Do you have multiple versions of Java installed? I had a weird problem a
while back with a messed up registry and multiple Java installations.

Hi,
I am having the identical problem, but with BEA Workshop Studio. I've followed the instructions provided to resolve it, but I still get the same error, What am I doing wrong? Below is my variable:
PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin
When I hold down the control button to get the error log it APPEARS to locate the JDK, but at the very end, when it looks for the JRE it is null.

  • Can't start Tomcat after installing Bea WorkShop for JSP

    Hi,
I have been using Eclipse SDK Version: 3.1.2 Build id: M20060118-1600 and Web Tools Project 1.0.2 and Tomcat 5.0 and Tomcat 5.5 for about 2 months with no problems. But now I Can't start Tomcat after installing Bea WorkShop for JSP plug-in. I get "Server Tomcat v5.0 @ localhost failed to start". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I installed BEA Workshop for JSP Version: 3.1.0
Build id: 536. I only wanted to install the plug-in to my existng Eclipse 3.1 / WTP application. The only option that I saw was to download the entire FullWorkshopFreeInstall-536.zip, which is 192,496 KB. During the installation, there is a screen that you can specify to only install the plug-in - and I selected that option. Today, I chose to uninstall the BEA Workshop for JSP and then I was again able to start Tomcat server. I then did a complete install of BEA Workshop for JSP into a totally separate location. My original Eclipse installation still works fine, but my Workshop for JSP Version (which is now a completely new installation) has the same problem with Tomcat that I reported with the plug-in. I am using j2sdk1.4.2_08 and have tried both Tomcat 5.0 and Tomcat 5.5. I have the same problem with both Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • How to uninstall/install again BEA Workshop for JSP

    Hi there,
I've recently changed my Eclipse version and its installation folder.
After this operation, the BEA Workshop plugin was no more visible, so I decided to uninstall and install again the entire plugin. Unfortunately, when the uninstall operation began, the following message occured in a pop-up window :
"The local BEA product registry is corrupted"
Does anybody has a clue about how to solve this problem ?
    (I run a XP Windows including a SP2)
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Fabrice.

    Hi Fabrice,
How did you upgrade the eclipse version? What version of eclipse where you using earlier?
Do you still have the links folder within eclipse home?

NOTE: Workshop is not yet certified on Vista ***but*** during Vista beta testing, the Workshop features worked fine.
You can try the following workaround:
NOTE: Also, we have a few known issue using the latest JDK update (> = 1.4.2_13 or 1.5.0_10). It would be better to try with older version (< 1.5.0_10).
    - Open a DOS "console" to run the Workshop installer
    - set PATH=C:\jdk1.5.0\bin;%PATH%
    - change the directory to the folder containing the installer and run WorkshopInstaller.exe

  • BEA Workshop for WebLogic Platform9.2  can use with weblogic server 9.1?

Wanted to know whether BEA Workshop for WebLogic Platform9.2 can be used with weblogic server 9.1?. If it cannot be used then which ide we need to use to build the j2ee application to deploy on to weblogic server 9.1

    try http://edelivery.oracle.com
accept the licenses and in the next screens
"Select a Product Pack" select Oracle BEA
    and your platform (i.e. Windows)
then select the media pack you want
i.e. "BEA WebLogic Media Pack for Linux x86"
    and voila!
"WebLogic Platform 10.2 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)"
(in the Platform includes WebLogic Server, Workshop for WebLogic, WebLogic Portal and WebLogic Integration)
    ./ydes

  • Bea Workshop for Weblogic10 Platform App. Server

I have configured new server in Workshop according to the instructions. But when I try to start it it gives me the following error :
    Server cannot be started
Server cannot be launched within timeout.

