Printing Excel Instance from InfoView using Excel 2003

Hi
I have problem with printing Excel instance within InfoView. We are using Active X as viewer - but when user schedules report in Excel and when it opens that instance - it opens in Web Excel viewer within InfoView. At that point there is no standard menu if user uses Office 2003 or actually Excel 2003 on its own machine so user cannot print instance. Can anybody help with this. If you try to open instance on machine that has Office 2007 there are no problems since instance gets open in full Excel.
Thanks

What version of Crystal Reports are you using?  Any service packs or hot fixes installed?
Can you open other xls files with 2007?
Have you ever exported to excel before?
I export to -excel (97-2003) data only- and open the files with Excel 2007 with no problems. Excel 2007 complains about the old format (xls) and wants to convert it to the new excel format. I alsways ignor it.
Maybe the 'garbage' you are seeing is because the layout of your crystal report is not working for the export. Is all the data there but you have extra cells and/or lines, or the data is pushed to the left? I find that I must have the fields packed tightly with no space between them and no space above or below the fields, or I get extra cells between and lines above or below them.
Most of my exports are detail lines with a single line header and columns are set to match the detail line. When exporting multiple lines where the fields do not line up exactly with the ones above them, I may use one or more empty text fields that matches the size of the fields above them to fill the empty space. Sort of like:
line 1:{field1.}{field2...}{field 3}
line 2:(text...}{text.....}{field 4)
And you may need to turn off 'can grow' on all fields as they may cause miss-alignment. All the data will be there when you export it, even what you can not see in Crystal. You will just need to format the cells in Excel to see it.

  • Print or export from infoview

    I'm looking for i think a simple solution.  Our users can't seem to print or export from infoview.  The only work around that I'm aware of is setting thier security settings in I.E to medium-low.  Then they are able to do so.  However, our clients are bank's and I need a solution rather than telling them to lower thier securuty settings.  Any ideas?

    go here an search for 1202093 for the KB article
    https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/notes
    In summary, the print drivers need to be installed.  Logon to the machine with an administrator ID.  Open InfoView.  Run then print a report (this will install the DLLs).  Logon as non-admin to test.

  • How to execute Excel Marco from SAP using Office Integration Classes

    Is there a way to trigger Excel Macro from SAP? I tried using method CALL METHOD document->execute_macro

    Try this:
    If you are using OLE to populate the Excel Sheet then, then yes you can run a macro.
      CALL METHOD OF OBJ_EX_APP 'Run'
           EXPORTING #1 = MACROSTR.
    Adding a Field Exit
    To add a field exit first find the data element that is linked to the screen field- the screen number and program
    Run program RSMODPRF. You will need to create two function modules one FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR and
    FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR_A
    FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR should have code simply of input = ouput.
    FIELD_EXIT_MEPO_VENDOR_A should have the code for whatever the functionality is required
    Go back to RSMODPRF and run the program without parameters. Use the push buttons to assign the screen, 'A' and program. Use the drop down to activate the field list.
    This should now work, but there is no way of debugging. For further information look at OSS 29377
    program zzdirlist.
    for AIX this method also works.

  • Exporting to excel..error in using excel easy table.vi

    Hi...
    Am using excel easy table.vi to export my data to excel.....it contains a date field...When exported to excel,the date and month is getting interchenged.
    ie,05/03/2008 is converted as 03/05/2008...What is the work around for this?
    i read in one of the posts that  have to format the date filed using  Excel Set cell Format.vi..I tried wth that ,but so far cudnt fix...i tried wth using @ in the number format..then i was getting a string instead of datetime.When used%d/%m/%Y..then i was getting error.
    If i can use that,how do i.
    My datetime filed is the first column in the 2D array.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
    Excel handles date and time as a floating point decimal representation.  The integral value (to the left of the decimal) represents the number of days since the beginning of the 20th century.  The decimal value represents the time of day from midnight in seconds divided by 86,400 (i.e. 6:00:00PM = 0.75).
    Excel chooses the default regional date format (i.e. MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, etc.) based on your current location setting.  You can manually change the format of a particular cell by right clicking on any cell and selecting 'Format Cells', then selecting 'Date', and finally changing the 'Locale (location)' to the desired format.  This allows you to format the date however you'd like.
    Unfortunately, Microsoft Excel does not have a text function to programatically change the 'Locale (location)' setting for a cell.  This means that if you need to send a date through the Report Generation Toolkit that is in a format different from the current location setting, you will need to convert the date representation to text.  This will change the way Excel handles the cell data from the date format mentioned above to a simple text sting.  For example, if you're trying to convert the date '12/24/2008' in cell A1 into '24/12/2008', you can use the following code:
    =TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy")
    If you try to keep the cell formatted as a date, Excel will interpret '24' as a month and '12' as a date, which results in an incorrect date.  There is no easy way to programatically convert this text string back into a date without manually changing the date format of the cell.

