Problem installing REPORT VIEWER 2012 RUNTIME missing CLR Types
Hello,
I have a win.forms application part of functionality of which is to show rdlc report. When I try to launch the application it says that ReportViewer assembly is missing, which was expected. When I downloaded and try to install viewer runtime from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35747
I receive that Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types are not installed and must be installed first. I downloaded appropriate installation from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29065 and it installed successfully. But when
I try to run viewer runtime installation it still says that Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types are not installed.
What do I miss?
Hi Pvitaliy,
Have you tried Sebastian's suggestion to install the proper version of dacframework.msi package and tsqllanguageservice.msi package? If it doesn't work, the issue might be caused by that the .NET Framework is corrupted or not installed properly. You
can refer to the following blog to check the .NET Framework state by using the .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool:
.NET Framework Setup Verification Tool User's Guide
If possible, I suggest that you remove the .NET Framework and reinstall NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or .NET Framework 4.0.
Hope this helps.

Unable to install Report Viewer 2012
As part of the SCOM console install I need to install Report Viewer 2012. To install Report Viewer 2012 I need to have Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
I have installed all versions of CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 that I can find. But I still am not able to install Report Viewer 2012. It errors out when checking for CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
I have tried every variation of report viewer (2008,2010,20120) and CLR Types for SQL Server (32bit/64bit). I am just not able to install report viewer so I can install the SCOM console.Go to the link below
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35580
and then select SQLSysClrTypes. You don't need all the files.
Did this multiple times with the same result. After installing the ClrTypes the Report Viewer still indicates that it is failing that requirement. -
WSUS 2012 Installing Report Viewer
Hello,
Setting up my first WSUS on a Server 2012 machine. To view a computer status and it through an error stating that I needed to install Microsoft Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable. I downloaded Report viewer then tried to install it and the install
stated I needed .Net 2.0. I know that .Net 3.5 includes 2.0 so I tried to install the feature through server manager. Server manager couldn't find the files. I downloaded 3.5 and tried to install it specifying where the files were and Server Manager
still could not find the installation. I researched other fixes on line and found there is a Report Viewer 2012. I downloaded it then tried to install it and it stated it needed Microsoft System CLR types for SQL server 2012. I
don't have nor do I need Microsoft SQL server and would like to avoid installing it if it is not necessary. So I looked into some other things people have done to fix this issue and came across a fix where I has to use Power Shell to run a command
on the ISO image to enable the 3.5 feature. This didn't work either. So what do I need to do to get this going?Hi,
Pls make sure that the .net 3.5 has been installed thru the adding feature wizard, and then install the Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable. If possible, restart your server and try it again.
After that, make sure Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable has been installed.

Clarence

Report Viewer 2012 Word Render Margin Problem
Hi all,
I am developing a asp.net web application /w visual studio 2012. I have created some reports with report viewer, and I would like to export those reports to pdf and MS Word format. The pdf output is same as I expected, but the word output is
missing top and bottom margin, it leads we cannot print the header and footer correctly in MS Word, also the repeat header on each page property didn't work too.
If I use report builder 3.0 and try to export the reports to pdf and MS Word format, the problem still exists.
Is anyone has the solution for this issue?
I think its related to sql server reporting services, please let me know if I posted at wrong category.
Thanks,
hkHi hkcheung,
According to your description, you have issues when exporting the report into Microsoft Word file. The margin of header and footer can't be displayed. And the RepeatOnNewPage property is not working. Right?
In Reporting Services, when we export the report into Word file, it will ignore page header and footer height settings. Also Word does not repeat header rows on page two and greater, although you set the
RepeatOnNewPage property of the static header row in a tablix (table, matrix, or list) to
True. For more information, please see the limitations in the link below:
Exporting to Microsoft Word (Report Builder and SSRS)

