Problem Loading Gif's using MovieClipLoader

Hi forum,
I am using the MovieClipLoader to load images into a web
site. some are jpg's some are gif's. Now the problem is that jpg's
load properly and appear on the stage but gif's don't load...(well
at least they don't appear on the stage)
I know MovieClipLoader doesn't load animated gif's (as
mensioned in the help file) but I have created those gifs in flash
and non are animated, they are all just one frame image.
So can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong.
Here is the code:
P.S. I'm exporting for player 7 and I need to keep it that
way.
if I decomment the last line of code the jpg image loads and
appears on the stage.
Many thanks in advance.

Actually, MovieClipLoader does load animated GIFs -- they
just don't
animate once loaded.

You code looks absolutely fine to me. I tested it right here
with a GIF
and a JPG. You're doing this in Flash 8, right? Prior to 8,
Flash only
loaded non-progressive JPGs and SWFs (and earlier, only
SWFs).

  • Problem loading XML-file using SQL*Loader

    Hello,
    I'm using 9.2 and tryin to load a XML-file using SQL*Loader.
    Loader control-file:
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE BATCH_TABLE TRUNCATE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    FILENAME char(255),
    XML_DATA LOBFILE (FILENAME) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    data.xml
    The BATCH_TABLE is created as:
    CREATE TABLE BATCH_TABLE (
    FILENAME VARCHAR2 (50),
    XML_DATA SYS.XMLTYPE ) ;
    And the data.xml contains the following lines:
    <?xml version="2.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">
    <batch>
    <record>
    <data>
    <type>10</type>
    </data>
    </record>
    <record>
    <data>
    <type>20</type>
    </data>
    </record>
    </batch>
    However, the sqlldr gives me an error:
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table BATCH_TABLE, column XML_DATA.
    ORA-21700: object does not exist or is marked for delete
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.XMLTYPE", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    If I remove the first two lines
    "<?xml version="2.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>"
    and
    "<!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">"
    from data.xml everything works, and the contentents of data.xml are loaded into the table.
    Any idea what I'm missing here? Likely the problem is with special characters.
    Thanks in advance,

    I'm able to load your file just by removing the second line <!DOCTYPE databatch SYSTEM "databatch.dtd">. I dont have your dtd file, so skipped that line. Can you check if it's problem with ur DTD?

  • Firefox is having problems loading web sites using Dish Networks as a network provider

    Loading of various web site is very sporadic. Some days worse than others.

    I had posted the problem previously & accidently marked the problem as solved.
    I received the following message since:
    "I am not sure how my previous post solved the problem but since then I think I have found the answer.
    I simply enabled Shockwave Flash 10.0.32.18
    From the Firefox Homepage it is located under:
    Tools\Add Ons then select the PlugIns Tab
    Select Shockwave Flash then enable it.

    This has fixed the problem. Thanks Phil.

  • Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.0_EA won't load .gif?

    I've been developing a midp 2.0 program for a couple of months now, in which I'm using both .png and .gif files.
    The other day I switched from SWT 2.5.2 to Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.0_EA, and suddenly a new error occured when I started the program.
    java.io.IOException nullIt seems that now I can no longer load gif's using:
    Image.createImage(fullName);Where fullname is a resouce in the .jar i.e. /org/netbeans/microedition/resources/dir.gif
    There is no doubt that the problem is within SDK3.0, because if I switch to Sony Ericsson, Nokia or SWT 2.5.2 the code runs fine.
    Does anyone know the reason for this? I suspect that it is an actual
    problem that can occur on some devices, as I've seen something similar
    happen when testing on a HTC P3300 smartphone. I've tried the
    application on lots of different Nokia + Sony Ericsson phones without
    problems.
    I've solved the problem by converting all my .gif's to .png's. But now my jar-file has grown 100% :(
    I've also tried to create the image "manually"
               try {
                byte[] bytes = loadImageData(is);
                for (int i = 0; i < bytes.length; i++) {
                    System.out.print(bytes[i] + ",");
                Image img = Image.createImage(bytes, 0, bytes.length);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                System.out.println(e.getMessage());
                e.printStackTrace();
        public byte[] loadImageData(InputStream in) throws IOException {
            ByteArrayOutputStream bout = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
            int bs;
            byte[] buffer = new byte[512];
            while ((bs = in.read(buffer)) != -1) {
                bout.write(buffer, 0, bs);
            return bout.toByteArray();
        }Which gives me an IllegalArgumentException (imageData is incorrectly formatted or otherwise cannot be decoded)
    But the bytestream appears to be my gif image:

    Did you check Release Notes of the SDK? I've seen it once - if memory serves it lists quite a lot of known bugs.
    Maybe the problem you describe is listed there too... and if you're really lucky then description may even mention some workaround for it.

  • Problems loading text to xib using plist in tableview's selected cell

    I am developing an app that starts with a grouped tableview cell.  Each cell has an image, text, and description from a plist.  When a cell is chosen a xib is loaded by a view controller in the plist.  I want to load into the xib some text, an image, and a sound file that is in the plist (dict for that cell).  This way I don't have to have lots of view controllers and xibs.  I have been able to load the xib using this method but I can't get the images and text to load.  I have been able to do it when I don't have a grouped table view but when I add the grouping in the plist the connection is lost.  below is my code.  Could someone look at it and tell me where I've gone wrong, how to correct it, or another way to do what I want to do?
    I know I am not calling the right array and then dictionary but I don't know how to correct this.  Help please.

