     I want to transfer file on application server using below code and try to delete after successfully transfer on application file to other location.
I have problem during deleting file and overwrite file.

Write a Java program using Apache POI that reads in a tab delimited file and outputs an xls file (in what they call Horrible Spread Sheet Format. Create your tab delimited file and then run your Java program using appropriate OS commands.

I'm surprised that the OP thought that simply saving with an xls file extension would cause some magic to happen and produce an actual Excel file.

Problem with saving data in text file in Application server

Hello Experts,
I am trying to save a text file in application server.When I text file have less that 60000 (i.e 59999) records, it saves the file successfully, but if records in text file (saved in application server) is more than 60000 (i.e 60002), it creates a new file at the 60000th record with the continued records.
Can anyone please advise, why it is creating a new file if records are more that 60000. I tested it with 59000 records in my internal table and it is working fine. I have not given any restriction in my program to create a new file if records are more than 60000.

Currently as you can see I have commented out GUI_DOWNLOAD Function Module, But it works perfect when I try to Download file to Local Desktop.
But when I try to pass the same Contents to Application server file and then try to open it by downloading file then it opens BLANK pdf file.
As per requirements I should be able to write the file correctly on Application server and If I dowload it from there it should open PDF file correctly.
Let me know if you require further details about the issue.

I have a requirement in which I need to create Excel file on SAP
Application Server using OPEN DATASET command. As I have to run the program and create the file in background mode, I can't use 'WS_DOWNLOAD' or 'DOWNLOAD' functions. When I can create the file with .xls addition on the application server,

BPC 5.1 Deleted my Dimension .xls File after processing

I have found what I think is a bug in BPC 5.1 SP3 today. After saving my dimension file, then performing a Full Process on that dimension, the system deleted the associated .xls file. I discovered this when I tried to make additional changes to the dimension later and got an error when I tried to maintain dimension members. I've been making changes to other .xls dimension files and following the same procedures and this has never happened before.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? If so, is there anything I can do, so I don't have this problem anymore, or is this a known bug that will be fixed in later a later relaese?
I'm running a single server VM with 2003 Enterprise R2, SQL 2005, Dual Processor, Office 2003

This happend to us as well, multiple times. We are on 5.1 SP1. We've tested a lot to determine root cause and have been unsuccessful. Here's what I've noticed.
> The file processed correctly when I ran a "full process" of ALL dims in the Application
> The file also processed correctly when I saved the application, rebild index, etC and then performed a full process on ALL dims
> I could delete the old .xls file on the server, place a new .xls file in it's place, but when I performed a full process of the account dimension by itself, it still found and reverted back to the old .xls file ! ?!?

2. If the another file get's generated in the application server with same file name then the data in old file get's over written with the new data. You are not required to delete the file.

Transfering data from bsis table to file on application server

In my program iam selecting data from bsis table and transferring to file on the application server.
Code:
Tables: BSIS.
data: file type rlgrap-filename.
Select * from BSIS into BSIS.
Open dataset output in text mode encoding default.
Transfer bsis to file.
closesdataset.
1, Issue when transferring iam getting dump due to type conflict.
2, Here I cant create a structure like bsis and define type c
    varialbles as its an upgrade project.
3, I tried field-symbols using type casting but data in the
    application server is showing junk data with ##### in currncy
    fields.
4, In earlier program there is no internal table defined for bsis,
    Directly passing to work area and transferring to file on
    application server.
Please let me know any feasble solution to approach.

How to save for web AND overwrite original files with Action?

I want to compress a batch of images with "save for web" using a Photoshop Action, and I also want to preserve my folder structure and overwrite source files. The structure is important because it's complex and needs to be structured this way.
The Problem:
When I choose "save for web", I must define a destination. What happens is all optimized files from within the structure are saved in a single location.
Here's an example of the folder structure

     - Subfolder A1
     - Subfolder A2
Folder B
     - Subfolder B1
     - Subfolder B2
          -Subfolder B2.2

Well, deleting or overwriting a file should not depend on the size of the columns. You just overwrite the file with the new data. What have you tried so far?
If you want to overwrite individual data points, you would read the file, modify the data in memory, and overwrite the file with the changed data. Overwiting individual values directly is only recommended for binary files unless you can guarantee that each value occupies a fixed number of characters and the offset can be calculated from first principles.

Problem in uploading file from Application Server
