Problem is releasing excel application from memory using webutil
Hi Experts,
This code is working fine but it is not releasing the excel from the memory. if i try the same set of code with Wort.Applicationa or Access.Application it works fine. But only with excel it is not working.
Is there is any way to kill the excel application?
application := CLIENT_OLE2.create_obj('Excel.Application');
CLIENT_OLE2.invoke(application,'Quit');
CLIENT_OLE2.release_obj(application);
Thanks & Regards
Rajesh
This is probably <Bug:3082119 which is fixed in the production release.

Problems in triggering webdynpro application from Workflow using SWFVISU
Hi everybody,
We have created a webdynpro application which we are linking to our task using transaction SWFVISU .
The method for the task is WEBSERVICE-DISPLAY.
SWFVISU has been configured with parameters :
application name : ZXXXXXXXXXXXXX
and namespace : sap.
When i create a workitem in the UWL , and click on it, i get a dump with the following description : 'Exception condition "URL_CREATION_FAILURE" raised.'
Now the strange thing is that if i use a standard SAP Webdynpro application , this works properly.
Could anybody advise us on whether we are missing something ?
Thanks,
JoeHi Raja,
Thank you for your reply.
I tried changing the method but it still throws the same error. i dont think this error is related to the Task method , since it can also be a dummy method (as is the case with the leave approval workflow 12300111) .
Any other helpful suggestions ??
Thanks,
Joe -
Data read from Memory use - ranked list
Dear Experts,
I am trying to read data from memory use -ranked list.
In general we use function pool to read the data but in case if we should read the data from a class can we do it.
{O:267}-IF_PT_HRS_D_IF~IM_CONTRACT_TES[1]-TES
in the above class in TES table we have data , we have to read data from TES .
In memory use ranked list it is like below
{O:451*\CLASS=CL_PT_HRS_IF}
Object
Regards,
Kartheek.Philip
This one is really tricky. Display value just shows the rank but it would hold the actual value when you try to do calculations.
We have had similar problem but it was not related to ranking.
One Simple approach could be
Make them use Wrokbooks and do this calculation by using a SUM formula in Excel. Excel will consider whta is being displayed as a value for that cell
One far complicated solution is you can use the Olympic ranks and Do your sum in a Macro.
What I mean is if you get the last rank to be 10 then you can write your program to do the sum as
1098765432+1.
This approach could be taken only if they are OK with Olympic ranking.

Ole excel application from abap
Hi all ,
I an calling one excel application from abap . I don't want to make excel file visible , but insted want to save and close the file , by using method
saveas for excel application and later i want to see the file . file name i want to store in a variable .
eg :
CALL METHOD OF H_EXCEL 'FILESAVEAS' = RC
EXPORTING #1 = filename .
Can it be possible ?
regards,
SAhi
i simpler method will be to use the function modules for this purpose.
CALL FUNCTION 'F4_FILENAME'
EXPORTING
PROGRAM_NAME = SYST-CPROG
DYNPRO_NUMBER = SYST-DYNNR
FIELD_NAME = ' '
IMPORTING
file_name = file_name .
lc_filename = file_name.
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
EXPORTING
BIN_FILESIZE =
filename = lc_filename
filetype = 'DAT'
TABLES
data_tab = gt_itab.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
Fn module F4_filename will prompt for the name of the file to be saved and GUI_DOWNLOAD will save the file.
gt_itab is the internal table containing the data to be stored in excel. -

Flex Can Not Unload Applications From Memory! QED
Hi,
at work we are trying to load and unload Flex Applications from a long standing shell application. We have studied the appropriate documentation, especially this
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/loading_applications.pdf
but we have found that Flex simply will nor release memory once used, no matter how simple the flex application. I have put a couple of posts on my blog about it
http://www.dz015.com/?p=139
http://www.dz015.com/?p=166
In particular the second post seems to highlight what I would consider to be a bug.
What do other people think.
Has anybody out there successfully loaded and unloaded flex applications from within a shell application over a long period of time?
ConradStyles can pin an application or module in memory in 3.x versions of Flex but this has been fixed in Flex 4. There are other things that can cause memory leaks. Probably the easiest one to run into, especially with a shell application, are leaks caused by resource bundles.
If a sub-application or module uses components that use ResourceBundles that are not used by the main application, those resource bundles will get registered with the ResourceManager and pin the first instance of the application or module. You can use the -compiler.keep-generated-actionscript compiler option to see which resource bundles the module and main application are using. The resource bundles are listed in the "compiledResourceBundleNames" object of the info() function. You can force the main application to have those additional resource bundles by adding the resource bundle metadata to the main application. For example, to add the "controls" resource bundle, you would add to the main application MXML file: <mx:Metadata>[ResourceBundle("controls")]</mx:Metadata> If you are loading your resource bundles as modules, make sure the resource modules have completed loading before loading the module that is being pinned.
More information about leaks is available here: http://blogs.adobe.com/aharui/2009/08/what_we_know_about_unloading_m.html

