Problem to call a easy function in a transformation routine

Hi,
I wanted to convert a string ("12") to an integer (12) in my transformation routine.
Here the code:
DATA: vaca_number TYPE i.
    CALL FUNCTION u2019conversion_exit_alpha_outputu2019
      EXPORTING
        input  = source_fields-vaca
      IMPORTING
        output = vaca_number.
    IF source_fields-smocker CS 'Y'.
      result = vaca_number * 120.
    ELSEIF source_fields-smocker CS 'N'.
      result = vaca_number * 240.
    ELSE.
      monitor_rec-msgid = 'ZMESSAGE'.
      monitor_rec-msgty = 'E'.
      monitor_rec-msgno = '001'.
      monitor_rec-msgv1 = 'ERROR SMOCKER UNKNOWN FOR PPS'.
      monitor_rec-msgv2 = source_fields-smocker.
      APPEND monitor_rec TO monitor.
      RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_rsrout_abort.
    ENDIF.
When i check, i have the following error:
E:"RS_C_ICON_VERSION-" expected, not "#CONVERSION_"
Have you an idea ?
Thanks for your help.
Rodolphe.

That's one problem.  But if you look at the interface for the FM, it requires a character value.  The following, using an integer, will dump.  Try it and see.  The only way to make it work is to define i_2 as a character, not integer.
PROGRAM zz_temp.
DATA:
  c_1  TYPE c VALUE '1',
  i_2  TYPE i.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
  EXPORTING
    input  = c_1
  IMPORTING
    output = i_2.

  • Problem while calling an RFC Function Module in Background

    Hello,
    I have created a RFC function module for reading data from an external DB system. The FM calls an external RFC program (coded in C++ using RFC SDK), which delivers the required data. This external program is maintainged as an TCP RFC Connection in SM59.
    Further I have created a report, that calls the RFC function module to get the data from the external RFC programm.
    My problem is, when I call the report in foreground, everything works OK, the RFC connection works and data can be read from the external program.
    However, when I schedule the report to run in background as a job, the report is stating in the protocoll that there was a problem calling the defined RFC connection (although the connection is working properly at that time).
    More funny is, this particular problem with running in background occurs only in the productive system, in test and development system the report works correctly also while running as a job in background.
    Can you suggest the solution to this problem? Could it be something with authorisations or server settings?
    I will be on holiday for the next 6 weeks, so take your time to answer .
    Regards,
    Dusan.

    Please read the forum rules about u r g e n t ...

    This is an external RFC server program, not a remote enabled ABAP RFC function module as the others seem to be assuming, right?
    Is it possible that your DEV and QAS systems only have one application server, but the PROD has many and dedicated one(s) for processing low priority background jobs?
    It might be that the target server of your TCP connection is not this BTC instance, and your RFC server is returning the data "locally" - so, into nirvana...
    Just guessing, but might be worth checking.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • POPUP_UNIT_CONVERSION SAP Function module in Transformation routine

    Hi Experts,
    I'm using above function module to convert the value of measuring document. I have the unit value in and unit value out, I need help on how to achieve this with function module in the routine... I wrote below code but it is giving me errors...
    CALL FUNCTION POPUP_UNIT_CONVERSION
                  EXPORTING
                        VALUE_IN = 'SOURCE_FIELDS-DESIR'
                        INDICATOR_VALUE = ' '
                        UNIT_IN = 'SOURCE_FIELDS-MSSIE'
                        UNIT_OUT = 'SOURCE_FIELDS-RECDU'
                        POSITION_COLUMN = '20 '
                        POSITION_ROW = '5'
                   IMPORTING
                         VALUE_out.
    RESULT = VALUE_out.
    Can any of you guys used this before , can you please sugget the code. Thanks
    -Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
    I suggest to use Function Module UNIT_CONVERSION_SIMPLE. The Function Module you mentioned seems to be applicable for dialog processing.
    The coding could look as follows:
    CALL FUNCTION 'UNIT_CONVERSION_SIMPLE'
      EXPORTING
        INPUT    = SOURCE_FIELDS-DESIR
        UNIT_IN  = SOURCE_FIELDS-MSSIE
        UNIT_OUT = SOURCE_FIELDS-RECDU
      IMPORTING
        OUTPUT   = RESULT.
    Best regards,
    Sander

  • Having problem with calling external javascript functions in LV

    Hi,
    I found this VI: http://lavag.org/topic/10304-discuss-calling-external-javascript/, which I believe can be really helpful for my work. The problem is I can't get it to run based on the following problem:
     - Apparently the "ScriptControl" cannot be loaded
    I am using LabView 8.6, and this vi has been produced in a 8.0 version. Do you think this is the problem? If not, what could cause this problem running this VI?
    Thanks,
    Diogo

    Hi,
    To start I am using this examplo from the google code page.
    <!DOCTYPE html "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
      "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <head>
        <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
        <title>Google Maps JavaScript API Example</title>
        <script src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&amp;v=2&amp;key=abcdefg&sensor=true_or_false"
                type="text/javascript"></script>
        <script type="text/javascript">
        function initialize() {
          if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) {
            var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas"));
            map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13);
            map.setUIToDefault();
        </script>
      </head>
      <body onload="initialize()" onunload="GUnload()">
        <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 500px; height: 300px"></div>
      </body>
    </html>
    It loads a basic map, and is saved in a html file created for example in Notepad. Basically as I said the VI is very simple, see next image.
    But like I said, this strategy does not allow labview to interface dinamically with the javasscript code in the html file. Doing it this way, I would have to constantly update the code in the file with new coordinates and loading the map again. This causes the mentioned flickering problem that I also had with static maps.