Problem installing ActiveX viewer in Windows 7
Hello,
We downloaded the public beta of Windows 7 today and I am getting an error in our web application when it tries to install the Crystal Reports XI ActiveX report viewer (version 11.0.0.1424 of crviewer.dll). IE8 will issue its normal prompt to ask you if you want to install the control, but after that, the little object image in the upper-left corner of the page turns to a red X.
I tried using the sample code which comes with Crystal XI (SimplePreviewReport.asp in the "BeginHere" folder) and that had the same problem. I put some debug code into SmartViewerActiveX.asp and found that I was getting an "ActiveX component can't create object" error on this line:
Set webBroker = CreateObject("CrystalReports11.WebReportBroker.1")
I don't think it's a security issue because I am an administrator on the machine and I didn't have any problems installing other ActiveX controls. I tried running the web site in both the Local Intranet zone as well as the Trusted Sites zone. I'm also thinking that the issue is more with Windows 7 than IE8 because I have IE8 Beta 2 installed on a Windows XP machine and the Crystal ActiveX viewer installs just fine there.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!XI R2 is more then an incremental update in some aspects to XI R1. They are officially versioned 11 and 11.5 and XI R2 is considered a new release. However in most aspects to a Crystal R1 customer XI R2 doesn't offer much more in functionality other than it is more up-to-date and is still receiving updates and patches.
With out looking at Operating Systems or other factors I generally recommend R1 customers move to R2 so they are kept up-to-date. However being an new version that does mean you will need to update your projects to call the R2 runtime, and then you can use the R2 merge modules.
As for how R2 merge modules work with Windows 7 I cannot say. We will have to wait until Windows 7 final build comes out before we will get a list of supported products on this Operating System, and this can take upwards of 3 months after the OS is released. I would hazard a guess (NOTE: GUESS is the important word here) that R1 and R2 will not be certified with Windows 7. This does not mean it will not work, but does mean it will not be tested and if errors are found that are particular to this OS they will not be fixed.
Remember that this is just a guess, based on R2 being 3 years old and nearing end of its patch cycle and Windows 7 being at least 4 months away. However this cannot be concidered an official statement it is just my personal opinion. Enough caveats there?

Add columns in DataGridView And display it in the report Viewer at RunTime
Hello Everyone , this is my first participation here, I am civil Engineer and I have a Question
I created dataGridViewer connected to a database , when I change the records and reopen the application the changed are saved However , I let the user to add/delete columns during the runtime (by using sql command) ,even though those columns are saved and
appear at datagridviewer
The reported Viewer (which i designed using wizard) is not showing these columns
what should i do , I have been trying to solve this for a week ! could it be a year ? !
I am using c# visual studio 2012Hi Azzam,
According to your description, you want to display changed columns in ReportViewer control. Right?
In Reporting Services, when we retrieve the data, the query or stored procedure will only execute one time. So during runtime, the data in a report will not change. So we can't display the changed columns in report during runtime. However, we can set the
Auto-refresh properties for report so that the report can refresh every X seconds. This is the most effective workaround. Please refer to links below:
SSRS report auto refresh
Automatically refreshing your SQL Reporting Services reports with the AutoRefresh element
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Problem Installing SQL Server 2012 Express
Hello
I'm in the process of installing SQL Server 2012 and the install is continually failing. It reports to possibly be a problem with the package; I've tried downloading three times now and setup has failed each time. There is a link below to the install log
file which I believe will likely be more help than my attempting to describe the symptoms but please let me know if there is any additional information which would help in finding the problem.
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=9ACB131B26E0E088!514&authkey=!ABuTadbr92UTFpo
Thanks in advance.Hello,
“Error Code: 29559
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 29559”
Let’s try to work around the issue on a different way. Please try to download the following Evaluation Copy of SQL Server 2012, run setup, and on the “Product Key” page select
Express Edition (on the “Specify a free edition” combo box).
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29066
Do you have another instance of SQL Server installed?
Hope this helps.