PROBLEM Creating a Sample Application from Uploaded Data - ENDECA 3.1
Good morning.
I'm installing OEID 3.1 and y have many problems.
One is when i want to créate a Sample Application from Uploaded Data following "InfoDiscGettingStarted.pdf"
I have the next error message:
"Task execution failed for workflow ID 1. Task execution failes for workflow ID 1."
Does anyone know which is due to this error?
Thank you very much.
Pd: Excuse me for my englishBINGO !
works like a charm
I used this at compReady. Loads all the animated thumbnails with image, jersey number and full name.
$.getJSON('images/profiles.json', function(json)
sym.getComposition().getStage().setVariable('data', eval(json));
var data = sym.getComposition().getStage().getVariable('data');
for ( i = 1 ; i < 17; i++){
sym.getSymbol("thumb"+[i]).$("thumb1").css("background-image","url("+data.player[i].thumb +")");
sym.getSymbol("thumb"+[i]).$("j_num").html(data.player[i].j_num);
sym.getSymbol("thumb"+[i]).$("p_name").html((data.player[i].f_name)+"<br>"+(data.player[i ].l_name));
sym.$("Stage").css({"margin-left":"auto","margin-right":"auto"});
and this on all the "display on click" profile sheets. Right now just gets the larger player pic but will get all the other "fields" also when complete
var i = 1 // this var identifies the player
var data = sym.getComposition().getStage().getVariable('data');
sym.$("player_image").css("background-image","url("+data.player[i].image+")");
sym.play("profile" + [i]);
Works perfect. Now I just have to add all the other fields to the profile sheets and presto...
thanks again

Call Web Applications from Xcelsius using LiveOffice connections
Hi,
I have read the HTG: "How To... Call BEx Web Applications from SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards (Xcelsius) and vice versa" here on SDN. Problem is that it is using BW Connection as connection.
Is it be possible to call web applications using Live Office connections?
Br,
SonniHi Sonni,
If you are building dashboard using live office connection and you want to give a drill down to detailed webi or crystal report, you can use Open document interface. In the particular HTG you have mentioned, Open document approach is not possible because dashboard is based on SAP BW. Since you are using live office, i guess you have the source report published in BOE and you can use open document approach here.
If this is not your requirement please mention your exact requirement.
Hope it helps you.

