Problem updating basic data text for a certain language via MM01 / MM02

We are facing the following problem :
We have materials where we maintain the basic data text via MM02 in different languages ( Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese and polish).
When we copy a material to a new one and we would like to update the basic data text we can do this directly except for some reason for Japanese.
For japanese we first must press the Editor Icon, we than get the editor were we can change the text and from that moment on everyting is ok.
But we would like to update the text like we do for the other languages without first pressing the editor icon.
We are running 4.7 and the sapgui is 7.1 patch 18.

I'm trying to upload Basic Data Text for Materials using FM SAVE_TEXT. Everything works fine except long text. It is not accepting more than 132 charactors. What logic should I use so that it will append the remaining text for the same material on the other line?

If your text is longer than 132 characters, you have to wrap the text into multiple lines (FMs you should be using are FORMAT_TEXTLINES & RKD_WORD_WRAP).

How to Update the Basic Data text in Material Master.

I have more than 5000 materials for update basic Data text inside Material Master.
how to update basic data text using abap programe? is there any bapi or normal program?.

You can do by using the FM SAVE_TEXT.
Just populate text into table i_tline.

Lsmw problem: for mm01 basic data text two language

Dear,
I want to realize, in mm01, under 'basic data text' tab, have English and French text.
I use lsmw, direct input,object:0020, method:0000, program name:RMDATIND.
The basic data text function should be done in structure BMMH7.
Now, I add some codes for BMMH7 after entering 'Display Conversion Program'. But the codes will be covered when the rules changed.
Could you please tell me how to do the same function in 'Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules'?

How to find ObjectID for Basic Data Text?

I need to figure out what the ObjectID for the basic data text is in CRM...but, have had limited success in figuring out what the object name is for it.
Using transaction SE75 ---> Text Objects and IDs ---> Double click row with Object = PRODUCT
This brings up a list that says ID = BASE
So, if this is correct, would I declare the jsp code for the ISA to search in Basic Data Text like this?

Problem updating master data

Hi all, im having a problem updating master data for an infoobject.
Im not able to upload the data from the data source and im not able either to update it manually.
Im getting this error Field symbol has not yet been assigned
can anybody hekp me?

Ask your Basis team to implement this note in BI system..

In purchase order text screen, below you find one icon 'Editor'
click on this icon. It will open another screen.
In this screen -> click Goto Menu->Header.
It will open the details about Purchase order text.
TextName (Generally it is material name)
Language
Text ID : BEST
Text Object: MATERIAL.
Pass the above to READ_TEXT to get the text

   I HAVE TRANSFERRED DATA FROM THE FINAL INTERNAL TABLE OF MY ABAP REPORT (NOT ALV) TO CUSTOM Z-TABLE CREATED IN SE11.
BUT MY PROBLEM IS : I   COULD NOT   TRANSFER MULTIPLE   DATA ENTRIES   FOR A PARTICULAR FIELD.

There are actually 5 queries in this report now. From what I understand about a union query, I don't think it will work here because the data being returned in each of the queries is so different. I basically need to know how to make all the criteria for each individual to be displayed before proceeding to the next data set, which will include the same data as the first, but for the next employee, and so on. I need to basically create a repeating frame with each individual's respective data I guess, but every time I do, it tells me that it's referencing an invalid group.

How to create master data/text for an info object

Hi All,
I am working on a report and having a problem with an info object since it has no master data. This characteristic is supposed to be in the selection parameters and also should contain key and text in it. Since there is no master data for this info object there is no text and keys don't come up. Does any one knows how to add master data to this info object without reloading the ODS?

You shold load the master data into BW first,
othere wise you can do one thing
goto infopackage and schedule where in the update tab select the radio button
Always update the data,even if no masterdata is exist for that.

Load Master Data Text for 0COSTELMNT

Hello,
I would like to load text for master Data Cost Element (infosource 0COSTELMNT). The loading is Ok but, when I execute the infopackage the next time, I have the status yellow and the message "The data request was a full update. In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not contain any data. System response
Info IDoc received with status 8.".
It's normal that there are no news datas to upload but the problem is that the process remains not yet completed.
The parameters of the scheduler are :
- selection : none and "Use conversion routine"
- Processing : PSA and then in the InfoObject
- Update : Full update and Fixed Time Interval (start date : today, end date : 31.12.2006)
- Schedule : Start Data Load Immediately
The option Treatment of Warning is set to green.

On the R/3 system, when I launch RSA3 and Extraction for the DataSource 0COSTELMNT_TEXT, the result is 0 enreg too (no selection in the screen).