    Ram,
Thanks for your reply. I was creating a WAR file using the Export>J2EE>WAR option.
I've since found out you shouldn't do this for Tomcat from Bea Workshop.
So now I am running the application in exploded mode as you suggested
(ie. 'Run modules directly from the workspace' is checked)
    When I run pages/register.jsp - two things happen :
1-the browser that opens WITHIN Bea Workshop has an exception :
    javax.servlet.ServletException: No faces context?!
(I believe this is because web.xml has *.jsf as the url pattern that maps to the faces servlet, so register.jsp doesn't invoke the faces servlet. But the tutorial hasn't said anything about amending the web.xml servlet mapping.)
2-a separate browser opens OUTSIDE of BEA workshop and the url is "http://localhost:8080/"
    I don't understand what's happening here.
The tutorial should be very reliable, not throw up errors.
If you or anyone else can throw any light on this I'd be grateful.
    Thanks Steve

  • BEA Workshop for SIP Server 3.1

    Hi,
Does anyone know if BEA Workshop 10.3 can be used to develop SIP Applications to be deployed on SIP Server 3.1?
    Thanks in advance
    Jon

As the Product Manager for the Oracle Communications Converged Application server (the former BEA WebLogic SIP server) and the former product manager for the Sailfin (I was PM for the Sailfin product before I left Ericsson to work for BEA) I must say that the Oracle product is absolutely superior, both in terms of quality and design, to any other competing product. I can also say that Oracle is fully behind this technology. Remeber that in the long run the issue is not "cost", but "value". Open source software is generally free for a reason.

  • Problems installing Download! for PC Beta Version ...

I am trying to install Download! for PC beta version 1 onto my PC. But it brings up an error message saying
"Install Nokia PC Suite version 6.82.21 or later before installing Nokia Download!". Then it quits.
However I have PC Suite 6.85.14.1 already installed.
Has anyone else seenthis or am I doing something wrong.

I had the same problem and tried unsuccessfully several times to install this update though the software update. I did download and install in manually, and it worked with no problems. • Problem installing SSL certificate for CPS

I work at a medium-sized University, and we have used
Contribute 3 with CPS1.11 for well over a year. Recently, however,
the Contribute clients began having difficulty logging in to CPS.
At first this was intermittent, but is now constant. Adobe support
suggested replacing the CPS self-signed SSL certificate with a
genuine one, because apparently the self-signed certificate is
    causing communication delays and timeouts.
I have the certificate, and am trying to use keytool (see
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/keytool.html)
to install it, but it is asking me for a keystore password, which I
don't know. Apparently the standard defaults are "changeit" or
"passphrase", but neither of these work.
As a test, I created a fresh install of CPS and attempted to
list the keys in the keystore, but again was asked for a keystore
password and the defaults did not work. Adobe support suggested I
ask here. Anybody have any experience installing a certificate for
    CPS?

Are you sure that the certificate needs to be installed to all users? Can you provide more details about the certificate and its purposes?

    Hi ,

    c:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes102.zip in the CLASSPATH

    $ java utils.t3dbping URL user password DB driver_class driver_URL
    I get error :
Connecting to WebLogic with the WebLogic JDBC Driver
Can't connect with the WebLogic JDBC driver:

with the message 'no weblogicoci36 in java.library.path'.

Could anyone please tell me what java.library.path is and where should I

    weblogicoci36.
    Thanks
    Vishwajeet Lohakarey

java.library.path is Java System variable for seting directories where will java look out for native library modules (DLLs on NT). It is normally unset because DLLs are serached by standard NT algorithm (PATH variable, System dir) too.
weblogicoci36 is native module name of WL JDBC driver for Oracle that Java&NT couldn't find. Coresponding DLL file is in your c:\weblogic\bin\oci815_8 directory.
Problem could be in that if WL is started as NT Service,
    a) PATH variable must be set for System not for User and
    b) this setting don't take effect until NT restart.

  • Problem Installing Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

I am having a problem during the installation with it asking for a Proxy Server and Port Number. In the task bar it says "Connection Failed". The previous screen had asked me if I wanted to register for security updates which I said I did and filled in my email address and password. I am using Norton 360 for my security and disabled the firewall completely but still got same problem. I am not behind a proxy so I'm not sure what may be causing this problem. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I am using the .exe installer. Thanks so much.

    Bob,
At what point do you get prompted for the proxy details? if I'm not mistaken, that is while WLS server is getting installed and it ask you if you want to keep up to date with patches, if so, I believe you can skip this step.
