Is anyone experiencing problems signing into imessage and FaceTime since upgrading iOS 6?
Since upgrading to iOS 6, is there anyone who have had problems signing into iMessage and face time? I need some assistance!
I think I've fixed it !!
not sure if this will work for everone but I noticed when you go on settings>messages>Send & Receive it was displaying my Apple ID twice and underneath where is says "You can be reached by iMessage at:" , it was displaying my email address twice as well, so I clicked on my Apple ID and signed out, restarted my ipod and signed back into iMessage in the settings and it just displayed my apple ID and email once. Next I restarted my router and my Ipod Touch 4g IOS 6 and it was working again !!! . Not sure if this will work for everyone but I just ****** around with it and it seems to be working for now anyway -
.
Don't be rude gdgmacguy. I am having the same problem since the update. It will not let me receive iMessages through my phone number, and when I enter my apple ID and password it says it can't be verified because it's already in use. I don't have any other devices using iMessage

Problems signing into imessage on ipad2
Hi. I am setting up my imessage and enter my Apple id and password. Click sign in and it takes me to a screen that says something about getting emails at my email address. As soon as I click next, it takes me back to the original imessage sign on screen. I have already verified my appleid on my email. Not sure what else to do. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

Can't sign into iMessages or FaceTime on my iPad2
I'm unable to sign into iMessages or FaceTime on my iPad2. I'm able to sign into all other Apple Apps except those. Could someone assist me on how to rectify this problem?
If you changed your appleID password, then try this one, which worked for me, after nothing else would. Log out and back in to iTunes on your Mac/PC.
I had exactly the same problems as above, and no amount of network changes or even a full restore would help.
Finally, I went back to my PC, launched iTunes, logged OUT of that, then signed in again, this time with the new password.
Then I had to go back, and properly close Facetime and iMessages and sign in. It worked fine after that.
(To properly close an application, double click the home button, then hold down on the facetime app logo in the multitasking bar at the bottom, then press the tiny symbol.)
Best of luck. -
I am constantly getting a pop up box to sign into imessage or facetime and can't get rid of it even after entering password. What can I do?
Launch Safari with the Shift key held down. If that doesn’t work, disconnect the computer from the Internet.

My phone is being a real pain! Time doesn't work, can't sign into iMessage and only some apps work! It also kicks me off the wifi! This is not my connections problem, it happens everywhere! Apple is terrible! Phone also freezes! What should I do!?
Did you try the basics from the manual?
Restart, reset, restore -
I cannot sign into iMessage. It keeps asking for my password but when I do it says it is an incorrect password. I have changed my password twice and the same problem still exists. This also is happening on iCloud. What do I do?
Have you tried going through the steps in this support article?

I can't sign into iMessages. My apple ID works absolutely fine for FaceTime App store etc, but keeps telling me "An error occurred ant to try again" when I try to sign in to iMessages. Very frustrating. I've double checked all the settings but still can't sign in. Any sugestions?
Try this - sign out of your Apple ID and reboot the iPad, then try all over again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
After the iPad starts up, go back to the settings for Messages and FaceTime and your Apple ID, and sign into all three again.
Sign into Settings>Store first -
For some reason i can't sign into imessage and facetime. PLEASE HELP???
For some reason i can't sign into imessage and facetime. PLEASE HELP???
Hey tcap8687,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with iMessage and FaceTime. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you have difficulty activating FaceTime or iMessage - Apple Support
If you see "Could not sign in, please check your network connection and try again" when signing in to your Apple ID
To resolve this issue, follow these steps.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you have a data connection by going to www.apple.com in Safari. You can complete Apple ID activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi, follow these steps.
If you're using Wi-Fi, make sure that your local Wi-Fi network is using the recommended Wi-Fi settings.
Sign in to your account and ensure that the primary email address and alternate e-mail addresses have been verified. If verification is pending, follow the instructions in the email Apple sent to that email address to complete verification. Or remove the e-mail addresses from the account.
If your Apple ID isn't an email address, you can change it. The Apple ID that you're using to activate FaceTime or iMessage must be an email address. Find more information on how to change your Apple ID.
Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. Make sure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone. If Set Automatically is on but the wrong time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to a different Wi-Fi network (in a different location) if a cellular data connection is not available.
You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by following these steps.
Tap Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:

Why can't i sign into iMessage or FaceTime?
why cant i sign into imessage or facetime?
I'm also having the same issue. I have an iPhone 5, upgraded to iOS 7, no issues. FaceTime and iMessage work like a charm. Also have an Pad 4th gen, upgraded to iOS 7, and everything except FaceTime and iMessage work. Both were working before the upgrade. Using the same Apple ID and password on both, just like before. Date/Time set to automatic. Tried over WiFi and LTE, changed DNS entries, tried tons of other feature combinations. No luck yet.
Any suggestions? -