  • Printing Purchase Order from ME9F using custom program and smartform

    I was able to use my custom program which calls a smartform to print purchase orders from transaction ME9F. I did this using transaction NACE.
    However, when I call "Output Message" from ME9F, the output always fails (shown by an 'X' icon after the checkbox). When I try to put back the standard program in NACE, it does not show an 'X' but a check which indicates that the printing was successful.
    Do you know why this happens? What did I miss?

    USER_SETTINGS = SPACE
    IS_NAST = NAST
    IS_REPEAT = REPEAT
    I tried to trace it to the function module generated by smartform. The error propagates this way: From the function module, there is a call to function SSFCOMP_PROCESS_DOCUMENT. Then inside that function, there is a perform operation to tr_ssfcomp_process_doc
    perform tr_ssfcomp_process_doc using startpage docstruc
                                           header.
    Inside that form, it calls the macro tr_active which checks the value of ssfcstat-trlevel (tracelevel) against c_trlevel_document. In the macro, if ssfcstat-trlevel is less than c_trlevel_document, the smartform will fail. c_trlevel_document is 15 and ssfcstat-trlevel is 0, and so the smartform fails.
    (you can see the macro tr_active in include LSTXBCMAC and the form tr_ssfcomp_process_doc is in the include LSTXBCFTR)
    When I do not put values in CONTROL_PARAMETERS and OUTPUT_OPTIONS, everything is ok.
    Do you know why this happens?
    Thanks in advance!
    Edit: I have found out about transaction SFTRACE, but this is disabled.

  • Automatically create new Excel file from template using data from a selected row in a separate Excel file

    I am fairly new to Macro and VBA in Excel. I am trying to reduce the amount of work involved in a task that is performed often in our office. Currently, the task involves using 2 separate Excel files. One file is a tracking sheet and the second is the document
    that gets sent out to the client. The second document has all the same information that is inserted into the tracking sheet. What I would like to do is have the information that is in one row on the tracking sheet populate into a new excel file that is created
    automatically from an existing template.
    I have been able to make this partially work. What I have been able to achieve is have the cell that is selected in the tracking sheet (the description field) copy into the new file that is created from the template that is on our server.
    Sub NewRFI()
    ' NewRFI Macro
        MsgBox Selection.Address(ReferenceStyle:=xlA1, _
                               RowAbsolute:=False, ColumnAbsolute:=False)
        Selection.Copy
        Workbooks.Add Template:= _
            "template file path goes here"
        Range("C14").Select
        Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
        False, Transpose:=False
        Range("C14").Select
        Application.CutCopyMode = False
    End Sub
    What I need to do is get the rest of the information from that same row in the tracking sheet to copy to the new file as well. The other information includes the document number (one cell to the left of the selected cell), who it is from (one cell to the
    right of the selected cell), and the date (two cells to the right of the selected cell). As stated, this information is all in the same row on the tracking sheet. Each piece of information needs to be copied to a certain cell in the new file and I do not want
    the source formatting to be copied to the new file.
    Ideally, I would like it to operate like so: select the first cell in the row (in this case would be the document number field). Then click a button to run the macro that will then copy the information from that row in the tracking sheet to specific cells
    in the new file that is created from the template.
    This process will save us from having to either manually copy and paste the information into the new file or re-type the same information that is already in the tracking sheet.
    This is probably a simple thing to do but it would be great if anybody had some insight on this issue. Thanks in advance!

