Hi Community!

I have created a Web App!
I already added a splash screen tag for retina displays but nothing appears.
Could please somebody check the source code and tell me what i have done wrong?

It's a google maps app setting. I agree, it is highly annoying and I have no idea why they put that setting into the app without the option to change it. I did a 600 mile trip with google maps and the auto screen dimming feature was awful.

How to display different Splash Screen depending on the Locale?

Hi,
I have a splash screen which is working fine.
I want to display different spalsh screen depending on the locale the user has.
Is this possible.
I can display different Title,Description and the text of the short-cut icon on desktop and startup Menu based on the locale by mentioning it in the JNLP and altering my browser settings. I am not able to use the icon and splash screen corresponding to the specified locale. How to do this?

Launch a splash screen when an iPhone app starts

Hi, I am trying to make a simple game for the iPhone, and when the app launches, I want a splash screen with instructions to come up. I also want the user to be able to push anywhere on the screen to dismiss it. However, the splash screen doesn't load! I made a new nib file with the splash screen, created a view controller, and a UIView subclass for the screen. Then, I inserted this code into the applicationDidFinishLaunching method of the app delegate:

I forgot to mention, in interface builder, I made the splash view's class as SplashView, and the File's Owner as the SplashViewController. Also, splashViewIsCurrentView is a boolean I made.

I like the idea behind your use of "splashViewIsCurrentView". I think that may solve my problem.
I too have a full-screen instruction view pop up over the main input view of the app. The instruction view is added as a subview of the main input view. I want to dismiss the instruction view with a touch. However, in the instruction view view controller, the touch even methods are not fired - even after twiddling with enabling user interaction on the instruction view and its subviews of label and fiddling with their frame sizes. While the instruction view is displayed over the main input view, the touch events are actually still associated with the main input view (and its controls) underneath. Seems like I am forgetting something but i don't know what.
Your solution will probably work well and it is similar to what I was originally doing in handling the touch events in the main input view view controller. However, technically, it seems kludgy to not be able to handle the touch events in the instruction view view controller where it seems to make more sense to do so.
Would you or anyone else know why or have any suggestions on things to look out for? The view and controls involved are all supposed to be descendants of UIResponder. Is there a bug or restriction I'm not aware of? Wondering why you went the route you did. Seems like you may have run up against what I am currently facing.

Problem Installing my new graphic card 760GTX Stucks on HP Splash Screen

I'm using a h9-1185 Windows 7 and I thought I'd update my graphic card from a 7870 to GTX 760 but that was easier said than done. When I try to boot my computer with the new card it stays at the hp splash screen. The GPU is correctly installed I have both cables connected to the PSU. The fans are running properly It's just that I get stuck on the loading screen when I use the gtx 760. I can't press any keys to go to the boot menu, etc. After sitting at the screen for 5 minutes it changes to a black sreen showing at the corner the brand of my Graphic Card (760 PNY etc....) but nothing happens.
When I changed it back to the old graphic card Sapphire 7870, it didn't freeze or anything. It worked fine. I was trying to update my BIOS but I think i have the latest update (v7.09).
Maybe my english isn't good at all, sorry about that.

Did you install the latest driver for the new video card? This must be done for it to work properly.
Also, when you have the new card and driver installed, I suggest clearing the CMOS:
This motherboard has a jumper to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS.
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Move the jumper to clear for 5 to 10 secs, then move the jumper back to default.
Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
On the next startup, enter BIOS setup to re-enter user settings.

Condition: my iPhone is less than 2 mos old.
Question: Totally aware that the warranty excludes damages due to accidents etc. but its freakin a month and a half old! Could it be repaired free of charge or for a cheaper cost? or replaced?!

What does its age have to do with being broken?
What is the difference between breaking a new iphone vs and old one? You broke it.
You can look for a third party repair facility (voids the warranty) to see if they are cheaper.
Apple will charge $199 in the U.S.

IPhone 3G screen problem? Potentially?

