Problem Updating Meta Data

Hallo,
I changed a SAP custom table (added 1 extra field). Next I tried to update the meta data in Visual Studio, but the new field of the table is missing.
If I generate the proxy completely new, all fields of the table are visible.
Is there any limitation for updating table meta data ? The table contains 80 fields befor changing and 81 fields after chainging.
Any hints ?
Best regards,
G.Rausch
P.S.: As "workaround" I deleted the old proxy and genareted a new one, which worked fine. But this is no satisfactory solution at all.

Hello,
I had the same problem in another VS Solution as well, but I managed to solve the problem
After closing the sapwsdl[Design] and opening it again all fields are visible.
Regards,
Gerhard Rausch

    Hi all, im having a problem updating master data for an infoobject.
    Im not able to upload the data from the data source and im not able either to update it manually.
    Im getting this error Field symbol has not yet been assigned
    can anybody hekp me?

    Ask your Basis team to implement this note in BI system..
    Summary
    Symptom
    GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED (a field symbol is not yet assigned) occurs when new master data providers are implemented after Note 1089231.
    Reason and Prerequisites
    This problem is caused by a program error.
    This problem only occurs when display attributes are requested and no data is returned.

  • Problem entering meta-date LR 3

    I'm having a problem entering meta-data in LR3. As I finish typing in one field and then tab to the next and begin typing in that field LR will start doing something else, presumably saving the meta-data changes to the XMP file. In doing this, the meta-data fields disappear and subsequently, whatever I am in the middle of typing becomes keyboard commands that alter the images rather than meta-data text as intended.
    In LR 2 I had this same problem, but found that if I turned off the Auto-Save feature in the catalog's preferences the problem went away and I could then enter meta-data to my heart's content without interruption.
    However, in LR 3, turning off the Auto-Save has had no affect and I am back to not being able to enter meta-data for an image or group of images without a constant interruption. Then I have to hit undo a bunch of times to get rid of changes I've inadvertently made to the images while trying to type in the description field.
    Frustrating and time consuming. Has anyone else run across this?

    It's so since Lightroom 1. And yes, turning off auto-save xmp, seems to improve things quite a bit, but I still ran into it from time to time even in Lightroom 2.
    This usually happens when I have a lot of images selected (is Lightroom reading all their metadata and populating the fields?) and start typing soon. If I wait until Lightroom reads all the metadata into the panels and "calms down", I almost surely can avoid "typing becoming keyboard commands".

  • Problem writing meta data changes in xmp in spite of enabled settings

    Dear Adobe Community
    After struggling with this for two full days and one night, you are my last hope before I give up and migrate to Aperture instead.
    I am having problems with Lightroom 5 writing meta data changes into xmp and including development settings in JPEG, inspite of having ticked all three boxed in catalog settings.
    In spite of having checked all boxes, Lightroom refused to actually perform the actions. I allowed the save action to take a lot longer than the saving indicator showed was needed, but regardless of this no edits made in the photo would be visible outside Lightroom. I also tried unticking and ticking and restarting my compute.
    Therefore, I uninstalled the program and the reinstalled it again (the trial version both times). I added about 5000 images to Lightroom (i.e. referenced). After having made a couple of changes for one photo in development settings, I tried closing the program. However, then this message was then displayed:
    I left the program open and running for about 5-5 hours, then tried closing the program, but the message still came up so I closed the program and restarted the computer. I tried making changes to another photo, saving and then closing and the same message comes up. The program also becomes unresponsive, and of course still no meta data has been saved to the photo, i.e. when opening it outside Lightroom, the edits of the photos is not shown.
    What do do? I would greatly appreciate any insights, since I have now completely hit the wall.
    Oh yes, that´s right:
    What version of Lightroom? Include the minor version number (e.g., Lighroom 4 with the 4.1 update).
    Lightroom 5.3
    Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
    I installed the program two days ago and then for the second time today.
    What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/31.0.1650.63 Safari/537.36
    What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
    JPEG
    If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
    Please see screen dumps above
    What were you doing when the problem occurred?
    Trying to save metadata + trying to open images that it seemed I had saved meta data to
    Has this ever worked before?
    No
    What other software are you running?
    For some time Chrome, Firefox, Itunes. Then I closed all other software.
    Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
    4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Lightroom, such as adding Plug-ins, presets, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers, or installing/uninstalling any programs?
    No, the problems have been there all the time.

