Hi Frank,
As pr your suggestion, I have downloaded the latest version of Jdev 11.1.2.4.0 and still facing the same issue. I have Jdev 11.1.1.6. on my desktop too . Parallely, having the other version can create a problem ? . Just FYI, I have downloaded the sample again from the Magazine link and extracted it to a New location, tested and falied . I am going to try what Timo suggested and update the thread soon !!

  • Problem running Sample Application after intalling patch set 4.0.2.00.07

We just applied the patch set 4.0.2.00.07 on our TEST environment APEX4.0.
Now I can't run the sample application. When I run the application, login using either the admin or the demo user with the #lower_case_workspace_name#", the browser is generating below error message:
    ORA-06550: line 2, column 8: PLS-00201: identifier 'CUSTOM_AUTH' must be declared ORA-06550: line 2, column 1: PL/SQL: Statement ignored
Error ERR-10460 Unable to run authentication credential check function.
The sample application works fine on our DEV environment APEX 4.0.0.00.46 *without* the patch set 4.0.2.00.07.
Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this
    Thanks

    Varad -
I see that these functions are missing on the TEST environment parsing schema. I will have our DBA rectify the issue.

  • ADF UI Shell Pattern- How to pass parameter to the called bounded taskflow?

The sample Launcher class of the ADF UI Shell template has the following code:
private void _launchActivity(String title, String taskflowId, boolean newTab)
          try
            if (newTab)
              TabContext.getCurrentInstance().addTab(

          catch (TabContext.TabOverflowException toe)
// causes a dialog to be displayed to the user saying that there are
// too many tabs open - the new tab will not be opened...
            toe.handleDefault();
}How do I pass a parameter to the bounded taskflow that will be launched?
    For example:
    1) I have a list of employees displayed on a tab.
    2) When I select a record and click an edit button inside the tab, A separate tab should open with the corresponding employee to be edited.
How then could I pass the employee id to the edit-employee-task-flow?
I can't think on how/what would a "calling taskflow" come into this picture?
    help!

    Hi Arunkumar,
Thanks for the info. I was actually using EJB DataControls, and something similar to what you have suggested can also be done programmatically, but I wanted to follow the one promoted in the Fusion Developers' Guide to take advantage of the "ADF task flow framework" (like pass-by-value, pageflowScope, etc.) especially that we were having problems when we will just follow the procedures that was presented in the tutorials(I mean that- not all the procedures in the tutorials will work on an application based on the UI Shell pattern which do have multiple active taskflows.).
For instance, you have an active List of employees in one tab, and two other tabs that try to edit employee records. If these employee list and employee edit forms are based on a single iterator binding, then what would happen to the information in the two edit forms on each separate tabs if you selected another row on the employee list tab? -- In our case, the edit tabs' values synchronized to the new selected row in the list tab.
There are sure many work-arounds for these, but I am looking for a cleaner, clearer, or best way to handle this scenario.
    regards,

  • Problem running BI template installer after upgrade to 2004s

    Hello,
After upgrading our Portal from EP6 to EP7 I have a problem running the BI template installer. The failure occures right at the beginning. The installer is looking for SLD related parameters in the 'CTC> Propertysheet SystemProperties'.
But there are only three parameters in the sheet :
    HOST, SYSTEM_ID, INSTANCE_ID.
If you instal a new 2004s system you see much more entries in the 'Propertysheet SystemProperties'.
My question is how to add these missing entries into the 'Propertysheet SystemProperties'.
    Thanks
    Boaz

    Hi Kaylan,
Actually there are only two things to manually fix after the CTC template run, which is mentioned in the Blog:
    - check/correct the following settings in the NetWeaver Administrator for evaluate_assertion_ticket and ticket according SAP Note 945055
    - the entry in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL for Platform and PDF fonts
If you uncertain, you can remove the created objects as stated in the Document http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-11607 => Page18 in the Notes Section. the CTC template is creating these objects and entries again.
    Best Regards Roland

  • Dynamic Tab Shell Template - Ctrl+P (Browser Print)

We have are using dynamic tab shell template and rendering all our pages. The problem now is, that when the user tries to print the page using the regular browser print button or Ctrl + P, only the background (blue color content area see: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/uishell-093084.html ) screen gets printed in the entire page and none of the other rendered content prints. Print button does not solve our purpose either. So, it would be great if anyone could provide some pointers on what could be the reason that the rendered content is not printing (even in print preview it displays only the blue content)?
Note: We have already created our default template based on the dynamic tab shell template to get handle to the closeIcon.

    Hi,
never had a problem to perform a print screen using the UI Shell (would have noticed if this didn't work). So there must be some condition under which this happens. Can you download and run the sample for this article and try it with this.? Its using JDeveloper 11g R2

  • JSF Page Fragment based on Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template

    Hi
    JDeveloper 11.1.1.6
Can we create a JSF Page Fragment (jsff) based on an Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template ?
I tried to create this jsff page and added in a bounded taskflow.
In the create jsff wizard, it will allow us to select the Oracle Dynamic Tabs Shell Template, but when trying to use this taskflow in the another page (jspx), it is giving the following exception.
javax.faces.FacesException: javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Target Unreachable, 'tabContext' returned null
    at com.sun.faces.application.ApplicationImpl.createComponent(ApplicationImpl.java:261)
    at javax.faces.webapp.UIComponentELTag.createComponent(UIComponentELTag.java:222)
Basically the reason why I am trying to do like this is that I have to simply drop the taskflow in a page as a region.
The ViewController project code will only be created as an ADF Library Jar File and be used in other projects
(it will not be deployed as a web application (war))
    More about the requirement:
I have a BPM Application in which I have 2 ADF ViewController projects, one for only BPM Human Task related UI and another for only ADF functionality.
I am writing a custom BPM Workspace kind of ADF Application and want the UI to be based on the Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell Template.
ADF ViewController project is deployed only as a ADF Library Jar file.
Another advantage I can have is I can test my ADF code within JDeveloper.
(If I create a jspx page based Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell Template in the BPM Human Task Related UI project, I will not be able to run it in JDeveloper and test it.
Otherwise I have to deploy to the SOA environment each time I make a change)
    Thanks for any help.
    Sameer

    Hi,
the dynamic tab shell template can only be used with top level (JSPX) pages (in 12c also with Facelet pages). There is no configuration for templates that would make the JDeveloper IDE to not show the template of the selected page is a fragment.

  • [Dynamic Tabs UI Shell Template] Access AM from main page

    Hi
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1
I have a doubt about UI Shell Template. I'm using this template and this user data map implementation to store user preferences:
       http://andrejusb.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/solution-for-sharing-global-user-data.html
I use this solution because I need to share the user language in the view layer and the BC layer (some viewObjects depend of language)
I have a use case where I need to change the user data map from a managed bean (the user changes your favorite language from UI). Because I use the UI Shell template with several BTF in ADF libraries I don't know how can I access the application modules of these BTFs or the DataControls from the managed bean in the main project that contain the home page based on the UI Shell Template.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

  • Problem deploying an ADF Application - SOLVED

I am having a problem deploying an ADF Faces + BC4J application to my 10.1.3.1 App server. When I deploy to the Jdev embedded oc4j or to a standalone oc4j from Jdeveloper, everything works fine, but when I deploy to the app server, the first page submit gives me an error "Error setting property 'actionEvent' in bean of type null"
I can deploy and run a simple ADF Faces BC4J test page, but my real app fails.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.2, oc4j 10.1.3.1 and app server 10.1.3.1, all with the latest adf runtime.

    Frank,
some further information. My app has a login page, which is what gave me the error about an actionEvent. If I bypass the login page and go straight to the app I can open a jspx with adf components in it, but as soon as a submit the page (button clicks etc) I get the 'bean of type null' error. This time I can capture the stack though:

  • ADF UI shell and taskflow parameters.

I have the following use-case (implemented using the UI shell template)
    1. The navigation section consists of a tree consisting of heterogeneous entities.
    2. Each entity has a distinct "Details taskflow" associated with it. his needs to be launched in a separate tab on node selection
In (2) above, the taskflow lauched also needs to know the "context" of the entity selected and that is exposed a taskflow parameter.
Now when I explored the TabContext APIs, I could not figure out a way of passing parameters to these dynamically launched taskflows.
In the bugDB I reached the following bug which seems to be requesting for this support.
    https://bug.oraclecorp.com/pls/bug/webbug_edit.edit_info_top?report_title=&rptno=9404289
My query is with the current implementation is there any round about way of passing parameters to the dynamically launched taskflows.
To me this looks a common requirement or may be I am missing something.

    Hi,
I am not yet able to look on the updated UI Shell, but it seems that we have the same use-case. Maybe the sample app on the following link could help: http://soadev.blogspot.com/2010/03/reusing-single-page-for-record-viewing.html
    regards,
    Pino
ps. Please note of the following enhancements on the newly released UI Shell:
    Oracle Dynamic Tabs Template
A highlight of the fixes and enhancements made:
    * Fix to the java.lang.InstantiationException TabContext$TabSelectionActionListener exception reported in this forum.
    * Support for passing parameters to the task flows.
    * More page template attributes to adjust space allocation and control of specific areas (e.g., global header, global footer) of the template without having to modify the code.
    * Removed duplicate template attributes.
    * Properly referenced previously unused template attributes.
    * Tab state saving across page navigation
    * All objects are serialiableEdited by: pino on Apr 6, 2010 11:16 AM