  • Character conversion problems when calling FM via RFC from Unicode ECC 6.0?

    Hi all,
    I faced a Cyrillic character convertion problem while calling an RFC function from R/3 ECC 6.0 (initialized as Unicode system - c.p. 4103). My target system is R/3 4.6C with default c.p. 1500.
    The parameter I used in my FM interface in target system is of type CHAR10 (single-byte, obviously).
    I have defined rfc-connection (SM59) as an ABAP connection and further client/logon language/user/password are supplied.
    The problem I faced is, that Cyrillic symbols are transferred as '#' in the target system ('#' is set as default symbol in RFC-destination definition in case character convertion error is met).
    Checking convertions between c.p. 4103  and target c.p. 1500 in my source system using tools of transaction i18n shows no errors - means conversion passed O.K. It seems default character conversion executed by source system whithin the scope of RFC-destination definition is doing something wrong.
    Further, I played with MDMP & Unicode settings whithin the RFC-destination definition with no successful result - perhaps due to lack of documentation for how to set and manage these parameters.
    The question is: have someone any experience with any conversion between Unicode and non-Unicide systems via RFC-call (non-English target obligatory !!!), or can anyone share valuable information regarding this issue - what should be managed in the RFC-destination in order to get character conversion working? Is it acceptable to use any character parameter in the target function module interface at all?
    Many thanks in advance.

    hey,
    I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and  RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

  • Matscript node void ouputs when calling user-defined functions

    Hi,
    I have a (for most of you, probably simple) problem with calling user defined function within a mathscript node.
    I have a script inside a MathScript node which calls three UD functions. When I try to output variables, LabView sets their type to void, so I cannot use them further. this would imply, that the script is nondeterministic, (since the types would get set at runtime). However, if I replace the call to the UD function with the actual contents of the function, the variable becomes deterministic. Now, since I have several call to these functions, I have no desire in writing all of them many time, introducing many variables etc. What would you advise me to do?
    Find attached my scripts and functions.
    I need this script running on a RT Target, and have been battling this for weeks, with almost no success!
    Thanks, Regards,

    MArtin, hello!
    As far as I know, LabView checks the syntax as you write in the MS Node, and since there is no X mark next to the line number, it indicates, that the syntax is correct. Since i have set the path to the UDF in both the VI options and in the general MAthScript setting, how does adding the path command help? even if I add path('directory') command, a yellow exclamation mark appears, saying the command is slowing down performance.
    (this is the original help explanation:
    The warning glyph indicates that LabVIEW operates with reduced error checking at edit time and slower run-time performance for the MathScript Node. The following conditions cause the warning glyph to appear. To remove the warning glyph from the MathScript Node and improve run-time performance, modify your script as follows to resolve the condition in your script:
    Your script calls addpath or pathremove (legacy name rmpath), or calls cd, path, or userpath with one or more inputs, which change the MathScript search path list at run time. Remove these functions and use the MathScript page to configure the default search path)
     Could you please post a screenshot of your VI, just to see, if you've got anything different set up?
    I am running LV2012.

  • Problem with JCA calling to DB function from Service Bus

    Hi there
    I have managed to use JCA from the Service Bus on several tables, on some diferent Oracle databases and it worked OK.
    Now, I try to use it with a DB function that I have defined. Calling to this function from any DB software returns good values.
    But calling this function using JCA (adapter created with jDeveloper) on OSB gives me the correct answer except that instead of the data there are question marks, like +<param>???</param>+
    The database encoding is ISO-8859 (by using "SELECT * FROM NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS") .
    This encoding is the same as was on different databases that worked ok with other adapters, just not calling a DB function, but a custom SQL.
    I would appreciate if anyone might know what can solve this ..
    Thanks

    Where are you checking the content of the XML?
    It seems that platform's default encoding is not able to identify those characters and hence dispalying those as "???". Sometimes you get some invalid characters (like null), in the XML file and when platform's default encoding could not identify those characters then they get displayed like "?". Please check the content of the XML to verify it does not contain any invalid XML characters (sometims null). You may try to log the XML in database and in OSB to see it's content.

  • Problem in calling RFC of an Function modue

    Hi,
      I am having two systems ARD and AGD. I am calling  a function module which is a RFC enabled in AGD from ARD.
    Infact this call is happening in standard SAP Program. But i am not getting the output while calling the function from ARD. If i pass the same values to function in AGD ( Through SE37 ) , i am getting the values.
       Please let me know what may be the reason behind this.
    And also is there any way to debug while calling the RFC function module.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Pavan.

    Hi pavan,
    1. Make sure you are using the correct syntax.
      CALL FUNCTION 'ZMYFM' <b>DESTINATION 'DESTNAME'</b>.
    2. Make sure the DESTINATION
       is not blank. (in case u are using some variable for it)
      (If it is blank, the function will be called in
       the local server)
    regards,
    amit m.

  • Call a Java Function From Abap

    Hi, I need to call a java function from ABAP,  I have a WAS 640 to deploy the module.
    I have found this tutorial...
    [ABAP calls Java via RFC|/people/thorsten.franz3/blog/2008/11/21/abap-calls-java-via-rfc-1-introduction]
    The problem is that it uses a newer version of WAS and it implements EJB 3.0 wich only works on Java 5, but my WAS has java 1.4.2.
    Anyone knows how to adapt this Blog to a WAS 640 version ?
    Or Perhaps there is another way of doing this, maybe publishing my function as a web service.
    Regards.
    Mariano.

    Why don't you expose your Java functionality as a Web Service and consume it in ABAP program. That should be much easier and the web service can be used in other places as well.
