Problem printing output statements using c:out tag

Hello All,
I am new to JSTL. For some reason <c:out >is not printlng "HelloWorld!" instead it is printing "{hello}"
<c:set var="hello" value="Hello World!"/>
<p/>
<c:out value="${hello}"/>
Here is how I have setup my jstl
1.I downloaded jakarta-taglibs-standard-current.zip from apache.
Copy jakarta-taglibs/standard-1.0.3/tld/c.tld to my WEB/INF/tlds directory.
2.Copied all the JAR files in jakarta-taglibs/standard-1.0.3/lib to myWEB-INF/lib directory.
Added the entry shown below to your WEB-INF/web.xml deployment descriptor.
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>http://java.sun.com/jstl/core</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/c.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
Can anyone please help me out fixing this problem?

hmm not sure.. sorry about the last code... the reason mine is the way it is is because I am including it locally incase the user doesn't have a connection to the internet just the intranet. as follows.
<taglib>
        <taglib-uri>/WEB-INF/c.tld</taglib-uri>
        <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/c.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>I don't know why yours is not working. Hopefully someone who is more knowledgable then me on the subject will have some ideas.

  • There is no printer output when using the PrintOut method

    I have a VB6 app with CR XI, and a customer found a situation that when printing a report directly to the printer using the PrintOut method, there is no printer output or error message.
    Some reports using the same code print normally, but a report that is preceded by another print call, presents this behavior.
    And when the output is directed to the screen, we can see the report.
    Could someone give me an idea of what is the problem?

    Hi Isis,
    Not sure if you have applied any service Packs to CR? If please do so and test again. Then you can upgrade to CR XI R2 for free, use your XI Keycode and download Service Pack 4 from this link:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100011802732008E/crxir2_sp4_full_build.exe
    You'll find the distribution files for your app also from that same download area.
    If you don't want to upgrade to XI R2 then download all patches from XI and test again. This issues rings a bell that it may have been fixed.
    Thank you

  • Disable print output when using bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE

    Hello,
    I am using BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE to post material documents in our programs.
    I wish to prevent the print output of the documents created by the BAPI.
    Meaning - when the user post good movement using MIGO, there will be a printout of the movement, but if the movement is created using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, no output will be printed.
    I have tried sending blank values in fields VER_GR_GI_SLIP & VER_GR_GI_SLIPX in GOODSMVT_HEADER structure, but to no avail.
    Is there a way to disable printing ONLY when using the BAPI?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
    We cant restrict the print preview or print out of the material document. Once the condition record has maintianed for the material document, it ll applicable for all the material doc . It would be manual Gr or BAPI GR.
    In your case Print is coming automatically or user is taking the print !!

    Hi All,
    I am facing problem in update statement.
    I am creating dynamic sql and use "execute immediate" statement to execute a update statement.
    But it is not updating any thing there in the table.
    I have created a query like :

  • Problems printing PDF's using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

    During the last two weeks, I have been unable to print a PDF from my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. They appear okay on the screen, but print as gibberish.
    After consulting the forums, one workaround suggested was to print as image. Tried it, also prints gibberish.
    Another suggestion to update my printer software, did it. Still prints as gibberish. My priner is an Epston Stylus Photo R220.
    I'm a writer, not a software technician. I am not using a bootleg copy of the program, but an educational version, so Adobe won't offer me any advice over the phone without payment.
    Anything else I could try before paying?

    [email address deleted by host]

    I have same problem as described above, but not always.  Seems to depend on the web page I am trying to print to Adobe. One consistent culprit is Bank of America.  Looks okay until I print to Adobe Acrobat 9 or 10. Then it's gibberish.  i had to copy to Word and then print Word to Acrobat or printer.
    . Various computers,
    . same problem with either Acrobat 9 or 10.
    . Not a problem printing to Acrobat from a Word or Excel or Outlook document
    . Only from certain websites and not the entire page, only the OCR part. The objects: logos, pictures are okay, only text is messed up.
    Definitely would like Adobe to fix this.