Hi
I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
Please see the Code sample below.
private sub loadReport()
Dim r as New ReportDocument
'v is the name of the Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control
r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")
v.ReportSource(r) <---It throw error on this line.
End Sub
Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
Thanks in advances.
Many thanks
ChiVS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

Crystal Reports Viewer Toolbar Images missing
I have Crystal Reports XI R2 installed on a windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise server and when a when I browse to my asp.net page withe the crystal reports viewer I get the red x's for the toolbar images. The viewer and web.config entries all reference the 11.5.3700.0. When I view the source of the page the source is "../aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/crystalreportviewers115". At first the crystalreportviewers115 was not in subfolder at my sites root aspnet_client folder and so I copied it there. But it still doesn't work.
What seems odd is that we I was using the embedded version from VS 2008 (10.5.3700.0) the view source of the page showed the image path as "/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/CrystalReportWebFormViewer4" and this worked fine but when I use XI R2 (11.5.3700.0) the path is "../aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/crystalreportviewers115" so where and why is there ".." for the XI R2 version.CR 11.5 is not supported on WIn 2008 server. See [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567] wiki.
You may also want to take a look at the article [Viewer toolbar images appear as red u2018X on Crystal Reports VS .NET web viewer|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50aa68c0-82dd-2b10-42bf-e5502b45cd3a]. It may help, but if not, you'll have to move on to a supported version of CR.

Crystal Reports Viewer XI R2 Missing icons on toolbar when displayed
I am using Crystal Reports Viewer XI R2 on Windows 2003 Server and trying to deploy to a different server.
I have deployed a new web site from a development server to production. The crystal reports render correctly, but the only problem is that the icons for the viewer show "X". I have tried the following:
Copy the aspnet_client folder (c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client) and all of itu2019s subfolders to the physical root directory of the custom web site.
If the above does not help, ensure that this is in the web.config of the application:
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="GET" path="CrystalImageHandler.aspx" type="CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalImageHandler, CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=11.5.3700.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/>
</httpHandlers>
Still see "X" in the view tool bar.

Your IIS logs show that the web server can't find the toolbar gif files. The first thing I'd do here is browse to this location using your IIS Manager. Find the next.gif file and right click it and select Browse. This will take your application out of the picture and will tell you if you can see this gif file on its own as processed by IIS.
If that doesn't work you likely have a permissions issue. Look at the security on the toolbar directory and see if the ASPNET or Network Service account have rights to read that directory. Also make sure the group IIS_WPG has access here too. You might even want to run the IIS Managers permissions wizard to clean up file permissions here.
Another thing you could try is creating a Virtual Directory that points to the original aspnet_client directory under C:\inetpub\wwwroot.
Hopefully that helps. Good luck! -
How can I get the View Tab name on the Crystal Report Viewer at runtime?
When a report is displayed in the Windows Forms Crystal Report Viewer and the user drills into the report, the drill down view is displayed in a seperate view and is identified via a View tab at the top of the report. I can determine the index of the view tab that is currently selected, but I need to access the text that is on the View tab. The only properties that I've found that pertain to the "view" on the Crystal Report viewer are the ActiveViewIndex and the ViewCount. Unfortunately, neither of these items help me because they are not specific to a certain section of the report. Has anyone had any luck accessing the View Tab properties ? Thanks.
The tabs at the top of the page are nested within some of the viewers controls. Through trial and error you just have to find the right one. In this case the main part of the report is in the first control. This happens to be a TabControl. From there you can loop through the TabPages on the TabControl to grab the names of the tabs.
Here is a quick example of what I did to get the tab text. All this code was in a button click event.
Control oControl = crystalReportViewer1.Controls[0];
TabControl oTabControl = (TabControl)oControl.Controls[0];
foreach (TabPage oTabPage in oTabControl.TabPages)

programs on this laptop but when I try to install VS 2012, I get the following error message:
"This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object."
Any idea why this is happening?Hi,
You must have administrator credentials to install Visual Studio. However, you do not have to have these credentials to use Visual Studio after it is installed.
More information you can refer to:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e2h7fzkw(v=vs.110).aspx
Please install the Visual Studio 2012 as the administrator.
Best regards,

Visual Studio 2012 + Report Viewer 2012 Word Render Margin Problem
Hi all,
I am developing a asp.net web application /w visual studio 2012. I have created some reports with report viwer, and I would like to export those reports to pdf and word format. The pdf output is same as I expected, but the word output is missing
top and bottom margin, it leads we cannot print the header and footer correctly in word, also the repeat header on each page property didn't work too.
Is anyone has the solution for this issue?
Thanks,
hkHello,
Welcome to MSDN forum.
Your issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System

Because you are working with ASP.NET Web Application, I suggest that you can consult your issue on ASP.NET forum:
