Problem selecting DataProvider.

I encountered a problem adding a DataProvider which already exists. This is what happened.
I wanted bind a table component to data; in the Add Data Provider dialog box, I selected Data Sources > fitwise > Tables > company and clicked Add; In the Add New Data Provider with RowSet for Table company dialog box, I had to select a DataProvider because I had already added the company table to other tables twice. I selected the second radio button and clicked OK. The IDE added the first DataProvider to my table. I tried to add the second DataProvider again and again, but the IDE kept adding the first DataProvider in the list, the one not bound to the selected radio button, but to the not selected radio button. Has anyone encountered the same problem? Is there a solution? For instance is there another way to bind a table to an existing DataProvider.

I think you may have to try what I'm about to try - resetting the Prefs - delete the Preferences folder and let Illustrator rebuild it when you restart it.
I can't get the Arrange commands to run - only thing I can think to try is resetting the Preferences...it usually clears up strange glitches like yours and mine.
[edit: Well resetting the Preferences did nothing for me. Hope you found a solution to your problem]

Problems selecting paper bin/source with some printers drivers

Hi,
I'm using CR2008 SP2 .NET SDK.
With some printers drivers i'm unable to set the correct paper source in the print options.
For example, if I use Toshiba e-series PLC driver (you can find it here:drivers and select, for example, the e-STUDIO281C printer).
Even if i set the correct paper source on the report designer when i print it through code (without applying any changes to the report) the report is always printed by the default paper source defined at the printer preferences.
The same thing happens when you do it through the designer.
I already tried the following workaround but without any success: at the CR Designer, go to the File Menu, and choose Page Setup. Under Page Options, check the Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size. This often helps with these issues. Resave the report, and see if that works any better.
Is there any known issues with printer drivers and CR2008?

Oops, sorry my mistake. I'll leave it here for now.
How CR works is to get the Printer info from the DEVMODE structure, which is where the printer driver settings and configurations are saved for each printer installed.
What I've seen plenty of times before is within the DEVMODE structure there is one area called DMExtra and in that structure it holds various custom options. Quite often the issue is we query that structure to get info but the problem lies in the driver returning an invalid structure size and therefore CR can't use any custom settings.
Same type of issue if they use an uncommon (ENUM) value for the paper size. In code you can see this in debug mode. But if you simply pass the values as pointers and not attempt to alter them at all CR should not alter what the designer used and saved in the RPT file when the reprot was designed.
What can happen when CR loads the printer info it fails due to problems with the printer itself. There are missing files from the install of the printer which cause Crystal to stop getting the info.
Try this on a clean PC with no other printers installed, Install just that printer driver and then install Crystal Reports. If it still fails then we know it could be Crystal having problems with that driver. You may want to post your issue with the printer manufacturer also. They may be able to test also and determine if it is a CR or their driver issue. They can download a trial version of CR for testing.

If that's not an option you could purchase a support case here for one of our Engineers to escalate to R&D. If it turns out to be a CR problem then you'll get a credit for the case, if it is a printer driver problem then no credit.

Be sure to tell them it needs to go to the Report Designer team first.
There is also a possibilty their driver has issue with Windows OS and the .NET framework. Crystal reports is also UNICODE compliant so the printer driver would have a better success rate if their driver was also unicode compliant.
Bottom line is if it doesn't work in Crystal Designer it won't work in code either.

Problem selecting date

i am trying to find out details about purchase orders that were generated on 10th of january 2006.
I fire following query to get the job done. But there is a problem with this query
It does show records for po's generated on 10th jan, but also includes records for 9th jan.
I can use date 8th of jan along with time parameter 23:59:59.
But i don't think it is a correct approach. Can anybody pls give an alternative for this problem.

select * from purchase_order where po_date > '09-jan-2006' and po_date<'11-jan-2006' When you said '09-jan-2006' is same as '09-jan-2006 00:00:00', so you will take all row which have '09-jan-2006' with a time after midnight.
You can use trunc :

Problems selecting images in LR4

I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need. Any ideas about what is happening? Thanks so much for any ideas, it's really strange and just started last night.