  • Problem printing with Lightroom using Vista

    I just recently upgraded my XP system to a Vista 64 bit system. I print
    digital photos using Adobe Lightroom 1.4. With my XP system, I had a
    good match between my calibrated monitor (NEC 2690) and my printer (HP
    B9180) working in the ProPhoto RGB color space using LR. I use ICC profiles (mostly HP Advanced Photo Paper) and let the Lightroom application manage the color. With Vista, I've lost my match. Skin tones look great on my monitor and now print with a red tint. A blue sky prints with a purple cast. I tried Lightroom Beta 2 but no difference. I'm using NEC's SpectraView II calibration software which is 64 bit compatible.
    My workflow is to import the raw file into LR. After initial editing I then external edit the file in CS3 as a TIFF. If I print this TIFF file from CS3, it does match my monitor. If I print this same TIFF file from LR (my preference because of the print templates), skin tones look sunburned. If I export the TIFF file from LR as a JPG and print from CS3, it also matches my monitor. I reviewed my color management settings many times and can't find what's causing this problem.

    I had the 'opposite' problem when I installed Vista 64. I had a perfect match with XP, Samsung SyncMaster 225BW, and B9180 printer. The monitor profile was created using Spyder 2 Pro. With Vista 64 my prints were desaturated. By increasing saturation by about +30 I had a reasonable but still not 'perfect' match.
    I found and installed the Photoshop CS3 patch for the 64bit B9180 driver thinking it might be a solution, but that didn't change anything WRT the printer/monitor match when using Lightroom. I then tried printing from CS3 but had exactly the same mismatch. I then fell back to the first 'old standby', I uninstalled all of the HP printer software and then re-installed the printer software and the Photoshop CS3 patch. Problem solved. YMMV

  • Problem with select statement using Ranges

    Hi Guys,
                   I have used Ranges and used a select statement for selecting those ranges but I am facing a problem.
    RANGES: r_doctyp for EDIDC-DOCTYP.
    r_doctyp-sign = 'I'.
    r_doctyp-option = 'EQ'.
    r_doctyp-low  = 'DEBMAS'.
    append r_doctyp.
    r_doctyp-sign = 'I'.
    r_doctyp-option = 'EQ'.
    r_doctyp-low  = 'MATMAS'.
    append r_doctyp.
    r_doctyp-sign = 'I'.
    r_doctyp-option = 'EQ'.
    r_doctyp-low  = 'PRICAT'.
    append r_doctyp.
    r_doctyp-sign = 'I'.
    r_doctyp-option = 'EQ'.
    r_doctyp-low  = 'ORDERS'.
    append r_doctyp.
    r_doctyp-sign = 'I'.
    r_doctyp-option = 'EQ'.
    r_doctyp-low  = 'INVOIC'.
    append r_doctyp.
    Select DOCNUM                                " IDoc number
           DOCTYP                                " IDoc Type
                 from  EDIDC into table IT_ZEDIDC
                 where CREDAT EQ s_credat-low
                 and   DOCTYP EQ r_doctyp        " IDOC Types
                 and   DIRECT EQ '1'.
    Here my select statement is only taking INVOIC.
    But my statement should take any document type.
    Thanks,
    Prasad.

    Hi...,
    Your following select statement is correct.
    Select DOCNUM                                " IDoc number
                DOCTYP                                " IDoc Type
                from  EDIDC into table IT_ZEDIDC
                where CREDAT IN s_credat
                and   DOCTYP IN r_doctyp        " IDOC Types
                and   DIRECT EQ '1'.
    Why you are not getting result..
    1. structure of the IT_ZEDIDC is having two fields DOCNUM , DOCTYP  with same data lengths. If not it should be...
    2. Order in the database table is must be similer to the order you maintained in the select statement.
    3. As you are hard coding the input ranges make sure about every letter.
    4. take a look at other where condition fields too.
    5. check the table of the ranges in debugging mode.
    6. why can't you declare separate work area and table for ranges...?
      like .... data: r_tab type range of <field>
                 data: wa_tab like line of r_tab.
    7. Use clear work area statement after the append statment.

  • Problem to output image using ServletOutputStream

    Hallo everybody! Can anybody help me? I try to output image (jpeg) using ServletOutputStream. First I upload jpeg image to server disassemble it to binary data and save to database binary data, image length, and image type. Then I try to output image.
    Here the code:
    response.reset();
    response.setContentType(strContentType);
    ServletOutputStream sos=response.getOutputStream();
    sos.write(buf,0,bflen);
    sos.close();
    variable buf is array of byte with binary data
    bflen is image length
    strContentType it image type (image/pjpeg)
    I use JRun server 3.1
    I tried to save an image file:
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("test_logo.jpg");
    fos.write(buf,0,bflen);
    fos.close();
    And I got an jpeg file.

