Problem uploading bif tvs file
It might be a dumb question but here is my problem:
I'm trying to upload a tvs file to OracleXE (10g) using the html interface but keep on getting this error:
ORA-20001: Unable to create collection: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
Error creating collection using loaded data.
Trying uploading only a couple of records (lines) works just fine.
It seems that one argument is too bog for its field type but as far as I understand it, the uploader is supposed to adjust the size according to the data and/or prompt for changes.
The size of the file I'm trying to upload is ~22MB.
I'm pretty much sure that there is a straight forward solution that I'm not aware of.
Anyone?
Thanks,
Oren
I tried to post it there but for some reason it wouldn't let me post - the start a new thread (as well as reply) just refreshes the page. I tried it with different machines and different navigators with no success. I even tried deleting all oracle forum related cookies.
I have no problem posting in other forums.
Any suggestions or solutions?

Problems Uploading a Pages file in html format including pictures to web pa
I have problems uploading a Pages file in html format to a web page.
The files itself is downloaded but the images are not. How can I upload a page file in html including the pictures or illustrations?I just bought a macbook as well as the iwork software. I am having a few problems. I am a student and when I try to print out documents (originally word documents) it puts them automatically into textedit instead of pages. Also, the pages get all screwed up, things are missing, etc. How do I make pages my default and do i need to export? import? or do something so that these documents show up perfectly in pages?
A second questions- When i try to print out slideshows in keynote (originally from powerpoint) the handouts print on the little edge of the paper horizontally rather than the long way. I am hoping these are easy adjustments.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thank you! -
Problem uploading Muse-exported files on my Web server
I'm using the FTP client Transmit for years and I'm very pleased with it.
I use also Muse from the first preview and I always use the "Export to HTML" feature, and place the files on my remotely-hosted Web servers (NetSol).
When I upload all kind of files (HTML, CSS, .ZIP, videos,…), everything works fine.
Since yesterday, when I upload files generated by Muse, Transmit stalls and is unable to save the file on the Web server. I receive all kind of transfer errors.
Something must have happened recently.
I use the latest Muse CC2014 version and the latest Transmit version.
I called NetSol support and they said they change nothing on their Web servers recently. They point out that all my non-Muse files upload correctly.
The big problem is that I can't update my websites anymore.
How to share here the exported Muse folder?
Thank you.Switched to FileZilla
Here's the current log and it is failing all the time.
NetSol told me they have restarted the server and checked for authorisations, and they say it should work as it works for other files.

Problem uploading a PAR file from NWDS
I am having trouble uploading to one of my portal servers- I have always been able to upload to this server until last week when a database conversion and a change to the way SSO works (they implemented the spnego method of authentication) and now I can't upload to this server any longer. Here is the log from the sap-plugin.log file. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dana

Try opening the url in the error trace directly and see what happens:
http://tewk-eptst.global.avidww.com:54200/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/upload/prtroot/com.sap.portal.runtime.system.console.archiveuploader?login_submit=on&j_user=dboisver&j_password=newman12&j_authscheme=default&uidpasswordlogon=log%20on
You can see from the url that it tries to call the archiveuploader application directly, and that it passes your logon credentials (maybe you should change your password now ) and uses "default" authentication. The spnego authentication you mentioned, is it the default authentication method for the portal?

FM - gui_upload. Problems uploading CSV format file
Hi experts,
I am facing an issue here. I tried to upload a .csv format file using FM - gui_load, in the table LT_RAW all the information is all in one column and rest of the columns are empty.
How can i get the information to its respective fields?
below are my codes:
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'

filename = pv_file
READ_BY_LINE = 'X'
HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR = 'X'
codepage = '4110'

Hi All,
I'm trying to upload data from a file in the application server. The file that I read is a 'dat' file and the length for each field is preserved meaning if the currency key field is of length 5 and the file has 'USD' it is filled with spaces for the remaining 2.
I have an internal table t_data which has all the records from the file. I loop through t_data into wa_data. Then I move the contents of my wa_data to the structure work area wa_struct1 which has all my table fields(same length as the fields in the file and all the fields are standard SAP fields).
However the structure wa_struct1 always gets some junk values in fields like exchange rate and amount field (simply it doesn't like any packed number). Because of this all the other fields that come after these fields have the data messed up.
Also I thought maybe it's because of the character to Packed conversion, but then I use a MOVE statement and I'm pretty sure a conversion exists between these two data types. Also the SAP document for conversion between two data types say the source fields can be blank when converting from character to packed and in my case it is sometimes blank and sometimes filled with value. In both cases I always get a junk value like 2020.2020222. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Saravana.Hi
Probably you need to move field by field:
MOVE: FILE-FIELD1 TO WA_STRUC-FIELD1,
FILE-FIELDN TO WA_STRUC-FIELDN.
Probably some value has to be converted before moving to SAP structure.

