for your problem. try using it .
    boolean m_boolinAuth = false;
    boolean m_boolinDest = false;
    boolean m_bAuthFName = false;
    boolean m_bAuthLName = false;
    public void startElement(String namespaceURI, String elementName, String qName, Attributes atts)
    //does the logic for startElement
    if(qName.equals("Authorization"))
    m_boolinAuth = true;
    m_boolinDest = false;
    else if(qName.equals("Destination"))
    m_boolinDest = true;
    m_boolinAuth = false;
    if(qName.equals("firstname"))
    m_bFirstName = true;
    if(qName.equals("lastname"))
    m_bLastName = true;
    public void characters(char[] ch, int start, int length)
    //does the logic for characters.
    String str = new String(ch,start,length);
    if(m_bFirstName)
    if(m_boolinAuth)
    m_strAuthFirstName =str;
    else if(m_boolinDest)
    m_strDestFirstName = str;
    m_bFirstName = false;
    if(m_bLastName)
    //same as first name case;
    }

  • XSLT problem with img tag in Saxon

    Hi,
    Iam getting a problem with <img> tag when transforming a document using Saxon transformer. In the input XSLT I have proper closing tag for <img>, but the output of the transformation is not well formed as the closing tag for <img> does not appear. I need to feed the output to a FO object to generate a print preview, but the output is not well-formed.
    Kindly help to resolve the issue.
    Kind Regards,
    Abhinandan

    Perhaps that is because you are generating HTML as your output? As I recall, <img> tags don't have to be closed in HTML. So try generating XML instead if you need XML.

  • Problem in using 'Path Variable' in Linked resources in Eclipse

    Hi All
    Currently we are working on a J2EE project on which we have established the split-development environment. In this environment we have few UI web sub-projects. These projects are bundled as a one UI project at the time of deploying the application.
    For Example UI proj Structure is as below
    ../UI-Proj-Main/WebContent/sub
                        /jsp1
                        /jsp2
    ../UI-Proj-Sub1/WebContent/sub
                        /jsp1_sub1
                        /jsp2_sub1
    ../UI-Proj-Sub2/WebContent/sub
                        /jsp1_sub2
                        /jsp2_Sub2
    In the final ear project which got deployed on the server we have only on war file which have below structure
    ../UI-Proj-Main/sub
                        /jsp1
                        /jsp2
                        /jsp1_sub1
                        /jsp2_sub1
                        /jsp1_sub2
                        /jsp2_Sub2
    To perform this we have created a linked-source of UI-Proj-Sub1 and UI-Proj-Sub2 in the project UI-Proj-Main. For this a an entry of '<linkedResources>' occured in the .project file of UI-Proj-Main . i.e.,
         <linkedResources>
              <link>
                   <name>UI-Proj-Sub1</name>
                   <type>2</type>
                   <location>C:/myProj/UI-Proj-Sub1/sub</location>
              </link>
              <link>
                   <name>UI-Proj-Sub2</name>
                   <type>2</type>
                   <location>C:/myProj/UI-Proj-Sub2/sub</location>
              </link>
         <linkedResources>
    My Problem:
    The '<location>' tag contains the explicit path of my workspace myProj. If I want to create a different workspace then I need to manually edit the .project file for relinking. If I use the Path variable in location i.e.,
    <linkedResources>
         <link>
              <name>UI-Proj-Sub1</name>
              <type>2</type>
              <location>WORKSPACE_LOCC/UI-Proj-Sub1/sub</location>
         </link>
         <link>
              <name>UI-Proj-Sub2</name>
              <type>2</type>
              <location>WORKSPACE_LOCC/UI-Proj-Sub2/sub</location>
         </link>
    <linkedResources>
    then I got following error at the time of deploying the application
    "Runtime exception occurred in publish task 'Split Source Mapping Generation Task'.Source should be absolute."
    Kindly let us know a way to avoid the absolute path in .project file. Our customer don't want us to change the project structure.

    Disabled where? Project or workspace? You should check both.
    And you must still go to an Eclipse forum and ask for help there, this is not an Eclipse support channel.

  • Problem for using oracle xml parser v2 for 8.1.7

    My first posting was messed up. This is re-posting the same question.
    Problem for using oracle xml parser v2 for 8.1.7
    I have a sylesheet with
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl">.
    It works fine if I refer this xsl file in xml file as follows:
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="http://...../GN.xsl"?>.
    When I use this xsl in pl/sql package, I got
    ORA-20100: Error occurred while processing: XSL-1009: Attribute 'xsl:version' not found in 'xsl:stylesheet'.
    After I changed name space definition to
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0"> in xsl file, I got
    ORA-20100: Error occurred while processing: XSL-1019: Expected ']' instead of '$'.
    I am using xml parser v2 for 8.1.7
    Can anyone explain why it happens? What is the solution?

    Steve,
    We are also creating an XML DOM from java and are having trouble getting the tags created as we want. When we use XMLText it creates the tag as <tagName/>value rather than <tagName>value</tagName>. We want separate open and close tags. Any ideas?
