Problem sending email outside

We have just intalled OCS 9.0.4.1 single box. Testing the email from the web interface we can send messages internally but cannot send them outside.
can anybody help?
I have read previously related postings but nthing seems to work.
regards

Depends. Given you have a network where this host has permission to transport outside, then set:
Native Anti Spam = true
Relay Allowed = false
Trusted Domains = *.your.network.domain
and/or
Trusted IPs = 192.168.*.*)
bounce both essmi and essmo.
If not public web access, use andreas hint, put a relay in essmo.
Also: before 9.0.4.2.x you likely cannot relay e.g. to yahoo etc due to a multiple MX lookup bug. There is no single fix before 9.0.4.2.x.

  • 9500 problems sending email

I have no issues recieving email from BT internet account with but sending mail over vodafone internet connection generates message Connecting to email via Vodafone internet and then a pop up box PROBLEM SENDING MESSAGE
    System:
    Disconnected
    Any ideas

This occurs quite normally and is nothing to worry about.
It you cannot send emails remember that as a security measure you usually cannot send emails outside of your account domain without enabling SMTP authentication - change your email account settings to do this.
Look under 'Tools', 'Account Settings', 'Servers Tab' and 'use SMTP authentication' and set the username and password (normally these are the same as the usual username/password).

  • Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
    Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.

  • Problem sending emails out...

Problem sending emails when saved first as a draft. When I go to send the final draft, it disappears, including the draft. Very upsetting, happened many times but not consistently...
    Help please, any ideas?

I can’t edit emails saved in drafts for both email accounts that I have. Double tapping on the email in the left hand list does nothing. Doubling tapping on the email gives me options to copy or define. Tried resetting the by holding the home and power keys down until the apple appears but nothing. Without this function the ipad is pretty pointless. Is my device faulty? Any help appreciated.

  • GW 2014: Unable to send email outside system

Attempted install of 2014 eval and install went OK and I can receive emails from the outside but cannot send emails outside. Internal emails work fine and receiving internet mail seems OK but cannot send.
Verified that necessary ports are not being blocked..
I feel like the issue is part of the install and how the GWIA and Message transfer agents work.. Feels like I am missing some kind of connection here..
Other question I have that certainly may be related / cause of my issues is that I am real fuzzy on what my domain name / addressing should be..
I am using Windows Home Server for my domain with a domain name of XXX.HOMESERVER.COM (And using this name I am currently running a web server that works fine... )
With that in mind what should my MAIL record look like in DNS?
Also what should my DOMAIN name be in Groupwise? My server is called MAILHOST (pretty catchy eh?) so should my domain be MAILHOST.XXX.HOMESERVER.COM. ?
Sorry for the simplistic questions folks... I am an I/T guy but clearly email and DNS is not my strong suit...

Thank you for the reply! (I couldn't link the log file so I have copied and pasted some of it. Sorry for the long reply)
I notice that it repeatedly says that baldwin-telecom.net is down and this is not correct as that is my isp and is working fine otherwise...

  • TS3899 Problems sending email from hotmail addresses in iPad Mail

    Hi
I am having problems sending email from my hotmail addresses (live.com) in the Mail program on my iPad.  I get a message that says "An error occurred while sending this message".  Tis morning the program worked perfectly.  Now, not so much!
I have turned my iPad off and on.  I have deleted and reinstalled the mail accounts.  Neither strategy helped.
I have no problems with my gmail address.  I can send mail if I log on to the hotmail website in Safari.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    23circles:
I would like to find a way to only have the gmail inbox but still send from any three of her accounts.
You can do it this way:
Set up only one account. The one from which you want to receive mail.
In Mail > Preferences > Accounts > +gmail acct+ > Email Address insert the other email addresses, separating each with a comma and single space.
Only the GMail account will receive incoming Mail. However, when you want to send from another address, in the From dropdown menu toggle the address from which you wish to send mail.
You will, of course, delete the other accounts you have created to avoid getting incoming messages.

  • HT4864 Problems sending email via icloud

I am having problems sending email via my iCloud through Mail or Sparrow, I have checked the mail server settings and they are correct based on what is described on the Apple site.  Anyone else having this problem?

For some reason, iCloud smtp servers haven't been working well over the last couple weeks. I have experienced this twice, in as many weeks. Very frustrating as I send numerous emails on a daily basis via my iCloud account. If I login through the browser, the sending works fine, but via Mac Mail...no go. Very irritating to say the least. Apple, please fix this fluctuation problem.

