Problem with a description in a LOV

Hi, I have a problem with a Lov.
I have a LOV with a id and a description link with this id.
When this field is blank I need to search and i push the lov. But when i save and i go back then i can't show the description.
If a put this Field as a dropDownList I don't have any problem, I can show the description.
But with LOV I can only show the id, not the description. Then I need search the description with the pop up of the lov
I'm novate in adf, so any help It could be important for me.

Problem with column description in report

Hi Guys,
In one of the queries, I have time-characteristic 0FISCPER (restricted on 0I_FPER variable) in the columns section. I have few key figures in my rows section of the query. When i executed the query (filter char. - Fiscal year variant restricted to July - June, 4 special periods i.e. V6), i get separate columns for each month as required. On execution, the following output appears (with user-entry values for 0FISCPER being 001/2005 - 012/2005):
July 2005 August 2005 ..... June 2005
The output i am expecting is:
July 2004 August 2004 ... June 2005
I have problem only with the column description. The data appears correctly. i.e. Data for July 2004 appears correctly but with heading July 2005 instead of July 2004. I created text variables on 0FISCPER for all the months of 2004. But no help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Problem with description in selection pop-up

Hi gurus,
I have a problem with the description field in the variable selection pop-up that appears when a web template is opened. When I select a variable in the variable field appears the technical name of the characteristic and close to the technical name appears the description. This description seems to be the short description (default), but if the characteristic has only the short or medium length description it is not possible to force the second one (the medium). When the characteristic has the long description it is possible to force them in the InfoObject properties (Bex).
It is possible to force the medium length description in that field?
Any suggestion is appreciated.

I verify the parameter in InfoProvider -> Change -> Extras -> Structur-Specific InfoObject Properties but are set correctly.
I think my problem is in the Business Explorer tab of the infoObject properties
for example in the characteristic 0JOB I have only the short and medium description. I set the parameter:
Display -> Text
Text Type -> Medium Length text
Bex Description -> Long description (because i can choose only between short or long)

i have a problem with Select list (query based LOV)
when run tabular form i have the following error:
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
the number of rows of the Lov are 900
the display variable is 70 char
is there any limit?

Thanks for the response, but I don't think you quite understand my problem. If I go to the Column Attributes screen for the group_id field, I have the "Display As" drop down set to "Select List (query based LOV)", not "Select List (named LOV)". This requires that the sql query be written in the "List of values definition" text area below. Within that text area I have the following query:
SELECT DISPLAY_NAME, GROUP_ID
FROM APPLICATION_GROUPS
WHERE APP_ID = ?????
ORDER BY 1
The APP_ID that I need to reference is for the current row of data that is being processed. Therefore, I can't use a :PNNN_APP_ID variable, because that field does not exist on the page.

Problem with dynamic LOV and function

Hello all!
I'm having a problem with a dynamic lov in APEX 3.0.1.00.08. Hope you can help me!
I have Report and Form application. On the Form page i have a Page Item (Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value)).
When i submit the sql code in the 'List of vaules defention' box. I get the following message;
1 error has occurred
LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.
When i excecute the code below in TOAD or in the SQL Workshop it returns the values i want to see. But somehow APEX doesn't like the sql....

I just had the same problem when I used a function in a where clause.
I have a function that checks if the current user has acces or not (returning varchar 'Y' or 'N').
In where clause I have this:
where myFunction(:user, somePK) = 'Y'
It seems that when APEX checked if my query was valid, my function triggered and exception.
As Varad pointed out, check for exception that could be triggered by a null 'p2_dns_id'

Problem with descriptions in Siebel Configuration Wizzard

Hi, I'm trying to solve problem with siebel 8.1.1,
after reainstalation of Enterprise, SWSE, and webclient language (enu language package) on windows XP proffesional , after configuration of oracle 11g database, and IIS server,
I found out that there are no messages shown in install shield Configuration Wizzard,
there is no LANG parameter, SIEBEL_LANGUAGE environment variable, language and locale in system are set to English
descriptions of fields in normal and with -is:javaconsole parameter look like:

instead of "Create new configuration"... Additional during configuration of gateway server there is new textbox called PrimaryLanguage. It looks like language file is not loaded with the wizzard, do you have any idea what can be the reason of the problem?

Problem with lovs in viewobject instances

Referring to forum : Problem with Two VO's from same EO with different where clause
I was also facing the same issue with static where condition ,using this recommended approach the issue is solved .
The recommended approach is working fine for fetching data .
I have create one viewObject with two viewcriteria and created two instances of viewobject in datamodel . In datamodel i have added viewcriteria too.
But in my case, i need to populate different lovs on same attributes on both the tables (instances of same view object).
I have added two lovs to the attribute and switch condition based on other attribute.
While fetching, the data is coming correct and lovs are also correct but while clicking on createinsert lovs are not cuming properly .

I would suggest that you post relevant pieces of code here - so that it is easier to help you.
Just a thought:
Please note that the event handlers may be called again while you are processing another event (there are at least some cases when this is happeneing) - this might lead to "confusing" forms.

Going through the feedback and support pages will be a waste of your time. Apple won't respond to feedback, and support can't do anything regarding product suggestions, particularly not from a company with an existing product they wish to sell. The only attention you might get from Apple would be possible interest in selling your product through the Apple Stores, and I don't know how Apple chooses the third-party products they sell. Problem with Business object attributes in UWL Workitem description

Hi All,
I have developed a workflow which sends the workitem for two level approvals. Once the workflow is triggered workitem sent to the respective user for approval. When user opens the workitem in inbox he can see all the data which comes from the 'Z' Business object in R/3 and he can approve the same. Everything works fine when this process happens in R/3 system.
The problem comes when user opens this workitem in UWL or this workitem is sent to user mail ID executing 'SWN_SELSEN' report, all the attributes of the business object are displayed in the workitem description except 2 . These are the Minimum annual salary(GRMIN) and Maximum annual salary(GRMAX) fields from 'T510N' table.

For storing the Minimum and maximum annual salary values I have created two attributes in the business object which are referring to database fields. T510N is a customizing table. I could see the values for the same, if I test the Business Object or Trigger the w/f in R/3 and check the approval work item in R/3. These values disappears only in case of web interfacing i.e. If I send the same work item to outlook mail or check it in UWL.
I had checked the same and thought if there is any problem with BO or some other processing takes place before these values are retrieved. But I wonder why this happens only if I process the work item outside R/3 system?

program running the SQL*Loader. The load is erroring due to not finding a
delimeter - I'm guessing it's having problems with the long_description.

Problem in SC with plant description

i have a problem with the specific plant(Eg:IN01).i have created this plant in R3 and replicated to SRM through BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_ALL.
when i create a SC for a any product.i found that the description of the plant that appears is my vendor address.
i have checked the description of plant in org structure it remains same as the backend system.
we dont follow info records.this is a classic scenario.
could some one suggest what could have went wrong.

where did you see vendor address instead of plant. explain ? in which basic data?

CurrentUISkin problem with LOVs

but i have problem with LOV's:

I was able to reproduce the problem. We will provide a fix in the next patch release.
For now, you can apply the fix yourself as follows:
- create a subclass of oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.DynamicMenuBean
- Add member variable to this class:

- Make a custom template for JhsCommonBeans.vm. In this template replace oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.DynamicMenuBean with your own fully qualified class name
- Set the JHS_COMMON_BEANS template key at service level to your custom template
- Generate again.