  • Problems loading applications using Blackberry Desktop software

    I am using a Blackberry Bold 9000 with OS 5.0.0.681 (Bundle 1137, Platform 5.2.064) and Desktop Software 6.0.0.40 (Bundle 42) on Windows XP. I have about 20 MB of memory available for apps, but I cannot load new applications using Blackberry Desktop software. Now I can remove or unload software with no problem. However, when I attempt to load applications or software that I don't have, the following happens: I can click on the grey cross icon under "Action" to indicate I want the module and status changes to "Pending Install". The apps I want are English UK, Spanish, Supplemental SureType Wordlists for English and Spanish, Blackberry Application Centre, DOD Root Certificates, TTY Support. I then see the following on on the screen: "Update - Uploading Device software -->" "Update - Loading applications -->" "Loading device modules -->" "Loading applications from device - Searching for available device software -->" "Loading applications from device - Read device service information -->" "Loading applications from device - Searching for available device software -->" And lo and behold - the applications are not loaded; they appear as uninstalled in the application list and I can't access them on my Blackberry. During this process the phone does not reboot... previously when changes were made the phone would reboot. My question is, is there a way to force Desktop Manager to load the applications? How can I load the software I want? I have done a wipe and reinstall of apps and OS on my phone; delete and registry clean of my laptop followed by reinstallation of Desktop Software; battery pull and SIM card pull, but to no avail. This is frustrating as I have friends with whom I converse with in Spanish but it isn't my first language so the spell checker is very useful. Any help would be appreciated.

    Same problem, after weeks of no problems.
    Hard reboot of 8520 several times, reboot desktop, tried different USB ports.
    Intellisync crashes on organizer sync and Destop Manager cannot read applications.
    Is there a fix?

    I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

  • Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. Problem loading page appears. What do I do?

    When clicking onto the Firefox Icon a window pops up stating the following:
    Proxy server is refusing connections
    Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
    Problem loading page.
    What do I do?

    You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
    If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"
    See "Firefox connection settings":

    I was able to use the findmyiphone app last week, but now I have been getting an error message "Can't load findmyiphone.  There was a problem loading the application."  please help as we are trying to locate an ipod with pics of a no deceased loved one.

    Had the same problem and the same message --  was suddenly unable to access icloud apps on my pc, also using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. After several days of pulling my hair out, decided to try a different browser and was able to get in by using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.  Hope this helps.

    Hi I just updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
    I write DVD's using Final Cut Pro, creating a DVD that plays HD and Standard Definition on one disk.
    My problem is when I used load the disk on my G5 it would ask if you want High Definition or Standard Definition, now it just defaults to Standard Definition.(I'm using Apple's DVD Player)
    Can I fix this problem?

    Addendum: I read on a post here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=420169) about removing some kext files in order to trick OSX into thinking that there were no FireWire ports.
    I followed the instructions and removed from /System/Library/Extensions/ the following files:
    IOFireWireSerialBusProtocolTransport.kext
    IOFireWireAVC.kext
    IOFireWireFamily.kext
    IOFireWireIP.kext
    IOFireWireSBP2.kext
    I restarted and BAM...Snow Leopard booted crazy fast and the mouse and keyboard worked instantly.
    The System Profiler says "No FireWire ports were found."
    So this tells me that the FW port is probably the culprit and is messing up the installation.
    So how do I hack the Mountain Lion installer and tell it to ignore the FW port, which is obviously quite dead? Or is there something I can do to the Base system that is similar?

    I'm having problems loading web pages on a vmware workstation 6.05 guest OS using Firefox 3.5.9. Also tried the latest 3.6 version. I can ping external websites fine from the guest. No proxy. Any ideas?

    I'm using the same swear words as you. There are several threads about this problem - no answers.
    I have a LaserJet 8100N and 8150DN, get the 79.01FE error on the 8150 from print outs from Safari, Firefox, and Preview, for only some sites/documents. CNN.com has become my test site, seems I can crash the printer 90% of the time with their home page at any given time in the day.
    A summary of what I have tried:
    - Upgraded the firmware to the latest for both the JetDirect card and the printer.
    - Swapped the JetDirect cards between the 8100 and 8150.
    - Swapped ram on the 8150 board.
    - Disconnected external trays, bins, and removed extra RAM and hard drives from the 8150.
    - Tried setting the JetDirect link and matching switch port link to 100FD, 10HD, 10FD, 100HD, as suggested by a poster.
    - Tried having client's print to the printer through a XServer Print Server.
    - Can consistently create the error from multiple systems running 10.3.9, 10.4.5, and 10.4.6 (didn't have an install base of 10.4 before 10.4.5).
    Someone in the 'know' (which means they're likely not), said 10.4.7 will likely fix this. Being Apple has not even addressed that the problem exists (that I could find), I doubt the magic fix is a release away.
    Apple's software is triggering something that Windows systems appears not to be, so one could say it's an Apple problem; but ulimately it's HP's software/hardware that is at fault in that it is allowing their system to crash from input alone.