There was a bug forever-ago that certain areas of the screen simply didn't respond to any clicks. I think the solution was to rebuild the preferences file. Does that sound like the same issue perhaps?

ZEN Vision:M problem selecting from the men

Just like the title says, I'm having trouble accessing any of the menus(photos,videos,extras, etc..) from the menu on my ZEN Vision:M. I've tried pressing the touchpad to select a menu option but no luck, I've also tried just pressing the "right" button to enter a sub menu but no luck. I can scroll up and down in the menu and if a song is playing I can also adjust the volume but its like i have no option to select. I downloaded the newest version of firmware by my model, I've tried formating the player but still stuck with the same problem.
Also, when in recovery mode I cant select any of the options listed in the menu.
I just bought this Device from DELL.com w/ Extended Service Protection but Im beginning to think I got a defecti've product.
If anyone could help with this frustration it'd be great

I just contacted Dell and I'm returning for a refund. After several more attempts to try and reboot, relaod firmware to try and solve any problem with it I decided to call it quits and just chalk it up to a PoS mp3 player. I have had a 20g Samsung player for 3 years now and have had no problem with it at all. The only thing is that its not compatible with subscription services such as Napster to Go. I think I will look into a new Samsung or something else.

BI Report Export Problem - Selection data missing

I´m pretty new to Web reports and now I have a problem which might be easy to solve for you experts.
The problem appears when exporting a report. If the user exports the report to PDF or Excel, the data is exported correctly but the selection settings, that the user set, are missing. Only the field name are shown, but not the selected item. Its somewhat of a cosmetical problem, but important to the users.
Interestingly enough, we use many other templates which have the exact same functionality and where it works correctly.
I compared the XML on code on those templates, but there is no major difference.

Serious performance problem - SELECT DISTINCT x.JDOCLASSX FROM x

I am noticing a huge performance problem when trying to access a member that
is lazily loaded:
MonitorStatus previousStatus = m.getStatus();
This causes the following query to be executed:
SELECT DISTINCT MONITORSTATUSX.JDOCLASSX FROM MONITORSTATUSX
This table has 3 million records and this SQL statement takes 3 minutes to
execute! Even worse, my app heavily uses threads, so this statement is
executed in each of the 32 threads. As a result the application stops.
Is there any way that I can optimize this? And more importantly, can Kodo
handle a multithreaded app like this with a huge database? I've been having
a lot of performance problems since I've started doing stress & load
testing, and I'm thinking Kodo isn't ready for this type of application.

persistent types in a property. See

only takes a few seconds. There are lots of anti-JDO people and performance
issues like this really give them ammunition. Overall I just have the
impression that Kodo hasn't been used on many really large scale projects
with databases that have millions of records.

Problem selecting text in PDF created by MS Word for Mac 2011

I'm viewing PDFs in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0, and when I try to select text, the text that actually gets selected is 1-2 lines BELOW where the cursor (I-bar) is located. This makes highlighting text extremely difficult. This only seems to happen with PDFs that were created in MS Word for Mac 2011 and viewed in Adobe Digital Editions.
If I try opening the very same PDF file in Adobe Reader, the cursor highlights text just fine. If I open it in Preview, it works fine too. It just won't work when viewing the PDF in Adobe Digital Editions.
System: Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite
I have not been able to find any info on this issue anywhere, and if anyone knows a fix or workaround, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Whoa... the extensions mean something. Your original problem (document shows bold, italic, underline, but tables and other complex formatting are lost) sounds as though the document was being exported as a .RTF, a Rich Text Format file. If you save as a .DOCM, that's a Word Macro Enabled Document. Regular Word 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 docs are .DOCX. Regular Word 97 through 2004 docs are .DOC. You need to save that document as a .DOCX or a .DOC or you're gonna have problems later.

