Problem in validation of Data type

Hello,
I have create a data type where I define elements with maxlength and pattern. But when I want to test a mapping with a wrong message, there is no error.
Why pattern and maxlenght re not use to validate the xml message ?
Thanks
Regards
Chris

Hi Christophe,
XI doesnot do anything with these restrictions. As fas as I know, there isn't an option to turn it on.
What I normally do is test the data in the mapping.
Hopes this helps,

    Hi,
    I have installed new version of sqldeveloper and have discovered some problems with displaying user data types. The data that is described as VARCHAR2 are displayed with ‘???’.
    The problem persist in table view, script output and exported files.
    My type is described as follows:
    create or replace TYPE "DPTY_ADRESA" AS OBJECT

    when make select column from table that contains this type I get next results:

    hi,
    Instead of 'interval day to second' in method declaration use internal datatype 'DSINTERVAL_UNCONSTRAINED'.
    There are more unconstrained types in oracle.

    could any one suggest me that i store maximum data in oracle data type for that which data type i have to use?

    Hi,
    Don't go for BLOB as its suggested to take for Non text files for that data type.
    Try to use CLOB, which will be useful for your requirement.

    I'm am trying to execute the select statement to return The Band Name and contact number only if the person
    is identified as a contact person in the members table.
    It return the following error:

  • Entity Object validation for "Date" type

    I am trying to use the Entity Object validation for a Date field type, it is a required field.
    I am using the format: MM/dd/yy HH:mm:ss
    It is a simple validation where the date value must be less than or equal to the current date/time.
    I tried using "Query Result" validation where the date is LESS THAN the query SELECT SYSDATE FROM dual.
    This throws an error:
    JBO-27011: Attribute set with value 2006-07-09 14:05:53.0 for LksrSurveyDte in LCFSReportService.LeakDetailView1 failed.
    I have be unable to find help on validating dates using validation for an Entity Object and need some help.
    Thanks in advance.

    In your case you can implement a service method in the VO to check if any other reservation overlaps with the new one (which is not inserted in the db).
    I would use a an other VO (e.g. VODateCheck) for this. This VO has it's query build to check if a given roomid and a given startdate(time?) overlaps any other record for the roomid
    select * from ReservationRoom where RoomId=:bindRoomId and ReservationEnd>=:bindReservationStartIf this query returns one or more rows you have an overlapping in the schedule and throw an error.
    You call this VODateCheck from your service method in the other module before inserting the record. Set the bind variables in the VODateCheck and execute the query.

  • Validation while create data type

    HI All ,
    I have a pop-up in my report that user can create data type in  didc,
    There is a simple way to support validation for data types ,
    I have pop-up where the user need  to provide name of attribute
    he need to create and the data type for it (char ,string ,int etc )
    and he also need to provide the leng of the attribute he want to create
    (e.g. char10 ) and also decimal places .
    the issue here that i need to do some validation in the pop-up
    for e.g. if user choose
    case 1
    name     - attribute1
    datatype  - string
    leng   - in this case he dont need to provide leng (string )
    dec - dont need to provide (string )
    case 2
    name     - attribute1
    datatype  - char
    leng   - 10
    dec - dont need to provide (char )
    Any idea how to do this validation in a simple way  (maybe to use standard functionlity)
    Regards
    Alex

    HI Keshav.
    What i did is created a popup with FM in the popup i have 4 field
    the field with the data type which i want to trigger event to it is domain and not ref to FM
    The ppoup have 4 field
    attr name
    datatype
    length
    decimal
    so from what you are say there is not option to trigger event when the user press F4
    and choose a entry from it ,
    since what i want to do is that if user for instance chose string i want that the next to fields (length and dec ) will be
    remove from the popup since he dont need them .
    and for he choose char the the decimal field will remove from the popup
    Any idea how to solve this issue ?

  • Error ORA-01426: numeric overflow when Creating table with double data type

    Hi,
    I am using ODP.NET to create a table with data from SQL to Oracle. The problem is with double data type fields that is equivalent to FLOAT(49) in Oracle. My syntax is:
    CREATE TABLE SCOTT.ALLTYPES
    F1 NUMBER(10),
    F10 DATE,
    F2 NUMBER(10),
    F3 NUMBER(5),
    F4 NUMBER(3),
    F5 FLOAT(23),
    F6 FLOAT(49),
    F7 NUMBER (38,5),
    F8 NVARCHAR2(500),
    F9 NVARCHAR2(500)
    Th error is with field F6 but I am not sure what is the correct type equivalent to double in SQL.
    I woul appreciate if anyone can help me with this problem.
    Sunny

    Does this simple test work for you?
    In database:
    create table float_test
      f1 float(49)
    );C# code:
    using System;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Text;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Client;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Types;
    namespace FloatTest
      /// <summary>
      /// Summary description for Class1.
      /// </summary>
      class Class1
        /// <summary>
        /// The main entry point for the application.
        /// </summary>
        [STAThread]
        static void Main(string[] args)
          // connect to local db using o/s authenticated account
          OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection("User Id=/");
          con.Open();
          // will hold the value to insert
          StringBuilder sbValue = new StringBuilder();
          // create a string of 49 number 9's
          for (int i = 0; i < 49; i++)
            sbValue.Append("9");
          // command object to perform the insert
          OracleCommand cmd = con.CreateCommand();
          cmd.CommandText = "insert into float_test values (:1)";
          // bind variable for the value to be inserted
          OracleParameter p_value = new OracleParameter();
          p_value.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Double;
          p_value.Value = Convert.ToDouble(sbValue.ToString());
          // add parameter to collection
          cmd.Parameters.Add(p_value);
          // execute the insert operation
          cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
          // clean up
          p_value.Dispose();
          cmd.Dispose();
          con.Dispose();
    }SQL*Plus after executing above code:
    SQL> select * from float_test;
            F1
    1.0000E+49
    1 row selected.- Mark

  • JAX-RPC and non-primitive data types

    Hello all!
    I am using JWSDP v1.3 and i have a problem using non-primitive data types as return types for my operations.
    Consider the helloservice example of the JWSDP1.3 tutorial. Now suppose that instead of having the simple operation sayHello() that returns a String, we execute a query on a database, get some ResultSetMetaData and we want these Metadata to be the return type of our operation. I.e. have the operation
    public ResultSetMetaData sayHello()
    instead of the
    public String sayHello()
    of the tutorial.
    When trying to build the service i get the following error which is normal, because ResultSetMetaData is not a supported JAX-RPC type.
    run-wscompile: [echo] Running wscompile: [echo] C:\jwsdp\apache-ant\../jaxrpc/bin/wscompile.bat -define -d build - nd build -classpath build config-interface.xml -model build/model. gz [exec] error: invalid type for JAX-RPC structure: java.sql.ResultSetMetaData [exec] Result: 1
    Is there any way to define an operation like this? Can i specify somehow ResultSetMetaData as a supported-type?
    I hope someone can give me some advice on it, because i have lost one evening trying to figure it out myself :)
    Regards,
    Kostas