    I think you succeeded in partly convincing me. : ) I think I will go for a non-destrucitve program like LR when I am back in Sweden, but will opt for a destructive one for now.  Unfortuntately, I have an Olypmus- so judging from your comment NX2 might not be for me.

    Note: I edited your statement: I assume you meant now instead of not.
    If you start shooting raw, then you're gonna need a raw processor, regardless of what the next step in the process will be. And there are none better for this purpose than Lightroom, in my opinion. As has been said, you can export those back to Lightroom as jpeg then delete the raws, if storage is a major issue, or convert to Lossy DNG. Both of those options assume you're willing to adopt a non-destructive workflow, from there on out anyway (not an absolute requirement, but probably makes the most sense). It's generally a bad idea to edit a jpeg then resave it as a jpeg, because quality gets progressively worse every time you do that. Still, it's what I (and everybody else) did for years before Lightroom, and if you want to adopt such a workflow then yeah: you'll need a destructive editor that you like (or as I said, you can continue to use Lightroom in that fashion, by exporting new jpegs and deleting originals - really? that's how you want to go???). Reminder: NX2 works great on jpegs, and so is still very much a candidate in my mind - my biggest reservation in recommending it is uncertainty of it's future (it's kinda in limbo right now).

    There is a plugin which will automatically delete originals upon export, but relying on plugins makes for additional complication too.
    Which plugin is this?
    Exportant (the option is invisible by default, but can be made visible by editing a text config file). To be clear: I do not recommend using Exportant for this purpose until after you've got everything else setup and functioning, and even then it would be worth reconsidering.

    Via Publish Services.
    PS - I also use features in 'Publish Service Assistant' and 'Change Manager' plugins (for complete automation), but most people just select publish collections and/or sets and click 'Publish' - if you only have a few collections/services it's convenient enough.

  • Problem Updating BLOB Data in DB

    Hi, There,
    I have a problem when updating BLOB data in database table. I am
    using Oracle 8.1.6, JDK1.3.0., oracle thin driver.
    I have a Handle object handle (javax.ejb.Handle), and I need to
    save this object in DB. The table has 2 columns: column 1
    is "PK" Varchar2(30) Primary Key, column 2 is "HANDLE" BLOB.
    According to the documentation I found from Oracle, I first
    initialize the blob column, and then get the BLOB locator.
    However when I try to update the BLOB data by invoking
    executeUpdate() method on OraclePreparedStatement ops, I always
    get the returned int rowCount=0, which indicates that no rows
    have been updated. (This is verified by trying to retrieve the
    BLOB column value which results in SQLException: Exhausted

  • Problem update a date field

    Hi,
    I have one table with a date field.
    For display all rows in a table component i'm using a dateTimeConverter object with format 'dd/MM/aaaa' and work fine.
    Bat when i update a data provider with follow code:
    public String update_action() {
    // TODO: Process the button click action. Return value is a navigation
    // case name where null will return to the same page.
    try {
    myDataProvider.commitChanges();
    myDataProvider.refresh();
    } catch(Exception e) {
    error("One error: " + e.getMessage());
    return null;
    return from brawser the follow message:
    Number of conflicts while synchronizing: 1 SyncResolver.UPDATE_ROW_CONFLICT row 2 Data Exception -- No Applicable Cast Operator. from SQL type BINARY to SQL type DATE
    Anyone help me!
    Thanks.

    If you are getting the date from a calendar you have to convert it before storing it, for example, in the following code, the date got from the calendar is converted to a java.sql.Date
    java.sql.Date date1 = new java.sql.Date(calendar1.getSelectedDate().getTime());
    I hope this helps =)

  • Problem updating a date field via UnitOfWork - TopLink 9.0.3

    Hello,
    we want to change an exisiting application that employs TopLink 9.0.3, Build 423.
    The data is stored in an Oracle 9.2.0.6.
    The specific table has a composite primary key consisting of four fields.
    I can easily create a new Object (foo)
    uow.registerNewObject(foo)
    uow.commit()
    and see the results in the database.
    If I obtain an exising Object (bar) and change an integer
    bar = (Bar) Session.readObject(Bar.class, expr);
    cloneBar = (Bar) uow.registerObject(bar);
    cloneBar.setSomething(42);
    uow.commit()
    everything is fine.
    But if I dare to change a Date field
    cloneBar.setSomethingElse(cal.getTime());
    then
    uow.hasChanges()
    returns true
    but the update does not happen. It is neither logged nor is the data changed in the database.
    Is this a known bug?
    What have I done wrong?
    How can I avoid using hard-coded SQL to update my Bar object?
    Bye,
    Stephan