I dont know if this is an issue or not, but I've just noticed this.
My iPhone's screen appears to have a border runnign around it of two or three blank pixels. It runs right the way around the edge of the screen. The main image the screen projects shows in full but appears a touch squashed.
I've reboot and hard reset the phone, but no improvement. I've looked in the settings menu but there is nothing for screen/image size.
I havent dropped it and there is no water damage. I noticed the screen didnt look right just after i finished a phone call.
Any suggestions?

so is this a problem? perhaps its such a common one that most people think its normal. i've just got my iphone 3G and i'm pretty certain that it didnt have the border when i just took it out of the box, and today that little border appeared! it is really quite noticeable. ive also tried searching for pictures of the iphone to verify its normality and even on the apple website, under the iphone tab, half of the pictures have it and the others dont. for example, take a close look at the introduction to the compass feature on the 3gs, the screenshot showing the compass has the border but the screenshot with the maps doesnt have it!

Problem with displaying a splash screen twice

I have a splash screen that displays while I am reading data from the recordstore, I use the same sceen when I am writing data back to the record store when the application exits.
The problem I am having is that the screen never appears the second time, I have tried to set it to null and then instantiate it again but it still does not appear. Can someone please give me some adivse as to why this might be happening. I am pretty sure it is some kind of race condition with the threads but I just cant seem to solve it. I am placing snipits of code below.

I cannot seem to figure out how to make the thread for the splash overtake the UI thread in the destroyApp(), does anybody have any ideas.

EDT, which will prevent painting until loading finishes

When there is unauthorized modifications on the iPhone Apple doesnt replace the product. Unfortunately you will need to get a new iPhone!
If you could have contacted Apple when you broke your screen you would be eligible to get a replacement after paying the Out of Warranty service fee.

Did you recently updated to 7.0.4? Even for me same also issues.

Recently my iPhone 5 started rebooting to a messed up screen that would flash and show different bars and colors. I would either have to wait a bit to restart it and fix it. But now, it got to the point where I can't even get past the Apple splash screen

My iphone 5 was working fine until it recently started to reboot to a messed up splash screen that would flash and have bars across it. When this happened, I couldn't do anything and had to restart it. I was able to start up the phone sometimes, until just recently. Everytime I started up the phone, it would load up the splash screen and then become distorted, flashy, and sometimes colorful and I could not use my phone. To try and fix this, I put it into recovery mode to do a factory restore, but iTunes can't even restore my phone. I even tried DFU mode.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check this support document for SIM issues http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148. No one here is Apple, we are users like you. We can only recommend you try Apple again, unless you are close to an Apple store and can make an appointment to go in there.

HT4528 BIOS text on splash screen of iphone 4s?

I tried restoring my iphone 4S and got this weird BIOS text coming up on the apple splash screen and can't find any solutions to it. Any ideas on what I can do? I've tried a hard reset and DFU mode. I think I've tried everything short of hitting on my desk or throwing at a wall. Suggestions and ideas are welcome! Thanks!

Problem with the splash screen

Hi,
since a week the splash screen (the "about box" with version of ps etc.) of photoshop cs5 extended is at the wrong position. Normally this one is in the middle of my screen, but now it is on the top. The splash screens of Indesign and Illustrator (and the other ones) are at the correct position.
I started photoshop with the combination "Ctrl + Alt + Shift" to reset all settings of it. Nothing happens, still the same.
It's not a critical problem, because photoshop works without an error, but it doesn't look nice.

For me the Photoshop splash screen is centered on my primary monitor (of two).
"Spanning" refers to making a single virtual display out of multiple monitors. Some games and specialized applications need this to put their displays on multiple screens (Photoshop does not). Since you have only one monitor, my question is not pertinent.
I can only suggest, since what you're reporting almost has to be due to a failure in the reporting of the desktop metrics, that perhaps a video driver update (from the web site of the maker of your video card) might help.
A shot in the dark: You don't use a desktop "reskinning" application called StarDock WindowBlinds do you?