    I've done the exact same thing... almost. I have a
    servlet that sends a jpeg file to an applet for
    processing. Anyway, I did two things differently.
    First I used the write(byte[]) rather than
    write(byte[], int offset, int length). If you're
    going to send the whole array anyway, don't bother
    with the other parameters.
    Second, I call flush() on the output stream before I
    close it. I have a feeling this is why. Remember,
    web connections are connectionless. You don't know if
    the data was send or received. I assume what is
    happening is that you try to send the data then close
    the connection right away and the data may not get to
    the destination.
    Here's what I have. I don't think the content type
    really matters but I know multipart/form-data is
    binary.
    response.setContentType("multipart/form-data");
    response.getOutputStream().write(image.data);
    response.getOutputStream().flush();
    response.getOutputStream().close();
    I'll try it. But I have problem to call getOutputStream() method. It produce IllegalStateExeption. I think that because implicit getWriter() method calls. (I use JSP)
    Do you know how to reset somehow response to have ability to call getOutputStream()?

  • Problems printing from safari using an HP photosmart 7960 printer

    for some reason my printer will now only print from word or other applications but when i try and print a web page from safari my safari crashes. help anyone!

    Dh11unit-
    If there is a print job stuck in the print queue, double-click the iPad's Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and look for the Print Center icon.  If you find it, you should be able to delete the bad print job.
    If the Print Center is not there, your print job probably did not proceed far enough.  It is possible your WiFi router does not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  If that is the case, you would need to contact your router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update that will fix the problem.
    I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz.  It has limitations, but should get you printing.

  • Problem With Insert statement using field symbols with unicode enabled

    I was writng a function module for dyanamic operations on the table. We are using the field symbols, function module is unicode enabled.
    Assign statements are working fine, with which we created work are <fs_wa_header> and internal table <fs_tb_item> dynamically based on the table name (IM_TB_HENAME) which we get as import parameter.
    we have query which is giving us dump.
    INSERT  (IM_TB_HENAME)  FROM <FS_WA_HEADER>.

    Hi
    INSERT (IM_TB_HENAME) FROM <FS_WA_HEADER> is good for inserting a line in the database, so IM_TB_HENAME has to have the name of dictionary table.
    U should write:
    INSERT  <FS_WA_HEADER> INTO (IM_TB_HENAME).
    But I believe you can't use the variable IM_TB_HENAME, you should use another field-symbols:
    ASSIGN (IM_TB_HNAME) TO <FS_TB_ITEM>.
    INSERT  <FS_WA_HEADER> INTO <FS_TB_ITEM>.

  • Problems printing from Aperture using Epson R340

    I have an Epson R340 and happily use all the paper settings such as Glossy print from Photoshop to the printer. Having now installed Aperture I find I am not able to do this. I have reloaded the Epson drivers but still not able to do this. To elaborate when I press Print image from Aperture I go into Print settings - and find that the following items have a line through them - Print Settings, Colormanagement, Printoption and Extenstionsetting. This is not the case when I look at the menu via Photoshop. Can anyone help me on this.

    I have an Epson R320 and all the Epson's printer driver options are available to me in Aperture. My list is slightly different: Print Settings, Color Management, Page Layout Settings, and Extension Settings with the words separated by spaces and each has a capitalized first letter.
    I'm wondering if Aperture isn't seeing your Epson driver files. You might want to remove the Aperture plist file from your User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunch Aperture.

  • Using System.out.println

    I am migrating to a Sun server using Iplanet 6. I was on a HP-UX 11.0 server using Iplanet 4.2. I am having problems with two things. First, to get debugging information we use System.out.println in our servlets and JSP's. To get the output, we would redirect our start script when starting the server to a file. The trouble is now there is no output when using System.out.println.
    My second problem is request parameters. I do not always appear to get my request parameters in JSP's that use frames. The outer frameset uses request.getQueryString and then passes the query string to the two frames in the frameset. However, I do not appear to be doing that now.

    Instead of using System.out.println, try looking into the ServletContext.log method.
    I hope this helps with your first question.

    Indeed. It isn't obvious to me what the result of new FileWriter(FileDescriptor.out) would result in, but your test appears to show that it doesn't result in something which can be used to output to the console.