    Hello,
Please use get-receiveconnector -identity "xxx" | fl cmdlet to check your
    client frontend receive connetor configuration.
Please check your outlook client settings as the following article:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/set-up-email-in-outlook-2010-or-outlook-2013-HA102823161.aspx
You should check if you check encryption type. Under Outgoing server (SMTP), whether you select TLS and select SSL under Incoming server (IMAP) or Incoming server (POP3).

  • Annoying problem sending email

We have 2 MacBooks. We have separate email accounts (several each). We both frequently get problems SENDING email. The account can vary.
The problem is that it says the server needs us to enter the password. This seems to be a bug, we've learned. If we hit "cancel" and go in the outbox, and open the email, and send it again, it always goes through immediately.
How can we stop from having to take all these additional steps to send email?

I too have had the exact same problem. I contacted godaddy and of course they said they don't resolve problems with third party clients. I have entered all the settings above, and as they show on the godaddy site, and as the 'helpful' support person sent me. None have worked. I have a hard time believing I have the only computer that doesn't connect to godaddy servers.
My pc works just fine, even a touch on the fast side with my godaddy mail, but Apple mail is only able to receive and not send. As for Mark's comment my mail takes almost 3 minutes before it times out. According to the connection doctor I connect to the server, password is accepted, but then it just seems to lollygag around doing nothing. If I have 'details' selected it shows me lots of 'PASS' and 'OK'.
    Any help appreciated.

  • Strange Problem Sending Email

I have three different outgoing servers in Mail.app.
When I connect to the Internet via dial-up, I can send via server A but not B or C.
When I connect to the Internet via DSL, I can send via server B but not A or C.
There's no problem receiving email from any account.
My Mail version is 2.0.5 (746/746.2).
What could be causing this problem?

Is the dial-up and DSL ISP the same ISP?
If not, most if not all ISPs now block the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP only this is outside of their network on Port 25 or Port 587 but some block its use regardless.
These restrictions are in place as part of an overall effort to prevent or reduce spam eminating from the ISP's domain and also provides an ISP more control over customers who violate their terms of use with sent messages.
This applies to any platform (Windows or OS X) and regardless the email client used.

  • Problem sending emails with Mac Mail 1.3.11

Desperately in need of help. I'm able to receive but not send email using Mac Mail. I keep getting an error message:
"This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server"
I have already tried the following at the advice of AppleCare reps:-
Have verified & repaired disk utilities & keychains
    Have reinstalled the operating system
    Have trashed the mail.plist file
    Have trashed the outbox.mbox file
Getting quite frustrated now because we have a mac bookpro with identical mail settings and it is able to send and receive mail without any problems.Could it be the version of Mail I'm running ?
I initially thought that the problem related to having switched to a new ISP but the fact that one of the mac's has no problem has led me to be less convinced of that idea.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
    Many thanks

I am having the same problem exactly. I can read e-mail, but get the same error message trying to send it. I can't use .Mac anymore--have to use alternate e-mail for the last month--since some time in October 2006.
I haven't changed anything on my G4, haven't upgraded anything, and the problem started about the time .Mac reported some customers were unable to use Mail for a couple of days in October.
I see nobody answered your post. Did you ever get your mail to work? I have repaired permissions, but I don't think it has anything to do with that.
    Thanks,

  • Problem sending email

I fail to send email with the error message "This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered. Sending the message content to the server failed." No problem in receiving emails and the Connection Doctor tool indicates no problem in connecting to the internet. Any help will be appreciated.

There's a myriad of possibilities here. If the connection doctor checks out, and you're able to send other emails then there's something about this particular email that's causing the problem - it could be some kind of spam filter running on the server that is rejecting the message because of the recipient address, the content of the message, an attachment, etc.

  • Problems sending email with any attachment

First off, I do have the latest firmware and I am using a BES.
Normal emails without an attachment, no problem. As soon as I attach anything, even very small attachements - it simply will not send. The only option is to abandon the email. Save does nothing, Send does nothing - so the only option is the Discard.
    Anyone know of a solution?

First step would be to contact your BES admin and ensure that there are no restrictions on sending email attachments.  If there isn't, they may want to check other settings on your account to see if anything might be conflicting.
    Good luck!
