Problem since SP6 upgrade

Hello there,
I am fairly confident this is not the correct forum, but then which one. Here goes.
Since the update, NW OES 6.5 sp6, I continually get java "out of Memory" errors after about 5 minutes of people going into virtual office. The only things on this server are File, print (Broker and manager), iManager, Novel Storage Manager, Antivirus, DHCP/DNS. It is a Dual 3.8 Gig (with virtual processor off) and 4 GIG of RAM
Any ideas or tweaks? I can not get into iManager to configure anything unless VO is not turned on. I took away the link from people because I do not know how to turn it off. :)

Hi,
Treat the following:
review tcadmup.ncf (sys:/system) and verify that the line exist:
setenv CATALINA_OPTS=-vm160m -Xmx512m -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=sys:/adminsrv/conf/.keystore -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false
the same for tomcat4.ncf
Tell me that happen....

Without the XMS statement, the server goes out of memory in about 5 minutes. With it, it takes abou
t 15 minutes.

Yes. It already tried without Xms256m.

are you asking me to take out the Xms256m?

You already proved with this (without Xmx256m) ?
setenv CATALINA_OPTS=-vm160m -Xmx512m -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=sys:/adminsrv/conf/.keystore -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false

setenv CATALINA_OPTS=-vm160m -Xms256m -Xmx512m -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=sys:/adminsrv/conf/.keystore -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false
Already did that-one of the first things. :(

2.10 Java Out-of-Memory Issue
To avoid Java out-of-memory issues with Virtual Office and iManager, you can increase the memory allocated by editing the sys:\tomcat\4\tomcat4.ncf and increase the -Xmx256m setting up to -Xmx512. Then restart Tomcat.

  • I chat problem since Leopard upgrade.

I recently upgraded to Leopard, now i chat has an issue. When I click on a buddy, a window opens with my icon and a bubble, however when I type and hit return I see nothing. In addition when my buddy responds I see his/hers icon and bubble briefly then it disappears with no text.

I've been having this same problem since I upgraded to Leopard. Also my buddy list is grey and displays all my contacts online or not. The privacy features also are not accessible and say that I can't change them because I am not logged in, but I am logged in according to the main screen. I am behind a netgear router most of the time and connect wirelessly to an airport express. My provider is Comcast. I have changed the port to 443, tried the fix listed here, tried to fix it using onyx, and I'm sure more. At this point I am using Adium because I can't get iChat to work. I want to use iChat as I really like the new features and it was one of the reasons I upgraded to Leopard in the first place.

Ahhhhh,  Most tv's have a couple or more,  you may want to try Component cables then,  You can call Verizon or open a live chat, they may send you some for free, or they may point you towards their website www.verizon.com/fiosaccessories
I'd open a live chat and see if I could get them for free personally, but they are also very cheap at www.amazon.com
They are HD cables that support upto 1080p
GEEZ, I can't be the only person having this issue. I will try 1 call to them to see what they say. Thanks for your input.

  • Lost Connections have recently become a problem since I upgraded

My sister and I call each other frequently from the same general location, and recently (since I upgraded) we drop connection seconds after the call starts). I believe there may be a problem with the phone part of the new software. Everything else is working well. I do wish it would work better as a phone. I mean that is what I bought it for.
The problem seems to happen when she calls using her old version of the software, to me running the new version. When I try to call back, it goes right into voicemail.

To be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work.
First thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo.
If that doesn't work I would restore from backup. If that doesn't work I would restore as new. If all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one..

  • Nothing but problems since recent upgrade to Infin...

    I recently upgraded to BT Infinity. Previously I had a wireless connection throughout the house. Since the upgrade I have had quite a lot of problems. The hub is now in a different room than with the previous BB. I found that;
    1) Wireless not available in a few rooms
    2) Internet connection keeps switching off on laptop + PC
I purchased a booster as advised by BT. This helps at times but then I realized that not all my issues were down to the wireless connection. I realize many different devices can interfere with the connection but prior to Infinity everything was fine. This is the only change in my house. There has been no new electrical devices.
    Now the following happens;
    a) Internet connection keeps going down on various devices - particularly at 11pm at night
    b) At times I cannot even connect with an ethernet cable from hub to laptop
    c) At times speedtest shows poor results
    I've had various ideas suggested by the BT employee who is attached to my case, unfortunately nothing has improved the situation and I am getting extremely frustrated with the problem. The following has been done;
    1) My hub has been replaced
    2) Channels reset
    3) Engineer has tried to remotely fix problem and also replaced some part of copper wire leading into house
BT have recently sent me 2 powerline adaptors to try and set my hub away from the openreach box in the room it was in previously as I had no problems prior to the upgrade. Unfortunatelly BT have been unable to talk me through this and obtain a broadband connection. The BT employee is trying to set it up differently from the conventional way which he said has worked for customers before. I am awaiting the original employee to telephone me back in a few days as he is off work and his colleagues are not sure of the set up.
I am also awaiting yet another Openreach engineer to call in a few days if the problem cannot be resolved.
Initially for the first few weeks it was a complete nightmare contacting BT and having to keep repeating my story and having various employees reset channels and work their way through a set script. However recently a set person seems to have been assigned to this case and has been very dilligently phoning me and trying to resolve the problem. This is the only thing that has kept me sane as I was getting so annoyed by having to phone and take potluck with their general phone number.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone with similar problems or suggestions to resolve this.
    Many thanks.

Ever since the upgrade from 10.10.1 to 10.10.2 I find the system keeps dropping its WiFi connection and only rebooting both the computer and the modem fixes it although sometimes only after several attempts.

  • HP Scanner problems since Mavericks Upgrade.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?  I have a HP ScanJet G4050.  Since upgrading to Mavericks on my i-Mac, I can scan documents and they show up in the scanning software, but if I try to print or save the document I get a striped page, no usable information.  I checked out HP's website, but there are no drivers for Apple products.  Are there any options or work arounds?

Usually I use Chrome.  And I checked already to confirm I had the latest version of Adobe Flash installed.  I also tried playing videos in Safari to see if it was a browser issue and had the same problem.   I'll try your Safari fix though and will let you know if that helps at all.  Would you know a similar fix for Chrome?  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • G5 Firmware update necessary? Random problems since Tiger upgrade.

    I have a PowerMac G5 (7,2) with a 1.8 GHz PowerPC 970 (2.2) CPU running under boot version 5.1.4f0. I have added memory.
I apparently upgraded from OS 9 to 10.2.8 without running any firmware updates. I quite frankly don't remember. I have since upgraded to Tiger, directly from 10.2.8. (There were OS X versions in between, I'm told. *wry smile*)
I am now having random problems.
The machine won't sleep. Display will but tower won't.
On occasion when I boot it up, I get the blue screen and nothing else; I have to shut it off with the power button and restart.
iPhoto (ancient version) is running agonizingly slowly (better since I did the fix suggested in the iPhoto forum in answer to someone else's question).
A short while ago, (in the last week) I noticed that some of my rules in mail ceased functioning (while others work fine). I deleted and recreated them to no avail. I previously had serious Mail problems that I fixed thanks to Mr. Gost, but those were largely of my own creation, so this latter might be unrelated.
If I'm reading things on the various boards and in Apple's Support forum right, in order to truly fix this I should deal with the firmware, to wit:
    1. temporarily remove the memory I added (not factory-installed)
    2. somehow (handwave) install OS 9 OR boot up from a OS 9 disk
    3. download and install the 5.1.5f2 uniprocessor firmware update that Software Update keeps insisting I need.
    4. reinstall the added memory
    5. If I've reinstalled OS 9, reinstall 10.2.8 and then reinstall Tiger. (because I can't go directly from 9 to 10.4, right?) Otherwise, a clean install of Tiger might be a good idea.
    Is this accurate?
Should this solve my blue screen and non-sleeping issues?
Are those issues indicative of a serious problem, or just annoying?
Is there more than one firmware update I should be using?
Will updating my firmware at this point create more issues than it is worth (as I'm seeing that many people had issues after firmware updates?)
Also, these problems seem to have intensified since the update to 4.10. Can I go back to 4... um... the last update? If so, can you point me to directions?
Sorry to be so verbose. I'm obviously more than a little behind the bell curve on this upgrade. The version of iPhoto I want (6) isn't even sold anymore.