Problem upload too large file in a Content Area ORA-1401
Hi All
I have a customer who is trying to upload a file with a too large name in a content area.
If the filename is 80 characters, it works fine.
But if the filename is upper or 80 characters the following error ocurred:
ORA-01401: inserted value too large for column
DAD name: portal30
PROCEDURE : PORTAL30.wwv_add_wizard.edititem
URL : http://sbastida-us:80/pls/portal30/PORTAL30.wwv_add_wizard.edititem
I checked the table: WWV_DOCUMENT and it have a column name: FILENAME is defined like VARCHAR2(350).
If i run a query on this table, the filename column stores the filename of the file uploaded.
Is this a new bug? may i fill this bug?
Do you have any idea about this issue?
Thanks in advance,
CatalinaCatalina,
The following restrictions apply to the names of documents that you are uploading into the repository:
Filenames must be 80 characters or less.
Filenames must not include any of these characters: \ / : * ? < > | " % # +
Filenames can include spaces and any of these characters: ! @ ~ & . $ ^ ( ) - _ ` ' [ ] { } ; =

Problems uploading a text file with line feed characters from Windows
Hi,
I am using the FM GUI_UPLOAD to load a text file in which at the end of each line there is a line feed character. When I upload the file, the FM interprets the entire file as ONE record; it does not recognize the line feed character at the end of each file line. I am using the parameter in the FM "HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR" and it does not do anything to remidiate this issue.
The funny thing is that WS_upload works like a charm and it separates every line in the text file according to the line feed character at the end of each file line.
Why a FM that is obsolete would work better and with less effort than the new one? We are on 4.6c and will go to ECC6.0 May 2009.
Can anybody recommenced a way to process this type of file using GUI_upload?
The file to process is downloaded from a bank Website into a Windows PC. Sending the file to Unix first is not an option.
Thanks,
Pierre Martinez
Edited by: Pierre Martinez on Aug 15, 2008 1:09 AMHi,
I have done that and Notepad does NOT interpret the line feed character. The file looks all messed up. Notepad does NOT split the data into records. The Hex character at the end of each file line is 0A.
The user will download the file into a Windows desktop from the bank's website and from there an ABAP program needs to read it and parse it. But the ABAP program can not even catch the entire file with gui_upload. WS_upload can catch it with no issues.
I tried catching the file into an internal table of data type string using GUI_upload, but it only catches two bytes of the file and nothing else.
I will try catching the file in some other type of data type for the internal table in gui_upload.
Once I catch it, I can split the file by the line feed character. I need to catch it first, but "my glove" is not big enough. Defining the internal table for the gui_upload as character is a guessing game since I really do not know how big the text file is since GUI_upload will put it in a one record.
Thanks. -
Problem uploading multibyte CSV file
I apologize, this topic has been addressed several times, but I still can't find the solution.
I have multibyte CSV files (extract from BI) : Excel says "Unicode txt" and when I save them from Excel in "Text CSV", they get half the size on the disk.
here is the piece of code where the uploaded file get converted from blob to clob then to varchar2 (CSV Util from Oleg.Lihvoinen http://dbswh.webhop.net/dbswh/f?p=BLOG:READ:0::::ARTICLE:11000346061523)
SELECT blob_content
INTO v_blob_data
FROM wwv_flow_files
WHERE NAME = p_file_name;
v_position := 1;
blob_csid := 873 ;
DBMS_LOB.createtemporary (lob_loc => v_clob_data,
CACHE => TRUE,
dur => DBMS_LOB.SESSION
DBMS_LOB.converttoclob (v_clob_data,
v_blob_data,
amount,
dest_offset,
src_offset,
blob_csid,
lang_ctx,
warning
v_clob_len := DBMS_LOB.getlength (v_clob_data);
IF v_clob_len = 0 THEN
RETURN;
END IF;
WHILE (v_position <= v_clob_len + 1)
LOOP
v_char := DBMS_LOB.SUBSTR (v_clob_data, c_chunk_len, v_position);
v_line := v_line || v_char;
v_position := v_position + c_chunk_len;
I have tried different values for "blob_csid := 873 ;" (and by the way, the list of possible values for this code is very difficult to find : I know, there is a function CS_name to CS_ID but a list would be great), but without any visible effect.
If I use the Apex CSV uploader app, the result is the same than with this code.
Here is an example :
ORACLE
instead of :
ORACLE
How I can have these files imported whithout an Excel conversion ?
Thanks.Hum, looks like the error is thrown before the execution, during the sort of prepare/precompile of the package procedure, and it said that v_line := v_line || v_char is too small string buffer.
I am a bit surprised.
Anyone on this ????? I am doing answers myself, it will not help me a lot :) -
Problem uploading XLIFF translation file
Hi,
I am trying to carry out a translation process on an application but am getting an error which is stopping me progressing.
I have exported the text to a XLIFF file successfully, however when I try to import the translated XLIFF, I get the 'Page
cannot be displayed' screen in Internet Explorer (with url 'http://ijmstra57.ijmuiden.corusgroup.com:7782/pls/tsuit/wwv_flow.accept').
Could anybody give me an idea what could be causing this and any way to resolve it please.
Thanks
SimonHi
what if you validate the file using an off-line XML validation tool like XMLSpy?
You should try that one first, as a malformed XML file can lead to every kind of weird errors.