Normally you'd have to select page orientation.
So, poor testing on my part. I have no idea which of the above steps fixed it but I'm guessing the 'Save As' to my version of Word.
If so, it would appear the 'Compatability' feature was not working at least on these two documents.
Word's compatibility feature is supposed to ensure that a document you produce is compatible with the target version of Word. If you turn the compatibility stuff on then you will be warned if you are using Word 2007 through 2011 and you use a feature that earlier versions of Word do not have. Microsoft shipped a translator which works with Office 2003 and 2004 and which allows Word 2003 or 2004 to read Word 2007, 2008, 2010, or 2011 documents (.DOCX) and to save them as Word 97 through 2004 documents (.DOC) _as long as they don't have any incompatible features_. Word's compatibility features doesn't do much for .RTFs or for .DOCMs.

Problem selecting and dragging or moving an object with hyperlink activated

Hei!
It is impossible to select or move normally an object, for instance a photo, which contains an activated link, and that's very annoying.
First: Let's say I have that object on the top of the page and I want to put it lower, or maybe cut it and paste it somewhere else. First I need to select it, but as soon as the mouse is on top of it, the mouse over activates and opens a webpage to the designated link.
Second: before I do anything with it, I need to select the object and the only way to do it is by drawing a selection rectangle, which gives me the problem of needing to avoid surrounding objects which I don't want to select. If I don't have space enough, I have to let them get selected together with the desired object, and then unselect using the command key + mouse click.
Third: if I want to move it, i can only do it with the arrow keys, because if I use the mouse, I get back to first problem. So it's that, or disabling the hyperlink, move the object normally, and putting the hyperlink on again. None of it very practical.
If I actually want to cut the object and paste it in another page of the site, after I went through first and second problem, I can cut normally the object, got to the desired page and paste it there. If once there I still need to move the object to place it where I want, I end up in third problem anyways.
Is there any way to avoid this trouble?

Problem selecting and copying items

I use my iPad Air to work on groups in the photo sharing site, flickr. Since installing IOS8 I am having extreme difficulty in selecting and copying awards. Selection is done by dragging through the html, and then clicking on a blue icon "COPY" Sometimes the code saves correctly, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it changes to code previously saved It is driving me nuts. Can anyone help.
I have tried restarting the iPad, but that didn't help.

Javascript alert problem - select state

I am trying to validate my form with javascript. I'm having
trouble with my state field. If the user selects a state javascript
alerts the following message: "SELECT ONE is not a valid choice.
Please choose your state." I want the alert message to pop up if

Problem: Select Database to get X highest entries in reagrd to one field

I have a problem regarding a complicated (at least for me) Select statement. It uses a customer Z-table to read certain data.
But my goal is to read only a certain number of top entries per store.
The number can change from one run to the other.
To make it clearer here is the simplified defintion of the database table
MANDT
LOCNR
DELTAVERS
LOCNR is a store and DELTAVERS is a version (simple counter 001,002,..)of that entry. Both fields are key fields.
Of course there additional fields with values that I interested in. But they are left out here to let focus on the problem.
My goal is to read a certain #number of top DELTAVERS (versions) for each LOCNR(Store). I do not know the stores or the # of DELTAVERS.
The select should provide a internal table showing the X highest DELTAVERS with the related store
e.g. A Select that should show the 3 highest DELTAVERS per Store LOCNR, if available

Note: In this example B235 has only two entries

me again, I believe that I somewhat missunderstood the concept of GROUP BY and HAVING clause.
Both might prove completely useless in this case.
Would actually aa simple UP TO N ROWS do the tricking providing that the Select is done per store !?
How can I ensure that it gets always the TOP N entries!??

Problem selecting a column

According to the user guide:
"1. Select any table cell so that the reference tabs are showing.
2. To select a column, click its reference tab (above the column)."
When I do that the whole table is selected. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

the image doesn't help me any. i can't select a column and centre it, without all cells in the table being centred.
I can do it by manually selecting all the cells in the column, but I have 500 + cells to scroll down through and it takes too long.
I just want to select a column or row and apply a format to it, and I can't do it.
OK, just found out what my problem was. I had merged several cells to create a row near the top. this was preventing selecting anything below. i took out the merged cells and was able to select a column by clicking on the lower, darker shaded portion of the header.