Software updater insists the firmware update I need is 5.1.5f2. The only information I can find on this is on a 2004 page at apple support (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86117) that states:
These firmware updates cannot be installed when the computer is started up from Mac OS X. In order to install them, you must start up the computer from a Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9 System Folder on the computer's hard disk (not from a CD).
When you click on the technical details it says:
Remove any third part RAM before installing this Firmware Update. After the Firmware Updater has verified that it has been completed correctly, you can re-install your third party RAM.
There are other firmware updates, but they don't appear to address the issues I have been having, and they're not what Software Updater says it needs. Am I missing something obvious here?
I will check the USB devices. Thank you.

  • Soundblaster X-Fi Xtrememusic problems since vista upgrade

I recently upgraded my system which is a DELL 950 to windows Vista. Since this I have had problems with sound or lack of it. I have uninstalled all creative software and drivers that came with my PC's external sound card (SB0460) I have then reinstalled all updated drivers and software for my device using your Creative updater service. I have now got 5. sound on Xpand surround setting which is all well and good. The only problem I have is I cannot access my Creative Console or my Creative Audio control panel when I try to open then I get "There is no supported audio device available" from the console and "The audio device supported by this application is not detected" from the Audio control panel. What I wanted to do was obviously set up the Entertainment and Game modes as I used to on Win XP and as I use my machine for video viewing I wanted to change the surround option to "Surround" as opposed to "Xpand" and set the surround difference to 50% as I used to be able to do via the console in XP. I have tried all varients on drivers and software and still nothing, just to confirm in sound setting within Vista control panel my SB X-Fi device is found and working correctly as the defalt option and the speakers are correctly configured within that configuration utility to 5. and all tested and worked correctly. I know there has been many different issues resulting from X-fi cards and Vista but I havent been able to track down an exact solution to my specific problem. Hope you guys can help.

Also....the THX console that used to appear in XP installations is non-existent?

  • Sorting problems since latest upgrade

I have my music playlists sorted on 'Sort Album Artist' so that I can keep Frank Zappa in the 'Z's and not in the 'F's etc. But ever since the last iTunes upgrade (to 8.0) it won't stay sorted on this field.
Playlists will sort happily enough if I click on the tab but as soon as I change views and go back again, they are sorted on Name instead (which is the first field on my playlists.
Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone a solution?
    Thanks,
    Phil

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

Since the latest iOS upgrade to my 64 GB iPod touch, I've been having play back problems.
Random songs will stop playing at random points....sometimes it just does quiet while the time clicks by.....other times it starts playing the next song, but still showing the current song display and song time line....it's all very strange.  Has anyone else been having similiar issues?

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

  • I cant see sinhala fonts in newer version of firefox.i have this problem since i upgrade new vesion

like i explained in question, before i upgrade newer version of firefox.i can read sinhala(sri lankan language) words.but after i cant see.but if i use windows internet explorer i have no problems.........plz help because firefox is my favourite.

I assume that you have installed the fonts.
For that site you need Sandaru Normal
    *http://groups.google.com/group/sinhalacasting/web/sinhala-support
You will have to disable downloadable fonts to make Firefox 5 use a locally installed font.<br />
That will however effect all pages that use downloadable fonts.
    * http://www.google.com/webfonts?subset=latin Google Font Directory
You can set the pref <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

I recently upgraded the OS on my BB curve 8520 to v5.0.0.681.
    Network - Virgin (with dataplan)
Since then i have been unable to utilize apps such as BB Maps and Foursquare.
Maps does not find my current location but everything else works
Foursquare used to  but now cant find my current location.
I know that i dont have GPS only GPRS  but Foursquare used to locate me so why doesnt it now?
Have even had Virgin send me a replacement phone but that made no difference.
    Feeling very frustrated

iphone 4 using audi bluetooth module (q7) worked fine until upgrade to new operating system (5). now works fine on car startup; iphone is paired, address book visible, no issues. but as soon as a call is placed using hands free, or an incoming call is accepted, bluetooth cuts out after five seconds and call reverts to iphone itself. then while using iphone, bluetooth comes back on, cutting out iphone conversation momentarily before coming back on speaker. this happens every time without fail. apple suggests 1) restoring iphone to factory settings, or 2) checking with audi for a firmware update. former option no guarantee of doing much other than losing information; latter option is likely to be a wild goose chase trying to find someone at audi knowledgeable enough about compatibility of their bluetooth module and iphone operating system. far more likely to be a bug in the new iphone operating system. apple, hello?