    Try code like the following. You will have to change the target cells (D25, F1 and H4) to the ones you want, I just used some arbitrary cells as example.
    Sub NewRFI()
    Dim rngCell As Range
    Set rngCell = ActiveCell
    MsgBox Selection.Address(ReferenceStyle:=xlA1, _
    RowAbsolute:=False, ColumnAbsolute:=False)
    Workbooks.Add Template:="template file path goes here"
    Range("C14").Value = rngCell.Value
    ' Change the target cells as needed
    Range("D25").Value = rngCell.Offset(0, -1).Value
    Range("F1").Value = rngCell.Offset(0, 1).Value
    Range("H4").Value = rngCell.Offset(0, 2).Value
    End Sub

  • Cfspeadsheet not picking up data from cells using excel function indirect

    I am receiving data from comany executive in a sreadsheet and trying to post selected data to a company intranet by reading the data using cfspreadsheet.  for the most part, cfspeadsheet works, however, this speadsheet is rather complicated.  The spreadsheet uses the excel indirect function to determine which data to post.  When I read this cell, or any cell dependent on it, with SpreadsheetGetCellValue, if get the cell formula instead or the calculated value for the cell.  Is this function not supported by cold fusion?
    Is there any way around this?
    Is the a list somewhere of which Excel functions are or are not supported?

    Thanks for your reply...
    it is now displaying data in independent cells , but is it possible to add multiple headings in that excel sheet.
    ex
    Heading 1
    heading 2
    Column Headings-------
    Is it possible to do that way?? for column headings i think we need to pass in fields parameter of Tables...
    can we include multiple headings???
    Thanks for help..

  • Update Open Shared Excel spreadsheet from SSIS using SQL task

    I propose to call a SSIS package from excel and update a single cell in a sheet.  The spreadsheet is shared so it can be referenced by SSIS even though it is open.
    The update succeeds but the problem is the cell is not updated unless the spreadsheet is closed.
    any suggestions?  workarounds?
    Overview:  I need to have a button that when clicked executes a ssis package,  that does some assorted magic, and finally updates a cell so that another sheet includes the updated cell in a formula.
    Thanks is advance.
    Susan

    Susan,
    so, did you already create the solution?
    Why SSIS?
    I expect this not to work as the Excel Destination will require exclusive rights to the already open Excel worksheet
    I suggest you use data query from Excel or a macro instead. This solution does not look right.

  • Distinguish Excel Dates from Numbers - Using Apache POI

    EDIT: I know this is a common issue, I have read plenty of people reporting the problem, but I have not found a acceptable answer. -- Please help.
    O.K. so I have a little class that reads an excel table, and writes the cell values to XML.
    The program has always worked great, and even handles the different cell types; boolean, string, formula, numbers.
    Problem is dates. Date cells are treated equal to number cells, but I need to distinguish their format type. Right now I read them all as numbers, but I need to change this, because dates occur like 35356(days since jan 01 01).
    I tried some basic formating checks;
    System.out.println("Date Debug:");
                                            System.out.println(".isValidExcelDate: "+HSSFDateUtil.isValidExcelDate(currentRow.getCell((short) (useColumn)).getNumericCellValue()));
                                            System.out.println(".isCellDateFormatted: " +HSSFDateUtil.isCellDateFormatted(currentRow.getCell((short) (useColumn) )));
                                            System.out.println(".isInternalDateFormat: "+HSSFDateUtil.isInternalDateFormat((int) (currentRow.getCell((short) (useColumn)).getNumericCellValue() )));
    //                                   But they return true false false for any number..riddiculus!
    Anyway, as it will work now, I'll just read the columns header for a 'date' in the the title. I am anxiously seeking better ideas, please suggest.
    Thanks so much!
    Notes:
    *before and after are not acceptable, because i will have values above 39000 for numbers and dates as low as 1971.
    * some reason i can't just read the value as it is displayed in excel ('2007-08-28') which is what I'd prefer. (If you think i can, please let me know how)
    *please ask any questions to clarify my situation to resolve :-)