    Hello,
    it is very disturbing, but I finally found the reason for this problem.
    After decompiling the Project class file (we have no source code of this third-party library), I saw that the mapping for this specific field is set to "readOnly".
    I did not know that TopLink is able to have specific fields "readOnly" and others "readWrite", but it can handle this!
    So it seems that the behaviour is not a bug but a feature :-(
    We can change the mapping before creating the session, with the result that the field is updatable.
    Have a nice day.

    When we copy a material to a new one and we would like to update the basic data text we can do this directly except for some reason for Japanese.
    For japanese we first must press the Editor Icon, we than get the editor were we can change the text and from that moment on everyting is ok.
    But we would like to update the text like we do for the other languages without first pressing the editor icon.
    We are running 4.7 and the sapgui is 7.1 patch 18.

  • Updating array data in sql database

    HI,
    Im facing problems in updating array data in SQL database.
    As of now, i am able to write an "insert" query and insert array data in an image datatype field. Im using image datatype because the array size is very big(around 80,000 x and y values).
    Althoug inserting data is easy im unable to write a query to update this data.
    Referring to the help of SQL server and Labview database connectivity toolkit, i came across a method of accessing image datatype....using textpointers, which are 16 bit binary values and using the WRITETEXT function instead of the UPDATE function.
    but the problem im facing is that ive to pass the array as a 2d string array in the query as a result the updated array is retrieved in the form of a string a
    nd not as an array. how do I get over this problem?

    Hi Pavitra,
    I'm not very clear on how you have inserted the data into your application, but I do know that when you call the UPDATETEXT or WRITETEXT function you use the TEXTPOINTERS to point to the first location of a 1d array. So, depending on how you've stored the data, you may have problems updating your data if you're looking at it as a 1d array instead of how you originally formatted it. If you are able to successfully access the data as a 1d array, you can use the database variant to data type vi and pass in a string array constant for the data type. This will convert the variant datatype into whatever you specify. You may have to index the row and column of the variant (you receive a 2d array of variant) first before you convert. If possible, can yo
    u provide some more detail and maybe some example code of how you perform the insert and plan to do the update? I can probably give you a better solution if I know how you are formatting the data. Thanks!

  • The meta data is updated externally on my window home server

    When I moved all my images from a Netgear NAS to my new fileserver running Windows Home Server 2011, LR complains about that meta data is externally updated.
    This causes problem for me because I prefer to write XMP to the photos. LR do not write XMP when meta data is externally updated. I must do this manually.
    Is there a solution for this? I think I have to turn som process of in my Windows home server, but don't know which.

    hey jessicats86, please enter '''about:config''' into the locationbar of the browser (you might have to confirm the info message in case it shows up) and search for the preferences named '''browser.download.dir''' & '''browser.download.lastDir'''. right-click each of them and reset the value to the default. then restart firefox and try to set the download folder again in the options panel.

  • Problem getting correct data from MS Access after doing an Update

    Hi all,
    I have a problem getting correct data after doing an update. This is the scenario
    I am selecting some(Eg: All records where Column X = 7 ) records and update a column with a particular value (SET Column X = c ) in all these records by going through a while loop. In the while loop I add these records to a vector too, and pass it as the return value.
    After getting this return value I go through a for loop and get each record one by one from the DB and check if my previous update has actually happened. Since No errors were caught while updating DB, I assume all records are updated properly but my record set shows one after another as if it has not been updated. But if I open the DB it is actually updated.
    This does not happen to all records, always it shows like this
    1st record     Mode = c
    2nd record     Mode = 7
    3st record     Mode = c
    4nd record     Mode = 7
    9th record     Mode = c

    "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled." ?
    This error message will appear erraneously, if you skipped the update to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1 and went straight from an earlier MacOS X version to Yosemite, without first updating to iPhoto 9.5.1 and associating iPhoto to your AppleID.
    Try first to buy iPhoto with your AppleID instead of updating. Delete iPhoto from Applications, but don't empty the Trash, then go to the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto. If you are lucky, it will show as free and you can buy it directly.
    If iPhoto  is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support: Ask for a redemption code. You will need to provide a prove of purchase for your mac with iPhoto preinstalled.
