Problem to get max string value

Hi
my problem is i don't get correct result when i get max string value from my table. for example, it returns '9' as max value while i have some bigger string values like 73, 80,65, ...
i found
some solutions to handle this problem (like converting to char or adding some zero in the begining of my value) but it does not appropriate for my situation because my string value maybe everything (some of my customers can use numbers while some other
else can use alphabetical+numbers)!.
can anybody help me ?

Hi All , can anyone advise whicn control I use to retrieve the string value of the STEP name using v3.1.
It was the sequence context in earlier versions.

I'm assuming you want the step's name as a string? Inside TestStand there is the NameOf function that can be used with any TestStand object. i.e.
Locals.mystring = NameOf(RunState.PreviousStep) or something like this� You can access this function outside of TestStand by using the PropertyObject.Evaluate() method.
You could also use the TS API (in TS or in LV or someplace else) to start with a Step object, turn it into a PropertyObject, and then get its property �Name� which will return the string name of the step.
Third option off the top of my head is to explore the Hidden Properties of TestStand, that you have to enable by going through the Configure menu. There�s a knowledge base about it somewhere on the NI website if you�re curious. If you remember browsing fo
r the step name via a sequence context/expression browser before now, it was probably hidden properties that you were using.

How to get the string value from the RichSelectBooleanCheckBox component?

I added a validator to a RichSelectBooleanCheckBox component which is binded to a String attribute of a View Object.
I defined the mapping of boolean value to corresponding String value in the corresponding attribute binding in the page definition.
When the validate() method of my validator was invoked, the new value passed to the validate method() was a Boolean value instead of the converted String value.
I need to write validate() method generically so that it can handle more than one way of mapping boolean values to String values.
How can I get the converted String value in my validator method() from the RichBooleanCheckBox component that was also passed to the validate() method as a parameter?

Problem in getting the current value of the drop down while calling value change listener

I have 2 drop down list. I am trying to get the value of first drop down from other drop downs value change listener. Initially one drop down contains a default value. First time I got the value while calling the value change listener. But if I change the default value to other in the first drop down and call the value change listener of the second drop down then I got the old value in the bean. Can anyone suggest a process

How to get max ranking value?

Hi Experts,
I have a situation where I can calculate the ranked top 10 values of a key figure using a condition. One of the columns I have uses the ranking calculation.
So I now have the top 10 values. I now need the maximum ranking value so I can know what the ranking is out of. So I would like to show the following:
Rank     Out of
1            157
2            157
3            157
4            157
10          157
So even though I am only showing 10 values in need to know the maximum number of records for the 'Out of' column.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the responses. I've tried the maximum on the column, but it doesn't give me the correct value as ranking seems only to be a virtual number and thus is inaccessable.
I've tried using the restricted and calculated key figure methods, but they don't bring back what I need.
If I do a calculated key figure where I use the count operator, and then use exception aggregation using total and then using the characteristic I have in my my rows, all I get is a list of 1's.
Is there something I'm missing in the calculated key figure?

I have problem to get max value from 3 years in Essbase.
How can i get max value from Dec 2009,Dec 2010, Dec 2011.
Suppose value of Dec 2009 = 1000, Dec 2010 = 1500 and Dec 2011 = 2000
I want to get max value from these three value, how can i do that in Essbase Calculation Script.

You have not specified if year and period are separate dimensions, anyway as always there a number of different possbilities and I don't have much time today to think about it but one method could be to use @MAXRANGE

When a ResultSet is returned to you, it is always positioned before the first row.
You need to insert a rs.next(); after your executeQuery().

Get string value from enumerated value on AE user interface

Hello.
I'm trying to get the string value from a enumerated value on a layer's property.
When I get the value via script, I have 1D value. However, I need the string value.
In this example, the value I would get is 1. Is there any way I can get "Horizontal and Vertical".
I'm looking for a generic way (any property value defined this way), not for this case only.

I have some problem in getting of input value from View to customcontroller.
My problem is I have created a Input field in the view and if Iam giving the value to that field I can capture the value from View to customcontroller and send it as BAPI input.But My input filed is in the view Context.
How can i capture InputFiled value from View to CustomController.

In my customcontrollerView all my BAPI mathods instances and execute methods are declared.All the attributes directly getting from model class.
But I have two views , in first view I created a input field(for that i created valueAttribute in that context).
Here I want give the conditions If the input field is empty then directly call the execute method of BAPI.
Otherwise give any input to the inputfiled then capture that value and send it input to BAPI from view to BAPI.
In my customcontroller
BAPI b = new BAPI();
b.Param1();
b.param2();
and
execute BAPI()
I done like this.
How can i capture the view input value how to send as a b.parama();

How can I get selection screen values from outside of program?

Now. I'm developing moritoring systems and I have problems. for getting selection screen values in runtime. Is there any function, methods or structure to know this?
I'd like to get selection screen values while several programs working in runtime and update these values to table to show current system's status and input values for users in real time.
For example.
Now. 3 PGMs are working on systems.
each PGM is ZAAA01, ZAAA02, ZAAA03.
and ZAAA01 needs input parameter P01, ZAAA02 needs input parameter P02, ZAAA03 needs input parameter P03.
In this case, I have to know values of P01, P02 and P03.
The mornitoring systems will show current working status of PGMs(ZAAA01~03)' and these PGMs' input values.
As fas as I know, the structure 'SCREEN' can be used in each PGM for runtime. Is there any SAP system structure or something else for this purpose?

of course I know SET, GET PARAMETERS.
But I'd like to minimize coding for each PGM level.
I have over hundreds PGMs and I have to develop the PGM(including tables and structures) that mornitor
all of those PGMs on a report in real-time.
This PGM is kind of Process Manager.
First I should know dialogue job PGM and background job that pass parameters using SAP(ABAP) Memory.
And then I have to update those PGMs' input values via screens into tables in real-time.
So, I couldn't use SET,GET PARAMETERS for this PGM.
I want to know methods that can be used for getting information about runtime PGMs' selection screen field values in SAP systems wide.
Please help me some one knows this.

There r two ways of getting the values into the list. First one is hardcoding the values and the second one is use the list and get the values into the list by firing a query in the database.
Inorder to display the values in the second menu based on the first onces selection we need to add an attribute to the first selectonemenu known as valueChangeListener and we need to sumit the page.
Here is the sample code

We have a requirement to get max two values.
We have one primary key Let us assume Quarter_sk we have to get Max two values for particular condition.
This primary Key doesnt have sequence.
select Quarter_sk from myschema.myTable where max(Quarter_sk) and max but one(Quarter_sk).

If you really want two distinct values, replace ROW_NUMBER with DENSE_RANK. In that case, you may want to change SELECT in the main query to SELECT DISTINCT.

Problem in getting last value of a string in Function Module

I am working on FM in which i have to put highfen mark which is working ok,but the problem if there is when the value of string finds a space it should not insert highfen in it and i am not able to put the condition in it as it showing the higfen even when the word is full in the first line.i want to show highfen where the word is not able to display complete. here is d code which i am using right now. plzz provide me guidlines to solve this problem.