Problems uploading revised book
I created my book in iBooks Author and uploaded it (and it just went live this morning). However, since I uploaded it, I realized I should really have checked the "Disable Portrait Orientation" box. I wanted to upload the revised version, but I am running into problems. Obviously I don't want to use the publish button in iBooks Author, since I already have a version of the book in iTunes Producer. So I exported the revised book to an iBooks file, then tried to upload that in iTunes Producer, but I am getting one error. I don't have the error on this computer, but basically it said said that my audio file could only be uploaded as part of a widget. I did insert my audio file into the book with a widget, and had no problems uploading the original file. It is only when I try to submit this revised version that I get the error message. Am I going about saving and/or uploading the revised book in the wrong way? Any other ideas in regard to what the problem could be? Thank you.
Were you able to properly login to Blurb before uploading ?

Upload all the files in a directory
Hi,
I have searched in forum for a solution to my problem (Upload all the files contained in a certain directory) but all I've found is solutions to upload a single file using the bean JspSmartUpload. I had myself used this bean to uploads files to an server, but files choosed by the user with the <input type="file">. What I'm wanting know is different and I can't find a solution to it. I've tried to change the jspsmartupload to do this but I'm having no success..
Anyone can help?
Thanks in advance,
Nuno.I don't believe there's any support in pure html forms to accomplish this.
The File class has a listFiles() method, that will return an array of all the files in a directory. As this code must run on the client machine, you will need to write an applet to accomplish this. You will also have to worry about the security sandbox, and sign your applet.
To get each file to the server you will need to create a URL object, openConnection on it, set up a multipart form POST to it, and transfer the files, one by one. -
I am having some huge problems with my colorspace settings. Every time I upload my raw files from my Canon 5D mark II or 6D the pics are perfect in color. That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.
Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

I'm running MX 2004 on Windows XP. All's been well for the
last few months, doing site maintenance at this part-time job. I
get tangled up a bit in checking files in and out, coming from
GoLive, and since there's no one else with FTP access, yesterday I
told it to check the entire site in. I didn't have any changes I
didn't want to commit, and I figured that would keep things a
little neater.
As of today, I can post revisions to existing pages, or
resize image files, but when I create a new page, or try to place a
new image file on an existing page, I can't upload it.
So, to be clear: I have two pages already up on the site,
index.html and apple.html, with a link between them. If I create
new page banana.html and make a link to it from index, index.html
will upload that revised link, but banana.html is refused with the
message
FTP error: The file may not exist, or there could be a
permission problem
I know the file doesn't exist (remotely); I just made it.
I've gone to Prefs and disable Check In / Check Out, which didn't
do me any good. What next?Can you open the FTP log, select one of these new files and
upload it- then
cut and paste relevant part of the ftp log?
Also- does this site have a "host directory", a subfolder
that your public
files need to go into? If yes- is this folder listed in the
host directory
line of the remote server info?
And odd past thing i've seen-
Had hosting that used public_html as the public folder name.
They also had a symbolic link named www that pointed to
public_html
Could upload/download existing files with www in "host
directory" line of
dw; but could not upload new files or work with files in
subfolders.
changing to public_html instead of the www symlink fixed this
for me.