Calling a FLEX application from html, using parameters
Hi guys,
I have this html:
<form name="getTracing" method="POST" action="http://syyzas400/ShipmentInquiry/ShipmentDetails.html">
QuickTrace
<input type="text" name="TrackNbr" size="14" tabindex="1" maxlength="11">
<br>
Carrier
<select name="Carrier" tabindex="2" style="background-color: #D8E4FF; color: black;
font-family: Arial; font-weight: bold; font-size: 9pt; width=114">
<option>Option1
<option>Option2
<option>Option3
</select>
As you can notice, there is an Input field ("TrackNbr") and a selection field ("Carrier") with three options... The user enters a Tracking Nbr.
in first field and chooses one of the three options from the second field and hits <enter>. In this moment, as you can see from "action" area, an html (part of a FLEX application) is called. The problem is that the parameters ("TrackNbr" and "Carrier") are not transmitted and I don't know how to do that.
This FLEX application accepts parameters using URL fragments technique (because could be called from another FLEX application, too)
but obviously this cannot work with the above described form.
I read about External Interface class, but everybody is talking about calling ActionScript functions, not FLEX applications. Being a newbie in this area,
I am sure I am missing something, but what?
Any help would be very appreciated, as usual...
FlorinProblem solved.
I got rid of the form tag (and "action", obviously); instead, I created a JavaScript function used for onClick event of the submit button. Inside this function, I captured the values (using getElementById method) of the input and select field and, using these values, I created the URL for my FLEX application (used with location.href property), and BAM! Everything works like a charm... I am even able to use the Back button to exit the FLEX app and return to the selection screen.
Now my question is, why does it work??? No complaints at all, just curiosity... I didn't use External Interface class, no exposed ActionScript functions prior calling frm JavaScript, no fancy stuff all sites I saw talking about...
Grizz..., I have a feeling that what you described above is a simpler and more advanced way to do about the same thing I did; am I right?
Thanks,
Florin -
Printing Excel Instance from InfoView using Excel 2003
Hi
I have problem with printing Excel instance within InfoView. We are using Active X as viewer - but when user schedules report in Excel and when it opens that instance - it opens in Web Excel viewer within InfoView. At that point there is no standard menu if user uses Office 2003 or actually Excel 2003 on its own machine so user cannot print instance. Can anybody help with this. If you try to open instance on machine that has Office 2007 there are no problems since instance gets open in full Excel.
ThanksWhat version of Crystal Reports are you using? Any service packs or hot fixes installed?
Can you open other xls files with 2007?
Have you ever exported to excel before?
I export to -excel (97-2003) data only- and open the files with Excel 2007 with no problems. Excel 2007 complains about the old format (xls) and wants to convert it to the new excel format. I alsways ignor it.
Maybe the 'garbage' you are seeing is because the layout of your crystal report is not working for the export. Is all the data there but you have extra cells and/or lines, or the data is pushed to the left? I find that I must have the fields packed tightly with no space between them and no space above or below the fields, or I get extra cells between and lines above or below them.
Most of my exports are detail lines with a single line header and columns are set to match the detail line. When exporting multiple lines where the fields do not line up exactly with the ones above them, I may use one or more empty text fields that matches the size of the fields above them to fill the empty space. Sort of like:
line 1:{field1.}{field2...}{field 3}
line 2:(text...}{text.....}{field 4)
And you may need to turn off 'can grow' on all fields as they may cause miss-alignment. All the data will be there when you export it, even what you can not see in Crystal. You will just need to format the cells in Excel to see it.

Problems while migrating PDK applications from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3
Hi All,
I am facing a problem while migrating a PDK application from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3.
Since Portal 7.3 doesnt support PAR files any more it provided with a tool to convert the PAR to an EAR file and deploy the resultant EAR to the new portal.
I converted the PAR into EAR and deployed the file but the application is not executing. When I looked into the log files i found the following exception. The application is not able to identify the tag "documentBody". I checked the protalapp.xml and the "SharingReference" is properly maintained in the file but the error message suggests that its not able to fine the reference to the tagLib uri maintained in the portalapp.xml
Now my question is why is it not able to obtain a reference to the taglib? Did any one face similar problem previously. Can you please provide me with any document for migrating / developing PDK application for Portal 7.3

PKHi Amit,
Thanks for your reply. I could see some progress after "thoroughly" going through those links. Thanks a lot (gave points too )
Now I am facing another problem. The application did deploy successfully but with a warning. When i checked the warning it says that the deployment was successful but can not be started.
The log file has the following error message.

I dont understand why is SAPPORTAL/com.sapportals.htmlb is not available. As per my understanding it is some thing that should be available with the portal server by default.
Any hints from any one?

How to execute Excel Marco from SAP using Office Integration Classes
Is there a way to trigger Excel Macro from SAP? I tried using method CALL METHOD document->execute_macro
of i_oi_document_proxy but it does not work.
Thanks
VivekTry this:
If you are using OLE to populate the Excel Sheet then, then yes you can run a macro.
CALL METHOD OF OBJ_EX_APP 'Run'
EXPORTING #1 = MACROSTR.
Adding a Field Exit
To add a field exit first find the data element that is linked to the screen field- the screen number and program
Run program RSMODPRF. You will need to create two function modules one FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR and
FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR_A
FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR should have code simply of input = ouput.
FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR_A should have the code for whatever the functionality is required
Go back to RSMODPRF and run the program without parameters. Use the push buttons to assign the screen, 'A' and program. Use the drop down to activate the field list.
This should now work, but there is no way of debugging. For further information look at OSS 29377
program zzdirlist.
for AIX this method also works.

Calling a Console Application from SSIS (using ProcessTask)
Hi,
I have an SSIS Package which calls a Console Application(which is used as a wrapper to call a Web Service).
If there is an error calling the Web Service e.g. creating or updating a record failed, I want to return the error details to SSIS.
How can I return the error details from the Console Application to SSIS and read these in SSIS so I can log the details?
Thanks,
C.
CGHello,
Console apps support only
Environment.ExitCode Property as feedback,
you can not pass additional informations back to the caller. Why don't you implement it as a Script Task or as an assembly and use this in a Script Task?
